Remember how we were talking about Cadbury Eggs and Flake Bars? Well, the local grocery chain here sells Flake Bars, as well as several English chocolates. Even Koala Yummies. I was going to buy a Flake Bar, but I didn't. sweatdrop I was buying stuff to make homemade spaghetti and I didn't want it to get crushed in my bag.

Augh gonk
So, I bought gas about a week ago. The card reader outside wasn't working at my pump, so I went inside, and they guy told me to just purchase $50 in gas and the transaction would only go through as the total amount I actually bought. Well, I figured that was okay, since I was topping off my tank anyway, so I did it. Turns out that a) the transaction still went through as $50 even though I only bought $28 or so worth of gas, and b) when I went inside to grab my receipt, I didn't even think twice to look at it, and he gave me the receipt for someone else's transaction at that pump. gonk
I have to write a letter to my bank company to dispute the transaction to see if I can get the $22 back, or even just $20 and say I know for sure the transaction was not over $30. I'm sending them the receipts as well, but I'm just kicking myself in the face for not checking my receipt. Or even just writing down how much I bought like my parents do. Sheesh. sweatdrop

Not only does that majorly suck, that sounds like something's wrong. I'd talk to the company that the gas station's franchised from about that. /swt

Technologist Tony Stark LunaInverse It wasn't THAT bad... rofl I just smiled and waved as I walked by. xd The best part about cosplaying Spider? Every time someone yelled my name, I could give them the finger and yell back "Read my ******** scripture!" Having an excuse to carry a chair leg in public would score high on my list too.

TweedleKeys Peppermint Elf Streamjumper You just don't see a whole hell of a lot of FY stuff being worn these days. Think about the last time you saw a bunch of Tenchi Muyo, Dominion Tank Police, or City Hunter cosplays or shirts. I take good care of my anime shirts. 3nodding Not only do I have a metric ton of Ranma shirts, but I also have Gunsmith Cats, Maison Ikkoku, Gundam Wing (it was the only gundam series shirt I could find), Full Metal Alchemist, and 1 IY shirt (which has Naraku on it). I still have ElfQuest shirts (which are now found in the manga aisle despite the fact they should be in the graphic novel aisle).
I has a Pikachu shirt, but I use it as a hand towel. sweatdrop I also had a shirt with those girls labeled as "Dyke Spies" on the "Spike Dies" meme, but I can't remember their series. I donated that one to goodwill. Let's face it, I get enough girls hitting on me for no reason. No need to give them a reason... should they have seen the series. stare
Nabs is good with the t-shirt care. 3nodding I have this FY shirt a friend of mine in college made in the silk screening lab. On the front it has the 7 Suzaku written-characters in a circle in red (on black.) On the back it has the 7 Seiryuu ones in blue. Other 'older series'-wise (if you can call them that), I have a Piyo-Piyo MI shirt that I think randomly came with some order, a couple Ranma shirts (though most of them have been long yielded to Diffy), a Totoro shirt (twice over), Bubblegum Crisis (original), a KOR shirt, and a Robotech shirt. I have a lot of anime shirts from conventions and DVD boxes. (Speaking of which, seen the ones coming with the Lucky Star DVDs?) Most of them aren't really my size and I don't really have anywhere to wear that kind of thing to though. (Also like an insane collector, I like to keep my favorites in super duper condition... wear infrequently, handwash only, etc.) Man, I'm so tempted to -try- to list all the anime T shirts I/we have. I think I would bore the heck out of people though. Often times when someone notices a shirt, they ask where it was bought because they want one too... or they just want to spread the love of finding so many people who like the same things they do. True, people probably don't display their FY pride so much these days, but even with Naruto that is everywhere, there are people fangirl/boy over every instance of a ghetto cosplay from it. As long as they keep their hands to themselves, I figure it just adds to the excitement of the con. I think it would be hard to pull off good City Hunter cosplay. It's kind of on the border of what people could wear normally. Tenchi cosplay I still see, perhaps partially due to it's second surge of popularity on CN way back when. I don't think I remember ever seeing a Tank Police cosplay, even back in the mid-to-late 90s when I first went to cons. I've seen a whole TP division cosplay once... but I've seen a few of the lead female and her mechanic over the years as well as a really good Captain Britain... I've also seen a few City Hunter cosplays, but the key is usually either having Hawk look like he came from tending the coffee shop or with props like the 100 ton hammer.

So...AG.
I don't know how many of you have seen/enjoyed Makoto Shinkai's previous works (Voices of a Distant Star/The Place Promised in our Early Days), but you definitely need to check out his new work: 5 centimeters per second.
I watched it twice so far. It's just really beautiful. No sci-fi or fantasy stuff, no fluffy endings...just real life. And he portrays real life very well as well as the way the characters interact with each other. Just great stuff.
Not to mention the theme song is pretty epic.
Anyways, awesome stuff. Also, any big board gaming types might like to know: I picked up Twilight Imperium and the expansion pack this weekend. Epic.

FFG: I've been considering checking that out just because of the reviews it's been getting, but.. then I consider Shinkai's previous works and how badly I hated them. sweatdrop

It was really gorgeous. The train details in the first act were just spot on. The second act I probably liked the best in terms of story. Entertainingly, since I was coordinating meeting some people, I was texting my way out of the theatre. The ADV people on hand were somewhat amused by that. "Just like in the movie!" spoilers: Pretty much immediately after seeing it, someone asked me what I thought of the ending. I liked it well enough. It would have been a bit too Hollywood had there been anyone on the other side of the tracks and it was clear from the montages that she had moved on.I still haven't seen The Place Promised In Our Early Days though I want to.

Yeah, the 100 ton hammer would probably be necessary. I'm envious of your Tank Police findings. I'm kind of surprised it's not more of the Puna sisters.
