What about "since it's magic, it won't work" when dealing with reality?
Anyone who tries to explain "this works this way, through these fundamental principles grounded in reality" will get a**-raped because their explaination quite simply won't work.
Anyone who says "well, it just does, because it's MAAAAAAAAAAAGIC! blaugh " is... well... so much better off than pretending to be able to back something up with science.
It's like saying "if I meditate real hard, I'll be able to fly". It just doesn't work in reality, unless you add the clause of "because of magic".
