"But I am being nice." Giving an innocent blink before a lazy smile and crossing his arms before turning a look over to the dragon that was nuzzling at Shyrae. "Well, there's a sight you don't see every day. Dealing with dragons already? Just like you women to take what us men help you with and run with it." Rolling his eyes in rather dramatic like fashion, the sun catching the gold in his eyes somewhat. But a tilt of his head to Shyrae. "She can talk?" Sure...common knowledge that dragon's could indeed talk, but most didn't act like this...seemed more beast minded than intelligent.
No pets? Why no pets? Were we not petting anymore? She seemed to accept the fact after a while and turned a look to Dhairiss with one large blue eye as she had turned her head to watch him as thus. A look to Shyrae, a moment and then back and forth between before a noise that was a cross between a reptilian purr and an odd yelp of some sorts. Was that right?
Sylin flared brighter a moment, floating closer to Kaznec in apparent recognition that he was asking the right questions, even if they were something it didn't really want to answer. "Lycear...has not fought as a dragon since he lost his beloved Laricalu and gained broken horns and scar ridden wings." Quiet for a period of time as was it's way when it went about dishing out answers. "Dragon calls battle to dragon in Ilindal. Beasts call battles to all Guardian in Ilindal. Nature most foul calls in Ilindal." Another pause...it was almost as if it was more purposefully doing it but one who knew it, knew that this was just the way it did things as if it wanted things to sink in before continuing. "Ilindal crumbles, Ilindal burns. But the Guardians do not give in. Lycear knows it not better to slow down." Floating a bit lower till it seemed to be resting on Kaz's knee with another span of quiet. "Son of Lycear, is not to return home on preconceived notions of duty to Ilindal. His duty is to The Cause." A flutter of light. "The danger expands out of Ilindal now."
She nuzzled lightly at him as if to offer up comfort for something she didn't know he needed at the moment. Just knew that there was distress to his tone and he had taken hold of her other hand as well now as if he was trying to calm himself as well. Though she did tilt her head back, looking up at Sylin with slit pupil eyes, some recognition tuning in and some words filtering past as the moment.

A blink at the ball of light and Caden titled his head to the right a little bit. "Us? What do you mean...oh okay." It took him a second to realize what she meant but he didn't mind. Somehow this little ball was different to be around, maybe it was the way she talked. Though a look to his commander and he raised an eyebrow. "So that's why she is here huh? A little check up about home? It would be nice to know what is going on there anyway." He hadn't thought much about home until now, he was more focused on the task that laid before them and more worried about the dangers that surrounded them everywhere they went.
When the Seon spoke again Caden looked up and blinked a few times in confusion. "Do you always speak like that?" He asked but kept an ear opened to what she was saying, this was about his home after all. His eyes follower her slowly until he was staring at the ball on Kaz knee, the message he manage to actually gather from Sylin's twist of words bothered Caden a lot. "Ilindal is...under attack?" A little blunt but out of everyone in the group he, Kaz, and Jae were the only natives from the city, to know that it's being attacked in many different ways would make them want to rush home. But of course that wont be possible now, they are too far out as it seems.

And this is where it became hard. She had no idea what Sky had said and thus couldn't tell if she was saying her name or not. It probably would have been better to give her something to mimic rather than leaving her to her own devices but Shyrae gave her a nod nonetheless. "She's...learning. Dragons here have the ability to change between forms and are not merely animals. Unfortunately some are raised and trained just like animals, the human-esque side of them repressed to the point of making them what you see before you. I've taken on the task of building her back into what she was meant to be. Foolish or noteworthy, we'll soon find out."
Thus turning back to the dragon. "Say Skylheera." Sounding out the syllables slowly so she could follow and gesturing to Dhairiss again. "Sky-lheer-a."

Any conscious efforts to steady his heartbeat were wiped away as the Seon spoke that name. He unknowingly clenched the hand that was around Jae's and seemed to lose all abilities of speech for the moment. Even though Sylin spoke in such ambiguous ways, there were certain key words here and there that no one could possibly miss out on. Those were all he needed, and it seemed like even Raynes was catching on as well. His self-control was crumbling, much the same as Ilindal walls apparently were. "He... Why didn't he call me at the first signs? Why didn't he contact me earlier?" Staring in disbelief at the red light on his knee a moment, processing the command that seemed to be issued from his father's own mouth. "I have to go." Deceivingly calm, probably said more to himself than anything.

"Neat." And he was a simple man when it came to accepting explainations, as was his carefree nature. But a frown at the latter half, "That's rather cruel. I mean to do it to a creature whom has intelligence that is clearly on a higher level than mere instincts and animalistics means." But a nod and a grin to her. "Ambitious woman you're quickly becoming Shyrae."
Another look at Dhairiss and between the two again, shuffling paws for a moment where she stood in perhaps anticipation of some sorts. A c**k of her head, clearly listening and she worked her jaw a bit. Language she was exposed to, but around here it was quiet and one word commands. These around her talked loudly, making her mind whir and want in on things. Sounds were the base of anything and she was trying to process them. Another purring like sound before a distinct,"Sklra," game out followed by another purring like noise.
"Us. Seons." And then sometimes, the answers were as simple as that. Wishy washy, it seemed this one could be with it's flow of information. "Is that another way to speak, Guardian?" Another flutter of light as Kaznec seemed to go about confirming the rest of Caden's questions and asking some of his own. "Trouble comes like wind;swift and silent. Ilindal is Lycear, the Orb is Son of Lycear. Those of Stars requested this. Requested Son not Father for The Cause." As cryptic to a point as ever yet giving out information just easily enough if one listened. But a few changes of light intensity at his words and Sylin floated up once more in the air. "You would abandon The Cause? Abandon the Strategist Apprentice? Abandon the Fellow Guardian?"
Eyes looked to their hands as he squeezed harder and she frowned as his heart seemed to speed and his breathing seemed to shallow at the same time. That was clear distress. "It's alright...I'm sure..." She wasn't sure what he was worried about exactly, but she knew he was worried or upset about something and that wasn't a good thing to her. Sylin's words were fuzzy to her, seeing as her body was more focused on dealing with pain and occassional convulsions as well as trying to work already absorbed poison out of her system.

She nodded, "Your father was quite against keeping her. He believed she'd already pushed her intelligent side so far down that it couldn't be re-instituted. I think he's wrong and I'm going to prove it to him." Grinning at the dragon and she clapped her hands and nodded. "Very good, Sky. A bit more practice and you'll have it down perfectly." Much like a small child, she'd learn through praise and adoration but not pets. Pets and treats she'd associate with an animal...at least not until there was a bit more success.
"Did you hear that?! She did it! Almost..." Cocking her head at Dhairiss, she threw her arms around his neck and gave him another hug in celebration mostly because she couldn't hug Sky. "How long are you staying? You can probably help me with her..." Wheedling since he'd helped her learn to mimic as best as a drow could, the creatures and other animals around.

Caden nodded, he already understood her words but when Sylin told him the answer he still accepted it with an open mind. "It's nothing to worry about, just asking questions that's all." Looks like he would have to think twice when this one talked, for a ball of light didn't anyone teach it normal human language or did they tell her to speak in riddles to make the person it was talking to think more? A look to Kaz and he blinked a little bit before shrugging. "As she said," He pointed at the orb. "It may be that your father was busy with what was happening to send out a message, I would be too if I had to defend my home when a sudden dragon attack came followed by...what ever else she mentioned." It was the best he could do to figure out what the red orb was saying, after all what she said was a little confusing, sometimes saying it out loud helped.
So he listened ever more and thought it over, gotta love someone who speaks in riddles, it made the mind think too much. But he was able to wrap his head around her words before he looked at Kaz with raised eyebrow. "Hey I understand he's your father but us two will worry as well...well Jae will when she can think straight again. Ilindal is being attack and by what Sylin says it seems that it doesn't look like the happy place we remember the day we left. It's my home to you know, even I worry about your father and even the people I pledge my life to. I wish there was a way we could see it but it seems we are needed for this journey first..." A small pause and he looked down at his feet, Caden had to wonder if it was luck that he came along. If he didn't then what would of happened to him if he stayed home? Would he still be alive or dead? He wouldn't know.

It would seem that he was literally stuck, torn between his loyalties and his duties, even though the two were assumed to go hand in hand. Sylin was not naive, it knew well what terms the Laerethe had laid down and he indeed should have known better. He couldn't be in two places at once, the frustration was just about killing him. Looking to his guard, a mildly snappy tone entered his voice even though he probably didn't mean it. "I don't want to see it, I want to help." But a glance down to Jae as she spoke and he sighed, knowing that the Seon was right. "I know, I can't abandon the cause, as you say. And I can't abandon Jae, especially not like this." Eyes moving back to the red ball of light, sad and troubled. "Did my father have anything else to say?"

"Contrary to what humans and my father say, you can indeed teach a old dog new tricks as well as young dragons new words." Grinning as the dragon seemed to be catching on and she hugged him in her own excitement. A pat on the back for her with a good natured laugh, "No long, I'm merely here to check on who was supposed to be doing the original checking. Malikhai busy and all you know. And you'll do fine without me, heck I haven't even gotten to dragons yet...well, if you don't count draithix and the like that is." Thusly turning a look to his father. "But yes, I have my reasons for being here other than teasing."
"The mind may ease for now, Ilindal stands quite this day though Lycear does not. In circles he runs while others reprimand and get a dragon's growl back. He speaks in dragon's tongue." Barely moving where it was in the air where most Seons were keen on bouncing about with their moods and what not. "Links not made for another reason, he wishes not to disturb you with with his look, mayhaps you will think of Beloved Laricalu and think him to see her soon." Flutter of light then. "Stubborn is the Broken Horned One. But not worse for wear. Strong still. More stubborn is Son of Lycear." For the first time giving what sounded like a chuckle of sorts. "That he loves you. He wishes you well and to keep your head clear, let not Dark overtake thee. Dark of troubles, nor Dark of self. You help with The Cause of The Stars. Ilindal is not felled so long as the Symphony is in tune."
Now Caden's voice held some distress in it as well...she was apparently missing out on something and gave a quiet frustrated noise at her current lack of complete understanding. But there wasn't much she could do about it at all now was there except perhaps hope to be filled in at a later date. Thusly she merely let herself relax against the one who had hold of her, save for the motions she couldn't control at the moment.

Utter torture this was for him, especially since the Seon mentioned the name again and hinted at the physical condition his father was in. Stubborn... Though Seon to his father, Sylin knew him well or perhaps that was because of its general perceptiveness in the surroundings. Just like Jae was, she said he was stubborn too. He glanced down at the noises she issued and merely wrapped his arms around her a bit more firmly, helping her through another fit of convulsions. All the bad and ugly in the world seemed to be colliding at this very moment, and he was their playground. "Thank you, Sylin. Tell my father that I stand with him, though not in body but in mind and spirit. The cause will be furthered so long as he stands his ground and fights for Ilindal. Bring me good news next time."

Releasing him, she stepped back and merely clasped her hands in her own excitement. SHe was like a proud mother with the smartest child and was eager to show her off. Though she knew she had to be careful and not let herself get too caught up in this. It was about Sky, not her. "It'd be far more fun if you were here but I'll just recruit Savvy at random points to help. She knows a bit about dragons." And then that familiar weight settled once again and she quieted. "Aunt Piper getting a little worried then? How long has he been gone?" Knowing time passed slightly differently between planes and such.

"You already let Dark take you. Banish it or you will find yourself in Darker Places. Son of Lycear, that is not where he would want you to be. Do not think yourself Selfish. Several times has he stayed his wings from coming after you. Now you must stay yours. Out of tune, the Performance withers and dies until it is Nothing." Another flutter of light and rising a bit higher in the air. "I will tell him of Son and of Others, as will I surely be sent again. He trusts little other than what is Truly Reliable these days. Good News I will try to bring. Strong Dragon's Blood flows between you and him. Brighter Days are not so Farfetched. Take care of those Close." Thusly bobbing off some in that lazy slow manner as always, leaving the corner they were tucked in to darken.
She did register the abscense of like as her body calmed again, dark taking over thier little corner once more leaving them to their thoughts and worries, her breathing audible to them in general and Kaz's racing hearbeat in her own ear, she being privy to that. Why couldn't she put it all together...she was supposed to be getting better but things only seemed to be foggy still. It was positively maddening that she wasn't fully in the game at the moment...something was wrong and she knew it. A strategist was always good to have at a time like that...
Sky was now having fun with her new...somewhat of a word...repeating it several times over and over, getting a steady feel on the one she had come up with. It sounded new and different and made her tongue twist in a new way that was fun in and of itself. Another nude at Shyrae. "Sklra." Oh yes, that was very very much fun noise to make.
"You're ambitious to try and take her on." Rolling his eyes even as he felt his sister's proverbial gaze boring into his back. "Mom just knows dad...he'll extend and extend as needed. He told her three days in the beginning, and then longer, and now longer. You know how mom's get after you keep putting things off."

"Well tell your mother that certain events are unfolding that need addressed. We'll need to make a stop at a camp or port soon, I'll take care of my mishap, which you are not to mention, and then I'll head home. I know she's probably annoyed with my extentions of time. But I assured her it was in our daughter's best interest."
Glancing at his daughter.
"Though I think now that she'll be more than fine out here, and since she has means to contact us if she needs anything. but I'm not even going to think about going back with a broken arm. she'll kill me."
A nod given to Savvy, and a small frown. the white one, bell. that ment no ice while she was down. just great.
"Alright, you heard the woman, mister richards. lets get ready to sail. I'm not going to get left behind by the Gale Claw if I can possibly help it..."
before finally noticing Dhairiss.
"What in the name of Davy Jones...another elf?! you're like locusts I swear. you see one and the next thing you know you got a dozen."

"That's right, Skylheera." Giving a nod and another clap to the smaller dragon. Praise was important. The more she got it, the more she'd practice and the more she'd begin to learn. Chuckling at Dhairiss, she shook her head. "She was ambitious to take me along but we get along well enough." Her eyes moved to her Uncle's and she sighed, "If you weren't so bullheaded about magical healing, that wouldn't be a problem anymore, Uncle Malik. I could have taken care of that lickety-split and you could be back home." After all, her father hadn't stayed long at all. Just enough to encourage, reprimand, hand over her new staff and then he was gone.

Caden looked at the red dragon and lowered his eyes a little bit. "Hey you're not the only one who wants to help but given the way things are we have no choice now do we?" Though now wasn't the time to argue so instead he turned to Sylin and watched her, or it for that matter as it talked to them. Twisted words was all she said but the message was clear if one wanted to go through it all. Soon enough though it was time for the ball to go and when it disappeared that was that, the message was delivered and there was nothing for them to do really except continue on what they were up to. But now the guardian hoped they could complete their task soon and return home, he wanted to help his fellow people while there was still time.
The weird thing was once the red ball left the room went almost completely dark. After a minute or two his 'night vision' clicked in and he was able to look around without much trouble. Sighing Caden laid down on the wooden floor and stared at the ceiling. "Well...that was nice." His tone was flat and a bitter taste could be felt in his mouth. The usual happiness that was in him was gone for now, news of home being attacked can do that to a person.
