Dammit, where are they?

His backup was not coming anytime soon. He sighed to himself and with a final mental push, pleaded to the winds to guide the poisoned air toward its mark before hopping onto his bike and moving towards Latent's Outer City, where the main entrance to the Underground was located.

Hell, I might as well take care of this on my own.

As he approached, he heard the sounds of Black Hawk helicopter blades not but 10 km from the city. He raidoed in with welcomes and thanks for coming so quickly. RI's Damage Assessment team was on the scene, and once it was all clear they would enter and find out what was where. Accompanied by two squadrons of security forces, they would at least have a fighting chance if any stragglers were in town after it was done.

"Oh, and let me borrow one of those security teams for a moment. I need to go on a raid. Have them meet me at the entrance to the Undergound. Raven out."

With that, he drew the katana once again, driving recklessly towards the battle. But he did not mean to plow into it... he meant to ram through, cutting anyone in his way to pieces.

"BRING IT ON!"

His bike plowed into the sea of undead, his sword flashing as he cut heads off with every wide swing.

The employees of the Yait's insurance branch were safely in their shelter, or so they thought. The floor rumbled, then the cement base of the building cracked in two as an undead slug that had grown from the size of tractor trailer to the size of a jumbo jet. It sucked in any organic life it could find, killing everyone in the shelter and the floors above.

News copters above the scene caugth the carnage as the slug raised itself like a tower over the inner city of latent before diving back into the sewers. All that was left of the Yait's insurance branch it had attacked was a blackened hole with broken pipes extending from all sides.

Then it happened again, and again, the creature was pulling down entire building, sucking out any life inside as if it was nothing more than a juicy filling before going on to the next random target. Houses all over the inner city disappeared as the creature rose above the surface and back down again. Sometimes it would surface and dive through the air before sliding into a previously created hole. Like a slimy black dolphin jumping through the water. This thing had found a good source of nourishment, and it was growing.

Now that it had done exactly what was needed, Yarneth loosened it to do as it pleased, controling the beast from afar was requiring too much effort. The mental strain was taxing his system. So it was best to let it do as it pleased completely.

BOOM

The ground shook with the force of a moderate earthquake, forcing Evan to stop where he was. As he stared toward the inner city in sheer horror, he realized what had happened.

He had waited too long to act on that other slug!

s**t! I've gotta take care of this- it's my fault for letting the b***h get away!

His horror turned to fury as he raced toward the city itself.

"All units, be advised: situation has changed. Report to the Inner City, double time! We need to take this ugly b*****d down, and fast!"

Yarneth... I'll kill you for this.

The Heavy Lifter began to feel some sort of rumbling below him, luckily it was coming from the inner city. The Lifter was heading towards the gate, not said inner city. And it would take more than a few tremors to disturb the massive machine. It would also take a lot more than a man zooming by on a motorcycle to disturb it. It was determined to get to the gate.

Joseph on the other hand was running desperately to catch up with the Lifter, and the tremors almost made him trip. Then, as luck would dictate, el motorman did nearly the same thing. Goddamnit, this just wasn't a good day for badass running. At least he caught up with the robot before he ran into a group of Shields. They seemed to be covering a choke point of some sort. God knows how nervous they would be after that first wave of attacks.

God knows what they were doing this far back, hopefully they weren't all that was left of the Calvary.

"Friendly!" Joseph shouted out to them, "The hell is going on here? And don't give me that civilian crap. I have a gun and a big robot. Those are two leading causes in not dying."

The lifter on the other hand kept going forward. It would find its enemies, and then it would crush them.

Even as the few remaining screams echoed, and rubble slid away from damaged buildings, KB walked down the street calmly. Each step was as methodical as the last, placing itself silently and firmly upon the damaged streets. He moved, yes, but he was much like the army that invaded in the sense that he was undead. None of it mattered really, for like any warzone he'd been in things were oddly surreal if not somewhat peaceful.

This didn't mean that he had the luxury of being exempt from the chaos that plagued the living, unfortunately. And so he'd flicked his right wrist slightly, his dark claws extending where humanoid fingernails had once been. A casual grazing motion slit his left palm from the base up to the pointer finger, a single red gash starting to bleed lightly. Bleeding didn't matter much, KB had already eaten earlier and was ready to start bashing things.

His pace quickened only slightly as he made his way deeper into the inner city, following the burning fetid stench of the giant slug that was ravaging everything. His blood would serve to summon forth a weapon that would assist him, but that would take some time. For now, he'd have to rely upon himself and what weapons he had hidden on him...

That and the countless gas lines that the slug has severed and continued to crawl about it, and devour. Not that KB expected that setting everything aflame would stop the slug, but if they could manage to set fires in the right places they might be able to drive it north...

Minor undead, such as zombies and skeletons, were rather stupid creatures. As the Heavy Lifter entered the scene, a few of them immediately charged it - only to be steamrolled over by the giant robot. The golems were probably the only things that stood any chance against it. Unfortunately they were just as dumb and mindless as the undead they fought beside. One of the towering flesh golems would lumber over to the Heavy Lifter, raising meaty fists to bash down at it's upper frame.

On the road to Latent from the main A~E building....

It was a giant, green-eyed squid, and it was suffocating. What the hell it was doing on the road was unclear.

What was even less clear was the way it suddenly turned into a green-eyed ram and continued down the road like nothing had happened.

Two minutes later, it was a big with intelligent green eyes.

Greeneyes cursed her fate. The blood she had shed earlier had run out, no longer allowing her to maintain her true form. How the hell was she supposed to find Joseph Brown like this?

And then she was a green-eyed bat. Wonderful.

((Are the golems fair game for NPC slaughter too? I kept this one alive just incase you had something planned. XD))

And that was the advantage the Lifter had over the golems, it wasn't dumb as hell. Sensors began sending information to to the biological CPU nestled in the armoured robot.
Both of its two-clawed grips shot open, then the hydraulics began to hiss. The fist arm shot up and the creatures wrist fit nicely between the claws. Like a vice grip they began to crush undead bone as they secured their hold. Then in one fluid movement it pivoted at the waist, ripping the arm out of its poorly stitched socket and sending the other metal claw right at the golems face. The Lifter was hoping that the head wouldn't stand up nearly as well as the wrist when faced with vice grip claws. The pressure was on so to speak.

Oh, and that arm, the machine let it go as it ripped it off. A few of the lesser undead were soon crushed by a similarly undead projectile.

Vahn Kyonuske
[Chase of the Highway - Advent Children OST]

The loud roar of an engine ripped through the atmosphere, even as a black and red blur went by Evan.

Yellowed eyes narrowed behind the goggles, even as he increased the speed of his harley to it's maximum, finally gaining behind what looked to be an all out invasion force.

Even when Sunstrike had leapt downwards and clung onto Vahn, he'd never slowed down; the bike only jerking slightly to the side to accomodate for the added weight.

Vahn had never uttered a word, only smiling softly to himself.

Now...

Using one single hand to maintain balance and speed, Vahn's right hand would reach behind him to his waist, grabbing the handle of Efreet. The transformation was fluid, having long since gotten accustomed to the blade.

Hefting it with one solid grip, he let the end drag out along the floor, sparks starting up widly as he drove forward into the mess.

"Finally."

The Knight looked down the road calmly, pale blue eyes gently reflecting the sparks coming off of that blade. Was it coincidence, or providence, that these two should come to face each other once again. The roar of the motorcycle steadily increased as the vehicle neared, as the blade neared, as the man neared. The Knight slowly pulled himself to his feet, squinting slightly so as to make out the other fellow who'd decided to hitch a ride with his fated opponent.

Scoffing eerily, for it was quite a strange thing for a man with no mouth, to grunt or cough or laugh. Not that speech wasn't a strange thing for our mouthless villain, but it seemed more, acceptable. Guttural notes were frightening things to be heard, when they were heard all around you. Though it was unlikely the men on the motorcycle could hear such things, nor have to bother with their intricacies.

Placing his right foot back, the Knight lowered his shoulders, and reared back as if to swing his sword across in a horizontal strike. And swing he did and the blade shot blue sparks out to the side, as a second blade separated from the first, spiralling low across the pavement as it flew towards the bike. The Knight would take two steps back, still holding the first blade. Pale blue eyes shining menacingly as the second blade went to cut clean through the front of the bike.

Ooo, destruction.

The roar of a motorcycles engine, approaching Latent. And then it quieting down to a soft purr, as Allen looked at the army of undead in front of him. More than he had expected, really. For a moment, he hesitated. He could always turn back, after all. Go through the railway. It would be safer, for all that it would take him a few more minutes.

'Minutes these people might not have.' He reflected, as he glanced behind him at the toys he'd requested along with the bike. It wouldn't be quite as effective as he'd hoped, considering the size of the undead army, but dead bodies still caught fire really easily. And he'd brought toys that should help start said fire. And he'd brought the bike too, supposedly the fastest they'd had. Allen doubted it'd survive what was coming next.

Drawing his katana from it's sheathe, a mischevious glint lit his eyes, and then the engine roared again. He was off, and it was mere seconds before he collided with the rear ranks of the army, both blade and bike helping him mow a path through the undead.

He really didn't expect the bike to survive, but this way it wouldn't take him too long to break through the undead ranks.

The slug, after being let loose from Yarneth's control, returned to the sewers through the hole that had once been an insurance office to continue feeding off the rot and death every sewer contained. It blended well with the darkness as ate through the sewers. It had attained its maximum size, but was gaining power as it consolidated it's structure. It forced its way through the sewer tunnels, breaking through sewer laws and enlarging the tunnels themselves, or leaving them to collapse.

It would not go above the surface unless it's food ran dry, or it was provoked. But now even it's movement was causing a disturbance, shaking the ground above its postion, and every time it unleased a moan the sewer lid covers of the entire city would shake violently.

The time it spent in Latent sewers depended on many factors, how long the food held out, the flow of the tide into the sewers, what other food it sensed, and how it was herded. Of course, if destroyed, there would be no need for it to leave.

The shaking and such was hardly a bother to KB, even if it should've been wrenching his footing out from him as he neared the latest hole the slug had made. No, it was just one of those mythical things the chaotic and evil undead did, walking all creepy-like. Just like some crazed man with a hook from a bad movie, each methodical and slow step brought him closer to his foe than running or driving would.

Reaching the hole KB merely rolled his eyes and stepped in. His feet grasping the edge with ease, he crested the lip of the hole and was soon walking along the ceiling of the enlarged tunnel. Walking along upside down his eyes pierced the darkness, as he followed after the giant acidic thingie-mah-bob that was eating the city. His glasses remained on his face, and even his hair seemed to be pulled towards the ceiling as if it were the ground. For all intents and purposes, KB was merely manipulating gravity to suit his desires.

His coat would've been an annoyance, and so he shrugged it off. The red fabric exploded into a plume of dust as it slipped from his body, to float lazily down to the mucus below. KB still bled, drops of crimson forming at his hand to drop up to the ceiling in a constant pitter patter.

Shields and undead alike were passed along, as Vahn went speeding in. Any semblance of a road was lost as he tracked along sidewalk and pathway without discretion.

The sparks from his Fang's tip continued arcing, until it seemed as if the whole blade itself would ignite into crimson flames.

Time seemed to slow down slightly, as the Knight stepped into view. Yellowed eyes widened, as memories of Strata flashed back in.

With it, the sharp sensation of pain in his abdomen reacted.

His body remembered.

He could feel the hand on his shoulder tighten; the only responce he gave was in increasing the throttle, pushing the machine past its limit. The tires were roaring, threatening to careen off course and out of control.

Leaning in a bit more, he cut his blade to the side, so the flat edge would be hovering horizontally over the ground.

The Knight swung, and at the speeds he was riding in on, avoidance was seriously at a low percentage.

But it was not impossible.

Knowing Sunstrike would take cue, Vahn leaned in violently, making the bike slide alongside the ground, tires screeching.

The blade shot forward, barely missing Vahn by milimeters, the side of his harley receiving an ugly scratch across its surface.

The bike would come sweeping the Knight's feet out from under him, considering the speed of impact, while----

Menos was on the shore now, the drifting accross the waters took longer than it seemed. He simply stood on the shore, with his hands in his pockets.

The others...looks like they stirred up a little commotion. I guess I better--eh?

Menos cocked his head to the side to see a man kneeling over another body. The one on the ground was dead, no doubt about that. It was a young boy. Menos guessed that the two were simple fisherman, one just happened to get caught by one of the cannon fire. Why the man hadn't approached the Knight? He assumed it was because the Knights massive appearance. In any case...

"Y-you b*****d, you killed my son..."

"You are of no use to me..."

"I'll-ill kill you!"

The man would then grab hold of his spear and charge blindly torwards Menos.

SLICE

The spear jabbed straight into Menos's stomach, the end appearing on the other side...and Menos would grin.

"I said it before...you are of no use to me..."

WHOOSH

He lashed forward with his left hand to grasp hold of the man's face. A muffled crie was all that could be heard from underneath the grip. Needless to say, the man let go of the staff, as Menos raised him into the air. His eyes narrowed and he grinned at the man, tightening his grip.

One...two...the man's head would explode. Directly after Menos would move in such a way that his arm became a blur of black, his claw came into view and a dull glow could be seen. Three...four...and it would stab through the man's chest. Odd thing about this, was that the weight of the man would cause his body to drop. One would think that a hand through your chest could hold you in the air, but instead the hand sliced upwards through it, like a hot knife through butter.

"What a bore..."

He flicked off some blood from his hand and walked onward, leaving a disfigured corspe of a man in his wake.
