First off, I love how people always think that they have had it the worst blaugh I love to hear people share though, Everyone has bad times and to some it may not be that bad, but the person the experienced it, it may have been the worst thing imaginable.
Second, I love how "parents" think they can relate to the childrens problems because they feel there is nothing that their child could have gone through that they haven't in twice the amount of time on earth. I proved my mother wrong on Sat.... She's 32 years older then me and she couldn't begin to relate to what I've been going through since March. It was kind of funny... in a sadly lonely way...

Bain, you must understand this:
There's but one truth we all start with: We are born, We live, We die.
During babyhood, infanthood, childhood, and pre-teenagehood, we are all developing mental processes, and, learning process. This era is where our basic personality is developed.
Then we move to Teenagehood and pre-adult hood, where, still, we are learning, but our mental processes have matured. Our basic personality is still intact in all ages and/or stages.
During adulthood, we are faced with the question: What are me going to do with our lives? Believe it or not, this stage is suposed to be somewhere between the ages of 18-30. ((But for some reason, I, who am only 16, have already awnser this.....))
We are at our peak of our physical body in the 30's.
After the 30's, our body starts to decline physicaly. Slightly, but in the future, everything that happens here will come back worse.
After the 40's, things like Fluid Intelligence, and Crystalize intelligence starts to "leave"us. These depends on the nervous system. ((They mature when the Nervous system does, and decline when the nervous system does))
Fluid intelligence is when we can solve abstract problems and such.
Crystalize Intelligence is the ability to use already learned knowledged and use it in situations.
Your mother, is going through Stagnation, which is the desire to re-capture the past. This can mean, that, well... she took notice that certain items of her time are surficing out now, like clothes, or style, and is therefore, wrapping it with the term of "History will repeat itself" and as a cause for this, she's assuming that we all go through the same.
This is slightly true, but there's a catch: The situations, locations and all other variable and factors influence the life of a child, therefore, not ALL growing up, of ALL kids are ever the same. This inability to see your point is due to the loss of Fluid Intelligence.
Or, your mom might also be going through Middle aged depression whic occurs mostly in middle-aged womens.
My reply to you yesterday was actually shorter-er but due to the fact that the compt. logged me off, I decided to write this another day.... But as you can see, I tried to sum it all, but put as many details as I could. sweatdrop

no, but let's think about that. Why is it called crystal... ?
It's actually a metaphor. Let's go bact to it's meaning:
Crystalize Intelligence is the ability to use already learned knowledged and use it in situations.
I guess I just discovered why. Now, tell me, do you follow me?

She might be going through the Middle Age Depression too, but that could just be the fact that her husband is dying and will probably be dead before Christmas (Her favorite Holiday)...
