Lyuk's blue gaze widened as he watched in awe of the huge ancient dinosaur pokemon. An aerodactyl.... Wow, there must be some crazy pokemon around here... He saw the bloody teeth and the towering figure of the pokemon and didn't cringe or anything. This was one magnificent pokemon!
Kai looked at the pokemon and only saw one thing. A huge pokemon that looked like it was about to try and eat his trainer! The Emolga looked cute but still packed his own power. Soaring upward, he then flew up and flicked the pokemon with his tail right on the tip of it's nose. He basically was trying to distract the pokemon away from his trainer as electricity shot towards the ancient pokemon in a Thunder Shock attack!

">....Oh wouldn't I look magnificent wrapped in silk?<" The Shieldon asked, a starlight twinkle appearing in his eyes as he suddenly ground to a halt. Ami's defense had proven effective...just not in the fashion she'd been expecting. The Shieldon didn't just not hit her, he'd never even reached her. The second she'd mentioned silk, even in reference to a bug-types name, he'd been immediately lost in his own little world. ">Yes...splendid, wrapped in a thin layer of white silk...no, a shade of brown to bring out my earthy tones...perhaps a nice flower as an accent...but what would go with my particular shade?<" The ancient Pokemon thought aloud, padding about with light steps as he pondered things related to his own appearance ">Oh but where would I find a master weaver in such a dreadful place? My my, and think of the mud! Silk can be such a chore to clean...<" It would seem the Shieldon was so lost in thought he'd forgotten where he was, and in the process forgotten to put up some sort of defense. Of course that didn't mean Ami would have any easier time harming him! Rough hide aside, the Shieldon's steps were seemingly random; he was walking one way one second, and the complete opposite direction the next!

((Side thought. Remember that Emolga is a Flying-Squirrel, incapable of true flight. A fact further struck home by it's inability to ever learn Fly)) There was one piece of folly the Emolga hadn't considered in his own actions. He could distract the Aerodactyl from Lyuk that was true, but that would only bring the creatures attention back on him. The Emolga was quick, but this ancient hunter was every bit as fast...and every bit as willing to eat the Emolga as well. She saw the flying rodent as an appetizer...a snack normally snapped up on the wing...and Lyuk...Lyuk was the greatest meal she'll have had in a long time. He was so much more...soft....supple then her usual meals...a delightful treat after consuming to many Pokemon with rocky hides.
Kai was about to realize the other flaw in his distraction...in getting so close, as those massive blood stained jaws opened wide at his prompting! Head thrusting only slightly forward, the Aerodactyl brought those teeth down, intending to clamp down on the Emolga and bite him literally into three pieces!

Ask and thee shall receive. Yuna had hoped to encounter a Pokemon, even another Grass-Type, and indeed she would...though perhaps not in the fashion she'd been expecting! The child would be given only a second warning, the sound of something clipping against the leaves and branches above, before a black & yellow missile whizzed through the air! The impact could only be described as colossal, despite the diminutive size of the projectile. The ground shuddered violently, dust rose into the air, and a small three by three foot crater now marked the forest floor.
When the obscuring projectiles of dirt began to clear, Yuna would find herself faced with an odd side...perhaps even plainly ridiculous in the eyes of some. It was a Sunkurn, black and yellow, wearing a set of goggles alongside an old fashion aviation helmet! Not seeming to have noticed the girl yet, the Sunkern shook his head briskly ">Trajectories a little off...but that's what these tests are for!<" He declared, then looked behind him ">Right Carl?....Carl?....DAMMIT CARL!<" The Grass-Type called in irritation, looking around for whomever Carl was...">...Arceus...this is why you never trust a Hopip to be your wingman...<" The Sunkern would state, smacking his head on the nearest rock, for lack of hands to do it himself.
At last, the Pokemon would turn toward the girl ">Excuse me, but can you direct me to the nearest Flying-Type? Puede que usted dirige me llevó al aeropuerto?<" The Sunkern would ask the girl, essentially making the same request twice...not that the child would be able to understand either one.

Yuna was taken by surprise as the sunkern hit the ground. She had not expected a pokemon to fall from above. Still in her slightly shocked state she looked at the grass type for a bit before she decided to engage it in battle, it hadnt attacked her and she didnt want to cause unnesicary harm to it but her task was to find a chunk of amber and catch another pokemon for her team. She unclipped her only pokeball that was occupied by a pokemon. She let out her Squirtle. Yuna heard the sunkern call out to her but she dindint know what it wanted for all she knew it could be getting ready for a fight.
Rikku looked at the sunkern and she wondered if her trainer wanted to fight it out. If Yuna wanted her fight she would fight to the end.

In response to the Squirtle's actions, or rather lack of them accompanied by rather cryptic words, the Sunkern could think of only one appropriate response. ">Ready for what?<" He asked, tilting his head and thus his entire body ">Are going to carry me to the nearest Flying-Type? That's be mighty kind of you! Hard getting around without arms and legs ya know!<" The Sunkern said with a grin. Yup, he was totally and completely oblivious to what the girl intended to do. He presented no defense other then a blissfully ignorant grin, and a resistance to Water-Types.

Yuna knew the sunkern had a resistance to water, but she also knew Rikku didnt know a water move yet so she would start with a simple tackle attack. "Rikku use tackle and be prepared for its counter attack alright" Yuna formed a swift stratagey in her head thinking of the speed in which Rikku could move.
Rikku sighed as the seedling made the wrong assumption. She looked to her trainer and nodded it would be best to end this quickly. She charged the sunkern ready to knock him back. >Ignorance is bliss, seedling listen carefully you will either be taken down or caught here<

The Squirtle hadn't accounted for two things in the midst of her attack. The first being the height difference between herself and the Sunkern, the second being that her opponent was still sitting in a small crater in the ground. Instead of knocking into her opponent, she'd sail directly overhead; promptly a long whistle from the Sunkern. ">Wow...a flying Squirtle! Never thought I'd see the day<" He said with a grin plastered upon his face ">So you're either going to take me down to the flying type, or catch me and fly yourself? Awesome!<" As the Sunkern said these words his body pulsed slightly, and for a moment he'd seem a little bigger...then as he began jumping up and down, it quickly became evident he really WAS bigger! All at once, the Sunkern was rapidly growing beyond his usual size. Unaware of the battle around him, he didn't attack the Squirtle, instead he was using Growth!
[CRITICAL! +1 to Sunkern's Defense Rolls!]

Yuna watched the sunkern grow bigger and knew it was using growth, she also knew she would have to deal with an even stronger grass typw now because she knew growth helped increase a grass types potentional. "Rikku there isnt much to dodge yet, but be warry of its movement alright"
Rikku sighed again as the seedling still didnt understand that it was in a battle >Huh ignorance is bliss until one is smacked back in reality< She watched the seed closely noting it had the advantage in the crater and hoped her trainer saw that to as she waited for her chance to attack again

She shook her head. This Shieldon was quite a handful...">You talk too much about yourself...<" She bleated. And as Ami said that, she quickly pawed the ground with her hooves, aiming for the what seemed to be the topsy turny Shieldon. This was a good chance to hit the Shieldon with all she had! The Deerling then charged forward once more to hopefully land a Tackle attack!

">I reject your reality and replace it with my own!<" The Sunkern declared cheerily ">That's what Pa used to say...thought he could fly without a Flying-Type unfortunately...<" Abruptly, the Sunkern would return to his original size. Apparently that little declaration had broken his focus just enough to cause the Growth to fail. ">So can we go yet? I've still got tests to run...not to mention giving Carl a good whack!<"

As the Shieldon suddenly danced off to one side, Ami would find her attack came up rather short, missing the ancient Pokemon by a wide margin. ">...but what grander topic could their be then I?<" He asked, looking genuinely confused for a moment; as if the very notion that something could be more interesting was preposterous. Suddenly his eyes narrowed into a ">What else would we talk about...you? Hardly. Your furs too short. Colours too drab. You're too short, and your limbs are too scrawny....though you do have impeccable taste in colours<" Amidst his judgements, the Shieldon managed to say something most shock...a compliment toward the little Deerling; though one didn't have to look far to see the reason why. During the Winter months, the little Grass-Type carried the same shades of gold and brown the Shieldon constantly wore. While speaking, the Shieldon's hide seemed to twinkle slightly, a pleasant scent drifting through the air around him, and soon Ami would see amidst an alluring pink haze...the ancient Pokemon was attempting the unthinkable...he was trying to Captivate the young Deerling!

Yuna sighed as the Sunkern seemed to not get it was in a battle. She looked at Rikku and decided to keep on fighting "Ok try another tackle." The turtle nodded and charged towards the seedling again. Yuna found a deisire to capture this pokemon. She thought out her next move as Rikku made her way towards the seedling.
Rikku sighed again >You are ignorant seedling you cant even see what is happening as we speak< She made sure to not fly over the crater and charged down into the crater, would the Sunkern realize it was in a battle or not was unseen. Rikku dived at the last second her body aimed directly at the seed.

This time the Squirtle's attack would strike home, the Sunkern bouncing out of the crater like a tiddlywink. Yet when the little Pokemon crashed into the ground and rolled, he would only have one thing to say ">And you're a rude, foul mouthed little Squirtle!<" He declared, sticking his tongue out at his opponent ">....though still smarter then Carl!<" The Sunkern added as an odd afterthought.
Yuna and Rikku would be quick to learn the mistake they'd made in this battle...more so the Squirtle's then the Trainer's. She'd called him ignorant, and smacked him about...but it was still the Sunkern whom stood very much with the advantage. Slowly, Rikku would begin to feel her eyelids growing heavy, her limbs heavier still. With each passing moment she'd begin to feel more and more drained...but only Yuna would be able to see why. Above the Squirtle's head and around her shell small green bubbles had begun to appear, steadily growing larger with every passing moment. Rikku had dealt the Sunkern some damage, and so he sought to repair it by taking the necessary energy from her! It was an Absorb attack, and if it succeeded, the little Squirtle was in for a world of hurt.

Yuna knew instantly that the sunkern was using absorb on Rikku. She had only one thing that might keep the attack from working its magic. "Rikku counter with mirror coat" Yuna hoped it would work if not then she would just have doomed herself to failure.
Rikku looked back a mirror coat could be their only escape at the moment or it could back fire and doom them both. She would place her trust in her trainer and started to glow with a shine that could bounce the special attack right back at the sunkern.
((Unless I am mistaken I can counter, right?))
