Kael frowned, glancing up at the immense mountain before him. The top was surrounded by fog. He shivered.
"Yep, definetly not going there."
He put his finger in the water.
"Hmmm...the water is at a comfortable temperature...I wonder if I still have the waterproof cover for my backpack."
He opened up his pack and pulled out a small plastic sheet.
"Hoho."
He pulled off his shirt, putting it into his pack. He then placed the sheet around it, pulling up the zipper to secure it.
"Across the water then!"
He stretched and dove into the water. Swimming forward using the breast stroke, he wondered how far across the lake was.
"I hope I'm not doing something stupid."
He continued to swim, he easily circumnavigated the mountain and within minutes he could see the other shore.
"Good. It was only a few hundred meters."
He emerged on the shore, sitting down and pulling two small pieces of wood and a Zippo.
"Now to get dry."
He lit a fire and once it was crackling merriliy he let out his Pokemon. Munchlax and Chansey glanced at him frowning and shaking their heads.
"What? It was easier than going all the way to Fortree City and then going south from there."
Chansey shrugged and sat down.
"Once I'm dry, maybe we'll train a bit."

((Thanks guys...I couldn't believe how horrid I felt yesterday. sad ))
How could it dodge that? Kasiya thought, irritated, as Shocker took the hit from the Dragonbreath and the Swift. Ariel, after getting hit by the golden stars herself, ran towards the small falling Pikachu and aimed her Water Gun up high, creating a fountain for the Pikachu to land safely in. She put all her might into the attack, sending the Pikachu skyward again. Shocker took a second to gain her bearings, and suddenly knew what Ariel's intent with the Water Gun had been. The Pikachu grabbed onto the Dragonair's tail and held firmly before blasting a Thunderbolt as hard as she could. Happy her strategy had succeeded, Ariel faced the Espeon again, and shimmered blue as she made another Wish. Kasiya watched in amazement at her two Pokemon working together, but soon realized it shouldn't be suprizing - Shocker and Ariel had been friends the longest, for they had captured the stubborn Pikachu when Ariel was still an Eevee.

"Hang in there Aero!" Seth called out as it took major damage. That's Pikachu's still attached to Aero. A smirk appered on Seth faces, although his disagreed. "Aero Slam! Send that Pikachu flying into Ariel!" Aero followed Seth's instruction ramming it's head into the small creature. It was sent flying in the direction of Ariel. "Yes, major damage thanks to Dragon Dance!"
He then turned his attention to Aura. "Swift! Then a Quick Attack Aura!" Seth directed once more. The Espeon sent a fury of stars again hoping that it's opponent would be distracted by the falling Pikachu. It then charge, it looked like it had a comment's tail as it rushed towards Ariel.

"Brace yourself, Ariel!" Kasiya cried. Shocker slammed the ground hard next to Ariel, who was then hit by another Swift attack. "Ice Beam!" she yelled, and the Vaporeon let loose the icy attack, striking the Dragonair as it was close by once more. The Espeon's attack slammed the Vaporeon, knocking her to the rough ground. Shocker lay in a heap, silent and unmoving. Ariel stammered to her feel, and suddenly shimmered as her wish was granted. Kasiya wordlessly recalled Shocker, and once more sent out Seto. "Seto! Faint Attack! Ariel! Bite!" Kasiya called, knowing Seto's attack wouldn't miss. as the two Pokemon attacked the Espeon.

Aero was hit once more, barely hanging on. Aura was attack once more doing double the damage. Seth bit his lip. "Return Aero, Aura!" The two Pokemon were sucked into thier Pokeball. "That's enough." He wispered to the two Pokemon in their balls. "You three did great."
He straightened up and looked towards Kasiya. "Your Pokemon make a great team, the victory is yours." He gave a weak smile.

Kasiya still held Shocker's Pokeball in her hands, and she slumped to her knees. "Thanks, so do yours," she said, smiling weakly. Ariel limped over to her and sat down next to her, and gently licked her cheek. Seto padded over as well, and sat near his trainer. "You guys did awesome," she said, hugging them both, then got to her feet. "You're an awesome trainer, Seth," she said, holding out her hand. "I honestly thought you had me beat," she said truthfully. Her right hand held the Pokeball so tightly her knuckles had turned white. "Your Dragonair is incredibly well-trained."

"As much as I wanted to keep going it would have been selfish for me to let Aero keep getting a beating." He replied. "Thanks, I had Father help me train him." He shook hands with Kasiya glad to have had the experience. "Why don't we get these Pokemon to Nurse Joy." He suggested.

"Good idea," she said, recalling Ariel and Seto as she did so. Growly and Flash came over to her, both looking a little disappointed they hadn't been called into battle. Kasiya recalled Growly, who was a bit too big to go into the Pokemon Center doors, but Flash stayed out with her. She followed Seth into the Pokemon Center, somehow feeling that if he hadn't ended the battle right there, she'd have lost in the end. I've got some more training to do, she thought, still clutching Shocker's Pokeball tightly. In her mind, she could see Aero forcefully slamming her to the ground, and that scene replayed itself in her mind over and over again. She'd never seen a Pokemon take such a hard hit before, not even when she watched the Elite Four take on challengers on TV. Dragon Dance had severely boosted Aero's power, and Shocker was small and had low defences to begin with. Seth handed over his Pokemon first, but Kasiya hung back for a moment or too. When it was her turn, she turned over Ariel, Seto and Fang.
"I think my Pikachu's badly hurt," she said, handing over the last Pokeball.
Nurse Joy took it, her face grim. "I'll see what I can do," she said kindly, and disappeared into the back room.

Seth sighed, clutching his remaining Pokeball. "Well Kasiya, I'm sure you'll have no problem beating Erika in your up comming battle." Seth tossed up his Pokeball and released his orange Charmeleon. "As for me I think I'll go practice some contest moves with Charcoal here." He put a hand on top of Charcaol's head. "Feel free to come and watch." He walked out of the sliding door trying to keep his mind off of Aero. He'll be fine, Father and I trained him well.

With Nidorino by his side, Jaeshan made his way through the undergrowth of the forest, looking for any sign of his Bellsprout. The small grass Pokemon had disappeared during his brief nap, and now the young man had to find him. Mightyena and Butterfree were up ahead, scouting. Jaeshan wasn't really worried about Bellsprout getting into trouble, for when he'd captured it, it had nearly knocked out his entire party.
The duo reached a small clearing, and Jaeshan looked around, but there was still no sign of the small grass Pokemon. Nidorino studied the ground around him, sniffing slightly. Jaeshan watched him for a moment, then looked up at the sky. It was starting to get very late, and he hadn't even made it to his favourite training spot yet. He sighed deeply, and looked back to his Poison Pin Pokemon. Nidorino was a few feet in front of him, still studying the ground and looking up every so often. His big ears twitched, as he seemed to be listening for something. Jaeshan was about to say something, but changed his mind and mimicked his Pokemon, also listening carefully. There seemed to be a rustle in the shrubs to his left, and both Human and Pokemon turned to look.
A large, brown rat-like Pokemon had nosed its way out of the bushes, sniffing along the ground and scratching up soil with its claws. It appeared to be looking for food. Its sensitive ears twitched, and it looked up at Jaeshan and Nidorino, suprized to see the two of them standing there.
"Um, hello," Jaeshan said to the Raticate, and it tilted his head at them, and made a chittering noise. It sat back on its hind legs and scratched it's ear, looking around. "Have you seen a Bellsprout wandering around here?" Jaeshan asked hopefully. The Raticate blinked at him, then looked around. It chittered again, and pointed to where it had came from. Jaeshan's jaw nearly dropped, but he regained his composure. "Thanks," he said, and the Raticate lead them (hopefully) towards his missing Pokemon.

"Thanks for the offer, but I'm feeling a little faint," Kasiya smiled at Seth, and watched him and his Charmeleon leave through the sliding doors. She took a seat on one of the couches, and Flash jumped up beside her, putting his head on her lap. "You're pretty well mannered," she said, stroking his mane. Once again, the Jolteon's usually spikey fur was smooth and flat, and very soft. It was plainly obvious how well Eontri had taken care of him. "You know," she chuckled after a few minutes, "if we had a Flareon on our team, we'd have more then half of the Eevee evolution chain on our side." Flash glanced up at her, and nuzzled her hand. She sighed, and closed her eyes. "There certainly are more powerful trainers than me in this world. We're gonna have to train hard if we want to be amongst their ranks."
"Jolt! Jolt!" Flash said in agreement.

"Alright Charcoal let's do some contest training." Seth said to his Pokemon. "Let's start off with Ember then follow threw with a Metal Claw!" The Pokemon did as it was told. It shot out an Ember attack then slashed through the fire with a shining claw. The fire split, it looked like it was raining red and orange flares. "Nice opening Charcoal. I'm not sure what else to do with you until you learn some new attacks."
Seth and his Pokemon walked to a near by tree and rested. "Kasiya was tough, I'm glad I had the courage to stop before Aero got seriously hurt." He looked up to the sky, then gave a worried sigh.

Having called these woods home for quite some time, the Raticate could weave her way through the trees and shrubs with major ease. Every so often, she'd stop to make sure Jaeshan and Nidorino were still behind her, then she'd keep going. Jaeshan wasn't sure where the rat Pokemon was leading him, but he hoped they'd find Bellsprout soon. He also wondered where Mightyena and Butterfree had gotten to.
After some time, Raticate lead them to another clearing. It sat down to rest for a bit, while Nidorino and Jaeshan caught up. Raticate scratched its ear again, and looked at its new traveling companions. It got to its feet, and continued on, just as Jaeshan caught his breath. "And we keep going," he said quietly, as they continued on.

Kasiya soon dozed off, leaning slightly to the side against a pillow, and Flash snoozing lightly on her lap. She'd been much more exhausted then she realized. She soon was dreaming, and she was back in that field, with the storm brewing. She looked around, and saw Shocker walking slightly ahead of her, and an Eevee walking behind her. "Ariel?" she asked, and the Eevee wagged its tail. Thunderbolts struck the ground around her, and Shocker used her own electricity to block some of the bolts. A huge flash of blinding light made them turn their eyes away, and when she looked back, Raikou was in front of her again. The air smelled of ozone and the electricity flowed across its body in large ripples. Its eyes locked with Kasiya, and for a second, she felt frozen. It turned its head slightly and roared loudly, as a large lightning bolt struck him directly and he was gone, just like that.
A resonating bang shook the air, jolting the girl awake. Her sudden jump startled the sleeping Flash, and the Jolteon retaliated with a weak Thundershock. Kasiya gritted her teeth, and apologized to the shaken Jolteon, who didn't seem to happy with being woken.
It was about that time Nurse Joy came over to her, three Pokeballs in hand. "They'll be fine," she said.
Kasiya studied her Pokeballs, and looked up at the kindly nurse. "What about Pikachu?" she asked in a scared voice.
"She was hurt pretty bad, but she'll be okay. I want to keep her overnight to be on the safe side." Joy smiled, and handed her an empty Pokeball. "She's awake, if you'd like to go see her."
Kasiya nodded meekly, and put the Pokeball away. Flash stayed behind on the couch, and went back to sleep as his new trainer headed into the treatment room with the nurse.

Soon after a short nap he re-called Charcoal and entered the Pokemon Center. He retrieved his three Pokemon, thanking Nurse Joy and she handed them back to him. He scanned the room, "I wonder where Kasiya is."
