DiddleFreak61387 You know you're a band nerd when you start to sing past shows and your friends join in. My friends did that once, they were walking down the hall way and one asked how this part in one song goes, and they got to it and on the next downbeat they all busted into last year's show.. OMG me and my friends keep doing this, we were in this years musical (Bye Bye Birdie) and every time someone is sad or we want to be random we start singing the songs and our friends join in, most of the time I start it XD

You know you're a band geek when....
1. You name your instrument
2. You think your instrument has it's own personality
3. You and your friends "talk" for your instruments
4. When you can't play a note, you say that your instrument is in a bad mood and didn't feel like playing those notes.

Boo-san Nintendo Punk 05 You know your a band nerd when you dream about marching band... Very frequently, I must add... Um, you know you're a band nerd when even when you don't have a flag in your hand, other band members tend to stay at least six feet away from you at all times. xd thats so true,and everyone is about 10 feet away when they learn youve learned rifle. you know your a band nerd when you start pointing out dynamic changes on the radio. ...or when an armed guard is a girl with a pole instead of a guy with a gun. biggrin

Sorry if any of these are repeats!
-When "...one time at band camp" loses all it's funniness and it just gets annoying.
-You have more inside jokes than anyone.
-You walk home with friends and your in step with the ROTC dude next to you.
-You have all your old show music on your ipod and (even though your in the guard) can direct it JUST LIKE the drum majors did without trying.

You know your a Band Geek when:
~You get out of Class just to go play with the Freshman Band
~You can Play and March your entire Show backwards
~When after Class the whole band plays old TV show themes (We did Sanford and Son, and Wayne's Brothers)
~When you Memorize all 7 sheets of music for the Concert Band, the 5 Sheets for the Freshman Band and play them all without looking at music at the End of the Year Concert, then at the end the whole band plays the Show from the Marching Season while walking around the auditorium.

You know you're a band geek when You have the flu, yet still practice trombone (or some other woodwind instrument, or percussion) for two or three hours (emptying the spit valve every ten minutes though.... sweatdrop )

you dont know where your locker is since you use your band locker most of the time.
youve been kicked out of the band room for being there too often.
you've eaten meals numerous times there, not counting parties
you spend more time practicing then doing hw
your friends tell you your a band nerd all the time
your band shirt has holes in it
you name your instrument and actually use the name when referring to it
you've clean the bandroom more then your own room
you find clothes in your band locker that belong to you...
you've challanged you bd to a duel, and won
you manage to get a 100 on an allstate flute solo, which is like impossible
you practice more than once a day
you refer to band when theres nothing else to talk about
you spend more time with your section leader then with your own family sometimes.
band is the highlight of your day, the only better period is lunch
you feel awkward without your instrument close by
you've slept in the practice rooms
you can fix your own instrument
you carry a screwdriver in your pocket, its not really for your glasses
fingering and blowing are serious topics
you actually look foward to sectionals
most of your friends are in band
it is not uncommon for your non-band-buddies to know your band music on account of your fabulous singing
you can tounge faster than you can talk
yea thats all i got...

You know you're a band geek when...
~You read at least 30 or more pages of this thread and are guilty of a majority of them
~You and your dad had dinner at Olive Garden with the band director and assistant director after the drum corps show. (I didn't do that, but my brother did, it was funny)
~Your dad is friends with your band director
~You ditch your friends in the morning to go hang out in the band room
~You've ditched class to hang out in the band room
~You've joined more than one band nerd guild on gaia
~You have your concert music on your iPod/MP3 player.
~Your only motivation for getting up and going to school is band
~You sprained your ankle really bad and your BD said you can't march, but you did anyway.
~You stayed home from school because of a really bad concussion, but you went to play at that night's basketball game to play with the band.
~Your marching uniform becomes more comfortable than your normal clothes.
~Most of the pictures in your camera are from football/basketball games, in the bandroom, marching competitions, etc.
~You will stab anyone who says the football team is better than the band, when drunken apes can play football better than your school's team.
~You'll stay up past 3 am practicing untill every little detail of your music is played perfectly
~You broke your playing hand, but still tried playing your instrument anyway.
~You talk to your instrument
~It talks back (I swear my mellophone talks to me) eek
~You actually want to participate in a trombone suicide
~You can watch other band's marching shows on YouTube all day
~You can sit here and come up with band geek jokes all day.
Ok I'm going to stop otherwise I'll get obsessed and keep writing more and get carpal tunnel syndrome. xD
