Miyuki thought about it, she remembered Garrick and Hana. She remembered slightly about them arguing over what ada looked like, which when she thought back on it was kind of silly. The last time of course she had been only a two tailed.
"I think so," Miyuki replied, "We played while Mommy and Auntie talked."

Earendil smiled faintly. "I suppose, with you growing so fast, you would have been very small when that happened. Do you remember much about them?"
Probably not much more than an impression, considering how long ago i t had been, but still, he was curious.

She had to think about it some more, "Only a little bit, Garrick has black hair and Hana has white, but her ears are shorter than Garrick's. And we were talking about our adas, arguing about looks but I don't quite know why."
Lin chuckled at that, "When you both were little ada was like any other name, instead of a title, so when you said your ada has black hair, Garrick disagreed with you because his ada has white hair."

Earendil's brow furrowed in confusion. "But this was before you ..."
He trailed off. It had been before she had told him she returned his love, but he didn't know how long she had been at home after realizing. Maybe she had been encouraging Miyuki to call him ada even before her return. He had no idea.
"Still," he added, smiling sheepishly, "it sounds cute."

Lin chuckled as she placed a hand on Earendil's arm, "It was cute, probably cuter because Miyuki caught on the concept of ada very quickly."
Miyuki was confused at that, "What was there to catch? Ura said he was ada."
Of course Miyuki couldn't remember the full details in which Ura had simply strung her along her child logic to explain that indeed Earendil was her ada. Ura, was much, much better at appealing to a child's mind than Kaito in a way.

Earendil smiled. "Well, I suppose it didn't help that even before you returned to your home with her, she was treating me like her father," he murmured to Lin. He looked over at Miyuki. "You were very clingy, you know."
Thankfully, their time here had cured that of her, at least so far.

"I wasn't that clingy," Miyuki protested.
Even though she did have memories of always wanting to be with him, but she liked playing with her friends too! So she couldn't have been that clingy. Age, had also cured her of trying to layway her father in bed.

Earendil bit his lip so as not to find himself arguing with Miyuki. Of course she wouldn't view herself that way, but she had been very clingy indeed, especially when they had first returned from Gaia. But she was a child, and children really couldn't see past what they understood, so there was no point in pressing the issue.
"So Aurin," he said, changing the subject, "is there anything else to the caves? I saw a few side passages, but you didn't seem inclined to go down those."
"There are a few other crystal caverns," Aurin replied, "but none so grand as the one I showed you. Other than that, it's pretty much the same. It hasn't been fully explored, it's too dangerous ... very easy to get lost, where there are so many passages that all look very much alike."

"You would need some sort of marker to leave as a trail before being able to explore the passage," Lin commented softly.
Then maybe they could be mapped, having caves like these could be useful.

"Yes," Aurin agreed, "though at the moment that is not our priority. In the future, perhaps, but not at the moment."
"Understandable," Earendil mused. "Right now the entire city is in the process of being rebuilt. That would take precedence over anything."

The rest of the lunch proceeded with light conversation between the adults. Most of it of things little children, much less little kitsune girls have trouble understanding. So it was so surprise that Miyuki eventually ended up napping on the picnic blanket.
Something Lin only noticed after the lunch ended, "She's not going to sleep tonight..."

Earendil smiled softly, watching Miyuki, his eyes warm. "Well, perhaps we should call it a day for now," he murmured. "If we've seen all we can anyways ... and I'm sure she'll wake up by the time we get home again. We can begin the preparations for the trip to Nauros, and if she likes I'm sure it would be fine if she plays with Amalirahc and the others again."
After all, just because she had fallen asleep didn't mean she had to stay asleep. And maybe they could still wear her out by nightfall.

"I can take her down," Lin replied, "I do need to get a few things before we go."
Things for Miyuki really, there were some lessons Lin had been putting off but she really shouldn't anymore. Like meditation lessons, Lin hadn't been fond of those as a child and she could imagine Miyuki even less so.

Earendil nodded. "Then I'll work on things from the castle angle," he murmured. "Telling people and collecting supplies. And we're going to have to think of more things to keep Miyuki occupied on the voyage ... it will be several weeks, at the least."
Though with training new sailors for Amon Darthir, it could well be longer.

"Well... I want to start on Miyuki's staff work, she's nine now and really she should be starting weapons work of some sort."
Lin didn't doubt that Miyuki would learn the basics, which one she would decide to keep would be up to her.
"And... maybe it would be better for her to try staff meditation because I seriously don't think she could sit still long enough for normal meditation without driving herself or anyone else crazy."
