Somewhere in the Shinra building, the red head Turk was in his quarters, in a drunken stupor as he flipped through channels of his television. Absently reaching for the glass of Dissarono and Ginger ale. It was a sweet drink, true, but he'd been drinking for the past hour and he couldn't taste the alcohol anymore anyway. Lethargy struck him hard that night in the ShinRa building, he didn't answer his phone when it called, and he was too lazy to get up to get the door, though it didn't knock and no one called. He was dozing part way through yet another rerun of Loveless when the whole building shook from the explosion, sending him falling off the bed he'd been teetering the edge of for the past forty minutes. Shocked completely awake by the fall he jumped up and nearly teetered back to the ground, having to use the bed for support. His hand went for the phone and he had a bit of a time with it but he input the transfer number and his pass code, calling the Turk HQ. Irritated when the automated system answered. "Hello Reno! No one is in the office right now, please hold while we connect you to som-" "Shut up claptrap and just connect me to the nearest active member, stupid computer." "... Alright, please hold while we connect you to .... Cissnei's communication device!" ................................... Reno took the cord off the phone after activating the cordless option, walking around he was trying to sober up as he searched around for a clean uniform. Cradling the phone on his shoulder, with his head, as he slipped his pants on. Stepping into his shoes, he continued searching for a shirt and jacket. ................................................................. "You are now connected! Cissnei has been notified of your page. Please hold a while longer while your party answers!"...........

The explosion that shook the building caused the elevator to shut down, much to Rudes dismay. He stood after the initiatiel impact had settled, adjusted his neck tie to a more comfortable position, and looked out the window. The bald man counted himself lucky that his elevator wasn't plummeting to the ground floor. And though the emergency lights began to flash, he foolishly tried pressing some of the buttons. Well of course they don't work, but it was worth a shot. His mind wandered to where the blast might have come from as he next tried opening the elevator door, which wasn't easy. Five minutes it took for the Turk to see through, five minutes spent in vain as the crack revealed the shaft wall. Between floors it seemed he was. He looked up to the ceiling of the elevator in search of the emergency hatch. The moment it was located he spent the next five minutes trying to open the damn thing, only to find it was locked from the outside by chain. Well that is certainly weird. He landed back on the elevator floor, causing its gears to whine in protest. Staying perfectly still, he waited for his Elevator to stabilize again before straightening. Maybe this was a sign that he should stop being lazy and take the stairs. Slipping out his communicator, he dialed the extension and put in his passcode. The device rang uncharacteristically long before chiming in with the computers voice. "Hello Rude! No one is in the office right now. If you know your parties extention you may enter it now... Or connect to the nearest active agent." "Nearest agent." He said slowlyand clearly, and put a hand in his pocket. "Yes sir. Please hold while a connection is being made........" This was the part that seemed to always take the longest time. While waiting, he began to pace nervously around the elevator, taking easy steps so not to disturb its balance. "Thank you for holding. A page has been placed on..... Reno's communication device. Please holds while your party answers." With a heavy sigh of slight annoyance and relief, he quit his pacing and leaned up against the window rail, only to hear the metal cry out once more. "You better answer......"

OOC: Sure.
..... The phone kept ringing, until finally: "I'm sorry, Reno. Your party could not be reached. If you know your party's extension, you may enter it now or ha-." Reno hung the phone up, "Damn it Ciss." He muttered, "Communication is the first thing you turn on in a crisis." Hanging up the cordless phone he looked to the counter, which had a shirt laying on it. Reno picked it up and sniffed it for a moment, it still smelled okay so he put it on, pausing with his arm still only partway through when his cellphone rang loudly back in the bedroom. Slipping on the shirt he forked around for the phone swiftly, locating it by ear. Finally finding it, he looked at the caller ID and answered the phone. "Hello Reno! Rude is trying to page you, let me connect you...." Said the automated piece of -"You are connected!"
"Yo, Rude. You know what the hell is goin on out there'r wat?!" He spouted angrily into the phone, still drunk enough that his words slurred somewhat.

Upon hearing his partners voice, Rude let out the breath he was holding. Though it could not be seen, he gave a shrug to Reno's question. Judging by the mash of words the red head had to have been drunk. That dropped his hopes quicker than a bowling ball dropped from fort Condor. "Beats me." The elevator shrieked as he took a step toward the elevator door. Any moment now he expected it to lose tension on its cables and carry him to his maker. "Listen... I need a favor..." He trailed of as he tried to spot the floor and section of the building he was in. "Come get me out of the elevator.... And put on some clothes on. The entire corporation doesn't need to see you trotting around in your birthday suit."

A grin passed across Reno's face, though Rude wouldn't see the grin, he'd probably hear it in his voice. "Ha! Jokes on you, shortbus! I have clothes on!" He laughed, shaking his head, though Rude couldn't see that either. "Now you said yer stuck in an elevator, eh?" The red headed Turk frowned at Rude, "A'right, gimme a bit, partner." He hung up, typing in his code again as he grabbed a gun and EMR from the coat rack where for normal people a jacket would hang. One such object was not perched on the rack. He strapped on the gun, and after grabbing his keycard, he walked out of the apartment, locking it behind him. "Hello, Reno! No one is in the off-" "Shut up Glados and give me Rude's coordinates." After being linked Rude's coordinates in the building he used the stairs to get to the nearest floor he was on. Getting the help of a passing janitor he got rope and decided to descend onto the elevator with it. Once he landed on the elevator, he examined the chain locking the hatch. The janitor had a chain cutter, and they used it to cut the chains off. While the janitor was doing his magic, Reno tried again to get into contact with Cissnei.

Reno didn't even give him a chance to rely his coordinates before he hung up, but whatever. He chuckled and placed his phone in his pocket. Though he tired to stop himself, he begun pacing again. And to his relief, the shaft stopped its strange croaking in favor of utter silence. Good, he preferred it that way. When he heard them in the shaft and messing with the hatch, he straighten up and waited for it to open. The moment it did he jumped and climbed out and straighten his tie. Looking to Reno, he gave the man a nod. Though he didn't say it, he looked to Reno, then to the watch on his wrist, implying his partner took to long. "Any update on the situation?"

(OOC: Honestly because there were absolutely no follow ups on this besides you, Rude, there isn't much to do with this scene. If we don't have anyone to contact or atmospheric posts going on, we can't gauge what is happening and.. well therefore we are stuck in an indefinite time lock on the scene. Making both characters unplayable unless there is a third party intervention. And since that is lame as fu.ck all I can really suggest is fading to black. Otherwise we would be stuck on this thread with nothing to write. Shame there isn't a way to have them find out whats happening.)

((alright, sorry about all that mess guys. I am basically the one who ends up running a lot of the NPC's here in the tower, and I have been distracted by work on another guild. I lost track of the tower just like I lost track of the Mansion, and now that it's made it's way back to where I can see it I remember it XD Yes, I know, it's weird, but I hadn't expected anyone to start posting here back when the lockdown started, since it was mostly an ambiance post. Anyways, if you two are actually still here then I'll send an NPC down. If not, then... I suppose you can just ignore this post.))

((alright, thanks for waiting.))
Reno and Rude wouldn't have been outside the elevator for long when a random Turk found them. This Turk had been sent to check along several floors, and call everyone together for a actual briefing thing, since the explosion outside had disrupted a lot of the communications. The PA wasn't working, and it was surprising that Reno and Rude had been able to connect with the central computer and to each other, as a lot of the other communication equipment was on the fritz.
So the random Turk was heading down a hallway towards the stairs to move on to the next floor when he saw Reno and Rude near the elevator. "Hey, you two! Were getting people together two floors down for some information. The communication systems and elevators are out, and right now it seems like there's been some kind of explosion in the city. You should head down there, see if they know anything more." He said. He obviously knew who the two were, it was kind of hard to mistake Reno or Rude for anybody else even all the way down the hall. But he still needed to check the next several floors for people, so he didn't have time to stop and chat, or head down there with them.
