Train them together? Well Raz was a lot stronger then Ace at the moment but it could probably work. Those two were some of her smarter pokemon and she was sure they could train without hurting each other to much. "All right, those two are pretty good and I am sure they could get along so training shouldn't be a problem."
"We can work on your pokemon training skills later. Let's talk about your last pokemon, your Slowpoke. Since its problem should be fixed it should at least be able to react to your commands on time. However Slowpokes are slow as the name imply's, you are used to fast and strong pokemon, your going to have to adjust to a different style of fighting when you use him. Unlike your other pokemon Slowpoke can take a few hits and still stay up so try to use that to your advantage." Tony paused to make sure that Robin was listening and was satisfied that he had her full attention other then the fact she was still working on Black*Star. "Did you decide what you will evolve your Slowpoke into?"
"Eh? I get a choice on what to evolve him into? I thought they just went into Slowbros." This was news to her even if she had a feeling that she should have known this a long time ago.
"This isn't recent news Robin, your from Johto aren't you? They do mining for the Kings Rock they need to use to evolve into other forms their." Tony couldn't help but not be surprised as his student displayed her ignorance once more. "Ok, Slowpokes can evolve into either Slowbro or Slowking."
"Wow he can evolve into a king!"
"Don't interrupt me Robin."
"Sorry."
"Right so Slowpoke can evolve into one of those two. Slowbro is more defensive, it is basically a bigger Slowpoke but with a large shield on its tail. If you want your Slowpoke to evolve into one of these I recommend you start letting yours fish for Shellder with its tail. Slowking however is a different breed of pokemon. He isn't faster however he is a lot smarter. Their intellect is said to rival even the smartest people on the planet. Unlike Slowbro they use their intelligence in battle instead of instinct." The more Tony Tony thought about it the more determined he was to get her to evolve her Slowpoke into a Slowking. This girl was going to need a voice of reason if she was going to last much longer in the world. "Slowkings also have a cool hat and can talk to you."
Upon hearing that last bit Robin's eyes widened, she had been leaning towards Slowbro but the news of a cool hat and a talking pokemon sealed the deal shut for her in the total opposite direction. Slowking it was! That is if Slowpoke wanted to evolve into it. "A cool hat and a talking pokemon! Oh wow! As long as it is ok with Slowpoke its ok with me!" Without waiting for Tony's approval Robin grabbed Slowpokes pokeball from the tie on her waist and released the dopey pokemon. "Hey Slowpoke! I just found something out!" The dopey pokemon blinked at her as it stared for a moment before grinning at her, a grin that Robin promptly returned. "I just found out you can evolve into two things! You can choose to go into a Slowbro where you get a big thing on your tail or you can turn into a Slowking where your smart and get a cool hat."

"....I can see that. Congratulations." Shiro really didn't know what to say here. A new pokemon wasn't something uncommon for traveling trainers, it was expected really. Crenu wasn't sure what would jump out of Riza's pokeball, but a Dratini was the last thing he expected to see. The only true dragon of the Kanto region, and a powerful pokemon with the ability to decimate anything in it's path. How in the world Riza managed to obtain such a rare pokemon between her battle with Fatina and now was beyond him, as far as he knew Dratini weren't native to this area of Kanto. In fact, other than Blackthorne he wasn't sure Dratini were ever seen in the wild save for a really rare sighting from time to time. But whatever the explanation, the facts were present: There was a Dratini in the pokemon center hiding behind a couch, and Riza was crawling around trying to coax it out. Not a common sigh anywhere he was sure. "Faustus..." Crenu said as he approached the pair. This Dratini was really timid, he reminded him a lot of Froslass when he first found her. And though Froslass wasn't completely cured of her nerves she was much better around people and pokemon now. "What's the deal with naming your pokemon? It doesn't offer any tactical advantages in battle, doesn't strengthen your pokemon, yet just about every trainer I've met names their pokemon. Why?" Crenu wasn't trying to be insulting or anything, he was genuinely curious. Maybe he was wrong, maybe it did do something for the pokemon. But he was pretty sure it was just aesthetics. Crenu thought about his pokemon, what would he name them if he decided to give them nicknames? Pupitar could be...Pupitar. Hmm, ok Poliwhirl could be...Poliwhirl. Yeah, nothing. He couldn't imagine giving his pokemon names, he just didn't see the point. Whatever the reason for nicknames, he just couldn't get behind it.

Jett was feeling especially wily today, and he was glad that he had taught both of his Pokemon some unusual tricks. "River, I know you're scared, but I want you to use Confusion!"
River was, in fact, scared, but when she heard the "Tackle!" and then "Confusion!", she knew exactly what to do. The little Pokemon stood her ground, charging up all her energy. And when the Geodude came within one foot of her, she blasted the thing with a Confusion, hoping that it would knock the Rock-type back so she wouldn't have to get tackled. That thing looked painful.
"Very nice, River! Hang in there!"
---
"We will be arriving in Saffron City within ten minutes," a cool voice echoed across the train.
Amy, however, was fast asleep, dreaming of contests and Woopers and one particularly nasty Psyduck.
"Miss," a woman next to Amy whispered. "Miss, wake up!" She nudged the girl.
"W-what?" Amy asked groggily, and her eyes immediately snapped open. "O-oh! I'm sorry, I just..."
"No, no, it's fine," the woman smiled. "I just wanted to wake you up because we'll be arriving in Saffron soon... pardon my intrusiveness, but what're you heading for? You've been clutching your Pokeballs with your life for the past few hours."
Amy had been clutching Flora and Marshall's Pokeballs indeed. She glanced down and smiled some. "There's this contest in Cerulean... it'll be my first," she explained, adjusting her glasses. "I suppose I'm just very... nervous."
"Well," the woman said with a sly smile, "I'm sure you'll have no problem! I better be getting ready." She stood, reaching for her bags. "Good luck with your contest!"
"Thank you!" Amy called, storing away her Pokeballs. "It was nice meeting you!" Although she hadn't really met the woman and she just pretty much talked about herself for the small conversation, but it was still nice to talk to someone. "All right, I guess I should let Flora out first... we can train a bit on the way there."

"Gardenia!" a voice wailed. Another girl soon appeared through the brush. She wore a pair of rectangular glasses and held a flag in each hand. "I'll be judging this match, it will be three on three, no items are allowed, and the challenger may substitute Pokemon but the Leader may not," the girl spoke, her words running over a mile a minute. She took a well deserved deep breath before shouting "Go!" Though by the time she had finished Katie's Roselia was already prepping for the battle. Oh, Gardenia, she was always in such a rush to start these battles, her enthusiasm was quite a bit at time.
"I'm sorry Suki! I always forget!" Gardenia apologized, laughing a bit. She turned back to her challenger, "You just don't look like a Katherine to me. Nope!"
Katie's Roselia soon appeared on the field. "Ooooooh," the Grass Gym Leader cooed, "What a lovely choice of Pokemon! Though it would have bee so much more interesting if you would've saved her for battle later." She pouted a bit, thinking about the possible Roselia versus Roserade battle. Katie's Roselia took the advantage of the first move to use Growth. Now was a good time as any. "Cherrim! Use your Sunny Day!" Gardenia commanded.
Cherrim nodded, or so it could be assumed. The sunlight poured into the the Gym intensely, turning the comfortable weather just a tad uncomfortable. Cherrim's form began to change, it began to blossom. The strong sunlight coaxed the petals to open up and outwards revealing a pink Pokemon. It was star shaped with five pink and pointed cherry blossom petals, a yellow face with a smile, two pink orbs on it's head and it looked like it was wearing a matching pink dress. In other word, it was adorable! The Pokemon soaked in the sunlight, enjoying the rays of sunshine. ((Edited.))

"This place is huge," Amy commented, carrying Flora as they wandered through Saffron City. She cast a glance toward Saffron Hospital, before she stopped in her tracks, merely gazing at the building.
"Chiko?" Flora chirped, staring. It was an impressive building, yes, but there wasn't much to it.
"Sorry," Amy blinked, turning back to strolling down the street. "I just had... some weird feeling... Maybe I don't like hospitals very much." She continued on her way, passing various buildings of many interests. "I remember the route to Cerulean being the north exit... so..."
They turned the corner and immediately started heading toward the gym. "This should be the way!" she said, eyes open for any interesting looking trainers. At this point, she wouldn't be surprised to find another coordinator.
Amy made another left as she neared the gym, frowning slightly as the sun cast a glare upon her glasses. Wait, Amy thought, stopping once more. If the sun is out... then the night passed... Today's the 4th!
"The contest is tonight!" Amy cried, suddenly rushing down the much smaller path toward the familiar guard building. She merely rushed through that, too, and when they arrived on Route 5, she placed Flora on the ground. "W-we're gonna run! To Cerulean!"
"Chikorii!" Flora exclaimed, immediately sprinting off. "Chiko, chiko!"
Amy kept pace with her energic Pokemon, practically strangling her uncooperative bag as it swung around.
"So, here's my plan for our opening appeal..."

"Ha... ha... ha..." Amy stumbled forward, finally stopping when Cerulean was well within sight. It wouldn't take long to reach there, and when she checked the time on her PokeNav, she discovered that there were many hours to spare.
So Amy decided it was lunch/training time.
"Marshall, come on out!" she called, tossing the Pokeball into the air with an added flourish.
"Woopah!" Marshall had picked up on the vibe, and as he emerged from his shelter, he spun and landed with a little bow, offering the invisible audience his widest grin. "Woop, woop, woopah!"
"Really nice!" Amy offered her applause, smiling. "I'm glad I packed these before we left..." she murmured, retrieving two cans of Pokemon food from her bag. Then she produced a bottle of water and another apple.
"So, let's check your levels," she said, crunching into her apple. Dex informed her that Flora was level 13, while Marshall was level 9. "Two more levels... Ooh! New moves!" For both of the Pokemon, too. "We'll check those out first..."
---
"Okay, Flora, you first!" Amy said, staring at her Chikorita. "I want you to try a move called Synthesis, okay?"
Flora tilted her head, but the command seemed familiar, so she tried. Immediately, the Leaf Pokemon glowed a pretty shade of green, and with a dramatic hair (leaf, actually) flip, the glow broke, leaving a small series of green sparkles about her. "Chikorii!" She felt much healthier and stronger now!
"Wow," Amy stared, watching the glistening gradually vanish. "We could make use of that someday... Okay, Marshall! Try Mud Shot, please!"
Marshall simply stared. His mouth opened wide, but nothing came out save for a drawn out "Wooooop." Then he used Water Gun, which was better than nothing, and sat down, pleased with himself.
"...We'll work on that later," Amy said, still smiling at Marshall. "Okay, Flora! I want you to use the environment around you to make an appeal!"
"Chiko!" Flora was excited. It was a challenge, and she did love a good challenge in making something beautiful. Finally, she used her Razor Leaf to chop off a bunch of leaves. "Chiko!" Another Razor Leaf helped guide the descending leaves into a tornado.
The Leaf Pokemon leapt into the center of the flurry of leaves, flipping once before she posed, leaf twirling as she gave her brightest smile to her audience. "Chikorita!"
"That was great!" Amy cheered, giving her friend a big hug. "I'm sure we'll have no problem in this contest!" That is, if we can even enter... Amy worried in the back of her mind. I need to get her up two more levels before tonight...

Jun arrived at his client's house with no other difficulties. With no hesitation he pressed the doorbell with one skinny, long finger, and before long was let inside the cozy abode.
The conversation was largely business, so nothing too spectacular need be told, save for that Posh's designer dresses line would debut at the fashion show in Jubilife that his client was having for her own fall collection. The woman, Betsey Johnson, had taken quite a interest in Posh's designs and was quite willing to sponsor her under her own company. "However," she said, addressing both Jun and the Roselia, "I don't currently have the funds to turn your creations into reality. You will have to bring the dresses to your show yourselves, if you will."
Those conditions were perfectly fine to Jun, who had been assigned as the head coordinator and thus had already received a small down payment. Not enough to make Posh's luxurious dresses, but he'd find a way to make money somehow.
A memory - a dark-browed man in a suit, hovering threateningly over Jun, eyes smoldering with anger and, less noticeably, the pain of rejection. 'You won't make it in the fashion biz without me! I'll crush your future.'
Jun scoffed. "We'll see about that." It had taken a while to find a sponsor out of that man's jurisdiction, but he had finally found one for Posh. She was going to be a star, he knew it. But now, for money... They were going to have to be a little inventive.
The captain was a little intimidating and anti-social, but all in all he appeared to be a sweet man. Awkward and rough around the edges, yes, but Mary-Anne could see the good intentions behind the lukewarm tea in the chipped teacups, and so drank without complaining.
"You remind me of my daughter," he said abruptly. Not that scrawny Mary-Anne looked anything like the robust daughter whose wedding he had missed due to his new found fear of the sea. She hadn't talked to him since. But her eyes were the same foggy blue that M.A.'s were.
"Pardon?" she asked.
"Nevermind," he muttered, sulking behind his own cup of coffee. "You wanted to know about that artist? To be honest, I don't know that much about him, or where he's gone. But I'll tell you what I do know," he said, his voice gruff and choppy.
"Please," she said with a small smile.
"Over a year ago. Yes. We were sent on an expedition to scout out a safe route to Sinnoh. We were told it'd be a rough trip, so most of us left our family alone, except for some guy who planned to live here with his little daughter once they arrived. Come to think of it, the artist guy did mention leaving a Pokemon behind. Could've been a Smeargle, I don't remember the details.
"The seas from Hoenn to Sinnoh had the capricious temper of a gypsy. We mapped areas where the currents were violent, where there was smooth sailing. Rocks randomly jutting from ledges that appeared out of nowhere in the mist. But that painter, he worked through all the elements. Was a genius with his work too, even an uneducated man like me could see it," the man chuckled dryly, more out of self-deprecation than of amusement for his tale.
"We weren't far from Canalave when the heavens decided to raise hell; hurricanes, whirlpools, everything was determined to bring us down. We resisted for a while; it was hard, but we thought we'd manage. Our navigator was brilliant, sharply helping me pass all the blockades until, whilst snatching that one child away from the sides of the ship, fell into the seas herself.
"Things turned south from there on. Another smaller boat, struck by lightning and on fire, crashed into our ship out of the blue... It was hopeless, with all the elements against us. I was good at my craft, but not when I had no control over it. By the time we could deploy lifeboats, half of my men were lost. And only one lifeboat made it to Sinnoh, the one with myself, the child, and the artist.
"I was unconscious a week, and by the time I came to, the artist and the kid were gone. He was apparently the kid's uncle or something, was gonna take care of her in his brother's stead. Don't know where he went. However, about a couple months ago, outside Jubilife, I saw some hooded fella heading up the woods up the old trails to the mountain. It was raining, like tonight, so I called out to him, told him the mudslides would be dangerous. He turned a little, and I could've sworn I saw -- he had a distinctively crooked nose, right? Mind, his face had been a little disfigured by the fire and he had a cloak on, but... I don't have another lead for you."
His story now told, the captain leaned back, exhausted from using more words than he had for the last year.

Faustus sniffed at the girl's hand again, mulling his new name over in his mind. The nice Dragon Lady had told him that he would be meeting his trainer soon, and he guessed this was her, seeing as she'd been the next person to release him, and she'd named him. He cooed lightly and poked his head out of his hiding place, studying the girl intently. He contemplated coming out but then he caught sight of the tall scary blonde boy and quickly ducked for cover again.
Riza sighed and looked over her shoulder at Crenu, still down on all fours. "Great, you scared him," she grumbled, leaning back and sitting cross-legged on the floor, turning back to the Dragon still cowering behind the couch. "It's okay, he's not gonna hurt you either, he's my friend," she said, though poor Faustus wasn't convinced. Riza looked up at Crenu as he inquired about names, and she shrugged. "I don't know," she answered honestly. "When I first started out, I didn't name any of my Pokemon, remember? I didn't have the desire to name any of my Pokemon until after I spent some time around a few trainers who did, like Serenity and Keegan and even Kasiya." Her tone was a little sour as she said the last name, but she shrugged. "And I guess it doesn't really offer any advantages, other than giving your Pokemon a sense of their own identity. I mean, it could get confusing if your Pokemon was battling another of its kind. I dunno." She shrugged again. "I guess it's different for all trainers. There's no law that says you have to name them. Besides, I think my Pokemons' names are great!" She smiled up at Shiro, certain she hadn't really answered his question, but at the same time she felt no need to justify the naming of her Pokemon. At that point she glanced at the clock on the wall. It was much later than she'd thought by now, as she and Crenu had both spent the better part of the day in training. The sun was already starting to make its journey behind the horizon and the skies were turning reddish. "Wow, I think we missed two meals today," she muttered idly. * * * * * Katie grinned and held her arm up to shield her eyes from the sun. The suddenly intensified rays of the sun made her wince and she hoped she wouldn't get sunburned. The Cherrim was quite adorable now that the sunlight had caused it to blossom, and Katie figured that it would somehow become a little more dangerous. She wished she'd bothered to study up on grass-type Pokemon a bit more before she started, but it was too late to dwell on that now. She smiled, deciding that she wasn't going to hold back.
"Seraphim, give 'em a taste of your Sludge Bomb," she called, flipping an orange ponytail over her shoulder. The Roselia nodded and took a few graceful steps, thrusting her blue rose forward. A large ball of bright purple sludge formed and was flung with good speed towards the blossomed Cherrim, her increased special attack adding a bit of extra oomph behind it. * * * * * Roxanne frowned and shook her head. Despite her Geodude's massively increased speed she still wasn't fast enough to get a hit in before the Ralts' confusion went off. "Nice job, Geodude," she sad as she recalled the fainted rock-type. In truth, she was quite proud of the Pokemon, as it often was unable to pull off the first win. "Let's see how well you fare against this one," she said. "Nosepass, it's up to you now!" She tossed out the sphere that held her final Pokemon, and the Compass Pokemon appeared in a flash of light, its two arms waving back and forth. "Rock Tomb!" the gym leader called, deciding to act quickly so that she could possibly catch Jett and River by surprise.
"Nooooose!" the female Nosepass cried, her arms still swinging wildly around her. They glowed slightly as more stone spears began to shoot out of the ground around the Ralts. Roxanne did know that these Pokemon could not take very many hits, so she hoped to hit hard and fast.

Well, Roxanne had decided to surprise them. Jett's mind worked quickly, and only one solution came to mind. "River, quickly! Teleport onto his head!"
River was scared by this new Pokemon, and then Jett was yelling. What? What was happening? Nonetheless, she teleported, feeling something scratch at her arms and legs as she disappeared.
The Feeling Pokemon reappeared on the Nosepass's head, clinging to it for dear life. Teleport really did give her a headache, and she guessed that she probably had once more use out of it before she was done.

'Teleport, always annoying,' Roxanne thought, though she was sure she saw the Ralts get lightly clipped by one of the rocks before it vanished. "Nosepass! On your head!" she shouted, looking quickly to her Pokemon as the tiny white and green Pokemon had indeed reappeared atop the Compass Pokemon, looking a bit dazed. "Grab it and give it a tackle!" the gym leader shouted.
"Nose nose!" Nosepass cried, reaching up with its arms to grab the white Pokemon. She then proceeded to throw herself to the ground, twisting around so that hopefully the Ralts would cushion the impact, though not that the fall would really harm the rock-type all that much.

River thought Jett was so clever.
Then the thing grabbed her and she could not move.
Jett watched in almost horror, but he was too busy thinking his way out of the situation. "Confusion!"
As the Nosepass fell down, River let out another shrill shriek and blasted the Confusion at her skull, mostly trying to blast herself away. Had she been successful, the Feeling Pokemon would immediately distance herself, panting heavily.
Jett watched with wide eyes, the outcome of the battle growing clearer with each passing moment. This woman was good. Finally, he smiled in spite of it all. "Are items allowed?" She's got us on the defense...

"Stay strong!" Roxanne shouted. Her Nosepass wasn't very strong offensively, but defensively, she could take quite a few hits.
The Compass Pokemon let out a pained "Noooose!" as the psychic attack blasted her, but she held on tightly and tried to follow through with her tackle, landing semi gracefully on the gym's rocky floor, successful hit or not. "Nose!" she cried, shaking her body almost fitfully. Psychic-type attacks always made her body feel kind of tingly.
"Let's try that new move we've been working on," Roxanne then called. "Sandstorm, Nosepass! Go!" Not many rookie trainers knew how to handle their Pokemon in a Sandstorm, and what with the Ralts' teleporting ability, both she and Nosepass would be happy to settle for passive damage over the next five turns. Nosepass did a little dance and spun around, creating a twister around her body that quickly gathered momentum, picking up bits of grit and sand and slinging them around in the whirlwind. Soon, a vicious Sandstorm was raging through the arena.

Sandstorm was not good. Not good at all. "River?" Jett called to the trembling Ralts. "River, we can give up if you want..."
River wasn't trembling with fear. It was with anger and the more she trembled, the more little pebbles around her began to twitch around. She grit her teeth, shook her head no, and took the little bit of damage from the sandstorm.
"Well, then," Jett called, grinning. "Let's give 'em one hell of a fight!" He knew he had to land quite a few more hits, but if that Nosepass got confused, their chances were brightened. "I want you to charge it!"
River nodded, charging without hesitation into the sandstorm, ignoring the scratching of the sand and pebbles. She charged right at that Nosepass, giving the Compass Pokemon her best glare.

“Well, good effort Yokai.” Claire mused as she recalled her Pokemon. “You're up next Kokoro.” With a swift toss the Pokeball was launched into the air and out came the fire mouse. Although she was glad to be out, the Cyndaquil was still uneasy about the situation and her trainer. She quickly moved over to Claire and tugged at her pant leg letting out a happy ‘quil’.
“Uh… right.” Claire said, she didn’t really know what was up with this one. The poor Cyndaquil was pretty clingy for some reason, but it didn’t seem normal. At least, she didn’t think it was normal… not that she could remember what the Pokemon was like before her apparent brain damage. “Okay, let’s just try to focus on our training.” Claire said as she pointed to the arena.
The mouse sighed. I don’t think she’s back to normal yet… too bad no one around here is trustworthy… Oh well, battle time. Kokoro was ready to battle if she needed to! No one else would keep Claire somewhat reasonable in this crazy situation!
”Hiya Kokoro-ro!” Yang thought-spoke to the people around her. “I hope you’re ready for some training!”
“You better be ready because we’re going to take you down!” Moti added with a dramatic flourish. Espeon took a battle stance, awaiting orders.
Kokoro-ro? The Cyndaquil stuttered to herself. Okay, these two were certainly characters. Although she could tell that the Espeon in front of her was much more powerful than her, it didn’t seem like they were the rest of the Rockets she had encountered thus far. They almost seemed like they could’ve been decent people at some point, before joining Team Rocket anyway.
“Yeah, they’re a little… strange. But we’re not going to back down! Kokoro, start things off with your Ember attack, just like we practiced!” Claire added. The fire mouse quickly complied and let off a few short bursts of fire at her enemy.
”Oh, that really hurts Claire! We’re not that odd!” Moti exclaimed while he clutched at his poor, broken heart. “Espeon! Let’s dodge with Quick Attack!” And so Yang proceeded to move across the arena with the telltale white light of her speedy move, effectively avoiding each of the firey blasts sent her way.

'Now they're making it too easy,' Roxanne thought with a devious smile. Nosepass was completely unhindered by the Sandstorm and stood, lightly moving her arms as she awaited her trainer's next orders. "Nosepass, give 'em a Rock Throw!" she shouted. With any luck, the blinding sands would make it hard for the Ralts to see this one coming.
"Nose!" Nosepass yelled in confirmation, quickly snatching a good sized rock from the ground. She reared back and hurled it at the charging Ralts with all her might.
