Sin laughed and smiled at Issildia.

"hey now, the way you make it sound, it's like we won't be fighting agenst death ourselfs... I'm sure as heck not going to let you fight for my life by yourself..."

He smiled and looked ahead of them towards the distance searching for something.

"so when will we be able to see this forest?"
PostPosted: Tue Aug 01, 2006 2:14 pm

"Within the hour." she replied.

It was at that moment that a brief rush of air heralded Kyrion's return as he landed no more than a few yards ahead of them.

"Larovian forces have cleared the Heriden mountains, they now pass through the Anierian ruins!" they azerian reported in a controlled yet urgent tone.

Issildia brought her horse to a halt as Kyrion alerted them to what could prove to be a most frustration dilemma.

"What is their pace?"

"Far faster a pace than what you are moving at now." he replied with slight disdain.

Issildia frowned, she had hoped to save the horses' strength for the journey into the forest, but now they had little choice.

"Let's go...Asca." At her final word the horse leapt forward into a much faster gait. Kyrion leapt into the air in a single graceful movement, spiraling higher to remain ever watchful as they continued on.

"HEYAH!!!"

Sin snapped his reigns and urged his horse to follow alongside Isslidia's.

"i'm guessing this lights a fire undernith us to get though this forest faster huh...?"
PostPosted: Tue Aug 01, 2006 6:59 pm

"I suppose you could say that." Issildia responded as their pace hastened into a gallop, the landscape quickly passing by until soon enough a dark shadow could be seen blanketing the horizon. As they approached the air took on an unusual chill, Issildia regarded this with silence while they continued on until they came upon the fabled Forest of 1000 souls.

The dark wood loomed ahead of them like fell creature with it's gaping maw spread wide to consume them. The horses became skittish as well, immediately rearing up in attempt to flee as soon as their riders dismounted.

Kyrion soon landed a matter of yards from them and slowly approached.
"The larovians are no less than half a day's swift walk from our current position...and a number of them are not moving on foot." he comment as Issildia's horse feinted back again as she attempted to calm it.
Silently Kyrion approached the frightened creature and set his hand upon its brow, while muttering something under his breath. The reaction was immediate as the destrier ceased its fearful attempts to escape and became still.
After only a matter of moment he withdrew his hand, Issildia looking at him with a curious expression. "You speak with beasts Kyrion." she said in a sarcastic manner.
"No." he countered swiftly. "I simply have the patience to listen...unlike some."

~Malkaia could not believe what he had witnessed with his own eyes as the man that stood in front on him, suddenly stood normally. He was obviously more powerful than the three of them combined, as he almost effortlessly defeated Azrielle. He Wiped his fangs of the blood, and picked up Azrielle's long coat, which was all that remainedof the fallen prince. As he turned to address Malkaia, Aschera drew his blade and lunged it straight into his flesh, the tip enterring through his back, and exitting through his abdomen. Miraculously, the man did not flinch at all. He only turned around and grabbed Aschera by the throat lifting him high off of the ground. It was then that Darsha began to move in for an attack, but he found his movements halted by Aschera's body being hurled into his own at an incredible velocity. They had left the chamber, and the man made a motion of his arm, causing the doors to his chamber to close isolating himself and Malkaia from the others.~

So long I have waited to awaken once more. You, Malkaia will return to me what is rightfully mine.

I will not be fooled by my brother's voice.

This is not an attack on your mental being. No. This is the truth. Hmph. I am not surprised that they did not explain to you your origins. Your service to that maggot has blinded your eyes from your true destiny.

You speak ouof line.

No. What I speak is the true nature of your being. The fate that has been written long ago. You and Azrielle are a part of me. You contain the power which was separated from my body. Your assimliation will be part of something far greater than you can imagine. Do not resist Malkaia, I would hate to damage my own flesh again.

What I do know is that my life is my own.

You live in denial. Your entire existence was the product of Akurei's jealousy. You were never meant to awaken from your slumber. Darsha just happened to find you before my people were able to. Your blood knows the truth, it speaks to me. I can see your skin crawling...it is calling out...it longs to be returned to that which it once was. Do not resist.

You are nothing but a savage. I will kill myself befoe I allow you to imprison me inside your twisted shell.

You just do not understand do you. You are only an incarnation of my power. Your soul is false. To imprison you is to release the force which binds you to your current form. You will only return to your original state of being.

Not interested.

You disappoint me. I would have thought that you were the wiser of the two. But it seems that you will only follow the path of your foolish borhter.

We shall see about that. You still have yet to introduce yourself.

I surprised you do nit recognize me. You truely are lost.

That does not answer my question.

Your blood knows the answer. twisted

What did you say?

No more questions. Time to run...Time to scream....Time to die. twisted

~As he finished his statement, Malkaia sprung back into action. He held his blade in front of him the blade pointing downward, as he charged at the man before him. His eyes had begun to glow a fiery orange as he proceeded to his position. On the outside of the chamber, Darsha and Aschera were desperately attempting to find a way inside the chamber. It seemed that they both had reasons of their own for not wanting the man to leave the city. His power was almost the exact opposite of what was felt from Akurei Takinowa, but there were also astounding similarities. It was undetermined to what the connection was, but they had neither the time nor the patience to find the answer at this moment, their only objective a thtis point was to aid Darsha's vassel who was obviously no match for this man alone.~

(( xp Finally, you have reached the forest of 1000 souls. Time to introduce my character's first post.))

Crimson's screams of pain became louder and worse with every passing second. Re-birth was a painful process, especially with no help. Finally, after what felt like an eternity, the screams and the pain stopped. Crimson raised his head. He used the very darkness within the forest to create an outfit for him. It would protect little other than his modesty, but it was better than nothing. He felt cold, but it felt good, like a cold breeze on a blisteringly hot summers day.

Crimson opened his eyes and raised his head. He looked around himself. He realsed that if someone were to attack him, he would have no defense. He wondered if the weapons of his past life were still were he had kept them.

He placed his hand an inch away from the ground, as if his hand were a metal detector. He eventually stopped and began digging with a nearby twig.

Eventually, Crimson hit something. It was a long metal box. Crimson waved his hand over it and it opened. Inside was his sword and his staff. He smiled. His old clothes were also in there.
"Finally." he said to himself. He dressed himself, sheathed his weapon and used the staff to get out of the hole in the ground. He then sat by the tree and waited, but he wasn't sure what he was waiting for. Eventually, he fell asleep, as he had endured a lot of pain and worked hard to dig that hole with little more than a twig.

As he slept, he dreamed of the life of Streak, seeing his life through his eyes. The dream felt as long as a life-time, as that was what he as dreaming of, and their were some strange blank spaces, but in truth, he only slept for 2 hours.

He woke up with a jerk as the last image of Streak's death came to him. His mind began to take apart what he had seen, break it down to make it easier. He would know it all soon enough.

"how will the forest effect the larovian's approach? I can't imagen that they would carelessly venture into this forest...."

Sin stay'd on his horse as it bucked a few times and leand over over near it's head wispering a few things and smileing as the roan calmed down slightly but stil clopped it's feet nervously.

"I don't know how useful our horses will be in there...."

"I am certain that my father will have a number of skilled necromancers with him...they will manage well enough I would imagine...though yes the forest will hinder their approach." Issildia said distantly as she along with Kyrion slowly walked into the shadow of the forest. Issildia's horse reluctantly following, though remained close to the azerian.

Shadows drifted through the faint grey atmosphere that permeated the forest, shadows that seemed to posses some sort of intelligence in their movements.

Issildia looked at the path before them with disdain,
"I really do hate this place." she muttered to herself.

"A point that we can both agree on." Kyrion comment in the same disdainful manner as they advanced eastward into the forest.

Khastur gripped his sword in his right hand, with the horse's reins in his left. Scanning his eyes from left to right, he looked about the forest slowly-- much evil lurked here... His horse was trained to be suited for the needs of a templar, and therefore shew no fear to the powers of evil, striding into the forest proudly with it's head high, ready to lead it's rider to a holy war.

Sin gently urged his horse onwards and it nervously started to catch up with the other horse, chooseing to be with others then alone with Sin in this forest. Sin looked at the trees as they almost seemed to grow and tower over them as the got closer and closer to the forest.

"I assume you know enough of necromancy...or at least the art of combating it, to be of some use here Khastur." Issildia said as all light cast by the sky above was blotted out by the surrounding forest. She could sense the shadows drifting about the forest, tracking their progress as they traveled. All to soon what hunted them would reveal their true forms and attempt to drain the life from their prey in order to sustain their existence in the realm of Life. For such actions were the only means of survivial for the Dead...

Nodded slowly "It'll be the latter I know Issildia, and to save our hides." Drawing his blade slowly he tensed the muscles in his arms holding the sword at hip length as he closed his eyes and began to chant.

"Razed by the holy power of light, this forest will come set aflame to those who call it home-- all dark things in the prescence of our father will become the shadow not the overbearing night and stay behind to be walked upon by holy father's followers; to those prying eyes know to attack father's flock is to suffer his wrath, to be cut down as cattle."

The shadows hanging at the edges of their vision shrank back at Khastur's spell. Issildia offered only a brief nod in thanks.

"I can banish them back to their realm need be...though any act of necromancy in this forest is dangerous and difficult with the wards in place here. I would prefer not to take such chances yet. "
PostPosted: Wed Aug 02, 2006 8:34 pm

"Then I'd advise against using it as long as we can..I'll do my best from this end." Looking up he let his mind wander since no present danger presented itself he decided to spark conversation "What..Happened to Sylph? Just curious.."

"She was taken." Issildia replied in a flat tone.

"And the road we are now on...leads to where I believe her to be...should she still be alive." Her tone was not one of remose as she spoke of the former council woman of Keirdon, quite frankily it was one of cynacism.
