Elle shook her head. "The last thing I remember was the night Hagrid took me to Kingsley's. We met Professor McGonagol there and they covninced him he was the only one that could protect me...from the Death Eates." she paused a moment to take in a deep breath. "The first nights I was there I remember these horrible nightmares with people screaming these horrible screams and flashes of green light. And then it would feel like snakes were crawling through my bed and hissing things in my ears." she paused again to hold her emotions in. "I was scared to run to Kingsley's room because I knew he thought I was an inconvenience. Something he had to put up with until I was old enough to come here. To Hogwarts.". Then she ran hwer fingers through her hair and pulled herself back to reality and to the present.

Cam listened to her story. It was hard to imagine, and he knew she could use the comfort, so he put his hand lightly on her arm. "That sounds horrible...I'm sorry I can't help, or that the memories can't either."

[sorry I have been working like crazy and been too tired to post! I promise to catch up guys!]
Elle smiled at his touch to her arm. It wasn't often she got human contact and it was a small comfort. "I just don't even know what to do with myself, the older i get the more complicated the past becomes. And the more confusing." She shook her head lightly and curled her toes in the grass. "Well enough sad talk. It's silly! Let's start planning our break in to get that file." She tossed her hair back and her eyes lit up with excitement. Everything about Elle glimmered with a sense of adventure.

Neal watched Anna leave and once she was out of sight he reached up and tugged on his hair letting out audible sigh. He walked quickly up to the Gryffindor dorms, well not the doors but the portrait of the fat lady. The painting said something about him looking a bit odd and he just shrugged and gave her the password. When the canvas swung outward and Neal was able to step into the common room he was startled to see... Jake?

Jake was a slytherin! How did he get in? The boy glanced around... Daniel was lounging on the couch, had he let the b*****d death eater in? Did this mean that they had death eaters in their midst now here as well? The kid's hair darkened almost to black and he crossed his arms look to at bother of the boys a mixture of fear and false authority painted on his face.

"Jake? H-How did you get in here? It's against the rules for... students from different houses to go into each other's common rooms... Did you let him in Daniel?"

They had never really spoken much. Both Neal and Daniel were a bit cowards and didn't tend to socialize if they didn't have to. The only difference was that Daniel had found himself a death eater to keep people from kicking his a** and Neal... Neal just learned to keep his head down. Well, for the most part anyway. Normally he didn't have to speak up, but having someone like Jake just sitting in HIS common room... That was completely out of bounds. It had taken him six years to even have the guts to talk to a girl he had had a crush on since he was eleven. Neal was a coward and that's all there is to it.

Jake sat up, pausing and wincing slightly as his hand went to his back. The mess and damages were evident having been there a while.
The water from the vase had soaked into the rug making it smell and started to waterlog the wooden floor.

After a couple seconds of wincing and trying to adjust seating an accusing finger pointed towards Daniel who was doing much of the same thing, but with less pain felt. The 6th year looked too worried about his wrapped gift. "It was his fault." Jake said, thinking Neal was accusing him for the broken furniture.

"You were the one that made my gift fly up like that." Daniel protested, before looking up at Neal and pointing an equally accusing finger at Jake. "HE broke them."

"I would have landed on my feet, and maybe knocked over the vase if you hadn't intercepted the catch." Jake snapped, his finger still pointed at his friend.

"If you had summoned the gift like a normal person does, I wouldn't have been forced to act with my cramped calf!" Daniel defended, raising his voice a little.

Jake opened his mouth then snapped it shut, then opened it again, before snatching the gift out of Daniels hands.

"HEY!" Daniel protested.

"Guess I'll just toss this into the fireplace then." Jake said before tossing the gift towards the fire.

"NO!" Daniel screamed as he dove out of the couch and snatched the gift in mid-air before tackling Jake to the floor, crashing into a small desk lined with books and destroying that as well.

The Slytherin ripped the small box out of Daniel's hands and stood up, holding it above his head in victory. "HA!"

...Just before Daniel tackled him again. This time however, they both crashed into the wall, and Jake's hand slammed against the windowsill, sending the gift out the window and...somewhere down below.

The two stopped their struggle and watched it fall down to...wherever. It had bounced off the Gryffindor tower and gone elsewhere out of their sight.
For the moment the two friends were silent, then Daniel started smacking Jake. "YOU SON OF A-!"

"No! No! Get...AWAY FROM ME!" Jake screamed shoving Daniel back. He pointed an accusing finger at him. "This is YOUR fault!"

"MY fault? It's your fault for losing your temper!" Daniel snapped.

"Well you goddamned Brits can't handle jokes and sarcasm!" Jake countered.

"I DON'T DO JOKES AND SARCASM!"

"THAT'S WHAT I JUST SAID!"

"YOU MEANT THE BRITISH POPULATION IN GENERAL!"

"I MEANT YOU"

"THEN WHY'D YOU SAY: 'BRITS'?"

"I...DON'T, KNOW."

Daniel shoved Jake back again. "You're such an a**!"

Jake shoved Daniel back. "Better than being so depressed all the time!"

"Jerk!"

"Emo!"

Then the two faced away from each other, arms crossed.

Neal watched the fight silently and was very much confused, but he knew how to fix it. The kis stepped up to the window walking in between the two and he took out his wand. After clearing his throat he spoke.

"Accio Box."

The gift flew back up and landed in the odd ball's open hand. He held it as he walked over to the demolished desk. With the help of a few spells and years of practice he righted the mess and turned back to look at the boys.

"Brits are the best joke tellers in the world Jake... And if you would please leave that would be nice."

The boy looked down at the floor and slipped his wand back into it's little case attached to his belt at his side.

"Daniel, I need to speak with you... Alone."

He would try to convince the young man to ditch Jake, to stop talking to him and to stop being friends with him. The kid was fragile and knew what it was like to get hurt by the hand of someone you had thought was your friend.

[No worries. Forgot to check this myself.]

Cam smiled softly in return, especially when she said she wanted to stop talking about sad things. That was a good idea, he hated discussing that kind of stuff, too.
He sat next to her and smiled, seeing her appear excited. "Well, it's going to be difficult. We need to draw away the headmaster to somewhere far enough away that if he gets alerted, we can stop him on the way."

During the whole clean-up/retrieval process, Jake and Daniel had kept their backs turned on each other, with arms crossed.

When asked to leave Jake marched right out, his personal hatred towards Daniel still raging within him made him make the decision of leaving as if it were a reaction to pain.

Daniel, however, being in his own Common Room, stayed where he was, ignoring Jake as he passed by. When he was gone the young Gryffindor turned to his house mate and snatched the gift from his hand ripping it open to see what Jake had gotten him.
...
Not that he cared about Jake...
just the gift...yeah...
There were bits and pieces of wrapping paper everywhere.
In the air, on the floor, on Neal's head, on his own head, effectively creating a new mess. Apparently he wasn't good at opening gifts.

When the paper was all off he tore open the box and pulled out his iPod. Sure enough it was HIS. The one he left at home. And his own earphones.
He made a note to thank Jake and then smack him in the head. Somewhere during the joy of acquiring his music player he had begun listening to music, then found the charging cord.
Underneath everything was something else still in its original packaging.

As if finally ready to listen to Neal he pulled both ear buds out, then pulled the item out of the box and stared at it.
It was a portable outlet with a hand crank attachment to charge anything on the go.
Slowly, tears welled up in his eyes before rolling down his cheeks.
He was so happy...now he couldn't possibly hate Jake.

Neal watched the boy open his gift, he shredded the paper sending it flying everywhere. The boy sighed and squeezed his wand before muttering an incantation and having the shreds collect them self into a little pile then fly over to the rubbish bin. Daniel seemed to be pretty happy with the gift... s**t! If he was happy with Jake it would be hard to get him to turn against his friend right now.

"Daniel... Why are you friends with that... That... Boy?"

He was trying not to insult him yet, he wanted Daniel to like him enough to listen and not feel that Neal was forcing him into anything. If he felt forced he would probably back out as fast as he possibility could.

"He seems cruel and manipulative... I wouldn't be able to handle it."

Neal leaned against the cold stone wall, he watched the kid with a casual but slightly concerned gaze. He pocketed his wand and crossed his arms loosely over his chest.

"That's a nice gift though, muggle toys aren't really something I know much about, but it's pretty. What's it do... If you don't mind me asking."

The boy looked at his housemates gift and tried to imagine what it did... Ear phones, was it a new kind of cellular phone? Or maybe a mini TV? He wasn't sure.

Daniel was too caught up with his new toy to care about what Neal was saying. He plugged everything in and began to crank the device, letting out a squeal of delight when his iPod notified him that it was charging.

When asked what the device did however, the young Gryffindor was delighted to share his...toys with Neal. He gave the earbuds to him, and motioned for his housemate to stick them in his ear as he played some American Swing music, something he had became quite fond of since meeting Jake. "You can listen to music anywhere! Anything you want...and then charge it with this device." He pointed to the outlet with the crank.

Neal put the little plugs into his ears as Daniel had motioned for him to do and SURPRISE! He jumped when the music blasted into his head... swing music? Odd choice. The boy took the plugs out of his ears and handed them back to the kid with an amused smile.

"Interesting. I wouldn't have thought that muggles would be brilliant enough to manage something that complex. It's a very nice toy, keep it safe and away from windows."

Neal chuckled and ran a hand though his now blond hair. He looked at the ipod and wondered what other kinds of devices most muggles had that he had never even imagined... There must be so many.

"Pardon my asking but... were your parents muggles? Or are you just an enthusiast? Because I have never in my life heard talk of something like that and there must be more I'm missing out on."

There we go, appeal to his strengths, let the kid feel superior... Neal gave a shy grin and hoped that Daniel would talk to him some more and not just run off to listen to his music box. Electric muggle contraption or not, he would befriend the kid.
