MK did try to abandon the project. He even started a fire down in Level 7 to try and destroy it. Someone wasn't too happy with his decision though. And they took it to their grave.

Exactly. Where MK saw a most evil potential, Raven found her ticket to power. Her lust for power was so intense, that even death could not keep her away. Her ambitions would have failed, but each of us has fulfilled our purpose up to this point. Katrica took on Project Indigo, Project Diablo returned to me, MK sought out the power of Creation, and even Elena was set free from her Cryogenic stasis.

Considering the fact that Raven set that poor girl out there, watched the whole ordeal from the shadows, and then came back to me laughing about it... yeah, I suppose so.
