So if I step several steps to the left, he's have to keep "orbiting" around me and thus ring himself out?
lol.
Iunno, anime perspective, I could see what he was doing.. and I'd just counter his "sonido" with a "shunpo", but then it'd jus turn into DBZ-ish fight.. with each fighter moving to the other's back rapidly.
Like that one episode of Goku/Freeza just 'porting.

I'm finding it hard to write a reply when the only information I'm given as to how all my attacks and defences failed was: =/
I have no problem with them failing, but if my character would know why then it would help me the RPer to know what they would know. Kind of hard to RP a character taht knows more about what just happened to them than you do.

That was a sad, sad episode...
rofl I suppose what I'm saying is... if he wants to keep the speed he's built, he can't stop. That means no sharp turns, which means the most he can do is curves; he has to keep the circle. That doesn't mean that he can't do something like run halfway across the arena, loop around, and come back... but as long as he's running circles around you all you'd really need to do is backstep whenever he moved in. If he cut too sharply he'd slow down and open himself up. If he went too wide he'd never be able to reach.
He's put himself in a very weak position offensively AND defensively. It's got speed, and through that, power... but it has a very narrow scope in terms of strategy, despite what anime might tell you.
At best it's a diversionary/confusion tactic to distract the opponent until they show an opening. Don't think of Gaara vs Rock Lee, where he spun around throwing punches and kicks... think Gaara vs Sasuke, where he ran until Gaara opened himself up, then stepped in for the heavy blow.

I always saw Lee's running in circles as a diversionary tactic as well rather than building momentum or anything like that.

It was, but it was more hit and run than Sasuke's one... Lee attacked from different sides, trying to keeep Gaara confused and to keep the sand occupied while he struck somewhere else. Much like a feint.

Very much. Instead of waiting for openings like Sasuke Lee went for creating them.

Then again, like... 80% of what I say here has no real weight in here because nobody really cares about how things actually work anyways. razz

So is Viper allowed to go back to running in circles then or is he supposed to stop after coming with the kick?
Edit: and definition of what kind of speed is allowed is really blurred... Rules say no instantaneous movement, but... you know...

Speaking of how things actually work, does " =/ " quailify as a suitable defence against anything your opponent just did allowing you to ignore it? I'm not saying Cole's defence should have fallen, in fact I honestly expected it not to, I'm just saying I think my character would know why his abilities were failing if they did in that particular situation and therefore I myself would be able to roleplay him properly if Cole let me in on the secret.
At the same time I'm not saying Cole's at fault. I could be the one at fault with poor types of abilities. My first time with the character so I'm not sure. But even then an explanation would help me to correct myself rather than offering me nothing to work from but guesses.

1. The speed limit is blurred. I said that a few pages back when it came up. 'Blurred' is the speed limit I'm enforcing, y'know? Because at any point past 'blurred', you get into 'blink movement', which just doesn't fly.
2. Any defense against any attack must have a valid reason stated. Why? Because bulls tend to s**t a lot, and we don't want that stuff stinking up our place.
3. =/ isn't a ligitimate responce to "how was your day?".

I think his reason is just "Despite all the stuff you just tried I'm just waaaaay more powerful than you"...
Now that could very well NOT be what he meant, but like I said I'm reduced to guesses.

*Crams down the rest of his sammich.* Imperfect-Chaos I think his reason is just "Despite all the stuff you just tried I'm just waaaaay more powerful than you"... If at any point the other person's entire defense can be summarized in ":flex:", they need to rethink their strategy. I mean, I can understand something like Dagon not needing to bother with defending against Tiem climbing his shin; but if it's an attack that should actually have a chance at working, it's just not kosher to defend with "I > you". Man, like that one time, when Meryl was all like "Uuuuaaaaah! scream " and Vahn was like ":flex:" and she like... broke her hand or something when she punched him. I can't believe nobody called that. I would have called that, but I wasn't online at the time and by the time I got to look you'd ******** SEVERED HER HANDS. ...anyways, going to check out that post now.

Well after that I stood out from fighting any further. It took a lot of stamina to play the role of Macho Man, and its not something I normally do.
Meryll was an exception.

Its possible he just thinks his defence explanation still applies even after my post explained what my character's natural abilities were doing to as a countermeasure. Not an infallible one, but... I guess its just his previous post with :flex: added to it or something.
