RaeRae Rave ERA718 RaeRae Rave ERA718 RaeRae Rave What's killing me is the fact that she's so sure it was wrong. It was the father who was pushing her into it. She didn't know what to do, so she did. And after she had it done, he left anyway.
Now all she talks about is how she killed her baby and lost everything. The most important thing for you to do is be there for her. Also, try and suggest she gets some sort of counseling since this sounds like a very traumatic ordeal she just went through. Getting her to counseling has been proven impossible. She has a lot of emotional problems. Her mother forcered her to go to the mental ward of the local hospital once, but that's about it.
I'm kind of worried that she's going to seriously hurt herself, whether intentional or not. Especially with her habit of drinking too much when she's upset.Well, in that case, keep an eye on her, be there for her, and hope for the best. If absolutely necessary, get a group of friends together and keep her on your own kind of suicide watch. On her end, she should ditch the zero and find herself a hero. I would seriously hurt this guy for making your friend go get an abortion. I'm far enough away that I can't keep much of an eye on her. I only get to talk to her when she decides to IM or call me, otherwise I can't really get through that often.
And... after this? She doesn't have many friends left... My ex-boyfriend (well, and her ex-boyfriend too, but he was mine first talk2hand ) and I are the only ones I think have been trying to help her right now. A few blew up at her for being a "murderer". Others got mad at her for being pregnant in the first place. Support's few and far between- she's never had the greatest network. I mean... I'm trying, but I don't know what to do without leaving school and moving to her town.Hmmmm...If need be, I'll talk to her. I'm always down for making new friends. mrgreen

It's one thing to say "my friend" since that's pretty much anonymous, but I think she'd be pissed if I tried to get her to meet someone.

RaeRae Rave ERA718 RaeRae Rave Streamjumper RaeRae Rave .. My friend just got an abortion... Sad that it had to happen, but it was probably for the best. I hope she learns something from this about the need to be more careful (assuming it wasn't rape, since you'd have likely mentioned something about it). I support the right to get abortions, but I can't say I truly approve of them. What's killing me is the fact that she's so sure it was wrong. It was the father who was pushing her into it. She didn't know what to do, so she did. And after she had it done, he left anyway.

Especially with her habit of drinking too much when she's upset.Oh man that's all sorts of sad. sad With how drugged/hormone'd up one is, it's not surprising they're severely depressed afterwards. There's not much that can be done if she doesn't want help though. sad

ERA718 You know what I find funny? How all these kids really truly believe they'll move to Japan one day and not deal with exclusionary policies. That just makes me think of that interview with Adam Sandler on the Daily Show that one time, where he said when he was little, he really wanted to be a firetruck when he grew up. His parents told him that wasn't possible and he said they should have just let him figure it out for himself and keep the dream.

hilaroma So guys, lemon bars: HUGE success. Thank you so much, Keys, for the recipe and your own personal alterations to it. My roommates loved them, I love them, and hopefully my parents will too when they try them this weekend. I'm so happy I did something right for once. 4laugh Yay! I'm glad they worked out.

ERA718 You know what I find funny? How all these kids really truly believe they'll move to Japan one day and not deal with exclusionary policies. I have to say that I am lucky enough to have some very good connections and friendships with many people in Japan. I am considered and included as part of my boyfriend's family. Even if you are as lucky as me though, no matter what, if you are a foreigner, you are always outside of the "circle" in some way, shape or form. Even if your Japanese is perfect, even if all of your mannerisms are perfectly Japanese, there will always be something that keeps you out of the club. That's just the way it is. sweatdrop Them kids (whoever they are) is Delusional.

I had to show one this video of all the no foreinger allowed signs that can be found in certain establishments.

Again, thank you thank you thank you!! I'm sure they're not as good as yours, but I really am proud of myself. This is my first time baking something "new" (meaning, something not in the well-learned family recipe repertoire) from scratch.

I got more monies than I thought today!!! Today is payday, and I have the direct deposit so it's in there at like..little bit after midnight probably. YES. Though, the next check is going to suck a**, I know that. That one I'll be lucky if it's even $150. But..that won't be too bad because I'm getting the tax things mailed later today. biggrin
