Pics can be more fun for marching cuz they play higher and sound better. Ever heard the USAF Band(United States Air Force)? They're coming to our school and they have FORTY PICCOLOS. Then again, they have 30 Trumpets and 20 piccolo trumpets(Which are wicked kewl instruments too lol).

that would be cool to hear them play. but my school is probably never going to hear them play. -sigh- oh well. i just heard that if there aren't any spots in marching and for flutes then i won't be able to get in even if i'm better!!! the older kids get the first pick supposedly. >< not fair.

ooo i love my flute. i dont play pic but we do have pics during marching season. i hate marching and yet i miss it during concert...yup im weird. lol. well i think any one who loves flutes should proclaim it forever! FLUTES RULE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

XD You know what'd be cool? An international meeting of flutes.
...or national. I dunno if I'd like to meet a flutist who couldn't speak English. o.O

I play flute too but only during concert season cause color guard is more important to me! Sorry xd

heart i play flute!!! but i'm doing colorguard next yr and then i'm just gunna play the flute durring concert season 4laugh

lol that's what a lot of our flutists do...
Sometimes it just doesn't pay to have flutists in the marching band, you know?
Hence why I go over to trumpet during the marching/pep band season. Except for the really hard songs(the classic Star Wars theme, Iron Man), those I play on my flute.

...except when they're sick. Heck, then flutists are very cranky and they feel cruddy(*is very sick right now and has a district-wide performance on Saturday crying *)
But otherwise...
