Artemis hit a dip in the road, and the whole wagon tilted and jumped. She bounced several inches off her seat. She giggled and comforted the ox, smiling softly. And then there's always flaying beforehand. It makes the sensation so much better. The sand works so well without skin in the way. I almost think I could try it with a complete flaying. I'll have to sometime.... Maybe when I get rewarded! It had ceased to be a question of 'if,' and become a question of 'when' she would be rewarded. She could hardly wait to get a new friend.

The wagon got stuck again. No surprise there. Thing was, she wasn't called to shock the horse this time. Was that just a given then? Was she just expected to do it, or was she not needed this time? She decided to just wait where she stood and keep an 'eye' out for danger while the others worked. After all, someone had to be paying attention to their surroundings, right?

Artemis judged by the time they'd spent on the road, that they were about halfway there. So far, so good. If this trip went well, she could ask for a new friend instead of the useless money they always gave her. Really, what was it supposed to be for? She had everything she needed to survive for a very long time... And all extra money did was keep piling up. If she didn't find something to use it for soon, she would end up having to give it away. Something she did quite often, actually.... Oh, well... Maybe that's what it's for? For shinobi to make people smile? She nodded. That must be it. That must be why they pay them so much for playing. It makes sense.

And suddenly, the cart stopped with a lurch and another moan from the back. "How many times do I have to ask you to SHUT THE HELL UP!?!?!? IF YOU DON'T SHUT YOUR MOUTH, I'M GOING TO CARVE YOUR TONGUE OUT AND SHOVE IT SO FAR DOWN YOUR THROAT THAT IT WILL COME OUT THE OTHER END!" She sounded big. She sounded powerful... And most of all, she sounded serious and painful. The entire wagon jumped with the prisoner, and rocked as he hit the wall in surprise, growing quiet except for the occasional, muffled whimper. Like candy from a baby. She giggled, digging the cart out as she had done last time, jumping into the seat and whipping the ox forward, the wagon jolting out of the rut without so much as a sound from the back.

Artemis intimidation equals [roll + 122] Prisoner sense motive = [roll.]
124 vs 16... I'd say that's a pass. Inspires fear:
Character under fear receive a -4 penalty on all checks including attack, dodge and damage. The penalty increased by + 2 by every 5 points hither in your intimidate score over the opponent sense motive check. A neutral d20 increases the penalty to -10. A neutral 1 in the d20 makes you automatically fail any chances of intimidation. A neutral 1 in the sense motive check by the opponent makes the opponent go shaken or panic. People in panic are un able to move their dodge bonus is decreased to 10 and are un able to hold items. Using Genjutsu to send fear to the opponent heart gives you a +4 bonus on your intimidate check. The counter skill for Intimidation is Sense Motive. However if you fail your teammate can use the Diplomacy skill on you to talk you out of your state of panic. For more information check the Diplomacy skill section.

Sometimes I wish they weren't so easy... Games aren't much fun when you know who's going to win right in the beginning. If I could just find one... We could play together! That seemed like a much better idea. If she could find someone to with with instead of just playing on... Finding someone like the interrogators... Although they weren't much fun, anyway. They didn't like playing with her.... In fact, after the first few times, when she would let them play, and she played her first round with them, they didn't play with her anymore.... In fact... She never saw that man again... I'll have to find him and see if he wants to play. He wasn't too bad....

The wagon popped out of the hole just like expected. Roy simply sighed a little as he looked to the massive thing. It was getting so irritating to deal with this thing. He kicked it a bit out of spite and then moved over to the front of the wagon again. "Thanks gig..." he said as he moved past.
That distraction was enough to get his spirits back up and he began to move a bit more forcefully. "Oy! Old man, come on! Get these damn horses movin! I'm sick of this place and of that damn two bit wagon. I mean come ON! Couldn't you at least have sprung for something with a gotdamn MOTOR?!"
Roy grumbled as he began to walk again, complainin under his breath about cheapness and the council. He knew they had something to do with this but he was still just a kid. Even though he was the Kage's assistant, not to many folks actually listened to that anymore with Kinami gone. Sure, he still had access to everything he did before but since the new Kage wasn't really doin his job, no one payed attention to Roy doing his. Which was fine for the most part as Roy didn't have much to do with the new Kage having not done any work.
He began to kick a stone ahead of him as he looked back to Yumi then to Gig. He thought for a moment and then began to just talk out loud like normal. "So how'd you two get to know each other anyway? You start trainin her from the academy right Gig? Why'd you decide to join his clan Yumi?"
Roy knew about the clan Gig was apart of. Not the direct specifics but, as anyone would guess, an outsider being allowed to come into the village and take ninja training none the less would have HEAVY surveillance and such placed on them at least for the first few years they were in the village. And the background check... lets not even go there. Roy was positive some of the questions and things he was sent through to get into the village were pretty damn aggravating. If Gig had been as strong and observant then as he was now, he probably would have noticed an ANBU on his a** at all times. Course, Roy was pretty sure Gig wouldn't have minded all things considered.
Of course, Gig had proven his worth to the village so the surveillance was cut back to only about a notch higher than normal surveillance and any other ninja of the village. There were still some ANBU, the TRUE ANBU that neither Roy nor Gig would be able to detect. The Baka Rangers his mom knew were members of that group but they made themselves more noticeable than others but then again that made their job easier when they did want to do surveillance.

Roy glanced up to the sun. It was a pretty warm day... it was Iwa and they weren't in the mountains, of course it was warm. His leather jacket didn't help either. He was a bit more irritated that these events were occuring as such but still, they happened the way they did and he simply sighed a little. Looking over to the wagon, he glanced to the ground in front of it and didn't see any dents to be of notice but still, that didn't mean anything. This damn wagon would probably get stuck on a hill.
He began to rub his temple and walked over and continued on in silence waiting for Gig and Yumi to respond.

His eye was twitching... no one here except Etna would know what that meant but she would just grin as she saw him. Roy began to tap his foot. He had heard the wagon stop again but was waiting for the crash that came from it hitting a hole. He stopped for a long moment and didn't hear anything else except the exasperated neigh of a horse. Glancing back, he saw the horse... had taken to sitting. It wasn't hurt or anything it just was sick of this place too. The neigh came from the fact that the driver was trying to push it on.
"Oh come ON! What is this thing? Part Jackass?! Shuiro, electrocute the stupid thing so we can go, please?!" Roy wanted to do more to the stupid horse but he kind of liked horses.

Yumi would look at Roy when he had asked her why. To be honest she had seen the power that Giglamesh had and it had impressed her, she figured it was because of his clan and thats why she wanted to join. Plus maybe if she got accepted her parents would recognize that she did have some potentia, not that she would ever ask for their approval. "Well, Giglamesh impressed me while in the academy by demonstrating his strength." She said quietly and kind of embarassed of how she wanted to be stronger.

Shuiro smirked slightly as she was called into duty once more. Walking up and around the wagon, she knelt down by the tired horse. I don't want to do any real damage, but this is ridiculous... Shaking her head she let the sparks emit from her hands. The horse turned it's head around to look at her, and nayed in warning. With a smirk, she zapped the pony in the hindquarters. Witout any dely the horse was up and running. Shuiro had to jump out of the way to dodge the wagon... She didn't want to get run over...

Artemis closed her eyes and let the rolling of the wagon calm her. The action was soothing, and she felt herself somewhat at ease. If a jounin whose only history is torture and death could ever be at ease. She didn't really understand everything she had done. But she was never going to grow up, so what did it matter? They say with all things comes age. Who cares? Age was just a number that lousy grown-ups gave themselves to make themselves feel better about being no better than anyone else.

And then, just as soon as it had come, wrapping her in its cold, comforting embrace, so it went. The wagon lurched and expelled all thoughts of relaxing from her tiring mind. Maybe I can try water torture when I get my new friend... It's going to be so much fun deciding what we're going to do. Maybe they'll help... I couldn't blame them for telling em exactly what they don't want to do... She used that method a lot... Defenseless child, telling an adult her greatest fear (Not really,) and getting the adult to tell her what they were most afraid of. That always made for a fun game. They never suspected anything until it was too late.

She opened her mind to the cold of rest, and laid her head back against the wood of the wagon, sighing softly as she tried to remember previous games. It's never as good the second time. And she was living these for the several hundredth times. She remembered screams, groans and the broken moans that signified that her game had ended. That was the sound she loved hearing most, but she would have to stop when she heard it... And she didn't like that at all. So the end of the game would come, and she would be happy, which could drown out even the worst sadness.
