((deck)) Alexandre shot a very nasty, very heavy and quite alarming look towards Silas at the renewed use of "darling". He hated condescending people, more so when he almost doubled their size... but he hated rich condescending people most of all.
"Alright..." he sighed. Straigtening up, he gently brushed his hair off his eyes and looked menacingly down at the young man before him. "First off, drop the stupid "darling" when referring to me, Silas," he said in his same annoyed tone. "second, I could care less than half a penny about "good society", I was born in a good family, but had no choice but to be raised in the streets and for that deserve more respect because I have worked my way up in life... unlike SOME..." he added looking him up and down. "And to finish, my name is Alexandre Joseph Jacob Whilliam the First, and you will adress me as Alexandre. And no... it is NOT a request..." he finished, his blueish eyes flamming quite furiously... Indeed he hated aristocrats...
After this quite spirited speech, the young man turned to the girl before him and bowed flashing one of his impish smiles at her, then taking her hand and kissing it.
"I'm sorry you had to hear all that... Pleased to meet you, Miss Penelope. I am Alexandre, and I'm... well... a lot of things," he said and let out one of his gentle laughs.
((Galley)) Lenore was a bit bored and a little tired. Her companion talked next to nothing, no matter how much she tried to make conversation. Sighing, the short girl stood up and patted the Kannibal's head gently.
"I will go and look for alexandria, if you do not mind, Kannibal. I think she will know what to do to enterntain you or look after you better than myself. I am sorry..." she said, feeling, really, quite useless. She figured she would find someone on the deck, seeing as she didn't know the ship she was walking in. After getting lost a few times, she finally found her way and entered...
((Deck)) ...the deck. She gave a small exclamation of recognition and ran to hug her brother.
"Alexandre!! I dare say i thought you had gotten lost, my dear older brother!!" she said happily, smacking a kiss on his cheek. Then she looked around at the new people and promptly hid behind the monster she called brother, tugging at her braids and dreadlocks. "W-Who...?" she whispered, her voice getting lost in the midst of ehr shyness.

Penelope was only a little frightened by the show of disgust Mr Alexandre made. She was used to large men yelling, but there was normally a counter between them and her and she knew it was their regular way of communicating. At least someone else on the ship was unhappy with Mr Silas's aristocratic nature, though she supposed it was not entirely his fault that it was all he knew.
She prepared an excuse to run off as Mr Alexandre turned his attention to her, but found that she did not need it as he bowed and grinned. A faint blush rose to her cheeks when he kissed her hand and it grew difficult for her to look away from his eyes. "I--It's a pleasure, sir."
Something across the deck squeaked and Penelope turned, pulling her hand away, to see what it had come from. A young woman, whom she recognized from the galley earlier though they had not been introduced, bolted across the deck and hugged and kissed her brother. The small bubble of jealousy that rose popped quickly.
Penelope laughed quietly and moved around to see Mr Alexandre's sister, trying not to frighten her more than she already seemed to be. "Hello, I'm Penelope." she smiled kindly.

"Oi, oi, no formalities for you, Penelope..." he said quietly. "If you call me sir, I feel old enough to be your father... and that's not good, is it...?" the young man said lowering his head slightly, looking at her from half-lidded eyes and one raised eyebrow.
After the exclamation, he quickly let go of Penelope's hand, though, so he wouldn't pull her down as he staggered by the sudden hug of his sister. He smiled brightly as he hugged her back, kissing her nose.
"I'm sorry I left you there, but you know that departures make me sick. I just needed some fresh air..." he said, then he shook his head as the petite girl id behind him.
He turned his hazel eyes towards Penelope again. "Strangers sorta put her off, she's wary around them and takes a bit of a time trusting people, but she's really sweet. Just handle her with care," he said gently, winking at the woman.
Lenore looked at the woman with her big hazel eyes and nodded, smiling shyly.
"Pleased... to meet you... My name is Lenore, I am sister to this giant of a man..." she said quietly and walked a bit from behind Alexandre, but held his hand all the same since the other man hadn't introduced himself and he smelt of alcohol.

((For future notice - Silas wasn't being condescending, it's how he talks. And Alexandre is 4 inches taller. Around 10cm. How did you manage to peer down that? And he is also 4 years younger than Silas. xp ))
Silas listened to the speech. He sighed, leaned against the deck, nodded occaisonally, feigned interest, smiled, everything he was used to. And then he said: "Whatever you wish, darling!" and took another drink. Some people had simply no decorum. The boy was quite a bore. And the way Alexandre looked at him as though his height meant something was quite amusing. After all, the boy was only slightly bigger than the nobleman. And he was several years younger than Silas, anyway. However, out of good character, he kept these last comments to himself.
This new girl, though, was more interesting. He kept quiet for a little bit, examining her. Surely they couldn't be related? The girl was dwarfed by him! Sure, they had similar facial features, but the size difference was vast. She seemed timid, so he put away the bottle. He'd have offered it to her, but her brute of a brother might have reacted badly.
"Good evening or afternoon, Lenore, depending on your preferance." He smirked in a wicked manner, bowing deeply.

((Four inches? o.o can you do the math please? Alexandre is two meters tall. That would be somewhere like 200 centimeters. Also, Alexandre doesn't know, so for him Silas is being condescending. It's the first time Silas meets Alexandre, how would my character know anything about yours? Also, he doesn't care if you are 100 years older than him, Silas has to earn Alexandre's respect, and he's not very good at it... Sorry if I'm not very flexible as to how i manage my characters, but I played dungeons and Dragons for like three or four years, some habits just stick to you. XDD))
((deck)) Lenore looked at the young man, examined his smirk and decided she didn't like it. She hid behind her brother once again, and just waved at this stranger. He looked all the way like a nobleman, and that was a bit distasteful for her, but she had a bit more manners than her borther, so she asked:
"P-Pray tell me your name, f-for you a-already know mine..." she said quietly, not comming out from her hiding place.
Alexandre, already annoyed by the renewed used of darling, instantly was on guard. He cared for his sister like the jealous brother that he was, so any sign of interest in her by any unsuitable parties was something he was ready to brush aside. He held her gently to himself protectively and gazed at her braided, little head.

((1inch = 2.5cm. Silas = 6'1" = 73" = 185cm. Alexandre = ~6'6" = 78 inches = 197cm. Therefore Alexandre is only 12cm bigger than Silas. 3nodding I did the math. razz . And don't worry - I totally understand the D&D thing. I have obsessive friends.))
Silas pulled back from his bow, the smirk becoming more of a grin of amusement at the grown woman's fright. He took off his top hat, sweeping it to his chest in an apologetic manner.
"My deepest regrets, madam. Lord S. O. L. Ebonheart the Second. I seem to go by the name of Silas around here, though. And this..." he paused, clicking his fingers. The well-trained crow flew down from the riggings and landed on his gloved finger. "... is Lucian. He's very friendly."

((Where does it say Alexandre is 197.7? o.o He's 200. i did the math too, I just had to make sure.. If Silas is around 185, and he's 200, Silas is 15 centimeters shorter.... I used my metric tape and it seems that he CAN peer down at Silas. Maybe not THAT much, but he cna peer downa thim. So it stands. ^^ And i'm not obssessive, I just respect common sense and literary rules, and D/D rules on roleplay are based on common sense and literary rules: if it's the first time I meet you, how am I supposed to know you are so-and-so? Your character would've to explain it to Alex or Alex would've to find out for himself, he can't magically have the knowledge... that makes up for a very boring story. ^^))
Lenore looked at the nobleman. She silently said his name to remember it and then gave a squeak as the crow landed on his glove. She regarded the crow with curiosity and was about to walk over to pet it, when a faint hiss was heard and she fell to the floor.
"Oh, goodness me!" she exclaimed as Alexandre held her gently in his arms, causing her metallic leg to flail about. "You will have to excuse me, this leg seems to need to adjustments..." she said quietly as she pulled said limb from her trousers.
Alexandre set her down on the floor, and the girl proceeded to adjust the leg, taking out a small pouch with special instruments just for that purpose.
"Sorry..." he said apologetically to Penelope, hoping the young woman wouldn't be horrified by the scene. "Once in a while it comes off, i've been telling her to create a new one, but she won't listen... one day she'll have accident because of that..."

Penelope was surprised, and slightly awed, by the trained crow that landed on Mr Silas's hand. She squeaked in surprise, more surprise, as Ms Lenore toppled over and Mr Alexandre caught her. She dropped to her knees beside Ms Lenore with some hope of helping.
"Do you need me to find a doctor?" she paused, then stammered, "Or-or a mechanic?"
She tucked loose strands of her hair behind her ears and fidgeted nervously as she watched Ms Lenore repair her own leg. Her green eyes flicked from Mr Alexandre, who now towered over her, to Ms Lenore's work. "Does this happen often?"

((deck)) Lenore turned her hazel eyes a moment towards Penelope and smiled reassuringly.
"It is quite alright, it is just that this thing is quite old, but I will have it fixed in no time. Do not worry, it happens all the time" she said. "Just, when i tell you to, please push it into position, I always have a hard time with that..." she said returning to fixing the damned thing.

Penelope smiled and tried to relax. People losing limbs was not something she was used to, she didn't think she would be able to get used to people just losing a leg or an arm and simply reattaching it.
"Whatever you say." she nodded.

(@ Dominick: we are in the bridge, not the deck. ^_^ @penelope: Wuneye loat an arm in front of you once if you recall.)
[bridge] THe captain was not all that please that a flesh eating acid was loaded into a gun and was loose on his ship. he would have prefered the thing be locked int one of the two armory's and not used at all.
"I would prefer that the substance not come in contact with my ship or its crew and pasengers if you would. Professor. But if Sylvian can devise a safe local for your test then you may proceded."
To sylvian he instructs that the ship and passengers not be harmed as it was her home too. melting a support girder and dropping half the ship into the sea was not on his flight plan for the day.

[Sorry, the word "Deck" was mentioned so much that I forgot where my own character was located.] Dominik nodded, not wanting to irritate the captain. "Understandable. I guess I can wait for the next stop and find a testing facility within there."

At this point in time, Silas lifted the crow to his hat, which he had put back on, and lifted one eyebrow in a confused manner. The bird perched on his top hat and cawed in interest as steam hissed from the mechanical limb. He hadn't noticed she was missing a leg. "The state of prosthetics these days really are astounding!" he thought, and walked off into the ship without another word. The deck was far too confrontational and confusing for his liking.
