Chloe couldn't help the flush of happiness when he decided to stay with her. She looked out at the dance floor, noticing that Rivener was out there and Roux... seemed to be gloomily watching from the edge. She suppressed a small smile.

"O-Okay.. if you don't l-laugh at me either." She reached down and very gingerly slipped her hand into his, giving a small tug to lead him forward. Maybe it was that she was so happy after being depressed for so long... maybe it was from the drink Natsuki had given her... either way, Chloe was feeling just a little...

...brave.

She moved to the dance floor, stopping a little way, almost in the middle and sort of near Rivener. She reluctantly let go of Aphismet's hand and paused as she listened to the beat. She tried to remember what Ravi suggested and began very slightly swaying, her hips -almost- on beat with the tempo but not quite.


Roux narrowed his eyes as he watched Rivener move, the way his hair moved, almost like the water before it became frozen. Black waters... Roux's expression became a little more lax as he continued watching. It would take a little more to convince him. Sure - it was pretty to watch but was it -fun- and would it benefit -him-?

Vyn normally didn't like the smell of food, it made her feel a little disgusted inside. But it was the only place so far in the room that was suitably away from Roux and Rivener who had now migrated to the dance floor, and also away from the smell of alcohol, a scent which the delicate Shadow Raevan found repulsive. It was too....sharp, and made her feel dry. Poised elegantly near the corner of the food table, she rested her fingertips lightly against the table's surface, observing the antics of those who were repeatedly trying to hit something floating in midair. Amber-Black eyes regarded the scene with dignified curiousity. What was it being punished for? And why was everyone smacking it with such force?

Shuura reached the bar just in time to catch the end of the oddly-built bartender's list of offerings. "...Sex on the Beach, a Screwdriver... b*****b?" The ebony-haired girl turned a wry smile. "How about a Mango Mai Tai, bartend?" That'd be a good fruity one to see how well he was. In fact Shuura was quite tempted to grab the liquer bottles in sight and mix one up herself, but courtesy dictated she allow the guy to do his job. That and she couldn't really reach behind the counter, what with the tanned barkeep sitting right on it.

Aph smiled and nodded at the girl's words. "Deal," he said.

Aphismet almost lost his hard-won composure as Chloe took his hand and led him forward. Ah, should he be reading all kinds of things in this little gesture? Oh, no, it's probably nothing. She probably just doesn't want him to run off while she's not looking. As it was, he hardly had time to half-throw the last of his Ceasar into his mouth and lob the glass lightly onto the bar countertop!

Aph, trying to keep calm and composed, was looking around. He was quite startled to see Rivener on the dance floor! Jealously, he noticed how well the Raevan was managing to dance, especially considering he had no lower body. Cheeks flushing a bit, Aph hoped no one would compare him to his charge...

As Chloe began to dance, awkward as it was, Aphismet followed suit. Moving flatly from one foot to the other, fists shaking up and down like maracas without following the beat, he looked like someone having a seizure in slow motion.

He looked over at Chloe and couldn't help but smile. It wasn't so bad, dancing... at least there was no talking involved, and therefore Aph couldn't really say anything dumb. Natsuki's words over the Loudspeaker, combined with the strongly intoxicating drink he'd just finished in one gulp, bolstered Aph enough to state, leaning towards Chloe to be heard over the music: "Y-your eyes are the m-most hypnotic." He blushed and looked away, not wanting to see her reaction because it might be bad. That was very tacky.

Rivener, still swaying to the music, opened his eyes long enough to look at Roux and smile. He did not know of Roux's reasons for not wanting to dance, but all he could do to try and coax the Icy Frei out onto the floor, was lure him. Keeping his eyes on Roux, Rivener turned on The Charm. He hadn't used it in a while, that half-lidded bedroom look. He hadn't smiled in that private come-hither way. This was as good a time as any.

Riv danced across the floor easily, once in a while beckoning to Roux, thinking that perhaps the Icy Frei could be convinced to come if he thought Riv was dancing just for him.

Zeph caught her glance down his body, and his ears tinted a pink before returning to their original color. hHe noticed the girl had unique golden eyes, and a nice voice- a femininely low which was a nice difference from the squeals and high pitched girls that sometimes ran around the streets. There was something else in her voice, however, which kept it different then the rest. he couldn't put his finger on it, but he sensed it. "Yep." he smiled and sipped his drink before turning back to her. "The name's Zephrnyx- Zeph for short. And yours.. ?"


He turned and nodded to another girl with long black hair that had arrived at the bar. He noticed she was an owner of one of the humanlike creatures that floated around, and excitement sparked in his chest, though his face remained calm and relaxed. He glanced around and spotted the beautiful female raevan that belonged to the girl, before turning to the owner. "Good evening..."

Aphismet cleared his throat and had kept dancing, not doing any better since his little admission. When Chloe piped up with her question, Aph was more than grateful to have something else to talk about. He turned back to look at her with a smile. "Oh, y-yes please! I would like to see. Maybe I could try it, if it's not too hard a dance..." He wondered what it was. There were different dances? Maybe she means some kind of ballroom thing, like foxtrot or waltz?

Aph backed away a step to allow her space to move if she needs it.

Rivener was more than delighted to have Roux join him. His smile broke into a toothy, sensuous grin, and he reached out for Roux to take his hand. Sliding through the air like a snake, Rivener kept dancing, moving around Roux slowly in a circle as he did, inadvertantly pulling Roux along.

Now this was fun! He hoped Roux would dance too, but if he just floated there at least he came. Riv let the music move him again, his half-lidded gaze locked onto Roux's cold diamond eyes. He wanted to say See? this can be fun! but he didn't want to risk shattering the moment. So he remained quiet, humming a bit of the tune when he knew it.

Chloe nodded, clearing her throat a little as she suddenly went perfectly still, her arms held up at an angle and... began to move in jerky motions. First she let her arms down, bent at the waist, turned her head to the side, stood back up and... slid backwards!

She stopped as soon as her little bit was done, hurrying back to stand close to Aphismet as she went back to her gentle shimmying. Her face was flushed and she was smiling widely in sheepish embarasment but obvious enjoyment. "I-It's called the Robot!"


After a little while.. Roux began to move as well. He really didn't have any hips to sway, but when he started his movements they were at once graceful. Wings flared, eyes half closed, lips parted slightly as he flowed between movements. He swayed, dancing back to back Rivener with his bare wings flared, arms curling intricatly in alluring motions.

This was...

A small smile quirked the usually angry Raeven's lips upward as he turned to face Rivener once more, leaning forward so the colors of their hair clashed. Silver-white and black-red.

"Yes."

After Julian had disappeared into the crowd, Eiry lost track of Isi in the growing crowd. He couldn't see that his keeper had gone off to a couch to sit down and rest his legs since there wasn't anyone he really knew from the crowd. He couldn't see Aphi or Rivener either. So, lost and growing a bit nervous, the minty frei floated through the seething moving bubbling sea, looking for a piece of land to cling to. There were a lot of people he didn't know and he didn't really like the looks of wonder some of them were giving him.

Then suddenly....

"Ouch!" Eiry gave a cry as he brushed against someone and he slapped a hand to his arm where he felt a numb sharp pain sucking at his skin. Hm. There was only one person who could manage hurting him with a mere touch. Turning to face the other raevan, Eiry brightened visibly and cried, "Gage!"

Aphismet watched Chloe blankly for a moment before grinning widely. He'd stopped his own dancing to watch, even! Chuckling to himself, Aphismet said: "I know that dance! Well, I can't do it very well, that is... But I know it! Here, hold on!" He jogged over to the DJ, a charming young lady with the reddish hair. "Excuse me," he told her, "if you could play Mister Roboto, I know it would make Chloe very happy!" he announced to her before hobbling back to his dance partner.

"Hopefully it'll play," he told Chloe. "I asked for a special song!" He grinned and his dancing, although still off-beat, was more enthusiastic and energetic now. He had forgotten that people might be watching, and instead was simply enjoying himself. "You're really good at that!"

Rivener smiled widely as Roux began to dance. He even chuckled when Roux declared his approval of this. "It IS fun, isn't it?" Riv agreed, undulating with the music, moving his arms, swaying... "Feels like... like..." He couldn't put a word to it.
