"If you want, I can show you some other things that work pretty well. That way we both can improve." Kei then checked to make sure he had money before nodding. "Sure, I can go for some food. Do you have anywhere specific in mind?"

"That would be great! I need to get a lot better." She bit her lip. "No, not really. what about you?" She asked whistling for Himi to come with. The dog barked and ran over.

"I heard that there's a really good ramen stand in the center of the village. I haven't been there myself yet. You wanna go check it out?" Kei bent down to scratch Himi on the head. "You did good too, Himi. Sorry I don't have a treat for you."

Himi barked and Mai-lin grinned. "Sure. I've never been then either. I've seen it but I was always on a training thing so I could never stop." Mai-lin picked up her dog and placed her on her head. "There you go Himi-chan."

Anekio nodded her head, smiling. "It's a shame, though most of our grand parents probably failed the test too." She laughed softly, moving a strand of hair behind her ear.

"So, I hear that the Inuzuka dogs get to be pretty big, big enough to ride on. Is Himi going to get like that too?" Kei asked as he started walking, his hands shoved in his pockets.
"Those tests are pretty hard. I managed to get one at the last minuet." Tori laughed. "Nothing distracts you more than getting crapped on by a bird. If Fuki hadn't of done that, I wouldn't have managed to get the bell. My whole team made it though, so it worked out. What about you?"

"Yeah. At least I hope so or I won't be able to do some of the jutsus my clan does with the bigger dogs. Maybe I'll take to my home sometime and you can....oh...nevermind. I don't think you want to wait that long..." Mai-lin matched his pace, looking down to the ground.

"No, what were you going to say? Is there something you want to show me?" Kei looked at her while trying to figure out what she was thinking.

"Well...I was going to say that maybe I could take you to The Inuzaka home and show you some of the dogs but...well, I don't go there any more. I won't be going back there for a long time...." She muttered, not looking up.

Kei stopped walking and frowned. "Why not? Did something happen to you?" He found himself getting angry. If someone touched her... He reached over and grabbed her arm to stop her from walking, then used his hand to tilt her face up so he could look at her. "Mai-lin?"

Mai-lin still looked down, avoiding looking Kei in the eyes. "No. It' just that my brother's smell is all over and after he died...I loved my brother a lot and when he was killed I would get mad whenever I smelled him. I can't go back until his smell is all gone or I get revenge." Mai-lin smiled slightly and started walking again. "Come on! I'm hungry."

Kei still frowned but followed after her. It makes sense but I hope that's the only reason... He then decided that he'd try to learn more about Mai-lin and her family later. "I can only imagine what it's like to lose a loved one. I know I'd be devastated if I lost my brother. It was hard enough losing my grandfather and mother..." he smiled then hoping to lift the mood. "It's part of being a ninja though. I try and think of the bright side to things, like how many people I'm helping by doing what I'm doing. You should do the same, it will lesson the pain some."

"Hai, I know that. I only became a ninja for my brother and so now I'm going to keep going." She then turned and looked at him. "What about your family? Your brother is a chuunin, right? Who else is in your family?"

"Other than him, just my father. I don't seem him too much as he's always away on A rank missions. I haven't seen him in about a month." Kei gave her a smile. "I've gotten used to him being away and it helps knowing that he's helping others as well as the village."
((Don't have a name yet for the brother sweatdrop And I was just wondering if Konohamaru and his generation is still alive 'cause if so, I'd like him to be Kei's father.))
