Skiaska sighed, entering her room. Swiveling off her sickle from the chain, she put the blade on a shelf and the chain on a hook. Also hanging up her coat, she sety her blades up against her dresser. Skiaska couldn't help but sigh at the night's events. Falling over onto her bed, she looked up at her black ceiling. Hmmm... I didn't paint a sign on that one...

Still sitting in the meeting room, William again turned on the PA. "Attention all Hunters, I repeat again, assemble immediately in the meeting room. I am currently giving an important briefing and it is urgent that you all attend."

Grumbling, Skiaska complied, walking out of her room and towards the meeting room. "Damn lycans... Damn war..." Sighing, she paused at the door before entering.

Threads walks into the Haven and stands...looking into the foyer. He reaches into his sleeve making gestures as if he was pulling something out. but there was nothing there.

((Heh heh. I know I'm not supposed to be here, so this will be quick. Hey, Threads Donnelly. I don't see your bio up as a hunter, and you can only be in this thread if you're a hunter (which is why I'm making this quick.) If you're gonna be hunter, please put your profile up A.S.A.P. And if you're not a hunter, you can't post in here, sorry! Later! *Runs away*))

Krii'Ouse passed by the infirmary on his way to Hunter's. He looked in, and saw the Lycanthrope. 'Oh, right... You. Sorry, just remembered... I was thinking about other things.' He stepped in. 'Alright, I'll take you back up, tell Night Hunter about what you said, and then hopefully I won't see you again... I don't like killing Lycans. They're alright, when they're not trying to kill me. Besides, your a nice gal. At least... you *seem* nice. Except that thing about knocking me out... Oh well.'

Krii'Ouse lead Myyth out of Haven, after blindfolding her. 'Sorry about this.' he had said while blindfolding her. He took her out the empleyee's entrance, after disabling the silver defenses. He took her around the corner, and took the blindfold off. 'Alright, there you go. Again, thank you for the information. It will be helpful, I hope. Fare well.' He turned, and went back into Hunter's going back to Haven, and heading for the storage room.

Will entered Haven, worn out and weary from the fight against the Lunites. In his arms was the cloth draped body of Charles Wainright, an aged Hunter who hadn't been with the New York Hunters Group long but had been respected for his experience and wisdom in matters of combat. Tonight had been his final battle; during the fight with a Lunite terrorist cell he'd been gunned down while providing covering fire for his fellow Hunters. He'd be put to rest, be honored, and be remembered. But first, there was one last duty for the old soldier to perform.

He carried the cirpse into one of the medical room's side rooms, the morgue to be precise. There'd been a lot of injuries, but Dr. Hunter should be free for a little while now. They had one thing to do before they could bury Charles. He called out for the Hunters doctor to come over. "Gail, if you aren't in the middle of anything, come to the morgue. We have to... prepare Charles for burial."

"A-a-alright Will, I'll be right there."

Gail entered the morgue, wheeling a cloth covered cart. "William, are you sure about this? It seems so... disrespectful."

"He was a Hunter. He knew the risks, and just because he's dead doesn't mean that he can't still serve the cause. You knew that things like this could start happening once I opened up the Hunters to non-humans."

"But Will..."

His fist slammed down on a nearby table. "DAMNIT, GAIL! I KNOW! ...Look, I know what you're saying, and I understand, I really do. But face facts. Charles is dead, and we've got a couple of vampires to feed. Now I'm giving you an order. Drain him."

".....May God have mercy on your soul for all you do for the greater good, Will."

"I sometimes doubt that even He can have mercy on me, Gail. Now do it."

Gail nodded and pushed back the cloth on the cart, revealing it to be a blood collection machine. This one had a pump, so that it could drain a dead body of it's blood. Ever since vampires had started volunteering for duty as Hunters, William had made sure to have a steady supply of medical blood packets to help keep them fed. Many of the Hunters and staff around here donated blood whenever they could, but with the need for both transfusions and occasional feedings for the vampire Hunters they could always use a few extra pints. Charles was dead, but his blood was not going to be "wasted". As Gail started the machine, Will stared at Charles for a long time, only one thought in his mind. God have mercy on me, what have I become? Have I fought monsters for so long that I'm becoming like them? God... Charles... forgive me.

Her shoulder twinged, demaning that she go get some rest or at least follow her orders first and get some rest, but she had never been one to let her body rule her mind. Besides, something else told her to follow Will; afterall, he had not said when to take Tyler to the infirmary. She could always go back and help Alex with that later, even though she knew she was twisting what Will had said.

She felt nothing when she saw what they were going to do to the body. She had been raised to take death as a matter of course; she did not fear death, and accepted its reign of eternity over life. But, from their thoughts, she could tell that Dr. Hunter and Will were sad...sad that Charles was dead and sad at what they were going to do to him. She...did not understand the pain they were feeling; at least, not at the level they were feeling it.

"You are both...sad?" She asked, her eyes a bit wider than normal, showing her confusion.

Will's eyes widened and he whirled around to see Lydia there. Oh God, she seemed so innocent at times that he didn't want her to see this. But at the same time, she'd be the least likely to judge him for it. And she'd asked him a question. Only... how could he explain just why he was sad? "It's... complicated Lydia, but then most emotions are. Yes, we're both sad. I can't talk for Gail but I feel a sense of loss at Charles passing, regret that he had to die to make our mission a success, and guilt that he died carrying out my orders and of what I'm doing to him now. Most people, including me, feel that the dead need to be treated with respect and dignity, and would consider this to be going against those principles. Can you... understand or make sense of any of that?"

"I know of death. I understand death. But..." She paused, looking away and hugging herself like a child. "When one of us died...they did not see it as you see his death. They merely saw a broken tool, a broken weapon....a broken doll." Broken doll...those words ringed true in her head. All this time, she had only been a means to an end...she was still that. She was a tool, and everyone else that she knew seemed to be one as well.

Who would shed tears over a broken doll?

She turned on her heel and walked briskly back the way she had come. She wanted a place where she understood things, she wanted people who didn't confuse her, she wanted things that weren't alien and strange. She wanted back the world she had known even if she had hated it. She felt wetness on her cheek for the second time that night and rubed it away roughly. She had no need for tears, no reason to cry, and yet she was crying. Not over Charles, though she did feel some remorse at him passing. She didn't know why she was crying, and she wasn't all to certain that she'd ever know the answer. She just kept on walking, rubbing away her tears. She wanted to cry her eyes out, to act like the child she had never been able to be, the things she thought she could never have.

Hearing her say that, Will got angry. VERY angry. As the girl tried to walk away, Will stepped out in front of her. "Lydia... the people who raised you... the Labcoats... I would gladly kill each and every one of them. It's things like that which make them as bad if not worse than what we hunt. You ARE NOT a doll! You are a human being! You think, you feel, you have wants and needs! Like this! Why would you care about why the rest of us are sad if you were just a doll?"

Calming down, he fingered the cross he wore. "Lydia, I believe that a supreme being, something so far beyond our sense of preception that we can't see it or understand it, created everything. I believe that everyone has a soul, and that when we die our souls return to that supreme being. Furthermore, I believe that such a being loves and cares for all creation, including you. If something that vast, that powerful, cares for you why shouldn't I? Why shouldn't anybody else? That belief is the basis of our western morality. Understood?"

Fishing around in his pockets, he pulled out a small, leather bound book; a pocket New Testament bible. He always carried one with him in the field, the presence of the book giving him comfort. Without hesitation, he handed Lydia the book. "Here Lydia. Read this, and you might understand why people try to keep themselves to a set standards of ethics and morality. OK?"

She had thought for a moment that he was mad at her, but as he kapt talking she realized he meant the Labcoats. Everything she told him about them made him seem to hate them more and more. She would have liked to see them dead, but for most of her life, they had been all she had known of life and reality. Killing them would be nice, but she wasn't entirely sure that she wanted to be the one to do it.

She held looked at the book Will had given her, and looked up to look at Will again before looking back down at the book. She had never been given anything before without the giver expecting something in return. Did he want something of hers? No, that did not seem to be the case.

"Thank you." She nearly whispered, still looking at the book.

Will sighed in relief when Lydia thanked him. It seemed that she might finally be starting to understand the behavior of more normal people. She'd been deprived of so much, she deserved some happiness in her new life as a Huntress. Placing a gentle hand on her shoulder, he offered a small, compassionate if somewhat tired smile. "You don't have to thank me, Lydia. We all care about you. I know that some Hunters look at you as a little sister or a daughter, and we all want to help you and protect you. Now feel free to read that bible, and if you want or need anymore books like it then just ask me, I have a small personal library. Now it'd be best if you got some sleep or some food or something, and I... need to write up Charles' certificate of death and log a report about the battle. I'll see you later, kid."

With his piece having been said, Will walked out of the medical room and headed up to his office. He had a lot of paperwork to fill out.
