Chao smiled lightly, relinquishing Sanar when the Aerandir began to wiggle slightly, "heh, yep, just happened. By the way, thanks for the scarf," it figured, no matter what was happening around them there still always seemed to be a spare moment to relish in proud parentness.

Still, her eyes darted to Anthony then back to the radio then back to Jizzy.

Stumbling slightly Sanar gripped onto Chao's pant leg and smiled, glad the second hoop had been one of greeting rather than anger. Tobais had recognized her!

Kneeling down so that she was more on his level she waved her strange new hands in greeting, and blinked when her hair flopped down besides her. Odd, she hadn't noticed the new long rows of hair before. It seemed there had been too many changes to even keep track of.

She shook her head and gripped one hand back onto Chao's pant leg.

Even as the vibrations shook the ground beneath Emi's feet, she had ran right to the lodge. Jars were under one arm in the camera case, and the other held a rather bewildered dog. Toby was half her size, but after he'd bolted around the house after that first vibration, it certainly wasn't something Emi wished to repeat.

Then it hit her. Large ears suddenly turned, and the tip of her nose twitched. Her brow knitted in a worried frown. It was faint, and only on the breeze here, but that was the smell of smoke. Smoke meant there was a fire, somewhere. Fire meant burning, and burning meant... Shaking her head to remove that thought, it wasn't something to dwell on at the moment. After all - it was very faint from all the way back here, and her nose might have been deceiving her.

The lodge was little more than a few seconds away now. Bounding over those last few steps, she very nearly collided with Anthony. Her paws skidded to a halt on the wooden floorboards.

Trying to get back one's breath, and then realize that one isn't alone any more, was certainly one feat Emi would have rather avoided. Except she couldn't. Toby, finally figuring out he could escape, wriggled out of his master's grasp. Four paws hit the floorboards at once, and the dog fell flat on his stomach.

"I think there's smoke in the air," Forget hellos for the time being, a warning was more appropriate for this point in time. The furry did her best to smile in greeting, but the belated grin looked more like a lopsided-attempt-at-a smile than anything else at the moment.

"I mean, hello, I think there's smoke in the air." The sentence was promptly revised, nervousness plaiting her words. Her tail flickered at the tip, large ears pressing right back to her hair.

He nodded to Chao. If she could figure out the radio, that'd be good. "If Alyosha radios through tell him I've gone out to find people, you lot.. try make yourselves comfortable, there's plenty of food and books if you get bored. Alyosha sent over some childrens toys a while back too for the girls" he waved off in the direction of the corner "somewhere over there."

Emi stumbled in and Anthony's slight bravado wore down just a tad more. "Smoke?" he questioned her. He wasn't even sure who she was. One of the new guardians whom he had not had any contact with yet, he guessed. "Are you sure?" He didn't really doubt her, it just seemed the right thing to say. "Er, right, please stay here" he asked her as politely as one could when one was rushing around like a headless chicken. "I'm going to see if I can find anyone else." He stepped over the pile of fur on the floor, eyeing Toby warily. "Nice doggie" he murmered, hoping Iza was hiding under a bed somewhere.

With that, he left the Centre, on the lookout for more Setonians.

Continued here.

Chao nodded to Anthony, "if he radios I'll tell him where you've gone, good luck," the guardian sat down and quickly set herself to working out the radio. Yep, it was similar to ones she'd used in the past, thank gods.

Looking over her shoulder she attempted a smile of greeting to the newcomer, "hello there."

Sanar's ears flicked and she watched the newcomer arrive and the Anthony man leave. The nervousness in the air was practicly contagious and she could feel it draping over her as well, and she'd didn't even understand what was going on.

The hand connected to Chao's pant leg tightened its grip.

Gael, it had seemed, had fallen into some form of deep sleep, in which she had ignored all the past events since the ground had begun shaking. Sin supposed that this was a good thing, at least, that is what she kept on cooing into Gael's ear as the child sniffled loudly, completely overwhelmed by the events of the day.

Gael cracked an eye open, shocked to see some new people within the lodge. And the sandy-colored man had left. She was interested, was he going to find out why the world was shaking? She pulled on Sin's pantleg and pointed at the other new person within the room.

Sin followed Gael's gaze and smiled slightly, her face showing the obvious pain that she had in doing so. This was not the most happy time for her, and Gael was so obviously upset. "Hey."

Emi really didn't have any time to do much more than shake her head and nod in the respective places. All the time she clutched onto the bag by her waist, looking like only the fear of death itself would make her let go. As he left, her silvery orbs followed his tracks like a bewildered rabbit matched with a pair of headlights. It was only when the other two guardians pronounced themselves there did one ear twitch, and she turned to face them.

"Hello," What could she say? Heaving the camera bag over one shoulder, the furry did her best to keep a smile on her face. It was one of her many plausible beliefs, and the least she could do was try to be friendly. Spotting Gael by Sin's feet, she cautiously took a step forwards. Not far enough to frighten the young Aerandir, but just enough so she could stand by Toby's side.

Toby raised his head as Anthony address him. His tail thumped on the floorboards for a few moments. Raising his muzzle, he picked himself wearily back up onto four paws. He trotted forwards to stand beside Emi, his back legs hitting the floor once more as he situated himself in a sit-down beside her.

"Would she mind if I sat down? I wouldn't want to frighten the child, I'm sure she's scared enough as it is." The words came out as a jumble, and the guardian paused anxiously before adding in the last bit. She spoke rather quickly, fingertips clutching tightly to the bag sitting on her hip. It was only when she felt Toby's fur brush over her own that she tore her gaze from somewhere just over Sin's shoulder down to the dog.

Sin nodded slightly, placing a re-assuring hand on Gael's shoulder as the newcomer bent down to examine her more closely. Sin was intrigued. Who was this new person? "Are you a new guardian that Anthony's gotten to come to the island?" She asked, "Because I haven't seen you around."

Gael felt Sin's reassuring hand on her shoulder, but it did nothing to ease her distress. What was going on? Why was the ground shaking, why was Sanar's mom trying to get a small black box to work? What was the prupose of the black box? Questions swirled in her mind as the ground continued to shake.

Jizzy turned around at the soudn of the newcommer, nodding a small greeting. She flopped down on one of the chair, still a bit paranoid in case the tremors began again. SHe nodded another greeting to SIn, not wishing to interupt the conversation.

Tobias could feel the tension in the air and he made a questioning hoop to Sanar. Maybe she knew what ahd gone on. He toddled to her, the beads on his quills clinking a he walked. He rasied his small head to try to look her in the face and hooped the question again.

"I'm a new guardian of two jars, arctic fox and arctic owl from what I can gather." Well, might as well answer the question in hand. The woman sat down on the floor where she was, not daring to step any closer towards the other three. She pulled off the camera case, pushing the rather beefy bag into her lap. She glanced up towards Jizzy as she flopped down on a near-by chair, smiling slightly in acknowledgement.

Suddenly, paranoia washed over the furry. What if she didn't believe her? Pulling the jars closer to her chest, Emi's arms entwined around the leather case. Her tail flicked around to curl around her ankle, watching Chao out of the corner of her eye as she continued to fiddle with the radio. It was a pity she couldn't help - but technology always seemed to dissolve under her touch, no matter how delicate she was with it.

"I've been a hermit crab to be honest with you, and I've only really communicated with one other person on the Island via a letter," Emi's furry ears slowly peeled back from her hair, trying her best to smile, even if it was in remorse.

"I sent a leaf out a while ago, to help in a quest," She started. Gradually, her tone sped up again, rapidly turning to the point where one word from another became hard to distinguish.
"I mean, I've been rather busy what with moving in recently. Sorry."

"Oh!" Chao stated suddenly, head whipping around, "you must be Emiko then! Thank you again for the letter, it was for my Aerandir, Sanar's quest. San hun, show her your bag?"

Sanar tenatively relinquished her hold on Chao's pant leg and raised the bag up to a better hight so that the leaf on it was visible to Emiko. After a moment Chao helped her manuver the strap over her shoulder so she wouldn't have to keep clutching it and she turned her attention back to Tobais.

She shrugged at the questioning hoop, doubting she'd know the answer to whatever the question had been-then she shreiked, the alien sound instictively rising out of her throat at the thunderous rumble that had just ripped through the air. She clutched onto her mother's leg again.

Chao let out a little squeak of a scream as well and immediately grabbed Sanar, who in turn quickly reached down and grabbed Tobais before she could be hoisted onto her mother's lap.

Boom.

Some might've said she was overreacting, but a befuddled Wyvern would've disagreed, had she been coherent enough to understand the argument, much less respond to it. More rumbling and other BAD NOISES and all she knew was she wanted inside. Now. Granted, she probably didn't have to kick the door in, but when your hands are filled with squaling, squirming aerandir gryphon, well, you just have to make do with what you've got.

Now that they were in, Makai wanted down. The big meeting place was safe. He'd been here before, and despite the loud quakes, he could hear other, far more interesting noises. He wriggled and clawed, squeezing from Wyv's grip as she lowered him to the floor.

The mechanic watched him trot off blankly. Weren't there spare rooms at the lodge? That was a happy thought. A bed would be great. Hell, she'd settle for a chair. ... Or the floor. The floor was nice, smooth and cold. And closer.

She sighed and heaved herself after Makai with great reluctance. Maybe she should just get some caffine. Sleeping through whatever this on-going crisis was would probably be a bad idea. Dazed, she closed the door behind her and made her way toward the fridge.

Progolo sprinted up to the lodge, followed by a dark red griffin that didn't appear to be an Aerandir. Under his arm he was clutching a bag, containing mismatched Aerandir jars. As he burst through the door, though not as violently as Wyvern had, he spluttered, "Wh-what's going on?"

"You must be Chao-" Emi didn't get a chance to finish. The loud noise penetrated her ears, the furry ears snapping right back to her head. Instinctively, Emi pulled both Toby and the jars to her chest. She clung to the leather collar around Toby's neck, the other arm making sure that the two jars didn't stray far.

She didn't even notice the other two enter at first. Toby was panicking, his paws picking themselves up one after the other. Brown orbs darted from one side of the room to the other, and had he not have been held it would have been most probable that he would have been running around the room by now. He wasn't though, thanks to the tight clutch held on his collar.

Emi did her best not to squeak. She hadn't bought into this. She'd only been here a week or so and had been informed that the volcano wasn't active. At least, that information had come from her mind itself. Shaking down to the bone, her brown furry hands clutched onto the collar. "Calm down," The voice was quiet, and fell like a whisper on the breeze. A calming motion in the middle of the storm. Emi glanced up at the woman who'd headed straight to another room.

She winced as the door was slammed open again. Things like this couldn't be helped after all. The furry offered a blank look to the man's question, struggling with the wriggling dog beside her.
"Sorry, I'm not sure. A man was in here just, and told the rest of us to stay put. Sorry I can't help you more," Her words came out like a foreign language. Emi could barely even recognize her own tone. A new diplomatic voice had found its way inside, one of a person trying to stay calm while inside everything rages.

"Shush..." Returning to Toby, Emi stroked her fingers over his darker muzzle. The dog stared glassy-eyed at the newcomer, his whole body quivering as he started to calm down to his masters touch. His tail pressed firmly between his legs, hastily licking his owner's hand.

Progolo pressed further into the room, hoping his griffin wouldn't notice the frenzied dog and start panicking as well.

"So I wasn't hallucinating...I thought I'd heard someone yelling in the village, but I wasn't sure...whoa! Shhhh, calm down, Taal..."

Out of the way of the door, Progolo stopped and firmly flung his arms around the griffin's neck, who'd began to caw fearfully at the sight of the terrified dog. Progolo gritted his teeth, feeling the temperature of Taal's feathers rise as fear gave way to the griffin's Pyrokinetic abilities.

"Hush...you're fine, you're fine," Progolo soothed, trying to keep the strain out of his own voice as he pulled off his jacket and flipped it over Taal's eyes. Taal's wings flapped furiously, but his sudden blindness made him go quiet. After a few more twitches, he slid down onto the floor, quieted.

Progolo sighed and pushed his sweaty bangs out of his eyes. Carefully, he tied the jacket arms around Taal's head so that it wouldn't slide off his face and make him go berserk again, then he sat back and looked around the room curiously.

"Hello," he grinned awkwardly.

It wasn't until she had downed most of a two-liter and several handfuls of chocolate-covered coffee beans that it dawned on Wyv that there were other people in the room. By then she had manuevered over to a spare chair and sat on it, all without conscious thought.

She blinked several times. Nope, still people. Some of whom she knew, some of whom she didn't. This called for introductions.

"... urk."

Unfortunately, such intelligent coversation was beyond her at this point. She sighed and dropped her head to the table with a thump. "Murf," she announced eloquently.

Makai was distracted, first by the two excited animals, and then by the other aerandir. However, he was still nervous and settled for curling up next to Wyvern, his head resting on her shoe. His eyes were bright, watching anything that moved.
