"Thanks again," he smiled sincerely, "I must have caused you some trouble, but I definitely thank you, and I owe you one."
"But you do make a killer pillow," he joked slightly, laughing.
"I'm all set to go too," he nodded to Sylam. "If we're going to stop Team Aqua, we're not going to do it out here. Lead the way!" he smiled, "We're ready to save the world again!"

"Okay, so we're set," Sylam nodded, before ducking into the hole the removed stone had created, descending the staircase below. "Just watch out for the steps, they might be a bit slick, since we're going below the water rather quickly," he advised, glancing back over his shoulder, before continuing downward. He dug around in his bag for a moment, before withdrawing a flashlight, clicking it on, he chased away the fleeting shadows in front of their steps.
The staircase, for the most part, were carved from the rocks themselves, one with the formation, however, the deeper you got, the more calculated the steps seemed, even as far as a place that looked like it held torches every few feet or so.

The sounds of shouting could be heard up ahead, and it was plain that it was the Aquas, since this wasn't exactly the hot tourist spot of Lilycove.
Up ahead, a group was at work, mostly grunts, but more than a few admins within view as well, overseeing the excavation.
"Hurry it up, we'll find it no matter what!" one admin shouted, ordering the grunts into a frenzy of movement, each scattering in their search for the half of the blade. For the most part, all they had found was rubble, as the remnants of the ancient battle remained, even in the temple. One grunt shrieked, running away as fast as his legs could carry him, unearthing a skeleton by mistake.
"Get back to work, slackers!" another admin shouted, shaking her head as she continued to dig. To be reduced to such menial tasks was rather degrading, but she knew she had to endure it for now. After all, it was what the boss ordered.
That didn't stop her from taking it out on the grunts, as she shoved one out of the way, continuing her search elsewhere.
"Aw, can it Shelly, we're all in the same boat, another admin scolded her.
"Shut up, Sean!" she snapped.
"Touchy, aren't we," Sean laughed, making his way deeper into the temple grounds to make his search, "I just came to say someone found the library, perhaps its worth a look there?" he commented, pointing further down the hall.
"And look at moldy books? No thanks," Shelly muttered, crossing her arms.
"Sooo, what about the main altar?"
"No way! That's grunt work, send some newbie team to search there," Shelly shouted indignantly, before stomping off.
"Whatever," Sean shrugged, before continuing to search.
"Matts is more likely to dig something up than her," he muttered, shaking his head.

Shelly sneered, staring down Kaya for a moment, clearly not in the best of moods. Great, just what she needed, another kid to keep track of. Didn't Archie think she had enough work already?! "Feh, whatever, newbies can't even keep track of your welcome packet," she muttered absently, waving her hand. "Fine then, what's your water type Pokemon they assigned you?" she asked.

Flipping his ears back the best he could to hide them in his hair, Brayden stepped forward alongside Kaya, hoping he couldn't make things worse.
"Feraligatr!" he said quickly, "We work as a team, so they assigned us a single Pokemon to work with," he nodded as if that explained everything, sending out said alligator. Cye took one look at the admin, and started growling, until Brayden stepped on his tail, not thinking of anything else that would get his attention in time before he tried to bite a chunk out of Shelly. Eyes widening, Cye was about to question his trainer, but Brayden recalled his starter, sending a silent apology to Cye, who no doubt would be more than a little miffed when he was next called on.
"Uh... we're still working on training him," he explained sheepishly. "We're still kinda new to this..."
"So if you could just point us where to start looking, we'll be out of your hair!"

"Hmm..." Shelly stared suspiciously at the two for a moment, but shrugged a moment later, "Whatever," she sighed, shaking her head. "You really should learn to keep track of your Pokemon..." "Anyway, get your butts in gear and start searching the main altar, it looks like I've got library duty," she muttered. "You know the drill, find anything, and tell Sean." "On second, thought," she grinned evilly. Payback time, "Oh Sean!" she called sweetly, getting the attention of the other admin who was currently precariously stacking a few slabs of marble. He looked up at the mention of his name, and came when Shelly beckoned. "Wha?" he yawned, "Since when do you order me around? We're on the same level," he advised her, shaking his head. "Keep an eye on these newbies for me, will ya?" Shelly requested. "Since you're making me search the library, the least you can do is make sure these two don't mess up." "Hn, whatever, just don't mess up anything while you're in the library. I'm sure there are some important texts in there. After all, they've been lost for hundreds of years." "Yeah, yeah, whatever, Mr. Sudden Bookworm," Shelly waved her hand dismissively as she vanished down a corridor. "Just keep them out of trouble, and you'll be fine..." Sean shook his head again, "She thinks she owns the place," he commented to Kaya and Brayden, "Even though Matts and I hold the exact same amount of power. Meh, whatever... So!" he turned to the two, smiling, "You're the new recruits? Didn't think we were working too hard on recruiting with this new mission, since pretty much everyone available's working on the project, but welcome aboard!" he extended his hand.

"Ow-oh uh, right!" Brayden chirped with an eager nod. "We happened across someone, and before we knew it, we were shipped off to Lilycove!" Well, that really hadn't been that much of a lie, all things considered.
"So here we are, ready to work," he laughed. "We came as soon as we got the summons, so we were in a bit of a rush. I still can't believe we forgot our uniforms," he murmured, "I'll be sure to make up for it, though. So I'm sure if you give us a chance, you'd be surprised at what we can get accomplished!"

"Sure thing, kiddo," Sean nodded, pointing down one of the many hallways that lined the temple grounds. "This place has been around here for hundreds of years, but we haven't really known about it until now," he explained. "The higher-ups are looking for something that's supposed to be here. Half of a knife or something," he shrugged. "They won't really tell us what its for, but you'll get used to that rather quickly," he laughed. "They don't like to tell even us admins too much info, in case of an information leak or something lame like that." "Where we're supposed to look, according to Miss High and Mighty anyway, is the main altar. That's where many of the ceremonies and festivals took place in this temple, anyway, so there might be a chance we'll find something there." "So, might as well get started!" he grinned, motioning the two forward. "We've got a lot of digging to do... Hm..." he paused, taking a step closer to Brayden... "You look familiar somehow..." he commented, almost offhandedly. "Someone I met... nah," he laughed, continuing down the columned hallway.

Brayden hoped he didn't blanch as the admin took a closer inspection of him, and just as equally hoped Sean didn't hear the sigh of relief as the admin didn't find anything suspicious to him. Yet anyway, he mentally reminded himself, as he followed on alongside Kaya.
"Good plan," he whispered with a smile, "That was some quick thinking."
