Masa's eyes flickered as she noticed a woman coming up behind Ferosa, who then placed a hand firmly on Ferosa's shoulder. Before Masa could even wonder who the woman was, Ferosa had pierced her hand with a dagger, which was hidden again just as quickly.

Masa was stunned. She looked breifly down at Onion Knight, then back at Ferosa, and then finally at Roan. "Who is sh-" She was cut off as the strange woman began shouting at Ferosa about Roan. 'I don't get this at all...maybe Ferosa is Roan's ex? And this woman is Roan's girlfriend?' As she looked at Roan, she frowned as she saw that he was trying to place his attention elsewhere. 'Some boyfriend he would make...' She thought sarcastically.

Just then, Ferosa addressed her. Her words seemed rather forbodeing, but at the same time, they were meaningful. "Take care of yourself..." Masa answered in a hushed voice. She was concerned for Ferosa. After all, she had just injured someone, and Masa was now wondering what would happen if the injured woman went to the authorities. Ferosa must've had a good reason though. Although she had only just met the woman, she knew she must be a good person, if she's a friend of Onion Knight's.

After Ferosa had disappeared into the crowd, Masa's attention turned to the other woman, who was now having a go a Roan. 'What is her problem?' Masa's thoughts were interrupted as she felt Onion Knight pressing lightly against her leg. She looked down at him, concerned, before looking back at the woman, frowning. "Listen you, wh-" She was interrupted again, this time by the woman's shreiking. Masa swung round and looked towards the chamber. "What? Why?" Her voice was a little more high-pitched. What the hell was going on? She looked back down at Onion Knight. "What is Ferosa trying to do?"

The hostess looked vaguely confused at the outburst and after a few moments of silence she glanced wistfully towards the door of the Chamber in an attempt to see what they were going on about - as far as she could see the door was shut and the band were still playing as though nothing had happened, it was therefore no surprise that she began to worry for their sanity at that precise moment in time.

"Don't be silly, nobody can take the Crystals without the Guardians permission - don't spread mean rumours!" She scolded towards Dune as she bustled over and stared at the woman, her eyebrow quirked almost mechanically in the process.

Dune however was less than impressed and after a few moments she shot a glare towards James before gathering her skirts and brushing passed the hostess, who let out a wail of protest even as Dune tore up the stairs and towards the door to the chamber where she was met by a rather nasty surprise -

BAM

The moment her hand pressed against the doorway a hidden shield literally exploded and hurled the woman backwards into the crowd where she knocked a number of waiters and visitors over all at once. Still, such an explosion was enough for a few of the masked people who had first arrived with Ferosa to exchange glances and within moments they began to weave through the crowds towards strategic positions in the hallway and close to the doors.

Dune in the meantime, sprung to her feet again and clasping her ribs she shot an angry glare towards the door before lifted her free hand to press against the mirror around her neck where a small glowing crystal flickered within.

"Traitors..." She whispered, "TRAITORS!" She repeated, tearing the mirror off desperately (causing it to shatter upon the floor) before darting towards the doorway, her eyes narrowing as a pair of the masked beings attempted to stand in her way.

"Roan!" She ordered, failing to slow down as she approached the door to the exit of the temple for at that moment the vines outside the temple swung through the open doorway and plastered the unfortunate men against the wall - allowing Dune to sprint through, "We leave - we have to stop her!" She roared from outside as the peculiar druid cleared his throat and stalked out after her.

"Hurt it?" The hostess murmured vaguely, "The guardian will deal with that..." She scoffed again and then stared dolefully at her destroyed tables and the vines that were now tearing apart her table cloths, "What did I ever do to deserve this? My parties always used to be so nice."

Junkan frowned, looking at Dune, and some other, strange man running out past him. The confused frown only lasted for a minute, however, as he turned back down, looking at some of the food he had taken with him, tearing into the flesh, and crunching bones in his hunger.

James smiled, and actually laughed a bit, as he walked through what was left of the crowd, towards the vines near the doorway, and the people trapped there. In one smooth motion, he drew out his lance, looking at the vines, then the people trapped there. His eyes darted back and forth for a moment, before he laughed again, a cold, malicious laugh, as he put the lance away again, the man shaking with some strange, unspoken mirth as he went towards a seat near the musicians.

The man finally looked up, a frown on his face, as he watched the woman, and Roan leaving. He hadn't recognized her, probably wouldn't have had a clue who she was, if it wasn't for Roan there as well. His eyes dropped down to whatever object he was holding, and it was quickly stowed away in his pocket once more. His arms wrapped around his knees, holding his legs close to him, as he tried to wait out the storm of, well, whatever was happening. He was trembling, muttering to himself. He had been, ever since that explosion sounded.

Ky seemed to be hiding something, Zayn thought. He knew enough about his own sneaky habits to recognise them in someone else. But he didn't like to pry either, so he let it go as Mirror returned.

"THE CRYSTALS!" A female voice screamed over the top of the music. "She's taking the crystals!"

"What?!" Zayn jumped, feathers fluffed up in agitation. Disbelief showed on his face. "How?"

Running inside, it appeared that everyone had the same idea. Most seemed to be just as confused as himself, so he wondered who had sounded the alarm and where they had gone. "A theif?" he muttered to himself. "I can't allow that. Not even I would take such sacred treasures... I won't let someone else steal them away."

Now... to run out the front door and try to pick a direction, or glide from the balcony and hopefully get a batter view of the theif?

((Epee, could Zayn glide off the balcony to catch up? Or will there be a shield-thing there as well?))

Masa, getting more frustrated by the minute, stood and watched as Dune ran up the stairs towards the Chamber, only to be hurled backwards and into the crowd. Masa didn't know which way to turn at that moment, so much was going on. After Dune called out to Roan, Masa turned to him, a desperatly confused look on her face. It was him who was controlling the vines. It seemed like one question after another was coming to her attention, and she wasn't getting answers to any of them. A soft whimper escaped her lips. "I don't understand any of this..." She watched, rather helplessly, as Roan and Dune left. Then someone else came to her attention.

A deep frown appeared on her face. "It's that jerk from the forest..." She muttered as she made her way over to the man named James, who was now mocking the men that were pinned to the wall. With her fists clenched, Masa shoved past the man as he was turning away from the other men. Sighing heavily, trying her best not to let her anger get the best of her, she half-smiled at the men. "Don't worry, I'll get you down..."

"Yin, Yan-" She stopped as she considered whether or not to bring Yang forth. Looking around, she shook her head. "There's too many people...Yin, come and help these men!" It was unsual for her to call upon only one of her "guardians", but she had doubts that Yang being in the hall would make things any better. Slowly, the large, fat and happy panda that was Yin appeared. Once he had fully materialized, he bent down and nuzzled against Masa, a curious concerned look on his constantly cheerful face. "I'm fine..." She smiled. "Just go help those guys..." She pointed towards the vines, and no sooner had she done that, Yin was tearing the vines down. It didn't take him long to free all the men. Masa stood up on her tip-toes to reach the panda's face so she could pet him. "Good job..."

A blissful smile was plastered upon Merrick's face as he swept Niva around the dance floor; it was not often he found such a talented dancer as was she. He'd been expecting to need to slow his pace for any he danced with tonight, but was delighted to find that this lovely lady could keep up with him.

A shriek disrupted his moment of bliss, and Merrick immediately brought the dance to a halt to look towards the woman who was screaming. She seemed injured, and...that noble woman there, who had greeted him at the door...she was hurrying off through the crowd! She must be the thief!

Muttering a polite "excuse me" to his dance partner, Merrick dashed after the woman...only to be stopped dead in his tracks as someone else managed to block her path first. Then the injured shrieking woman ran toward the same doorway the hostess seemed to be heading for, and was blown backwards. Wait...who was the thief? But she had screamed about someone taking something, why should she be trying to take the same thing herself? What in the blazes was going on here?

Deciding that Dune was crazy, a powerful mage, and a menace to society, Merrick moved to the side of the sorrowful hostess. It was, after all, his duty to help a lady of high standing in distress.

"It is quite a mess," Merrick said softly to her. "I have no idea what that woman was thinking. But the party isn't ruined yet, milady...look, the band is still intact and if we do something about those vines, we may be able to save most of the food and those lovely tables."

@Kalindara - Yes he may glide up onto/off the balcony however he probably won't be successful in stopping her due to the magical barriers the airship is about to generate.

Suddenly an unearthly chill settled over the temple, and a thick, black mist began to creep into the main hall through the the cracks in the floor and walls. The unnatural fog appeared to curl and twist in agitation about the feet of those gathered and in moments everyone was knee deep in it. A coldness issued forth from the direction of the crystal chamber, an emptiness made further worse by the shadowed mist that seemed to drain the warmth from one's own body.

Something... someone... had invoked the anger of the wraith guardian.

A low and threatenting growl rolled forth from behind the enchanted chamber doors, followed in response by an impossibly loud *BOOOOOM* that litterally shook the temple to its foundation. A strange silence fell over the main hall after the explosion, but it was soon broken by a harsh, grating noise... the sound of chains mercilessly wiping across stone joined a long succession of more loud and unnerving explosions, blasts and other, stranger noises.

The sounds of a heated battle continued to dominate the temple, but it was difficult to discern the progress of either side without a clear view. It was all happening very quickly, and the swirling of the heavy mist was so very disorienting.....

In mere moments the encounter came to a conclusion, the only sound coming from within the chamber now was the uneven *clink* *clink* *clink* of the guardian's chains as she moved across the chamber. The heavy black mist seeped liquid-like into the floor and the barrier blocking the chamber doors extinguished.

There upon the stairs stood the wraith guardian, fully manifest in the form of a chain bound, ivory skinned woman with hair and eyes blacker than the deepest shadows in all of Gaia. The spirit's slender form seemed to suck the light from the very air around her, giving her a halo of darkness that shifted and coiled about her body as if it contained the life that seemed so absent from its host.

With what appeared to be only barely controlled fury the guardian scowled vehemently. Then she stumbled.. and fell, her body reverting back to its misty state. The shadow of a woman hovered at the base of the stairs and her voice, unmistakable in its unearthly quality, floated across the hall in an empty echo.

"She has a crystal..." And the shadow faded before those gathered until all that remained was cold, empty air.

~Meanwhile Upstairs~

The roguish being flung herself up the stairwells and onto the balcony, releasing a high pitched whistle to alert those below that she had been successful. That done, she allowed herself to take a small breath in order to regain her strengths before making her way briskly towards the balcony - where she paused once more to briefly admire the crystal and ensure that it was intact.

To all those who could catch a glimpse they would know instantly that it was a treasure indeed and the small smirk upon the woman's lips made it evident that she was delighted with her prize.

Still, after a few moments the woman lifted her hand and pointed towards the clouds where the large green airship known only as Regalia descended upon the charred forests outside the temple whereby it gave the rogue the opportunity to leap from the balcony and dart towards it...

~And Downstairs Again~

The unfortunate hostess could only splutter in response to Merrick's comforting words as the panda's tore apart the vines and damaged a number of tables and fine foods in the process - the look of absolute horror could only emphasize the fact that her day was getting worse by the second and it did as the Guardian made her revelation clearer.

"Remind me never to have a party again." She mumbled in a meek manner, completely disregarding the fact that the 'entorage' that had previously been with the rogue as they proceeded outside through the chaos in the hope of escaping...

Outside

Anyone hoping for a fast escape or pursuit by land might notice that there was a black gelding tethered to a tree in front of the Temple. The horse seemed spooked by all the noise, not to mention the airship, but was remaining quite calm for one of her species. She had not yet tried to break free and run.

Back to Merrick

"Who has a crystal?" Merrick demanded of the empty air, his mind too busy trying to figure out the events and the magical properties behind them to be scared. It was all very confusing; he didn't know what was what any more. And this mist was as fascinating as it was chilling...if there were only some way he could save it to study later...

The nobleman gave his hostess a comforting look...or as much of one as he could manage. "Perhaps we'd best just call it a loss after all...if that crystal isn't returned soon, that..spirit is likely to turn us all into icicles."

With that, he quickly approached one of the more intact tables and, grabbing the most empty wine bottle he could find, poured its contents into four glasses. He used the then empty bottle to try and capture some of the black mist for later study.

Now...what was he going to do with this fine wine? It would be a crime against his hostess and all things good to waste it...

His eyes fell upon a trembling man ((Roger)) cowering nearby, and Merrick deftly handed the poor fellow a glass. "Buck up," he told him. "If we don't get that crystal back, I'm afraid that ghosty will expend her considerable wrath on all of us. This isn't the time to be sitting about trembling."

That left three glasses, and there was no one else nearby. Downing the smallest glass, Merrick took the other two in his hands and carried one over to his dancing partner ((Niva)). "I'm sorry our dance had to end this way," he said. "I was having such a lovely time, and you are quite the dancer. Perhaps we can talk some other time, when this whole crystal business is finished with."

One glass left. Returning to his hostess's side, Merrick handed her the remaining glass. "For milady's nerves," he explained.

Lost in all the flurry, Fire shook his head awake after what seemed to be a short nap.

"Wow.. is it me or did something go awfully wrong?" he whispered to himself as he looked around worriedly. Everyone seemed to be after something, so he decided to find out himself as he tried to spot a familiar face around. Looking around quickly and feverishly he couldn't find someone he knew. Zayn wasn't anywhere to be seen... nor was Mirror.

What's going on... he thought.

The Crystals! She's taking the Crystals!!

Upon hearing this outragous news, Mirror, his wings raising up in a furry, shrieked something inhuman and followed Zayn into the hall. He listened to every word, scream, sigh, and gasp that the temple immited and he braced himself against the mist beside Zayn, grimacing against the explosion. When they old woman came out and announced to them that a crystal had been stolen, Mirror's golden eyes exploded with a furry and he looked to Zayn.

"We have to do something!" He cried, "We have to help!"

He followed Zayn to his destination, all the meanwhile fluttering his wings and holding them up in a twitching furry. Who would steal so precious a thing? Why would they even dare treat them like an item to be stolen?!

Racing into the main hall, Ky was just in time to see a woman be repelled, violently, after having touched the crystal chamber door. Ky gasped and would have rushed to her aid but there wasn't any need, the woman promptly stood up and rushed out the front door, with the silver-haired man's help -whos name and ability were not lost on Ky-.

Rather confused Ky glanced around to wurvey the damage. It would appear that no one had been hurt, not counting the men who'd attempted to block Dune and Rown's path, and that was good. Ky noticed the poor hostess as she too surveyed the damage all around her. [The poor dear. She threw such a wonderful party, she must be devastated.]

Just then, Ky felt a gust of wind glide brush up against her. {Ky we must do something.} [Yes I know, but what??] {Look, there! Those men were with the woman who stole the crystal! Maybe they know where she's going? What she wants it for?} Misa sqwauked.

Ky saw them, but knew it was pointless to attempt to run after them so instead she focused her energy on producing a vine in the hopes of ensnaring one of the escaping men. It was a long shot due to her newness to druid magic but it was all she could think of at the moment.

There were too many people ahead of him to try and get out the way the way they'd entered, Zayn decided. Sprinting back towards the balcony, he took a flying leap, snapping his wings open to glide down the ground. He angled his descent to bring him closer to the path he thought he'd seen the theif go.

A sudden change of winds foiled his landing, throwing Zayn roughly back to the ground. Looking up, Zayn spied the airship descending and had to raise an arm to protect his eyes from the fierce winds. "Give that back!" he yelled over the wind as best he could, trying to chase after the rogue. Unfortunately his lighter bone structure meant that he had a harder time not being blown about.

Following the loud noises and frantic yelling, he tried to find it's exact source as he himself frantically ran around looking for Zayn and Mirror or anyone... More than ever now he's become extremely scared and worried. Unknown to the current events, he became frightened of what could possibly be happening. He only hoped that everyone was out of harm's grasp.

Im scared... I hope everyone's alright..

Masa was as concerned as anyone about the crystal, but instead of making her way outside to the Airship, she walked back to where Onion Knight and Behebuncle stood. The cold, dark mist was almost covering them as she knelt down before them, unsure what to say. 'Had Ferosa betrayed them? Had Roan betrayed them by aligning himself with this Dune character?' Not very nice questions to ask the two small companions, who both looked terribly upset. The sounds of battle from behind the Chamber doors were so loud, so frightening.

Yin only stood with Masa momentarily, then he noticed the few trays of food that remained on the lucky tables that had escaped destruction and made his way over to them.

Then there was silence. Masa looked up towards the Chamber, just in time to see the weakened Guardian stumble forward. Masa went to stand up to help her, but the Guardian fell into the dark mist and seemingly evaporated. The young druid shook her head. "This is all so sad...what can we do Onion?"
