Flare was now relatively safe behind the walls of the fortress, and cursing Hakan for leaving her with a debt she might not be able to repay.
Her hands were beginning to glow, and she was racing up to join the shade archers, where she'd have a better view of the battle.

((Does that count as one of those forced save reduce defense by 5 points things?))
Fourteen took cover after he had fired the shot. The rifle had to at least cool down somewhat before he'd take another shot.
Ji Long however, would be navigating the ruins with more or less impunity, hidden by the chameleon suit and whatnot.
The two remaining UGH soldiers opened fire on whatever was left of the archers on the parapets after the grenade had exploded, possibly throwing a bunch of them off.

(( No, it doesn't. ))
The three goons who had chased after Haken hopped the wall shortly after he rolled behind it.
Two were brandishing machettes, the other had a handaxe.

Though Hakan wasn't ******** for long. Nobody had paid atention to the group of shades charging forward. One stayed behind and lifted his sheild to protect the fallen archer. The other five, began to charge at the three coming for Hakan, the armoured shade swinging his mighty axe at the center while the two spearmen went for the other two.
The remaing two sword and sheilders put their kites up and charged the two goons covering the aformentioned three.
The archer shades weren't stupid enough to let an explosive device hit them. They all dived behind the wall. Two got caught in the resulting explosion while the others escaped. The arrow volley had ceaced.
The fallen shadow bishop was blow to peices.
It was about this time the fire bishop charged some explosives of his own.

Hakan was waiting, for something at least.
An arrow was quickly shot at one of the men as he hopped over the wall, likely making the goon sprout arrows in his throat. That one would probably be down.
Then it was a quick step back as Hakan dropped his bow and pulled out the two blades at his side swiftly. The step back would give him a little extra time, but beyond that, he just had to hope he got the blades out before he was attacked by the remaining two goons, or anyone else.

Eyes opened, even as the vibrations of explosions not too far off carried through the ground.
He was sweat stained, and his left shoulder crudely bandgaed up, but he was alive. After finding Flare along the bank, he had barely anytime to ask more of here before Shades started grouping.
He had done the only thing he could do: ran.
Although he was supposed to take back a specimen for Yaits, he hadn't exactly been in the greatest of conditions.
Not long after, a serious firefight had apparently broken out, but he remained unseen. It was valuable time that he used to patch himself back up and get a breather; crouched and hunkered down in a bit of ruins himself.
Alright then...
Running a hand through his hair, he got up to both feet, cracking his neck to the side, before taking hold of a jagged edge with his left hand, and vaulted on over.
Flamberge over his right shoulder, he made a mad dash into the fray.

Flare reached the archers after the explosion had taken its toll, and wondered why they were all hiding behind the wall.
She took a quick peek over it, trying to assess the situation before ducking down again. Mostly just trying to gauge where Hakan was and what she should hurl her fire at.

(( Turn order? ))
One of the men who had hopped took an arrow to the shoulder, knocking him over and calling him to fall into a lump beside the short wall they had jumped.
The other two? Well, they had their weapons drawn when they went after Haken, they weren't stupid enough to do so without them. Coming down, the one with the hand axe attempted to bury it into Haken's dominant arm when the bow was drawn. The other went for more of a sidelong slash at Haken's hip, not wanting to cut his compatriot if he missed.
The charging shades took the two men unawares, trampling them under armored feet.
However, they had run straight through the group that had been firing upon the walls, and when they regained their footing they hit the shades from behind with a fresh volley.
2 shotguns. 2 rifles. One thrown axe.

One of the remaining UGH soldiers took hold of the grenade launcher which was dropped by the dead man and quickly took aim. How many shots were already fired from its six cylider? Three? Four? Well, with the ceasefire of the arrows, he'd direct his attention to the opening and fire what remained of the grenades in the cylinders at the side of the doorway. Those coming out, going in, and all that right at the doorway between the six foot thick walls would have to walk through two or three explosions. Fourteen peeked back out one last time when the rifle had ten seconds to cool off. He brought the weapon up and took aim... Vahn Kyonuske Running a hand through his hair, he got up to both feet, cracking his neck to the side, before taking hold of a jagged edge with his left hand, and vaulted on over. Flamberge over his right shoulder, he made a mad dash into the fray. One would have to wonder where the hell all these people came from, but then again, Fourteen had only entered the scene not too long ago. The battlefield would be right by the doorway into the fortress, and as such, that was where Fourteen had been targetting. This man who had also jumped in would have to deal with a metal slug ripping through the air at hypervelocity towards his head. After the last shot, Fourteen would order a general retreat as he would go back over the bridge on the Rocky Lake. The remaining two UGH soldiers would have to once again, weave through the ruins to get away, seeking cover at the same time. -> Rocky Lake

I didn't exit the fortress, if that's what you mean. I'm coming from behind everyone, since my guy was still at the river bank.

The axe slammed into Hakan's arm before he gould get the blade out to block, and that blade dropped. the arm was still there, luckily, but with a cut like that he wouldn't be shooting for a while.
Meanwhile, his other blade managed to block the machete in time, allowing Hakan to quickly try to slash at the man. But really, if he couldn't, Hakan was just going to do his best to defend. He couldn't die yet. He wouldn't let himself. He wouldn't...

The sound of battle reached Kami's ears before he and the reinforcements arrived, causing him to slow down their movement to a more cautious speed. Trailing behind him were five shades, two Rooks and three Bishops. The bishops consisted of two utilising Null magic, and one more attuned with Ice. From what Kami could see the other shades were literally holding down the fort, and he was coming up behind the attackers.
Pausing for a moment before moving into the ruins, he gave the mental command for his Shikigami to prepare metal reflection wards and bit down hard on his index finger until blood began to seep out. With this he wrote an esoteric character on his forehead, and muttered something under his breath. The blood dried instantly with a bit of steam and basically bean acting as an antennea to the mental link all the Shades shared. With this he could command them as easily as one of their own.

The shades had only gotten halfway to Haken, as there was a mass of goonsquad between them.
It took the goons 3 posts to get to Haken, it'll take the shades more than one to cover that distance, as well as the distance between where they were and the stronghold.
The 2 men who had been aiming guns where Haken was were taken out, but the 3 who hopped the wall still hopped the wall with time to spare.
Resolve.

Once again grenades. The shades in the entrance once again scattered, three into the base and two rolled into the field, forming swords as they did. The three that ran into the base didn't waste time, and ran right to the fort.
The seven remaining archers were less aware, loosing another two as they scattred. Then they went running back to position, but wouldn't be there yet.
The fire bishop had finished his spell, and was holding a firey ball of death in is hands. Once the explosions died down the bishop rand up to one of the archer stands and lobbed the ball towards the direction of the grenades before ducking back down under the wall. The UGH would find a fmagical motar shell zooming right towards them, one that would explode violently in magical fire as it hit.
The charging shades took some major casualties from behind. Both the spearmen taking most of the hits and two of the swordsment getting grazed. The two hit swordsmen and the third unwounded pivioted around, raised their sheilds and charaged towards the firing group. The armoured shade contuned towards the archer, pulling his great axe back so he could hit the moment he got to Haken.
The spearmen simply melted.
