a cheaper way to make grey knights would require you knowing how to sculpt. Plastic Space marine. One old metal halberd from mail order per man. ******** of greenstuff. several hours of spare time.

Oh I could probalby do a good job of trading out their weapons. The Stormbolters would be very difficult, as none of us really play Marines enough to have spare bolters laying around, but the glaives/swords wouldn't be a problem at all. What I'm really worried about is that some people around here are so a**l they get upset at any change from a standard model at all. Even if I changed out the weapons they'd be upset because the helmets were different and they didn't have the scrolls, shields, etc. on a Grey Knight model. Am I wrong in converting an army? I suppose giving you pictures would help....

If it is on the model, they can not do A damn thing about it, except cower in fear of the might of your daemonhunters. As it stands, it even says that they do not all use halberds, and that some use other weapons, as they see fit. mrgreen

I hate a**l wysiwyg people. So long as you told me you were using Daemonhunters rules and pointed out your units and they have the correct equipment, I'm fine with it. You got the NFW? It's a Nemesis Force Chainsword? That's fine. Stormbolter? Awesome. Power armor? It's painted red and it's a normal marines armor cause you wanted a different look? It's still power armor, fine by me. You got the equipment, so looks like Grey Knights to me.
Honestly I'd think it'd look pretty cool if you'd customized up some normal marines to Grey Knights. If you can get some pics throw them up!
P.S. Yeah I've been gone for about forever, I'm kinda back now though. Finals and WoW consumed me.

As good as I could ever hope? Anyway, yeah, that is cool. And like I said, not all NFW are the same. Some ARE chainswords, others are halberds, and A few are probably knives or warhammers. mrgreen

Daemonhunter chainswords? Are there? The Codex said there were varied Nemesis Force Weapons, but I never saw a picture of one being a chainsword. It's an interesting idea, but they just seem too mechanical to me to actually work. For whatever reason I think of Force and Power weapons as smooth metal crackling with energies, not the noisey gears and gas powered goodness of the chainsword. Besides, I've most of a box of Warhammer Fantasy Militiamen. They provie an abundant number of pistols, crossbows, and various close combat weaponry. So far their bits have made my Inquisitor's Retinue look pretty darned awesome I think. Tho I am curious as to what role he'll play in the grand scheme of my army, as I want him to move around a lot but also be a shooting unit. Makes it difficult to plan strategies around him, or decide whether or not to leave him in the Chimera I made him or not. Any suggestions?

I'm guessing that NFW's are just like Power Weapons. If you can fit the Power Field Generator on the weapon then it officially becomes a PW/NFW.

Boy, just goes to show you why I only have two squads of the guys as Fast Attack choices and the rest of my army is Stormtroopers and other things. With a little work I could make it a Radical army and field Daemonhosts, but I decided I prefer Grey Knights for the raw power. Is the novel any good? I know the Ultramarines novels with Uriel are fantastic.

And I see NFW as being more of conduits for the Grey Knights minds, so as to let them use their powers better. Therefore, if you can make it look cool, and everyone knows what it is, then it is cool by me.

Relkin9 WARCRAFT JUNKIE!!! Cool. How is it BTW? As good as I could ever hope? I put it like this to my friends: "I absolutely, positively hate it when companies make me pay-to-play games. Nothing infuriates me more then pay-to-play, it loses customers and doesn't apply to everyone. I now play WoW. Yes, it's that damn entertaining." Actually at the time no money was coming out of my pocket to buy it, so more reason why I picked it up. I was probably going to get it later anyways though. But yeah, I keep trying to tell them to put on the box "Makes avid haters of pay-to-play, play the game" XD If you got the money pick it up, it's a ton of fun. Half the fun is that they actually went and made seperate RP servers for people who want to RP can, so I found an awesome guild who RPs and that's about half my fun as well. Anyways, getting off topic. Quote: After reading Grey Knights by Ben Counter I know that they use NFW in the form of Halberds, Swords, Hammers, and Maces. I'm guessing that NFW's are just like Power Weapons. If you can fit the Power Field Generator on the weapon then it officially becomes a PW/NFW. I need to finish that book. I'm almost half-way through. I started reading it then stopped about the time finals started for me and haven't touched it sense. I'll probably start taking it to my new job to read when there's nothing to do. As for the NFW, what more gives it its punch is that the weapon is constructed uniquely for each Grey Knight and made to match each GK's psychic field so that they can channel their psychic power through each sword. The more powerful the psyker you are, the more powerful the weapon, hense why the NFW is more deadly as it goes up in rank. A normal GK only has enough psychic power to make it a +2 STR weapon, while a Justicar and Terminator can make it a power weapon, and a Grand Master, having fully developed his psychic abilities, is a full fledged psyker and can make his an actual force weapon. At least that's what I got from the codex.

Out of all the Black Library books I own that one is the only one I felt was a waste of money and time. I thought it was boring, and uninspiring. I had to really push myself to finish it. Terrible IMHO....
