The zoroark gave a nod as Fi asked about Dakota being his trainer. "He's my trainer, but I haven't exactly ... done any training with him. I mean I coulda, but I always find something more interesting to do. He's a fun loving guy with a big heart. At least that's how I see him." he replied, a bit sheepish at the admission that it was his own fault for not training. He hoped Ducky was doing alright without him. After all, he had been in a rather deep rut recently. There was no need to go sharing that, however.
Daiki rather liked the sounds of chirping that he has summoned forth- it was soothing to him. Which was nice, because he was feeling anxious the more he picked up on talk of Darkrai. Not only were his own team mates talking about it, but he could faintly catch words about the legend in the distance from other pokemon. The chirping he had dreamed up faded away as Fi asked him if he had heard anything particularly strange nearby. He could hear a faint chattering of a ... some kind of bird? But nearer to them, he could hear a strange sort of grumble in the fog. "There's something near, but it doesn't sound familiar at all..." Daiki replied, nose in the air. He couldn't smell anything different either, which only caused his hair to bristle a bit.

Foo.... Gee, that sure got a response from everyone. One of Gail's ears folded back, and she raised an eyebrow, a smile curling over her face as she ducked her chin into her fluff, giggling a bit. "Boy, you boys sure got plucky," she teased, before looking ahead, relaxing a bit and lifting her tail. "I'm sure it's nothin' we can't handle. C'mon, let's investigate!" she urged excitedly, bounding forward with little reserve.

Ammy had bounded forward excitedly, thinking that a glorious mountain of food might be at the end of the path. However, Daemon caught up to her and stopped her, and in mid bound she slammed into one of his legs, falling back from the impact. She almost wanted to whine, but the houndoom had also hushed her, and she lifted her head, ears perked. While disappointed she hadn't come across any snacks, she still got up to her feet, head lowered to the ground to sniff as they continued forward. "I guess, but... maybe whatever is ahead might point us to food?" she commented, tail wagging at the prospect. Shade found themselves falling in with the group as they all started pressing forward, and even lingered to fall behind a bit, looking around. There should be other pokemon close by, now that Fianna mentioned it. Every now and then, the pokemon thought they heard others talking, but they weren't seeing a lot. As they got closer to, well... whatever was up ahead, though, it seemed like there were other figures pressing in, even if Shade couldn't quite see them yet. "Based on lore, Darkrai controls nightmares. I believe the only form of imprisonment it would be capable of is ensuring pokemon can't wake up from their bad dreams." Dotty reasoned with Piper. She looked thoughtful though when the noivern showed interest in testing the hypothesis that they were in the dream world. "W-well! We would...! Um..... N-need to do something impossible in the physical plane. Like... Radium would need to try flying by herself, or something along those lines." Dotty suggested. "However, because of that it's harder to think of ways to prove that this is the dream world... I m-mean.... How does one exactly go around trying to make the impossible, possible? Even if we were in the dream world, it's not like we instinctively just know how to do impossible things.... R-right....?" A faint blush crossed her grey cheeks, feeling like she was talking utter nonsense now.
Regardless, she agreed with Vivace that they couldn't just stand here worrying about whatever lay ahead. The only way forward was just that—moving forward.
However, as they did so, it felt like everyone in her group was slowly but surely getting ahead of her, kind of like one of those bad dreams with an endless hallway just for her. As everyone moved ahead into the mist, they were somehow faster than she was, even though they all seemed to be going at the same pace, and the fog seemed to obscure them more and more. "U-um...? H-hey guys, w-wait for me!!!" Before long, Dotty couldn't even see Vivace any more when she slid off Ai's back and walked ahead. It sounded like she had seen something, but Dotty didn't want her going off alone. Thankfully it looked like Radium was on her tail, so maybe the pichu had a good visual.

Xiao Lan probably would have been mildly disappointed that Shade didn't continue the verses, but thankfully it seemed she hadn't noticed, far too distracted now by the bubbles and lights floating around due to her attention span being the size of a pea. Also thankfully due to that distraction, she didn't notice the lewd ideas Daiki seemed tempted to put into place.
In fact, being the child she was, Xiao Lan didn't really seem to be paying much attention to the conversations the "adults" were having any more now that she had bubbles and lights to play with. She chimed in on whatever interested her, or when she felt she had something to say on the matter, but she had a hard time focusing otherwise. Not even the debate about what to call their team. She had moved on from that conversation and forgotten it entirely.
She reigned in her attention again though when she heard Fianna call her name, glancing to the braixen curiously after popping another bubble. "Huh?" She asked. "Oh! Yes. I'm up for anything!" Of course, she had already been zoning out and consequently had no idea what they had been talking about, but felt compelled to answer to make it seem like she was definitely a part of the conversation. She was an adult who could talk with other adults about adult things. Yes. Totally.

Rafflesia grimaced with pain when she felt Argo bite her vine. It was a weak bite but it still stung. Still, Allure was right; they had more pressing matters, if the shadows ahead had anything to say about it. The moment Allure locked eyes with her opponent, Raf carefully began to make her way off the dragon's back. "Eyup. This is where I get off. Thanks for the ride, you can handle this, yeah?" She insisted, sliding off the rest of the way smoothly and landing on the grass with a light yawn. She lifted Luna up as well, setting her on the ground just in case. At least, the ivysaur assumed she might not want to be directly involved in a potential battle based on her earlier comments. "Upsie daisy." She grunted before setting the fluffball back down.
She then looked to Noah when he seemed confused about what was going on. "Think you're about to find out. Hopefully you've still got some blue-ing in ya." She chuckled, sure he'd be fine so long as he stuck with Allure. In the meantime, she and Luna could hold up the rear.
Taking Argo's flute in vine, she held it up, glancing around for signs of the bird. "Hey s**t for brains, you want your flute? Go fetch." With that, she flung it hard into the archway up ahead, past where Allure was headed. Hopefully that would motivate him to stop his grumbling and stick with the group, maybe even fight whatever was up ahead, because as much as she hated the bird, there was safety in numbers.

As Pokemon begin to make their way towards the end of the first floor, a mysterious archway emerges from the fog, covered in moss and blending in with the grass and foggy forest around them.
Pokemon will find that upon passing through this archway, they are separated by a barrier of fog unless they step through together. As each group or solo pokemon takes their final step, the stairs leading to the next floor are guarded by drifloon!
Initially, it seems like maybe there's one, maybe two, but as more pokemon begin to try and make their way to the second floor, dozens of drifloon seem to simply drift down from the mist above and prevent passage. These stubborn balloons will block your way unless something is done about them!

Spinach huffed at Yuki's comment of his trainer. Lawlett wouldn't really care what he would say right? He fell quiet for a moment then softly shook his head. No. Lawlett wouldn't give Spinach up. Lawlett wouldn't ever be like that. He put the thought past him and the comment. There was much more important things to focus on now. Like finding Lawlett and getting out of here.
As the mudkip reassured Spinach they would get back to the others, the oddish calmed down a little. Maybe he needed to hear that. He was thankful that Yuki and Peaches were here with him. "Right." Spinach agreed and turned back to Yuki who was now leading the group and waddled after her. As Yuki mentioned a voice the oddish had to think for a moment. "I heard something but not help." He answered. No... just voices from the day Lawlett found him. He wasn't... exactly sleeping well. "What did you hear?"

☆ ☆【Piper listened intently to Dotty’s explanation, mentioning that according to lore Darkrai had the power to control nightmares. So if it were to be able to imprison other Pokemon, it would only be able to do so by making sure they couldn’t wake up from their bad dreams. ”S-Sounds scary… H-Having a b-bad dream that you c-can never wake up f-from…” she said with a frown as she shook her head. If this whole weird dream world they were in was indeed a bad dream, hopefully they would be able to wake up from it once Darkrai was defeated. Upon questioning the Duosion on how they would be able to validate the theory that this was indeed a dream world, the Noivern listened as Dotty explained that they would have to do something that would otherwise be impossible in reality. For example, perhaps Radium could attempt to fly by herself, because she had no wings and couldn’t fly normally in the real world then perhaps she would be able to accomplish an otherwise impossible feat in the dream world. On the other hand, however, it would be more difficult to think of ways to actually prove this was just a dream, and Piper tilted her head in thought at Dotty’s question of how someone was to go about making the impossible, well, possible. ”U-Ummm… Well, if th-this is a d-dream world, th-then maybe doing the im-impossible is as s-simple as just i-imagining it?” she suggested, hoping that what she was saying made at least some lick of sense, ”I-I mean, even if it is j-just a dream, you could still c-control it to s-some degree, r-right? Like, ummm… m-maybe willing things into e-existence from n-nothing?” She was hardly as smart as Dotty or Ai, but perhaps it wouldn’t be that farfetched that perhaps they had some degree of control over this dream environment around them even though Darkrai more or less ruled this place.
”I s-suppose we could t-try to test it l-later… Seems we h-have other th-things to worry about,” she spoke, glancing towards the path ahead as the grass below transitioned into moss-laden stones leading to a strange-looking archway that appeared to mark an entrance of some sort. Beyond, a seemingly formless shadowy shade appeared to stand guard before a set of large stone stairs, clearly marking that as where they had to go in order to progress any further. However, as other groups ahead began passing through it, a barrier of fog suddenly leapt up and obscured them from view. It seemed they would have to go through it together, but Piper’s ears flicked as she heard Dotty’s voice from behind them calling out for them to wait up for her. ”O-Oh! Uh, w-we’re right up h-here, Dotty!” she called back to the Duosion, glancing between the path ahead of them and their teammate who was lagging a bit of a ways behind them. Seemed they would have to divide themselves up temporarily for the time being… as much as Piper wanted to keep pushing forward it wouldn’t be right to just leave Dotty behind. Blowing out a soft breath, she gently nudged Radium and Vivace forward with a wing. ”Y-You two go on a-ahead and f-fight that thing,” she said with a hint of encouragement, glancing over towards Ai as well, ”I th-think I’ll stay b-behind to let D-Dotty catch up… W-We’ll catch up w-with you b-both afterwards.” She hoped Radium and Vivace would be fine to go on by themselves for a bit, though between the two of them she felt certain that they would be able to handle going up against whatever it was that lay beyond.】☆ ☆

Stepping up to the deep fog covered opponent, Allure waited a moment to analyze her opponent, sipping a the darkness it spewed. Whatever the darkness it had surrounding it was it tasted almost bland to the Spiriake. As if it were artificial or not quite as fresh as it should be. Her mind was pulled away for a moment when she felt the weight on her back shift. Looking back she saw Raf had decided to disembark her back, as well as assist Luna off her back as well. When she felt Noah also leave her back, the dragon gave a small shake liking the litheness she normally felt returning. "I should be fine." Allure mentioned before stepping forward. If anyone was to face an unknown foe shrouded in darkness it should be her.
As she approached, the smoke puffed up and faded away, revealing a small ghost-type Pokemon. The dragon arched her head back some. No, this was not Shane. Despite her instincts telling her to bite the ghost, Allure felt a long distance assault would likely be better. Thus she summoned from a select sack within her throat wild blue and purple flames that rushed across the small battle field striking the Drifloon. Despite how weak it looked, the ghost seemed to resist her attack. Had Allure underestimated her opponent? Or was this some sort of trickery? Whatever the case, the dragon wasn't against asking for assistance. Looking back she gathered her makeshift group within her sights. "Something is not right, this ghost is not normal." She called.

Daphnes was happy to hear Mogwai was happy to settle with his roll as a shield. The dragon did feel uneasy though, as he didn't want Mogwai to get hurt while being a shield. He understood the bear might be hard to hurt, but still.. he wouldn't want to put it in the position of being hurt. Which made Daphnes roll as the sword even more important. "Aye. I will do my part as a sword!" Daphnes grinned.
As the duo progressed, it became more and more prevalent that they were in some sort of nightmarish world. Eerie whispering circulated them, and the fog grew thicker towards the edges. The sounds of other Pokemon faded as if they were all being sucked into the fog themselves. Mogwai had mentioned being careful, and Daphnes agreed. They needed to be very cautious. When they came to the shadowy figure, Daphnes noticed a few other groups had managed to get themselves tangled up with shadowy figures of their own. "Perhaps..." Daphnes murmured as Mogwai spoke Darkrai's name. But then fog cleared and what was revealed was nothing more than a Drifloon.... a weak ghost-type to be sure.... but still one could not be to careless. "Hmm. it appears others are attacking it. So perhaps...." Daphnes went over various plans in his head before looking back to Mogwai. "If going through those ghosts is the only way we can advance... it would appear fighting is the only option." The bagon turned, pointing his stick up to Mogwai. "Now is our time of being proper nights. Not all the Pokemon out there can be fighting worthy, so it's up to us to clear a path." Daphnes grinned. Little did he know once one was dealt with more would appear. Still the speech was a worthy enough cause.

Advancing into the fogs, the group came to the end goal it seemed. At the end of a room-like area, a shadowy figure resided. Radium was sadly unaware of Dotty being left behind, her attention on the shadowy figure to strong. The tiny mouse felt her cheeks sparking, but then she noticed another presence beside her. Gazing over she spotted Viviace, the Togepi. The tiny Pokemon seemed to filled with confidence, it took Radium aback. She was just as confident... normally. Why was she suddenly so scared? The mouse narrowed her eyes, and looked back at the Shadowy figure only to see a Drifloon had replaced it. Thousands of Drifloon in fact. "Oh!" The mouse squeaked. "G-ghosts are no problem for me!" The mouse spoke up, stepping froward with her stick held between two paws. This sudden tough act didn't hold up long as when the mouse felt something fall along her back she made the final freak out with a loud shout and cracking Thunder erupted from her cheeks, thankfully the wild sparks moved forward, attacking the Drifloon and not her teammates. Turns our the thing that landed on her back was nothing more than a fallen leaf.

What if your trainer was to get into big trouble and you couldn’t help him?” Her voice was soft and gentle as she spoke, perhaps slightly chiding but she didn’t want him to get defensive if he felt she was criticizing him. ”Excuses are the nails that build the house of failure, at least that’s what I was always told…” she said in a much softer voice, letting the momentary seriousness drop as she focused on Daiki’s statements about his trainer. ”Fun loving with a big heart, huh? Sounds like the kind of person who’d be a good friend for my trainer, Arceus knows she needs more of those,” she said with a light chuckle, ”She’s… not exactly the most experienced with people, and she needs a bit of a push to even strike up a conversation with someone. But she’s very kind and loyal to those she considers friends~” It certainly would be helpful for Phoenix to have at least a small circle of friends that she could rely on, at least Fianna believed so. Kraven was certainly shaping up to be a good friend for Phoenix so far, though there was hardly anything wrong with potentially making more.
Fianna grinned at Beltigre’s compliment as she called forth a swarm of colorful lights to guide them, though it seemed like she was trying not to sound as impressed as she probably was. Not that the fire fox minded, as far as it being some kind of praise from their self-appointed group leader she would be happy to take it. The Torracat didn’t even seem to mind that the majority of their team was more for ‘Team Fluff’, saying that they could call it whatever they wanted on the condition that they represent ‘Team Beltigre’ when they found and fought Darkrai. ”Sure, you got it, boss,” she said with a toothy grin, adding a hint of playful sarcasm at the end. The song they’d been singing before had long since petered out after Shade turned down singing the next line, though Xiao Lan didn’t seem to mind as she was preoccupied with playing around with the lights and bubbles while they walked along. However, the lighthearted atmosphere gradually began to fade as talk of Darkrai began circulating around the group. There was no denying that they would have to fight this being in order to be able to escape, and Fianna nodded in agreement with Beltigre’s statements. ”Well, I wouldn’t go so far to say this is Darkrai’s ‘house’, per se,” the Braixen pointed out, recalling that the Munna from earlier had said this being had taken over the dream world, ”If anything Darkrai is more like the guy who shows up uninvited at the house, decides to crash on the couch for the night and then refuses to leave afterwards no matter how hard you try to throw him out.” She hummed and nodded as Beltigre said that if any of them got too nervous, then she’d be willing to take out whatever enemies they came across on her own. ”I’m perfectly capable of holding my own if it comes down to it, but the offer is much appreciated, Bel,” she remarked with a nod and a chuckle, holding up a fist and letting a few showers of sparks fly off of it as she made a small demonstration of her Thunder Punch.
Of course, that still left whether or not the rest of their team would be able to hold their own in combat if they did indeed have to fight along the way. Beltigre definitely seemed like the fighter type, and despite not knowing too much about it Shade probably was capable in a battle as well. On the other hand, Daiki had admitted to not doing much training with Dakota, which certainly left whether or not he was actually good at fighting up to a bit of debate… And Xiao Lan was still a child, not that Fianna wanted to discount that she probably was quite capable of defending herself even for being as young as she was. But in a world like this, she doubted there would be any room for ‘maybe’ or ‘probably’ when it came to having to deal with whatever came at them between now and when they got to Darkrai… She sighed softly as Xiao Lan spoke up, saying that she was up for anything, even though the Braixen suspected that she’d been too preoccupied with playing around to really be paying attention.
Her attention turned towards Daiki as the chirping birds gradually faded, asking if he’d heard anything particularly out of the ordinary. She furrowed her brow as he mentioned that there was something nearby, but it didn’t sound familiar to him. Turning her ears to the sound, her expression darkened with suspicion and worry upon hearing something coming from the fog in front of them… Low, incoherent murmurs of some kind that sounded hardly like anything she’d heard before. ”Yeah… I hear it too, now that you mention it,” she said lowly, feeling her fur starting to stand on end, her hand instinctively reaching for the branch in her tail, ”Sounds like it could be trouble… we should proceed with caution.” The grassy forest path gradually gave way to a stone road, leading to a strange structure beyond a rock archway where other Pokemon were entering. She frowned upon noticing the thick misty barrier that seemed to separate them upon going inside, beyond which she could see a growing number of figures surrounded by ink black shadow-like smog blocking the way to a set of stone stairs beyond. More and more of them seemed to pop out from the mist as more Pokemon entered the room before them, seemed like these things weren’t going to let anyone pass without a fight. ”Be careful… I don’t think these guys are playing around,” Fianna spoke up, warning the collective group as she turned to assess their positions. Daiki and herself were easily the closest, Xiao Lan seemed to be keeping a steady pace just behind them, while Shade and Beltigre were lagging a bit of a ways behind. It seemed like most of the larger groups were temporarily splitting off into small groups to take on the shadowy figures, perhaps they should follow their example as well… as much as Fianna didn’t want to split up the group. Still, with some of their members still lagging behind a bit, they wouldn’t be able to afford waiting for too long while everyone else pushed on ahead.
”Shade, Bel, please watch Xiao Lan for a bit, I’m going to go on ahead. We’ll meet up on the other side afterwards, alright?” the Braixen said as she nodded towards the Chengshen and Torracat respectively, not wanting to leave the little Noibat completely unsupervised. She then turned to lock eyes with Daiki, nodding her head towards the entrance before them. ”Seems the only way forward is to fight those things… If you think you’re up for some action then let’s go,” she said with a small smirk, turning to face forward once more and stepping past the archway. The moment she did, the inky smog surrounding the dozens of figures suddenly dissipated, revealing them to be a horde of Drifloon. ”Ghost-types, huh? Hardly a problem,” she murmured, directing a surge of electrical energy towards her fists as she clenched them in preparation to jump into the fray as one of the balloon Pokemon broke off from a gaggle nearby and charged right for her.】☆ ☆
