It was starting to get a bit late. Jamie yawned as he followed his group from house to house and rubbed at his eyes. Mmhm, maybe a few more houses. He followed along trying to keep awake. He wanted more goodies and toys though. He could push on a little bit longer.
Then come home and collapse on his moms and cuddle into his mama’s tail and his other mom would sing and help him put all his new things away. He trotted along, his jelly floating after him and the torti a heavy lump in his pocket. Probably should get home soon for these little guys too.
It had been nice talking to her brother. She hurried up the steps, eyes eager and focused and she wanted to bring back a few more things! She giggled, scrunched with her group and looked up, beaming. “Trick or Treat.” Could she get away with just shouting treat please? She really rather have the treat then a trick. Tricks were sort of boring.
She grinned as the nightmare reached down and fastened a bracelet around her wrist. Ooh It was pretty. She tilted her hand this way and that admiring the beads before saying thank you! It was so pretty.
Caraway started out with her trick or treating group, there were caretakers everywhere watching over the freshlings which was nice. It made Caraway feel safer. She walked along with the other freshlings, she fluttered her wings and walked up to the first house and said "Trick or treat." She said in a soft tone. Caraway didn't do things loudly. She waited and was given a candy apple. She nodded her thanks to the red and green imp who had given it to her. Then Caraway continued on with her freshling group. Watched over by the caretakers. This night had started off well.
Illusion was wearing a bat costume he had fabric covering his real wings to make them look like bat wings instead. He grinned and ran along with the other freshlings. He hurried to the first house and looked at the whacky litch dressed up as a fortune teller who gave him a cracked orb. Well ok then, it wasn't the worst thing in the world so he thanked them anyway, he wasn't sure he thought he might already have the same cracked orb in his collection from last year oh well.. Illusion ran off with his group to head to the next house.
Sugar Maple went along slowly with her group, she was dressed up as a pink flower. She was given a toothbrush at the first house, that was an odd thing to get for haunted hallows. She thanked the green chimera anyways and then she gave face to face with a large torti. "Umm hi." Sugar Maple said softly then she continued on with her group and the large torti followed Sugar Maple as she walked along with her group. It was pretty clear that the torti was going to follow her back to her dorm room. She just hoped it didn't try to eat her costume.
Miele definitely felt like her luck had already left when she was handed a creepy doll. It would have been cute... if it hadn't had such a hollow stare that seemed to follow you. She shivered, wondering if she could hide it somewhere and if it'd end up following her.
Blithe was skipping merrily to the next house, nibbling carefully on her candy when she reached the door and gave it a little knock. She jumped up happily when a bracelet was dropped into her bag.
Lei was a bit surprised when he received yet another wisp lantern. Maybe he'd give it to Zynas, he definitely didn't need two, even if they were cool looking.
Cleo had never attended the tradition of 'trick or treating' before. However, she was almost a junior now, the age where it suddenly became inappropriate to do so. On top of that, she had recently become more adventurous when it came to social interactions. Still, she was starting to believe this was a case of 'running before she could walk' as she hesitantly stepped off the Academy grounds in her gardener costume. Well, it wasn't really a costume, more like professional gardening wear that wouldn't typically be seen on a freshling. She believed this would be adequate as she approached her first house, knocking confidently on the door. When it opened, she froze. Wasn't there a chant she was supposed to intone here? She was saved by the woman at the door, who smiled down at her. "Oh, how delightful, a little gardener! I have just the thing for you..." The woman reached down and placed an odd looking turnip in Cleo's dirt sack that was serving as her candy bag. Before she could even respond, a man appeared behind the woman and shook his head. "Dear, you can't just give her that throw-away! Here, child," He said kindly, handing her a plush."'Nk you,"Cleo muttered, taking it gratefully and bowing her head in thanks before quickly fleeing the scene.
Connor was the queen of trick-or-treating, having never missed a year since she was old enough to slither around the neighbourhood. No one was more persistent in collecting candy than this freshling, and this year she'd gone above and beyond with her costume to really rake it in. She'd worked on it with her parents for weeks; a hand-crafted snail shell - delicately painted to look shockingly realistic - worn like a back-pack. Along with her tail smeared with body-paint and the antennae-eyes-headband, she'd wowed all the freshlings she'd shown her costume to at the Academy. Now she was prowling the neighbourhood with her small gang, ready to go to her first house. As soon as the click of the door opening was heard, she lead the group in a melodic -"Trick or treat!"She grinned in satisfaction as the adults who answered the door swooned over her costume, throwing in a handful of miscellaneous candy and handing Connor a small statute."Uh, thanks?"She responded as the door was closed. She stared at the little vespercat for a moment, freaking out a little when she saw the tail move. With a shrug she threw it in her bag with the rest of her haul, ready to continue the hunt.
As with all events, Zeerah had insisted his twin Xero come trick-or-treating with him. This was the first year his twin had begrudgingly agreed to actually come, and Zeerah had a feeling it was for some freaky experiment or something. It didn't bother him at all, it was just nice to do something with his brother. Still, it bothered him greatly that Xero had absolutely refused to wear a costume. Here Zeerah was in a disturbingly realistic skeleton body suit and skull face-paint he'd practiced for weeks, while his brother just stood in his usual attire. Still, he had to try. Ringing the first bell, he enthusiastically shouted,"Trick or treat!"Aww yes, here came the candy. The person who answered the door seemed to reach for a bowl on a table nearby, but as soon as they spotted the silent and not-dressed-up Xero, they frowned and hesitated. Instead, they reached into a jacket pocket and pulled out two tooth-brushes, quickly putting them into Zeerah's waiting bag before he could pull it away."Oi, what's this about-"He began, but the door had already closed. He turned to growl at his brother an 'I told you so' before realising that would do nothing. With a sigh he shrugged, taking on his stride once more as they went to the next house over."They'll get theirs, don't even worry bro,"He promised. Xero merely nodded lightly, following his brother like a shadow.
Essurio had been downright terrified to go tirck-or-treating. Sure, she was a hallowed, so this was her birth month, but she was so scared of interacting with anyone, let alone complete strangers to ask them for candy. Still, with uncharacteristic bravery, she'd signed up to be put with a group of other Academy freshlings to be escorted around the neighbourhood. She'd worked on her bat costume all by herself and was quite proud of her work - of course, it helped she already had the wings for it. She'd noticed that the freshlings in her group didn't avoid her as much as students usually did. Perhaps her mutations weren't seen as disturbing on Haunted Hallows? She still stood at the back of the group as they arrived to their first house."Trick or treat,"She chanted softly, her voice completely drowned out by the rest of the group. The candy was handed around, but the woman at the door seemed to look particularly nicely at Essurio. She heard her mumble something to her wife about 'mutants on hallows' and was given a rather unique prize - a small vespercat statute. The teacher thanked the couple as they closed the door, but Essurio was still staring at the statue in awe as the group began to move on. It was so pretty! And just for her! She'd gripped the statute close to her heart as she skipped away with the rest of the group, her spirits infinitely lifted.
Sabera had asked his fathers if he could attend trick-or-treating this year, somewhat shocking his family. The hybrid wanted to become more involved with civilisation, and what was more symbolic of society around this time of year than trick-or-treating? They'd agreed to let him go, but only if he signed up with a school group. This seemed reasonable, and something of a relief for the socially awkward freshling. He'd found it hard to think of a costume that accommodated his.. cosmopolitan appearance. He ended dressing up as a woodland dyrad - the occult kind, rather than the species. He didn't get nearly as many odd looks as he usually did for his assortment of hybrid traits, perhaps because people thought them part of the costume. He was glad if so; it grew tiresome to be stared at. Approaching the door, he was somewhat slower than the rest of the group at shouting,"Trick or treat?"Of course, he was new at it. He heard murmurs of disappointment from his group as a variety of toothbrushes, toothpaste and floss were handed around.'Must be the house of a dentist.'He concluded as the disgruntled group left the house, the teacher scolding them for not being more grateful.'What a practical gift.'
Karayas was twirling her candy bag not really paying attention to what she was doing. Of course that inattention caused her to miss following directions of where to go at the next house and because of it she missed out on her trick. Sighing to herself, she plopped down and awaited the group so they could move on to the next house.
Kalek was happy, walking around going trick or treating was alot of fun. He made some new familiar friends and this night just seemed to get better and better. He made his way to the next house on the block and approached, knocking on the door and a hand appeared holding a small bucket, it was shaken as if to tempt him to take from it.
Reaching in he grabbed the first thing he felt and out came a eraser! What a trick! He was hoping for candy. Giggling, he said Thank you and ran off.
SnowLily was wanting candy, it has been a while since she had gotten any. With the usual child like wishful thinking she followed her group up the rickety steps to the next house.
There was a Litch, dressed in a witch costume cackling and shaking a bowl shaped like a eyeball at the kids who was trick or treating. One of her group refused to step forward, the bowl scared them. Shrugging to herself, SnowLily stepped around them to reach into the bowl. She reached to far and as she grabbed a treat, to her surprise it was candy she fell. She did not care she had candy!
