He was aware that he was not alone as he stepped through into the portal to the dark Chaos on the other side. Denebola was there beside him, and her loyalty was as much admirable and appreciated as it was disheartening, because he could not ignore the guilt that gnawed at him. But Corvus had come as well and by extension, so had Altais; and in spite of the shame that ate away at Celsus, he felt an unspeakable gratitude towards them all.
There were golems in front of them, enormous youma. Celsus swallowed hard against the lump in his throat and stepped quietly around, gesturing for the others to follow him - but one of his hands slid out and grasped Denebola's wrist.
"You've already come this far with me," he said quietly, and his face was half shadowed, the dark circles under his eyes more pronounced than ever. Celsus gave her hand a squeeze in his own shaking one. "I..."
He didn't know what he was going to say - to her, or to Corvus, or to Altais, whom he didn't even know. Thank you? I don't want you to come any farther because of me? I couldn't bear it if any of you were injured because of me? All of the above?
He shook his head. Celsus swallowed back whatever he'd been about to say and let go, nodding down the incline where he could hear the distinct - and obvious - sounds of fighting down below. The whip fizzled into existence in Celsus's hand, and he gripped it tightly, drawing in a deep breath.
Then he headed down, around the golems and down towards the others, to where he could see Laurelite and Ganymede and Valhalla and dozens of others, youma and Negaverse and White Moon alike, all pushing and fighting until all he could see was flashes of colors and faces.
Caedus had been wrong. They hadn't succeeded.

Paris, Saturn Knight
Paris had made it to the outside of the academy quicker than he'd like to admit. Already, he felt guilt. He hadn't fought monsters, he hadn't save anyone or anything- he'd been useless. He had failed. A knight was supposed to fight and protect and save- and he'd done none of these things. He'd bee stupid near falling to his death, getting stuck with others, being useless in getting them free, and then abandoning them back in the crumbling castle.
Caedus had asked them to fight and Paris had wanted to help. To become a better knight. But that wasn't possible. He was too much a fool, too much a clumsy useless page to be of any use. In his pocket, he could feel the tiny marble the man had given him, and yet still, Paris looked at the portal and felt regret.
He'd failed Caedus, who said he could become great. He'd failed the other knights, who were so much better than him. He'd failed.
Running to the portal he stopped short before moving to the side, reaching into his pocket to pull out the marble he'd been given. "I'm sorry." He whispered to it. "You were wrong." He said. "I'm not important."
He squeeze the bauble, wishing he could have been better. "I'm sorry, I'm just a failure."
The Space Cauldron
You ******** up a perfectly good knight is what you did Caedus. Look at it, it has anxiety.
Standing nearby Laurelite, her hands raised above her head as she was about to call out for her Eternal level attack, it was his familiar voice she heard calling out to the General Queen first. Followed soon after, she heard exactly who she expected to in such a situation, and it complete and utterly infuriated her. Not because the two White Mooners were in what was essentially her home, the Negaverse's safe place. Not because they likely had some part in the blood that was spilled. Not even because they were challenging a General Queen.
It infuriated Cyllene because they could get killed down here in the Rift and there was likely very little that she could do about it. Well, at least not without her getting into buttloads of trouble. And that just wasn't fair, ok? She shouldn't have to pick sides!
Maybe no one will notice, the young Corrupt Senshi thought to herself, making the executive decision to stop this madness immediately. As she lowered her hands and stomped forward, her hands balled into fists at her side. It probably looked as if she was ready to attack either of the two of them in the name of the Negaverse, except...
"Are you CRAZY!?" She shrieked at Valhalla and Ganymede -- whom she hadn't even realized was wearing a very sparkly ballgown and definitely had giant wings -- "What are you doing?! You need to get out of here, like, right now!"
She quickly side-glanced at the wall of golem-like youma and the other, more feral youma stalking down towards them all. "Don't you see those enormous very hungry, angry youma that wouldn't think twice about EATING YOU!?"
Yep, she was definitely in the middle of a giant fight to the death between the two factions, chiding a Knight and a Princess instead of you know... Aiding the Negaverse.
Whoopsie.

Sailor Harmonia, Super Senshi of Harmony - Following after Ganymede
So much was happening at once. While plans were being laid down battles were raging around them, Laurelite was working her way through the ranks, Val and Gev were trying to draw the General Queens attention and Babylon was targeted by an officer. It was almost too much to keep up with and Harmonia was beginning to feel overwhelmed by it all.
"I am Harmonia." She offered to Ganymede when the woman referred to her as 'you'. Not that she expected anyone to remember her name, not in the heat of everything going on. Hell, she barely could keep track of anything let alone names. Still she glanced over at the Knight she now knew as Alex just as Ganymede began racing towards the two knights who were attempting to distract the General Queen.
All the people that she had been asked to find she didn't knew. So she wasn't helpful in that department at all. Sure she could just run around half blind as she tried to sense where people were at but there was so much fighting going on that she doubted she'd be able to gather anyone. What do I do? Should I go get people like the princess said or should I try and help her?
She glanced at Alex again, to her stash of starseeds which was now tucked under an arm, before making a split and probably rash decision. After all, her tailing Alex wouldn't be all that helpful. She wasn't very good a physical fighting and her magic was better off used on Ganymede. So turning on her heel she raced after the group that had moved towards Laurelite.
"I can help you!" She said over the sound of battle as she ran up to Ganymede. Eye's widening a bit as the princess tried to get the general queens attention. "I am not useful running around as a tag along finding people. I am not good at fighting, but I can boost your magic a bit myself."
And she prepared herself to do just that.
Some of you guys were on a spree today! I am just catching Harmonia up!

Birbite, Disposable Lieutenant
Birbite brandished his plastic parakeet toy like a dagger, but it was hardly intimidating before the large group of chibi senshi. Still, narrowing his eyes, he had no intention of letting them escape upon the orders of Laurelite. However, hearing what fellow members' rankings they had taken down sent a shiver up his spine, but also encouraged determination. That just meant he would not be someone to fall to them.
"Give it up!" he cried. "My lady commanded for you not to pass... So you shall not pass!"

Labradorite - free for interactions
Labradorite had been somewhere in the original battle though where it was difficult to say. Now though she stood there with her poster looking at the crowd of Senshi. Her nose wrinkled a little as she stood there, it wasn't her usual place to fight a battle, it wasn't her usual place at all. Not to mention she only held a poster, paper cuts were sooooo effective right now she could feel it. Though as much as she wanted to protest she'd go find some small something or other to pick off. Maybe it'd be interesting, fun? She wasn't sure though the lieutenant charged with the rest of them. Hoping she wouldn't regret this, hoping very highly she wouldn't regret this at all.

Corrupt Super Sailor Victoria
Victoria had come because there was a strange calling, perhaps a summons to arms. He still hadn't completely gotten his barings all in order and was still a little well sheepish. But he followed into the fray and well did pretty much what he was told. He wasn't much use in the magical department unless he could find some senshi to aid. Which was a little annoying because he couldn't see one of their own at the moment.
He was passing a General (Tweedledumite) and a Senshi (Metis) who made him pause for a second and look at her funny, like he had a weird sense of deja vu but couldn't place it. Shaking his head he chuckled a little, was she really trying to tell the General to go back to his brother? There was something ironic about that statement. "Shouldn't they be the ones going somewhere?" He asked looking at the General a little amused, the Russian accent was still prevalent, something that metis might recognize from the last time she'd seen Victoria.
Banananite didn't quite know what to do when confronted by a group of... well, for all intents and purposes, children. They even said so, trying to pull on his heartstrings and get him to not hurt them. Banananite really didn't want to hurt a bunch of kids, truth be told, and the emotional manipulation was just sprinkling of powdered sugar on the nope cake of the day.
But, he'd already resolved to actually do something in this fight. Banananite couldn't be shaken at this point, as his trap was already laid and his cards were on all the tables. He breathed in a shudder, crossing his arms defiantly. "L-l-ook here, tater tots, Laurelite has commanded your d-d-dooms, a-and we're not gonna get b-b-b-beaten by a bunch of pint sized ja-janitors!" Banananite tried to sound as badass as he wanted to feel, but the stuttering really didn't help.
He shifted down into a sloppy fighting stance, fists poorly formed and knees knocking. They were just kids - why be scared? Just because other agents all around him were being pounded on, just because youma after youma was being dusted, didn't mean death was going to visit Banananite today.
He gave Birbite a nod, and waited for the tykes to start attacking.

Eternal Athene -- with Mauvian Liryn, Alcor, Eleonora and Gorner
Athene had borrowed the two bronze stars that dangled from the tails of Liryn's very long outer jacket and had combined them with the sashes that he wore around his waist, knotting the fabric around the stars, before handing one off to Eleonora.
"For the youma" he explained as he handed the second, one that he'd combined with the paler jade inner sash back to Liryn.
As a makeshift weapon it wasn't much, however the dangling stars looked relatively heavy and was a lot better than nothing.
Athene was very, very, very conscious that his small group consisted of himself, Liryn and two senshi.
He was also very, very aware that when it came down to speed and strength that he was perhaps the strongest of the group - especially when he heard the General Queen order their deaths in a clear, calm voice that managed to ring out despite the numbers of those gathered.
He missed Tsui's bold fierceness and Ida's gentle but strong presence - wishing more than ever that his two friends and team mates were here - that they were by his side.
The odds would have seemed so much better that way, even if they really weren't - because things had always seemed better when the three of them - well four plus Liryn - fought as a team.
I'm not sure if I can do this alone.
Because truth be told he was terrified - especially given the fact that that the General Queen had just cut through four senshi like they were paper.
And then he thought of his earlier promise to himself when the four of them had first entered this place - his promise to get the others out should things go pear-shaped and forced himself to stiffen his spine.
Because when it came down to it, things couldn't really get more pear-shaped than this and that meant..
That meant he had a promise to keep.
Of course he wasn't expecting Alcor to suddenly go darting into the fray, although a sudden youma had lumbered into their path as a clawed hand reached out to try and rake at Eleonora.
He had gotten there first, wincing as the claws shredded fabric to rake at his arm in a white hot flash of pain and blood darkened the fabric of his sleeves.
He tried to kick out at the thing and heard it screech as the sound of something clunked into it.
Liryn or Eleonora maybe he thought as he took the opportunity of the youma's recoil to ball up a fist and drive it into the monster's face.
Alcor had rejoined them by the time that the youma had been dealt with, with a red-haired Page in tow.
Gorner he remembered as he mentally added her to the list of people who he had to look out for - to the list of people he had to get out.
He managed a small smile as he heard Liryn cheerfully greet the Page, adding his voice to the cat human mauvian as he said quietly "Hi Gorner, I wish we were meeting under better circumstances" even as Liryn swung his makeshift 'weapon' to clunk another youma in the face.
"We need to make for the portal" he said as he started to walk. "And keep together" because if they got separated then they would probably have no chance.
"And if the blue-haired woman with the scythe comes your way then all of you just run" and he included Liryn in his glance "And I'll hold her off" and somehow the words managed to come out with a confidence that he didn't feel.
Whatever the cost he reminded himself as he walked forward and further into the fray. Whatever it takes.
Knight Niflhel - with Snowball - joining Athene, Liryn, Alcor, Eleonora and Gorner
Niflhel had gotten lost at some point but he was now back in the fray, inncidently having caught up with Athene and the whole group there. Snowball too was with him. It was really as if on cue when the other said I'll hold her off "Not without me." The knight of Saturn said with his arms crossed looking seriously at Athene. "Sorry we took a wrong turn at Albuquerque; got a little lost." He admitted as he looked at the mess that was happening around them. "But like hell I'm going to let you fight her alone."
Niflhel also pulled out a small crystal, that looked much like the ones Polaris wore and called his Cerberus summons. Who snarled at any youma who came near them, any one of three heads deciding to take a chunk out of a youma who dared to come close to it.
Snowball sighed as he looked at both of them, Niflhel and Athene, "Polaris wouldn't agree to any of this. . . " He started and shook his head, his tail puffed a little at the Cerberus, this obviously wasn't Merlin the dog, this was something a little more serious to deal with. "Anyhow, I think if Liryn's up for it, me and him will make sure everyone else gets out?" He offered. Perhaps that would ease Athene's worries some, "Then obviously I'm coming back for you two if I can make it."

Sailor Halley, Senshi of Superstition - is free for interaction Halley stood barefooted looking at the massive amount of youma and nageverse agents and she looked timid and admittedly a little scared. The senshi had never faced anything this large scale before and frankly she didn't know what to do so she stood there a looking like a deer in headlights trying to figure out if she wanted to run with the starseeds or hope she could find someone to hide behind, which was highly, highly unlikely.

Eternal Sailor Hugbell, Senshi of Comfort - is open for interactions
Hugbell had somehow found herself here in the fray, after getting a little lost, she was looking to see if she could figure out what was going on and why they were stuck in his hell hole. The portal, it would probably be impossible to reach with the sheer amount of Negaverse agents here. The only option the senshi had was to see if she could help out anyway, using Barnaby and giving an energy boost to those who needed it. This was a total mess. "Ugh, how did we end up like this?" She frowned, "We need help." She told the bear who she'd sat on her shoulder hoping that for now he'd stay put as she did her best to dodge what she could and fight anything else.

Page Odainsaker of Cosmos is open for interactions
Odainsaker hadn't expected to end up here of all places with her stupid choice of going into the portal. Why did she go into the portal!? "Ugh this is stupidest choice even as a larper that I've made." She muttered as she looked at the throngs of youma and the massive amounts of negaverse agents. What sucked worse? Was the fact she didn't have anything but a tiny pointy, arrow that had a star for a tip. . . . yup she could totally poke out eyes. Maybe take out a baby youma. . . . if that was a thing.

Chibi Oort -- Chibi group (with Perdita, Oberon, Tomlin, Chara, Ambrosia, Cadmus and Iduna) facing off against Disposable Banananite and Disposable Birbite
"I'm sorry" Oort said quietly to Tomlin, because it had sounded like they had hurt the ginger star cat's feelings. "I.. I think that the laser thing is awesome, but when Horatio did it she got all pooped out after and I didn't want that to happen to you."
Another two senshi had joined them as they continued to move, the blue-haired girl (Iduna) looking vaguely familiar although Oort couldn't quite place from where.
There wasn't any time to puzzle over it either really - not with more monsters coming and Oort once again tried to kick out at one with sandalled feet whilst wishing that he had something better.
And then there was something other than monsters blocking their way as Oberon moved to stand in front of them and was followed by Perditaand thenChara.
One of the Nega-people (Banananite) was talking about a Laurelite person who had apparently commanded their doom and the other with some sort of stupid toy bird (Birbite) was spouting off something about them not passing... But out of them and Perdita he rather thought that Perdita was more scary.
He eyed the toy bird man with reddish eyes that were serious as he said "You should move Mister" and his words were for both of them because the Nega-people had obviously not seen Perdita's broom-wielding.
Although Oort was willing to do his part to the best of his one-handed ability - be it via punch or a kick to the shins.
Sailor Alcor // Senshi of Cold With Athene, Niflhel, Snowball, Eleonora, Gorner Sailor Eleonora // Senshi of Heat
Eleonora let out a bit of a bitter laugh as she took another swing at a flying youma with the five pointed star. It was almost insulting as the trio talked about her and her family as if they weren’t standing right there listening. “Fat. Chance. she commented pointedly as she leaned over to pick up a fist sized rock to lob at a charging youma.
“We leave together or we fight together. There’s no sending us through while either of you stay behind. Don’t act like your live is worth somehow less than everyone else's in a valiant…” She grunted when another youma brushed against her shoulder with the back side of its foot causing her to stumble forward. “In some valiant crusade.” She finished while pushing herself up off the ground mostly unfazed though her arm felt a little numb from the unexpected hit.
While her desire to get the hell out of the Rift was great, Alcor had to agree with what her sister said. Up till now they had stuck together, protected one another, and proved on more than one occasion the lengths they were willing to go to make sure each and every one of them made it out alive. But enough was enough, “I’m sorry we’re not strong enough to amount to much but we came in here knowing that something like this was likely to happen. Athene… either way we’re a team now. You can’t expect us to run when things get tough.”
Placing a hand on her sisters shoulder Alcor gave Eleonora a firm look “We’ll do our best to stay out of your way,” she then glanced over at Gorner for confirmation that she heard over the screeching cries of youma taking hits from all different directions when the group ahead of them made a mad dash after the summoned bull. “But please don’t think you’re doing us any favors by not coming through that portal with us. We’re not about to lose a friend, not here… not now… not anyone.”

Falias, Squire of Earth -- Team Protect the Code (with Kairatos, Varuna, Palatine, Themiscyra and Andronicus)
Falias nodded having heard the General Queen give the order to take down Kairatos' summon.
"I'm probably best sticking with the hit hard part" he admitted as he heard the woman move on to order their deaths in a calm voice before moving to demonstrate - by cutting down four senshi.
"You're going to need someone a lot faster than me" because whilst he was healthy enough - at least when he wasn't making suicide runs - he also knew that he was no sprinter.
The pink clad Squire (Palantine) had moved to offer however and the Super Senshi (Varuna) had moved to back up Kairatos's summon and whilst his wand was not going to be much good Falias at least had his hands.
And then it seemed that their group had grown again, the newcomer another Squire (Andronicus) and one who was apparently a sprinter.
He kicked out grimly at a youma that moved too close knowing that he had to hit as hard as he could and felt a sense of grim satisfaction as thought he heard the beast yelp.
They had to keep moving forward.
Moving forward - because they had a lot to get past if they were going to reach that portal.
She had made a promise, she had toldCelsus that she wasn't going anywhere and she intended on being a woman of her word. "Cels--" his name died on her tongue when she caught sight of the youma that lined the path ahead of them. "Oh no," her voice dropped into a soft whisper and her fingers curled into fists that only tightened when she became aware of the two stumbling from the portal behind her.
Corvus, of course she came. Her partner wouldn't leave her on her own.
And Altais, who's arrival set her heart beating erratically. She had known that it was likely that he would follow, because he always followed and her stomach twisted at the idea that the three people she cared the most about where in the throngs of danger with her. She couldn't protect all of them and fear tried to grip at her heart.
Her resolve was strong - strengthened when Celsus grabbed her wrist. She looked down at where he had touched her, staring at their hands in surprise before she looked up at him, smiling softly. "I'm not going anywhere, okay?" Someone needed to stand by him.
Besides, she'd made him a promise and Denebola always kept her promises.
She looked at him earnestly but the words died on his tongue and he was heading off toward the battle, weapon materializing in his hand. She looked back at Corvus, Altais and offered them an apologetic smile. "Sorry. I didn't -- " she sighed, pushed her bangs out of her face and straightened her spine. They could deal with it later, for now they had to deal with the problem at hand.
"Let's get going, if those youma are anything to be concerned about, so is what's on the other side of them." If she was panicked, she tried not to let it show. Then she set off after the knight.

Newgrange, Squire of Earth
Newgrange looked between the two Captains, and beyond backing up to avoid Jet's reach, he made no further effort either to disappear or attack. He did manage to cast a wary glance between the two. He didn't know anything about torture—and he certainly hadn't been involved in anything of the sort—and it was fairly obvious that the accusation brought only confusion to him.
"Counter-offer," he said to the blonde Captain, Aquamarine. He gestured to Jet. "Your friend doesn't look like he's in any condition to be fighting. So while I can understand you're just following orders, I really suggest you get him out of here before any permanent damage is done. I don't know what happened to him, but if you try that again," he looked at Jet's weapon quickly before returning his eyes to their faces, "You aren't really giving me any option but to defend myself. So, you go your way, I go my way, we all leave in one peace. Because—honestly—I'd rather not be here anyway. I'm happy to get out of your hair, if you'd just kindly move aside. Please."
It was an earnest request, but he was already prepared for the worst. The Negaverse wasn't very reasonable.
…At the very least, he could hope to buy himself a little time to try and come up with a plan.
Not that there was really much you could do when your enemies had weapons and you had…gloves.
Ambrosia -- Chibi group (with Perdita, Oberon, Tomlin, Chara, Ambrosia, Cadmus and Iduna) facing off against Disposable Banananite and Disposable Birbite
Ambrosia felt really good about beating the youma. But her group was found by two agents, who decided that numbers weren't important. Perdita and Oberon were standing in front, protecting the rest of them from the two. Ambrosia felt silly staying behind the line, especially considering one of the bad guys looked like he was about to break apart.
"C'mon, get out of the way!" She shouted. "Or we'll make you!"
