As Stormy and Gale acted, so did Charlotte, summoning a weapon that resembled a tuning fork more than anything offensive, almost delicate looking. It slammed both of them backwards with surprising force. "I wouldn't if I were you, it's not nice to break negotiations like that, you could really learn a thing or two about diplomacy."

"Mimsy," Charlotte turned to the girl and she smiled in the most adorable way possible, dimples and all, "How did it feel to get beaten so easily? You think you've got all the Hunters pegged down and when it comes to a small trial just to prove yourself, the only thing you've proved is staying at Deus has made you bottom fodder tier. I'm afraid you've gone quite backwards, dear."

"And of course Shiloh and Lucky, we can't forget about the notorious two. One clearly chosen to reap in the benefits and rewards of another's misfortune. Not everyone can be chosen after all, some people are just luckier, you could say."

She put a finger to her cheek. "Gale. Gale, the teacher's pet. I want to like you, but I just feel sorry for you. They take everything from you, and still you give, give, give. And nobody ever notices how hard you work, you just get used, hope everything works out, and get used again. There's always a next time, a pity you wont ever get to experience anything else."

As Charlotte moved forward, so did part of the group, but she simply held out a hand. "That will be all today. I'm sure they have a lot to think about. Let the others know I said hi, I'll be sure to find you. Oh, and tell Sam-" she suddenly stopped, and her smile grew a little wider as her tuning fork struck the ground, everything ringing and shaking. The crystal was taken, quickly, easily, and they moved out just as fast.

Cute did nothing but disgust Mimsy, who found it to be such a horrendously simple tactic, best used on the weak. And she was absolutely not anything of the sort, in spite of Charlotte's assertions. There was an escalating thrumming in her ears, drowning out the sound of Svensyl, and she began to imagine clawing the dimples off with her bare hands, tearing through the smile with her fingernails. Then it wouldn't feel so easy, would it?

She just kept talking and talking and talking, with words that sounded distant and lost, until she took the fragment that felt like power and left a tremor in her wake.

"No," she spat, summoning her weapon just to stab it into the closest surface. It didn't help her feel better. She wasn't sure why she thought it would.

"You had to skew the results of your trial against me!" The retreating party probably couldn't hear the words she was shouting after them, but this was managing to improve her mood where the stabbing failed to, albeit marginally. "If you were not guilty of bad science, you would have overwhelming evidence of my capabilities. You were afraid, because you knew that I could--"

Her furious eyes flashed towards the others. She clenched her teeth and unclenched her fists as she took a deep breath, opting to keep the remainder to herself.
