"Great!" Y'or grinned and shoved his unruly hair out of his face. "Want I should cut it down for you, or d'you want to do that for yourself? If you give me your fella's measurements I can have it done by tomorrow afternoon for you, or you're welcome to take it now and do it yourself."

V'lay - T'ni's Stall 4 3/4 marks
"Not too much," T'ni replied with a little shake of her head. "It would do fine indoors so long as it gets six or so hours of sun a day. I've been keeping it in my weyr on a south-facing windowsill, it doesn't even need to face north to get full sun. Oooh! But the fire flower bush, that's one of my favourites."
Beaming again the young rider drifted over to the shrub and brushed her hand lightly over the foliage, sending a waft of its beautiful spicy scent into the air. "The spicy smell is actually in the leaves, not in the flowers. They have a subtle sweet smell of their own but you have to get close to notice. They're hardy plants, fire flowers, you can just about put them out and leave them and they flower twice a turn. When I prune these I keep the leaves and crush them to extract the oil, you can add it to whatever you use to grease your flight harness, makes it smell lovely! And of course because the spicy scent is in the leaves you get that year round."

Ring toss
"Here you are then love, have your pick of these." The stall keeper lifted down the three darkest brown green-eyed flitt toys he had. "The parasols are twelve points each," he continued, "my brother's just started making them and I'm helping him test the market! They're a fine prize, and I can say that freely because I didn't make them. See, look here." The big man lifted down the creamy one and demonstrated how it folded up and then opened back out again. "Right clever with things like this, my brother," he said with a touch of almost paternal pride as he hung the parasol back in place.

C'tis - leaving ring toss
She'd got one of the wooden dragons?... Hu, well, whatever she fancied. "There's a lot of me to feed you know," he retorted, elbowing back. "And I might play for my girlfriend, if she stops being an arse for two seconds together." C'tis grinned as he spoke, obviously not serious about that. He liked it when she was n arse. "Where are we going next then?" he went on, tossing one of the bags of sweets to Rochelle and opening the other for himself. "Clothes, was it?"
Bereck - Near the stalls
Public displays of affection were indeed not his cup of klah but he was prepared to make an exception today. Besides, it had only been a chaste kiss. "I thought the ribbon added something," he replied, still smiling slightly. "I'm glad you like it." Really it was a very silly purchase, the flower would wither up soon enough. Humm, maybe they could dry it? It was still frivolous... but it had made her happy.

"Great!" Y'or grinned and shoved his unruly hair out of his face. "Want I should cut it down for you, or d'you want to do that for yourself? If you give me your fella's measurements I can have it done by tomorrow afternoon for you, or you're welcome to take it now and do it yourself."
Adi - Y'or's Stall
"Could you cut it, please? I wouldn't wanna mess it up," Adi said with a little giggle. It would be safer to let Y'or do it! Fortunately, she did at least remember Mazamath's measurements, so that wouldn't be a problem. "I can write 'em down for you, if you have something to write on?"
"This one, please." Tanya reached out and lifted the far left toy. It didn't have much of a mottled pattern to it, but it did seem like it was faintly darker in some spots near its back. It was perfect and Tanya smiled as she pulled it closer and set it beside her. She redirected her attention as the stallkeeper took down one of the inquired-of parasols
Tanya admired the parasol as the stallkeeper displayed it and spoke of it with pride. "It is beautiful." And the cream parasol, with its lace edging, had been the exact one to catch her attention as well. It was so... fancy. Something she imagined a well-off Crafter's wife or even a Lady Holder might have.
She dug into her purse and brought out a half-mark, holding out to the stallkeeper. Her decision was made, and M'lan was not going to pay for this round. "One more try, so change for that please."
She accepted the three rings while the stallkeeper made change. She just needed 2 points to earn the parasol, since M'lan had given her his points. If she got more than that, though, she could repay him at least some of his points and he could get something as well.
With a serious face and determined focus, Tanya tried for the same 2-point bottle she had gotten last time and succeeded in dropping the ring around its neck. A smile pulled at her lips; she was so used to the expression she didn't even notice anymore when she was wearing it. That was the 12 points she needed for the parasol, and she still had 2 more throws!
The subsequent throws each yielded 4 point bottles. It was even more than her first throws had netted her!
"Look, M'lan, 10 points! The cream parasol, please!" It was essential she get to the stallkeeper before someone else got to the prize she had her eye on.
Tanya grinned broadly at M'lan while the stallkeeper retrieved the parasol and lifted her firelizard doll to hug with one arm. "And I even earned an extra 8 points, so you can get something, too. You let me have your points, so now I'm giving you some of mine."
Kindra managed to keep the polite facade up. She smiled almost warmly at Idris "You are welcome and yes... a respite would be good" she agreed, then when the woman turned to other business she turned her attention to N'mol "At this rate her whole wing will be atypicals...." she muttered, too lo for anyone else besides N'mol to hear her over the babble at the gather. Well damn, Riarna was busy with another customer (Kindra hoped that said customer wasn't interested in the dress) so instead she leaned into N'mol a little, enjoying his closeness "I was, it's a pretty green and with some accessories and embroidery it would look impressive" she looked over at the sashes being sold by the other Weaver "One of those might look nice around the waist" she said, loud enough for Riarna to hear her, an almost polite reminder that she was STILL interested in buying. "Can never had enough dresses, mother always said that" she smiled at N'mol while she waited for Riarna to deal with her current customer.
He wasn't upset at all, he'd wanted Tanya to be able to choose what she wanted, sure, he'd have liked to have seen her grab the best on the lot but if she wanted the linen one then that was just fine, as long as she liked it. "I don't mind at all, whatever you like Tanya" he grinned. When she asked the stallholder about the parasols M'lan gleed. He knew she'd look LOVELY with one, He didn't begrudge her spending her own marks this time, since she didn't give him much of a chance to argue but he didn't mind.
He frowned at the stallholder's banter though, despite there being no harm in it, he was just bragging about his brother's work was all and as long as Tanya was happy, that was all that mattered. He just wished he'd been able to ge her the REAL firelizard egg. Perhaps if Mal had eggs and didn't leave them to get addled, he'd save one specifically for her.
He whooped when she scored a hit with each ring "Awesome" he said, loudly, Asoth echoing his sentiment to Tanya directly, Asoth liked talking to Tanya. "nonono .. it's ok Tanya, spend them on your, get something else" he laughed, he didn't need anything to be happy right now, He was elated that Tanya had gotten what she wanted.

Tanya - Ring Toss 1 3/4 Marks
His laughter was infectious, and Tanya turned back to the prizes without any lingering doubts. Her eyes swept over them-- a good selection, and many of them beautiful in their own ways-- and her hand clenched reflexively on the soft, stuffed toy.
"I'll take a pair of the painted terracotta cups." Some of the wooden items, like the lovely little box or the comb, had been enticing, but the cups would come in handy later if she and M'lan had dinner (which she knew they would). Also, if they had more picnics like the first, Tanya could bring the cups along then as well. "And a bag of the sweets for the last two points." It had been a very fruitful game! She liked this ring toss, especially since she hadn't known how coordinated she was.
"And those we can share," Tanya commented to M'lan, looking the long distance up to him.
Wen paused, in passing a other quarter mark over, might as well spend a full mark and looked over the jars. "I could remark on various things about that statement." He said finally, looking back to the objective and tossing the rings a tad fast. "That one, the shop keep didn't seem to concern about them spoiling and two, why would you buy something you were concern about spoiling right at the beginning?"
He finished and gave a pleased sound. "More then enough but 'Cai, which of those flits do you think looks the most like Miath?" He asked, as he looked over the blacks to find the closest replica to Rynsemth.
M'lan: Moving to the high striker game (and playing because RAWR) (Powerful Build 5d4+2)
Score - 12!
M'lan spotted another game, sporting yet another firelizard egg as a prize and once Tanya had chosen her prizes, (which he approved of, even the sweets) He practically dragged her over, though he knew she came willingly enough. Now THIS was a game built for someone like him, a test of strength!.. He'd win her that firelizard egg for sure this time. Despite the fact he knew she was already happy enough with the things she'd won. The pretty cream parasol would look lovely if she took it along to another picnic.
He moved to the owner of the game, handing over his marks once he'd been told how much it was to give it a try then he swung the hammer with all his might... but it wasn't enough... he wasn't even CLOSE to the marked high score. He swore to himself under his breath.
J'nes - PC Weaver's stall 5 Marks (54 from rank, 1 from threadfall pearls)
J'nes chuckled at the price of the silks. "Beautiful as they are, that's too much for me to afford if I'm to get something practical," he said, giving the silks the barest glance to indicate which he meant. Then he turned his attention back to the linens, fingering them thoughtfully. Hmm, the gray was certainly the softest, but he did like clothes with a bit more color to them. He could always trim it with brighter scraps, he supposed, but the green was a very nice shade already. Could he perhaps get both? He could always find a use for good cloth...No, best to stick with one for now, that would be enough for the next round of clothes.
After a moment's more consideration he said, "I'll take the gray, then," and fished out a 2-mark piece to offer her.

T'lon: T'lon's stall 3 Marks
T'lon had almost finished playing The Firelizard Song and was starting to fall into the familiar comfort of playing off on his own somewhere, already considering which song to play next. He was a bit surprised when someone came over and asked him about his firelizards, and his fingers slipped slightly on the guitar and made the next chord sound a bit off. Embarrassed, he corrected his fingering, ducked his head and mumbled, "It's OK."
Mine, she asked you a question, Poth reminded him. She turned her head slightly, the better to see the woman who'd come to see Hers.
Right, a question, about whether you can teach firelizards to sing. He wished he could have Poth bespeak her so he didn't have to deal with the discomfort of using his own voice, but that wasn't proper. He wished he'd thought to bring a flask of water or something, though that wouldn't help much. As he strummed the last chords of the song, he picked up his head and cleared his throat.
"Sure." he said in a quiet voice, his voice rasping as if caught in the grip of a nasty cold. "Some don't need teaching at all, they just copy. Here." He rested the guitar on his knees and pulled out his panpipes. He whistled the signal for "repeat" to his flits, then played a quick set of scales. As he put the flute down, both flits repeated the scales, though not quite together.
T'lon frowned. They could do better than that. He used one hand to tap a rhythm on the edge of his guitar, then played the scale on his pipes again, being sure to follow the beat he was drumming. This time the flits followed the beat as well and sang the scale in unison. This earned the pair a whistle of "well done" and a scratch on their heads.
Riarna - PC Weavers' Stall Earned This Gather: 1 3/4 m.
Riarna accepted the two-mark piece and with efficient movements produced J'nes's quarter-mark of change. With that done, she pulled out a roll of basic, rough linen and laid the bolt of cloth within it, efficiently wrapping the bolt for storage or carrying through the Gather, in the event her customer was going to continue shopping. A bit of twine made sure the package was tightly bound and she handed the bolt of cloth to him.
"Thank you for your patronage, rider, and good luck with your endeavors." She smiled at him and also at his delightfully quiet baby. "If you need cloth in the future, don't hesitate to return. I'm stationed at the Weyr. If you inquire at the Weaver Hall here for Riarna, someone should be able to fetch me."

J'nes - leaving PC Weaver's stall 3 1/4 Marks (2 1/4 rank, 1 pearls)
J'nes appreciated that she'd wrapped up the linen in a spare cloth to protect it. The fabric did clean well, but it would be a shame to have to wash it off before he even had a chance to use it. "Thank you, I will remember that," he said as he accepted the package and tucked it under one arm, though it was a bit awkward and bulky to carry for long. He might need to head back to his weyr and drop it off. "And I hope you have a pleasant Gather." He perused the rest of the wares at both ends of the table, admiring the styles and colors of the good on display. There was nothing else he saw that he couldn't make for himself. So he hitched the bolt of fabric under his arm again and headed off. The baby was starting to stir and fuss a bit, perhaps he ought to go off on the outskirts where it was quieter and let the little guy calm down.
He listened attentively as T'ni detailed the care of both the tree and the bush, and frowned thoughtfully. There were benefits to both, he thought, but ideally...well, he didn't want to pass up the miniature tree in particular. But maybe...
"How much for both?" he asked curiously. "I'm a bit of a collector, and I'm not sure I could pass up either of these in good conscience. The one thing I'll say about Trine - I'm a Bendenite, originally - is that the weather's perfect for exotics. No more greenhouses." That was a wonderful thing. V'lay had been quite adept at creating makeshift frames in his time, but Trine's warmer weather was a true boon.

"Sure, sure!" Y'or produced a slate and a stick of chalk, passing them across to Adi. "Ours will be the most fashionable, most comfortable dragons in the Weyr," he said with a grin and conspiratorial wink.

No worries! =D
"Can't say fairer than that," the stallholder said with a little smile, lifting the cream parasol down again and passing it over almost reverentially to Tanya. "There's a little card pinned inside with how you can contact him if any of your friends fancy one of their own. And here, I've a few sets of cups for you to pick from so take whichever you like best."
Revel1984
As the generous rider departed the stallholder inclined his head slightly in acknowledgement.

T'ni laughed and shook her head. "I can't imagine! And it gets nearly as cold as between there in the winter, I hear! Not my cup of tea, not at all! The bush is two, and the tree is three marks. If you buy the tree I can sell you a little kit to care for it and a more extensive guide than comes in the price too."

Siata - NPC Leatherworker Argo 5marks
She'd been released for half a candlemark with strict instructions to head back to the Healers tent should the numbweed wear off or once that half a candlemark was up. One would send a firelizard after her or... something. Siata was not too sure save for that she'd been released from the infirmary long enough to join in the main bit of the Gather. Under her ridiculously loose shirt, she'd been bandaged to between and back - a lightly perfumed shirt, mind, to hide the numbweed smell. And she had her left arm in a sling to help keep the strain off of her shoulder. Brilliant. But her legs worked, bruises faded since the rescue, and someone had tucked her hair under a bit of cloth so her bangs wouldn't flop about her eyes.
Siask stayed as near to the Gather as he could. It turned out that was not very close at all. Siata paid her paranoid wher no mind, stepping carefully through the stalls. The leathercrafter stall caught her eye, the wherhandler veering towards it. Her eyes narrowed in on the male leather vest. Siata reached out with her good hand, fingers stroking over the smooth leather.
"Sir?" She said, looking up to find the stall owner. "How much is this?"

Rochelle - NPC Weavercrafter Stall 4.5marks
"I'll do my best. Don't count on it too much, boyfriend." C'tis seemed to like the word, the declaration. That suited Rochelle just fine. She hooked the black pouch and it's items to her belt, opening her own bag of sweets. "Yeah, clothes. Most of mine are sitting at the tailors and I've not had anything new in - shards. A turn? Something like that." She grinned anyway, bumped his shoulder, and started off towards the weavercraft stall.
Oh, hello sensible and pretty shirts! Rochelle eyed the womens linen shirts, head cocked to the side. "Look, C'tis, now you get to help me pick out clothes. The cream? I could get a black pair of trousers with it..." Look what the poor man had been reduced to.

Alina - near stalls? 8 marks
"We'll press it later. We can use the ribbon for something around our weyr," Alina nodded firmly. With that settled, she leaned just far enough away to look him in the eye. "Oh - speaking of nice things, would you be interested in looking at the vintners table? We won't have to depend on the kindness of neighbors when we feel like celebrating. Whispers through my coworkers is that they have some rather good kinds."
Her eyes trailed past his to linger on riarnas stall, hesitating when she saw a flash of green. "...Would you be too upset if I wanted to get something utterly silly first?l
