"Whoa what the.." The portrait glowed in the dark!
...The portrait moved.
When the lights turned back on Heidi noticed Mimsy was missing almost immediately, having been standing beside the smarter girl.
"...Uh..where..." Mimsy was gone? "What..just happened?"
The portrait moved and now Mimsy was gone.
Heidi took a step back away from the artwork.

"....holy s**t where did she just go." Ofelia had been close to the person, everyone had, and now there was a lack of girl who liked to use big words.
The redhead looked around, looked at the painting.
Suddenly Ofelia's "this is a trap" theory didn't sound so bad.

After the lights came back on, Smith stared at the empty space for a moment, before looking around to see if anyone else had gone missing while the others were left in the dark. When it seemed that only one had vanished, he spoke.
"Did they just Scooby-Doo us? What the hell was that?"

"No. Definitely." Did she just make a joke at her own names expense? Maybe. And then the lights went out, which would reveal Maebe's only true fear, because when they came back on she had jumped up into the air and clung to Jude like a frightened cat. She hardly noticed they were missing one person, because she was shaking like a leaf, and hidden in as tiny of a ball as possible. Yes, she definitely felt coming here had been a mistake. All of her sarcastic comments and apathy had been exposed for the lie they were when she clawed her way into this almost strangers arms and tried to wish herself away.

The room began to shake a little now for all the Hunters present, and the floor slowly peel away. It was crumbling underneath them, and below them an infinite chasm of black spires, facing upwards, almost tower-like in shape. A fog begin to seep into the room, strange and unusual, looking at it directly made it form faces, of those dead, of those who had not died, of those who began to talk and whisper and accuse -

- Mimsy was however, having afternoon tea. It was a pretty nice table, and the setup was good. There were tarts (grey), and also cake (grey) and even cookies (grey) shaped in little hearts with chocolate chips (grey) inside them. It was a small table, and there was only two of them: Mimsy and *
"Oh!" * looked surprised. "I wasn't expecting guests so this was all I could make. It is okay, right?" They looked concerned.
Without waiting * leaned over, generously adding heaps of cookies, tarts, cakes, tiny little pastries all meticulously grey and fog-like all onto Mimsy's plate. They began to dissipate, slowly. "I have so much planned for us, it's been a while! After we eat maybe we can go out and play for a bit, and then go shopping, and, oh wait, I shouldn't go shopping, my hair-"
* fussed with it for a bit. A hairclip (grey) fell out, and then a second and third.
-"Maybe not now then." They looked disappointed, as much as a grey shadow-like figure could be. "Well here, at least take this with you."
It was a cake. Wait it was a-

- Shouting. The room was normal again, and Mimsy was there was well. It seemed someone had finally opened the doors, revealing the security guard, a couple of Hunters, unfamiliar faces, perhaps though it was hard once again to tell without the coats, and a lot of questionable staring.
"We'll catch up later," said one of the Probably Hunters. "The gallery is opening up for pre-show so everyone has been asked to leave." If they were going to say something else, they were probably going to do it later as they escorted all the current Hunters inside and closed the doors behind them. OOC MYSTERY SOLVED! All Hunters are free to wander around in the CASINO or in the CABINS until the next phase (in about ETA 30 minutes actually) For MAXING OUT on all your searching around (in bold red, that's 5 turns of it), take a bonus +2 RP points! nothing yet Congrats on the mystery artifact. It DOES look like a cake doesn't it....? This item is unable to manifest until in battle, and will only occur randomly (see effect below). Otherwise, it never takes shape or form, but occasionally whispers quietly about cooking.

Jude uttered a short yelp of surprise when Maebe was pretty much upon him. His arms just automatically moved to support her so that they both didn't just collapse into a giant embarrassing heap.
"Uhhh.." There was just so much his brain could handle right then. A strange girl in his arms was one of those things that just made him short circuit for a few seconds and brought out the awkward in him. Jude raised an eyebrow, "...You'll be alright," he assured her with a small finger wiggling pat at her back where his one hand rested.
The strangeness of the room made him very uneasy. He held onto Maebe just a little tighter in case something bad happened only...Now nothing happened...?
He loosened his hold a bit...

Heidi squeaked and reached for the closest solid thing or person to keep her balance as the floor shook, staring down at the bottomless pit below them with a gasp. Wh-what?! How even..what?! She backed up until she felt a wall against her back, staring at the faces. What were they saying? She didn't get it. What the crap was this? What...why..?
The room came back and Heidi threw the sunglasses off and away from her. She didn't need to be told twice to leave.

Aleister tried not to twitch when the room went dark, having summoned puca for it's soft glow. When the room began to shake and disappear he could only look around panicked.
Of course, luckily the doors flung open and then "The gallery is opening up for pre-show so everyone has been asked to leave" Aleister gladly left the room, having dimissed pookie when the doors started opening. He could do something else.

Ofelia just sort of went "whoa" at everything that happened. No one knew why the guy died, no one knew what would happen next, and the end result was her just like...pushing the sunglasses up onto her head, tucking the key card back into her bosom, and heading towards the door.
The way the ground had split like that made her uncomfortable to say the slightest and now she wanted to go lay down.
Oh wait, she'd run off and given her room key to the others. She had no place to go really because she'd left Before behind too. Well craaaap, Ofelia would just need to figure something out until then?

As soon as the floor started to dissipate, he quickly moved to the adjacent wall to ensure his safety. Smith was both terrified and intrigued. He had never witnessed an entire essentially melting away and after one time, he was certain he didn't want to experience it again. Thankfully, the strange incident was over in moments, and he was more than happy to leave that crazy room. Turning towards the door, he quickly made his way out of the room.

At exactly 7:00 PM island time, which was what the Hunter's cell phones were still set to, which incidentally meant they were sailing somewhere near the Bermuda Triangle, probably a Caribbean cruise, all Hunters would get a text:Text from BLOCKED Dinner with the Captain at 7:00 PM, at the dining hall, floor 6. Attendance is mandatory.

It actually took several long seconds before Maebe had the guts to lift her head back up, but once she realized the lights were back on, she snapped out of her cocoon of fear and realized where she was, and what she was doing. Her hands lifted up in the air and she squirmed, trying to get out of Jude's arms as quickly as possible. "Whoa, whoa, sorry tiger. I thought you were a penny sale at the Gap and had to pounce. Don't take it personally." Her normally sarcastic voice still had an edge of shakiness to it, and she cleared her throat, angered at her phobia exposed. She reached up and pulled him by the collar, staring at him eye to eye. "Don't tell anyone." Who did he need to tell? Half the room could have seen it, if they'd cared. She was counting on them not caring. Without waiting for an answer, Maebe walked with head held too high right out of the exhibit. ((exit))

Jude let her go all too happily. This was a little too much of bubble bursting for his liking. He'd waited until she was on her own two feet, "You got it," he said in response to her asking him to not tell anyone. When she started to exit he just idly wandered after her.
He had nothing better to do.
It beat being alone. (EXIT)
