She looked over, and nodded solemnly. "Please..." She smiled weakly. She was a bit embarrassed about it, but hell, if this girl could muster strength, why couldn't she.

"He used to tell me stories about you....but I didn't realize it was you until the game had started and I saw the way he reacted to you..."

Owle tried to smile, but was afraid it didn't come out looking like one. A comfortable red T-shirt slid out of her hand, into Sam's lap. It was soon followed by those same drawstring Halloween pants, one size fits all. They were the clothes Owle preferred to sleep in, because they were loose and comfortable. It seemed like they would fit just about anyone, so they were the logical choice to lend out. ...even if the two together didn't make the most dignified of outfits.

"Did he..." Owle felt her throat constricting on her, but she had no tears left to cry. She was only hollow now. "What...did he tell you?"

She just laughed kinda of hallowly. "He used to tell them to me like they were bedtime stories when I was little." There was a soft wistful smile to her lips as she thought about the past. "He and his daughter were one of the only sane people in my grandparent's house." She sighed as she dressed. "I only questioned him further about it when I noticed that Sejai didn't age."

"Oh..." Owle turned away as the woman dressed, giving her some privacy.

She wanted to ask Sam more about her life in her grandparents' house, as though by hearing stories about Rafe she could bring him back somehow. But it was rude to pry like that...not when this woman was so shaken.

"I wish I had been able to know him sooner...that I could have had more time with him, before this."

"I confronted him about it once..." She pulled the tie and turned back around. "He said that he had caused you enough trouble."

Owle laughed an empty, hoarse sound. "He should know...he could never cause me enough trouble."

The madness, the foolish things they had done together in more than one life...it had been part of the thrill of falling in love with him. And in the end, she would always say it was worth it.

She shrugged. "It's just what he told me..." She smiled. "Apparently, he couldn't stop himself from butting into your life, time and time again." She smiled softly. "He has a habit of that." her own fond memories resurfacing. She wasn't going to cry damnit.

"I don't think I ever minded..." Owle smiled weakly, remembering. "Well...I guess I had a violent reaction, a time or two. But I didn't know who he was...and you know...afterwards, I don't think I ever regretted he was there."

She laughed. "I even told him one time, that if he was going to dare to dream, he should dream big..." She leaned against the temple before sliding down.

"He then showed me a vial he had gotten that he was going to get the courage up to give you someday..." Again, she turned and looked at Owle. "I'm still not sure what is in that vial..." Her eyes widened..."Oh I'm sorry...you didn't k now...I shouldn't have...Oh me and my big mouth..."

"He gave it to me," Owle said, smiling, letting the woman know it was okay. "I drank it. It...gave me my memories back." Her face looked pained, but she was smiling at the same time.

"Oh wow..." Sam didn't have much to say beyond that. At least he accomplished that. "I wonder if he prayed to Nyx for his good fortune in managing all that before the furies came..."

During all this the Chauffeur stood awkwardly aside, listening and figuring out, to the best he could, what the women were talking about. A~E kind of left him in a bubble half the time.

He merely stood there, trying to look protective as he could, but also antsy, seeing as there were still two others out there. Two others who were equal in power, if not possibly stronger, than whatever possessed Sam.

And Allen's head peeked out of the van, his eyes glancing to Owle and Sam, but not really saying anything about them. After all...saving the world was his job, not snooping about peoples pasts when they didn't give the info to him directly.

"Degs, we should go. There're others out there, so we can't just sit around waiting. We need to try and at mleast minimize the damage."

"I'm not sure how much she was able to help him..." Owle answered. Her feelings about her 'mother' were still mixed.

"You know he's not...gone, right?"

After all, she had to believe that. And this woman, much as she may have shot Owle, seemed like she had been close to Rafe as well...she deserved to know, at least, that there was a chance Rafe could be brought back, even if he were destroyed.

"He's gone enough to matter." She sniffled, it still didn't seem real. She looked over at Owle. "Excuse me..." She stood up and walked over towards Charles, leaning up to kiss his cheek. "Thank you so much for your help."
