"Yeah yeah, I promise." He kind of wanted to be the only one who knew, anyway. It was a point he kept to himself.
"I'm fine." He insisted, brushing off the ashed and debris on his burned clothes. They'd need another shopping trip at this rate. The burns were evident, but the Fear shield was likely to fix it up sooner or later, anyway. "Let's keep going."

"You're sure? We can always--"
She cut herself with a yelp as a piece of the ground crumbled beneath her feet, right by a pit. The resulting impact of the rock meeting the magma sent a splatter of hot matter up and at her legs, and with a hiss of pain, the girl stumbled back, landing rather gracefully on her bottom.
At least she had landed on a solid part of the ground and had not tumbled into a pit. Plus, thank god for their Fear shields. After a moment of wincing and grumbling, she pushed herself back up to her feet.
"Ow."

Otto winced, bending down to help Eva up after her tumble. "I hate this place.." He murmured under his breath.

She gratefully took his hand and got back up, grumbling a quiet agreement. Fortunately, they were close. So very, very close. All it would take was one more step and--

"Did... dd we seriously make it?" Otto asked in complete disbelief. Deep down, he never believed it to be possible. This was just a wild goose chase after all. Maybe not.
He held out his arm.
"Pinch me."

Eva stared at his arm and then did something better. She launched herself at him in a hug.
"Ahhh I DON'T CARE WHAT'S UP HERE I'm just glad we finally made it."

Otto almost staggered backward from the sudden hug. His arms instinctively held her back. "Y-yeah.." They were safe.. they didn't have to do this again. "Come on.. let's get to that altar.."

Pulling Otto along, Eva's eyes widened in surprise as she took in the view that had been awaiting them up here. With all these god statues...and what was that?
She perked up as she noticed something sitting on a pedestal in front of one of the statues. An arrowhead? Curiously, she picked the object up, turning it over in her hands. It didn't look like anything special but...something about it thrummed with energy. After a moment of thought, she moved back to where the blond was.
"It's cool up here, isn't it? ...Though I forgot to bring my camera, so let's go back to Deus Ex to get it, and then scale that cliff again."
A pause.

"Yeah, let's go." Otto replied, allowing Eva to link her arm with his. He hadn't been able to reach anything, all surfaces he'd explored too unstable to balance on.
