Running some sand through her fingers, Yda looked blank in the face. She had no idea what she was going to do with all this sand, or how she was even going to control it, but she had an idea, and that was more than enough. She saw how the two shinobi had fought in the past and one of them used sand. That just seemed like it would work so well for her. Carefully, she picked up a hand-full of sand, trying to do something with it. She used a little bit of chakra and manipulated the sand. It was a little different from what she was used to but she was finally getting the hang of it. As she did this, she allowed performed a single hand sign, needing the chakra to come out of her so that she could successfully manipulate the sand. It wasn’t as intricate as she had expected at times, but she was trying to add more and more sand to this hand full so that she was using the entire pit before her. After carefully moving her hand through the sand and using even more chakra, Yda found herself to be producing massive amounts of sand, all of which seemed to be very flexible. She lifted all the sand with her chakra and created a sort of bending sphere of sand in the air. She knew that she could use this skill to defeat her enemies without having to use her bugs as well. Yda knew she needed a trump card and her bugs were going to be that while her sand would be the initial technique. Carefully, Yda placed the sand back in the pit before moving on to something else needed for sand manipulation.

Now that Yda could make sand appear in a massive form in the air, she needed to give it dimension and shape. Sure, controlling sand was one thing, but to mold it and make it practical was another all-together. After taking a moment to life the sand back into the air, Yda focused hard on it, wanting to make a rather large spear. She knew it would be difficult because it would involve taking smaller pieces and move them around, something she really hadn’t work with yet. Looking at the blob of sand in the air, Yda manipulated her chakra, finding that if she manipulated the chakra then the sand would bend to her will as well. After doing this for a little bit, Yda came to the conclusion that this was a lot easier than she had initially thought it to be. Once her sand was perfectly made into a spear, she put the sand back in the pit. There was still a long ways to go now she could do the initial things.

Yda slowly lifted sand from the pit once more, this time attempting to mold it into something a little different, a cloud of sort that could be used to hold her up in the air so that she could move around without having to stay on the ground. After taking a moment to get the sand out of the pit, Yda stood on top of it. She then proceeded to make several hand signs, all of which made the sand clump together in the shape of a cloud and lift Yda up. Once she was up in the air, she decided to move on to another technique.

Looking over another technique, Yda thought about how this technique might be useful in combat. Picking up sand with her chakra, Yda watched it as it shifted in a perfect sphere, what she wanted to do at this point was compress it, causing anything inside of it to get smashed. Not wanting to test it out on one of her bugs, Yda decided to just do her best, hoping that it would do some serious harm. Compressing her chakra, the sphere of sand grew more dense and dark, almost as though it were compressing. After doing this, Yda released her grip on the sand.

Yda looked over the next technique and with the sand that was being compressed, she smashed it even more by using an additional amount of chakra. It wasn’t really all too hard for her to do at this point. She had been doing kind of well since she was actually at the Academy and her teacher was here in case anything went too terribly wrong.
___ ✎ Suna Bunshin no Jutsu [ Sand Clone Technique ] - 5 Posts, -2 [In Academy]; -1 [Higher Ranking Shinobi]
After manipulating the sand into the form of herself, Yda made a couple of hand signs before the sand completely took her appearance, serving as a bunshin clone. Smiling, Yda wrapped the sand around herself, experimenting with making it harden so that it could be stronger and creating a sort of coat on herself to protect herself. After perfecting this, Yda moved on to another technique.

Carefully focusing her chakra on the sand, Yda turned the sand into sharp needles above her head. She then made another hand sign that forced the needles of sand as an arc of light downwards into the ground. She knew that this technique wasn’t something that was too complicated since she was easily picking it up. Moving on, she looked at another technique.

Yda forced the mound of sand in the air apart and created unique lumps of it in the air using her chakra to manipulate the sand. It was different every time she did this and knew that she would have to adapt to the different rhythm of the sand. After creating her hand signs, the sand flew downwards in large amounts, plummeting at the earth.

With the next technique, Yda focused her chakra in the sand in the sky, instead of making needles or lumps; anything like that, Yda focused it into flat, shuriken-shaped disks in the air. After taking a moment to concentrate on the technique, she launched the disks outward, almost as though to slice at anything in her path. Although, this technique wasn’t too terribly difficult for her to use.

Yda took several deep breaths, preparing for her next technique she wanted to learn. It seemed like it was going to be difficult for her since it was a B-Rank technique and the first technique she would be learning of this caliber. Taking a breath, Yda focused on the ground around her, attempting to turn the ground into a sort of quick-sand that would consume anything. It was different because it focused on the ground rather than the air and using sand already being controlled. After taking some time to manipulate the sands and the ground beneath, Yda noticed that the ground was slowly starting to sink in. She realized that in order for this to work properly, she would need to manipulate the chakra in the ground. Nodding to herself, Yda pumped more chakra into it, making it work effectively. After finding herself successful, Yda moved on to something else.

Taking a deep breath, Yda focused on her next technique, an absolute defense that would keep her safe from most harm. Although, she didn’t really like the idea of having to rely on defending herself when she wanted her strategy to be relentless onslaught. Still, with all the attacks at her disposal this never hurt to learn. Taking a moment to go over the technique, Yda decided to use it to the best of her abilities. Taking a deep breath, she made the sand from ground rise up in a tiny dome around her. She got this far, now it was just time to harden the sand and make it a defense that she could rely on. Focusing all her energy into the technique, Yda created a small little field around herself, one that could protect her from a lot of damage. After making this field, Yda solidified it with chakra. After making it work she moved on.

This next technique was sort of a thin layer of sand around the body that could withstand most blows on it. Yda liked the technique, even though of course she wanted to attack more. Even if a technique was defensive, it never hurt to have it just in case she was fighting someone ridiculously stronger than her. Smiling, Yda focused chakra in her hands, trying her best to concentrate and do her very best with this technique. She knew it wasn’t going to be easy, especially since it was sort of instant solid defense that was mainly used as a plan B. After getting chakra around herself infused with sand, a thin amount of course, Yda focused on making it stronger so that it would be able to withstand most attacks used. It was a little difficult since it was so close to her skin, but she didn’t want to mess up. After working really hard, Yda completed the technique.

Taking a moment to go over her next technique, Yda created several hand signs, making the wind around her spin slowly, she needed to make it move really fast though, not how slowly she was doing it now. She knew this technique would be helpful as it served as a barrier to protect her from most things. After perfecting her armor of Wind, Yda moved on to another technique.
___ ✎ Bouseki Tate no Kaze [ Spinning Shield of Winds ]- 4 Posts, -2 [In Academy]; -1 [Higher Ranking Shinobi]
This next technique didn’t look like it would be too difficult either considering it involved wind again. Yda liked the ability to control wind and use it in combat, she just felt like her sand techniques took priority of course. After focusing her chakra and making it into the wind, Yda created a spinning shield of wind in front of her, this could be used to block attacks as well as reflect some ninjutsu back at the user. After completing this, Yda decided that she would go ahead and move on to non-elemental techniques.
___ ✎ Shunshin no Jutsu [ Body Flicker Technique ] - 4 Posts, -2 [In Academy]; -1 [Higher Ranking Shinobi]
Creating a single hand sign, Yda focused on how to use this technique to the best of her abilities. She could use it to move quickly next to someone or quickly away from someone. She didn’t think it would be too hard to master, primarily because it was only a D-Rank. After taking a moment to use chakra, she vanished, teleporting to the back of the building in an instant. Once she accomplished this, she picked up her last technique she wanted to learn.
___ ✎ Kage Bunshin no Jutsu [ Shadow Clone Technique ]- 8 Posts, -2 [In Academy]; -1 [Higher Ranking Shinobi]
This technique would be a shadow clone technique of sorts. Even though she could make clones out of sand, Yda really wanted to be able to make them out of things like air. She knew she wouldn’t be fighting on land every single time she got into it and the fact that some of her techniques were sand-based could put her at a disadvantage, however, since she was also a bug-wielder, that could more than make up for her weaknesses. After taking a moment to make several hand-signs, all of which were relevant to the technique she wanted to perform, she pumped a decent amount of chakra out, a B-Rank worth since this technique was a B-Rank. She then watched as the Chakra surged outwards, enveloping the world around it. And almost as though it were magic, a clone of Yda appeared in a puff of smoke. Admiring only for a moment, Yda dismissed the clone and decided to go back inside and see what everyone was up to.
