(Kratos)
Well. This was going to be somewhat a one-sided conversation and she wasn't really that much of a chatterbox, as far as she knew. Still, it was nice to have company. "Think I might get something t' drink. Did you want something too?" Wine or punch or whatever they were serving- the drink would be more for giving her something to do while she 'observed for her report' than it would be for the pleasure of a drink, but that would be a benefit anyway.

[Tambrey]
Perhaps he should make more of an effort to pass as 'social' because of the type of gathering this was,but wouldn't that just appear forced and unbelievable? No, better to remain on the quieter side and honest... more or less. Even if it might make others a bit uncomfortable. "Only if they have something non-alcoholic," he said in response to Tambrey's question. "I don't drink." Drinking dulled the senses, left a person unprepared... made them drop their guard.
"This is taking longer than I expected," he confessed, allowing a bit of his irritation to show. He never liked milling around, waiting for people to get to the point. There was a difference between waiting for the right moment to strike and simply wasting time with inane and pointless matters. If something was going to be done, why not do it? Why waste time with trivialities?

[Ivory and Yuri]
Jason nodded sadly at the mention of Goldenrod and Yuri's followup question. "Oh, I'm afraid so. It's not unheard of with criminal organizations such as them."
His mood then seemed to instantly do a 180. "I'll just go check on those larger cards for you, miss," he finished by way of excusing himself as Yuri also left.
[Hayes]
At first, Harvard was content to wait. She had a good view of the terrain, and a hatred for whomever had invented heels. No sooner had Hayes moved a few yards, though, she spotted some young gentleman eying the table where she sat. Well, obviously (hopefully) it wasn't going to be the table he was interested in or making eyes at. Letting out an annoyed exhale, she scooped up her purse and made her escape after the other Elite. This was why she had asked Hayes along in the first place, after all. She caught up with Hayes around the time he reached the refreshments.

Claire
Even just a light touch on his arm made his heart skip. He really was an idiot, but he couldn’t seem to care. “You uh... you look great too.” She did, purple dress to match the streaks in her hair, but not her eyes tonight; she didn't have her contacts in. Oh, the dress matched and shoes too, girls liked it when guys noticed they had shoes... noticed what kind of shoes that had, that was. “I, um, I don’t think I’ve seen you in a dress like that before. You look, well, great. Beautiful.” She did. He was still faintly baffled by the concept that they were apparently dating, or more to the point that he hadn’t ******** it up yet.
“Anyway, where was I? I was looking for you! Well, that and getting mistaken for security staff.” Aulus rubbed the deep scar across his face and smiled ruefully. “I think I got my point across to her though, she left very embarrassed.” He didn’t like it, and strangers mistook him for hired dumb muscle, but Claire liked it so that was what mattered, right? It certainly made him feel a lot better about it in general.
*****
[Nadja]
Ohhhh, that. Dith grinned and rubbed the back of his neck, glad that he wasn’t going to have to try to explain fandoms/rabid fans to Nadja in a language that everyone around them understood. //I’m sure they wouldn’t be interested in the things we talk about anyway. Cult. Well. Some people who get seriously into a fandom... like a TV show or a movie or a game do act a bit like a cult and.... How far did I get with explaining this last time? And how are you, which I probably should have asked first. You look good, but appearances can be deceptive.// He never had found out what it was that she did, only that it involved very long and sometime rather unpredictable hours.
*****
[Xander]
“Yes. Quite.” Frost fell silent and looked around. After a few moments he looked back at Xander. “So what exactly is it we’re supposed to do here?” By and large the other guests appeared to be imbibing free alcohol, eating free food, or standing and talking to one another in groups of up to about eight. He had no desire to mingle with strangers.

[Yuri + Jason]
The girl really didn't have an answer to the boy's question aside from a subtle nod. Jason seemed a bit better and answering that sort of question. And all she could do was add yet another nod of her head.
Yuri smirk was harder for her to see, but his body language seemed to read as somewhat teasing. Though such seemed to have to wait for now, since the man then excused himself.
"...um... okay..." Rather than stay standing like a dolt in place waiting for two men to come back to her, she managed to wander herself to a nearby table and sat herself down.

(Seto)
While she was making marks, the stick in the girl's hand cracked a little.Turning her back to Kaiba once more, Tymiko violently flung her broken utensil into the distance. It hit a tree somewhere in the darkness ahead of her, snapping on impact.
"Oh, I never said he was my friend," the child replied, resting her elbow on a propped-up knee as she seemed to stare at the spot the stick had snapped. "I never liked him. Too grounded, cold, and logical. Reminded me of a Snover. He just wanted to numb everything so he didn't have to feel."
Pushing herself back to her feet, she walked over to the weary-looking man. He seemed to be wearing a pained look. "Why?" she asked, regarding his final conclusion as she stood over him. Maybe he wanted rest or sleep. Maybe she should leave him alone. But she was still so curious...and that pokeball. What was in it? Ty glanced around for it while Seth's eyes were still closed.
(Repede, Yuri)
Blue eyes narrowing, the child-faced teen seemed about to throw the nearest object he could find at Repede - at least until he heard Yuri's voice. So - these pokemon weren't wild after all. All the more reason for him not to trust them.
The annoyed expression left the boy's face as Yuri's attention was drawn. Immediately he took up the stance and look of a frightened innocent, cringing so that his tail was back against the table. Maybe he could play out his illusion for a little bit longer, but time was running out.

(Kratos) "There are kids here," Tambrey pointed out "I'm pretty they /have/ to provide something non-alcoholic." Technically, she supposed she shouldn't really be having an alcoholic drink either, but as this was (as much as it was a recon' mission) a rare chance to be at a fancy party, she was going to have at least one glass. That wouldn't do any harm. She shrugged, as she looked around to find out where people were getting their drinks from. "These things always take longer than expected; everything tends to. It's kind 'f hard to think of and plan f'r everything... I wouldn't be concerned about an extra half hour 'r so."

(Weidman, Faleen)
Enthused hobbyists...pokemon trainers...what were they, exactly? As he thought about the difficult question, Izaya realized that it might have been something Faleen wouldn't be too passionate about answering. She couldn't exactly tell him the truth about her job and how much she loved it, could she? At least not without giving clues about herself.
Not that she wasn't capable of answering it, but she didn't like human interaction and he did. Nakura reminded himself that this hadn't been a mandatory event and that Faleen had chosen to come anyway, likely only for his sake. He didn't want this to be a bothersome or irritating experience for her or she might never feel like going out and being around people again unless it was for a mission.
"We're a little bit of both, actually," the informant told Weidman with a merry laugh. "We raise and train pokemon who aid and work with us at our hobbies. After all, who doesn't need pokemon these days? Even if they're just kept as companions, I'd say they'd need to get exercise and practice their abilities just like any trainer's pokemon. Doesn't that make everyone a pokemon trainer in a way?"
Choosing to avoid answering directly and in any specific terms, he hoped the man would keep to his own, polite business as politicians and other public figures tended to do. If Weidman didn't pry, at least the grunt would know his story was passable enough to avoid suspicion and yet general enough to provide an adequate answer that was required for polite conversation. He had the card now, but there were about a million other things Izaya felt he needed to do before the main event began.
"I'm sure there are a million other things you need to tend to before the event," the black-haired man sympathized, turning his own needs around to make it sound as though he were putting the League man's first. "Far more important than mingling with random guests such as ourselves. We had better not keep you, but you can be sure I'll be calling you soon!" That Weidman could count on.

(Pokemon group)
A sound caught the informant's attention just as he was bidding farewell to Weidman. It was a pokemon cry - an eevee's. He tried to peer into the crowds for the source, wondering if maybe it was a Rocket pokemon and that was some kind of urgent signal that something had come up.
What he saw, however, was a pale Eevee among a various assortment of other pocket monsters; some belonging to Rockets and some not. If the light had been better, he might have noticed that the uniquely-colored Spinarak appeared familiar, but his mind was overwhelmed with thoughts and the prominent one was what he put into words. "...Is that a shiny Eevee?"
Checking his pocket for his pokeballs, Orihara dug around until he had retrieved a pink one with a heart on it. Delic. He only brought him out when he really needed him, but for this particular event, he would be a good pokemon to be his eyes and ears. With Delic having been seen as Nakura's pokemon by various trainers and the fact that Delic was in no way malicious, spiteful, or fearful of his trainer, the Chingling seemed like one of the least-likely pokemon to belong to Team Rocket. The heart coloration might have helped, too. Who could find a pokemon intimidating when it had a giant pink heart on it?
Faleen wasn't likely to enjoy seeing Delic considering she had stated she didn't like psychic-types, the Chingling was loud and enthusiastic, and patterned with the color and shape that Rosie loved so much. However, it wasn't as though Izaya intended for him to stay with them. He released the bell pokemon, who came out clinging to his leg.
"Delic, I'm asking you a favor," he spoke calmly, which surprised Delic because Izaya was usually harsher. The psychic-type immediately hopped off his trainer's shoe and looked up at the Rocket curiously. The main reason for the grunt's calm voice, though, was mostly not to draw suspicion from the other guests.
"See that pretty Eevee over there?" Orihara gestured toward Opal. "She sounded like she was inviting others to come play. Why don't you go say hi? You like making friends, don't you?" Delic nodded eagerly. Like to flirt with them, more like, his trainer thought. "Could you go over there and tell her how pretty she is? Maybe ask her if she's a rare and ellusive shiny Eevee."
It was a long shot, but if Pokemon could understand - and what better type to convey his message than a Psychic? - then he hoped the compliment would be akin to the human cliche of 'Are you a model?' If he was really lucky, maybe the Eevee would actually deny or confirm it. And Delic would be useful without even realizing it, so easily convinced into believing that Izaya just wanted to give him tips on pick-up lines.
He considered asking Delic to go pick up Natalia's - no, Aila's necklace while he was out and about, but it was too risky and suspicious. He'd also have a hard time justifying thievery to Delic when he tries so hard to get others to like him, and Natalia was with the trainers. If they connected Delic with thievery and Delic was connected to Nakura, he was just as good as caught.
"Make sure you come back to me later on," he called to the Chingling, who was already happily skipping toward the pokemon group, making his magical, sparkly, fantasy bell chimes as he walked. One thing Izaya liked about Delic - he was easy to manipulate and very predictable. There was no way he would run off on his own - he loved Izaya too much. The pokemon was so eager to please. He would be back.
The informant watched the bell pokemon go, wondering what Asch was doing, plotting over how he was going to get Aila's necklace back, and pondering if he needed to watch out for Shizuo. At the back of his mind were various other things, like how Faleen had dressed so well, if she had someone to help her, if Catherine would be at the event and what she would do. Thus, the usually vigilant observer failed to note that a certain Elite Agent was headed their way.

[Tymiko]
Seth huffed, as he if was a bit offended by Tymiko's words. "Perhaps he has the right idea," he said, although he knew that sounded ridiculous. It wouldn't bother him if he wasn't guilty of the same thing. The man was well aware of the fact that he was unlikable, but old habits died hard, and Seth had been this way for most of his life. It wasn't something you could easily change, especially when life sucked.
"Why, what?" he then asked, not opening his eyes. The balls he had with him had been hidden under his suit jacket, but were now partially exposed due to the way he was sitting. The wiggling one in particular was a master ball.
[Blue Boy]
Yuri came over and blinked, looking between the boy who looks scared to death, and the Growlithe who gave him a frowning stare. Okay.. something was up, and Yuri knew for sure that Repede wasn't harassing this kid, or at least he wouldn't without good reason. Maybe the kid was just afraid of dog Pokemon?
"Hey, you okay?" Yuri asked, looking back to the boy. "Sorry if the mutt is bothering you. He's pretty harmless."

[Tambrey]
"You might be surprised," Kratos said, thinking of some of the parties he had attended in the past, both with Anna and while working. Often children were brought along with wealthy parents as a kind of living ornament, and left to their own devices with or without their own refreshment options. Lloyd had never been taken to any parties of that variety, with good reason.
A server came by, then, and Kratos took a drink from the tray, offering it to Tambrey. "Likely, but one never can tell," he replied, watching pokémon mill through the crowd. While Miette would have been too noticeable, Martel was a different case. The redhead contemplated releasing the leafeon to do a little surveillance for him, but after weighing the options in his mind he decided that the idea would keep for now. He might still need her by his side later.

[Kunai]
"W-Well, you know... Sometimes he just gets busy, and..." If she was a devoted enough girlfriend to stand patiently in one place for as long as she had, she was certainly devoted enough to defend the imaginary boyfriend's actions despite knowing they were wrong. If she were a more sentimental or emotional individual, the words might have had some sincerity to them, being easily likened to her last relationship. That sincerity did not surface, however, regardless of how convincing her acting was. The necessary sentimentality simply did not exist.
The largely weepy expression gained a little more resolve at the suggestion of 'Angie's friend,' "You know what, you're right. Get all dressed up and come out to this huge party... Brandon's loss! I'll have so much fun he'll be completely jealous! That'll teach him to stand me up!" Understood.

(Kratos)
"Well, maybe," She conceded "but this is the League; their whole thing 's about getting the young into pokemon. 'Get your license at 10'? I doubt the League would make an announcement and not take 'kid friendly' serious, regardless of how fancy a function this happens to be. Wouldn't be good f'r their image if 'their future' was overlooked in this region, right?" She turned back to discover that Kratos had grabbed her a drink. "Oh. Uh, thanks." She gave him a puzzled, but thankful, smile; he was getting to remind her rather of Frost. All that focus on the practical and the conservation of his words and yet still imbued with the politeness, or social grace, enough to do something like that. She tasted the drink; champagne. Well, not too surprising to find that, and it would do for sipping. "That's true." She replied to his latest, short, comment on things. "Better, maybe, to just accept it though, at a place like this. Nothing /we/ can do, after all."

[ALL DE POKEYMANZ!]
SUCCESS! At least it seemed like it was success! Another Pokemon approached, which caused the Eevee to hop up to her paws and hop side to side in excitement. With the Spinarak still on her tail, she then proceeded to scamper towards the approaching something-or-other.
It was always tricky to tell upon physical appearance what Pokemon was, since her eyes kinda weren't as sharp as she had been able to see with Compound Eyes or Keen Eyes. She yipped out an eager greeting and introduced herself with an "Eevee vee vee eevee eeve!" With a wag of her tail, she then attempted to introduce the spider Pokemon that was still hopefully riding along. "Vee eevee vee!" Then with a paw she turned to face the pink Ponyta briefly. "Vee eevee vee vee!" Repede-friend had run off, so she couldn't point at him and introduce him too.

[Catherine]
Kunai's character was apparently the stronger personality of the two, which was completely fine with the Elite. It gave "Angie" a sort of sympathetic edge should they have any conversations with other individuals, where as Kunai was attempting to put people off guard by acting the role of a younger individual.
The pink haired girl parted her lips, showing her teeth in the form of a grin as "Angie" accepted her offer, letting out a childish giggle. Her face hurt from this action, but what choice did she have. Stoic-faced little girls didn't exactly seem very trustworthy in comparison to happier ones.
Speaking of happier things, Kunai glanced to the pink tailed Chimecho that was accompanying her. In a nearly cooing manner, she prompted the Pokemon with a seemingly caring tone. "Fluttersong... be sure to keep up with us... you know we love to party it up!"
With that, the small girl began to tug on Catherine's arm, as if she was being an excitable individual, laughing slightly. "Angie, you have to sneak me some booze... and promise not to tell my parents... and you too Robbie... you can't tell my parents! I will kill you if you do!"
"YOU GOING TO GET SLOSHED?! HOLY SH*T, ROFL!!!" There was cackling sounding off in her ear, though nobody else could hear that.
"I don't care Robbie... I can handle my liquor... shut up!" Apparently Kunai's character had a bit of a rebellious streak to her that made her sound like a party goer.
"I saw some dudes over here with trays of food and wine and stuff... come on Angie... you'll do this for me, right?" There was a softer, pleading look to her usually sharp gaze that was directed to Catherine, though she was certain the grunt could follow the directions pretty easily. There were individuals gathered in that area, some familiar, some that most certainly were trainers, and some that seemed to be officials for the event. All good places to start.
