In one hand, Freya held her blossom. The other remained resting on Herryk's shoulder when he bent down to set his blossom into the river. She watched it float on for just a moment, before quickly plopping down onto her knees beside him and putting her own lotus in the water. She aimed, very carefully, and then pushed it along, giving it enough of a shove to catch up to Herryk's before bumping gently into it and settling into a lazy float beside it. She stood and watched them float down the river, joining the others.
They looked so beautiful. Whoever thought this up had been a genius.
She let Herryk stay and watch the blossoms drift for a minute while she moved to take windchimes for the two of them, returning to his side and looking from one to another. They all looked similar.. but she was still trying to decide which she liked more.

Herryk rose to his feet when Freya approached with two windchimes, leaning forward to press a distracted kiss to her temple.
"This was a nice thing, hmm? The candles, these chimes. It was a nice thing."
A nice thing for a nice ghoul.
"Has Freya had enough cupcakes?"

The answer to a question like that was always a resounding no. She grinned up at him, and wordlessly headed over to the cupcakes, taking two more in her hands. She brought one to her lips, seconds away from chomping down, when she saw him. That.. gods, she couldn't remember if she'd ever even learned his name. He was one of the two guys always hanging around the president, wasn't he? And she already knew Jericho wasn't dating her, which meant.. Her lower lip jutted out in a pout, and she left rather quickly, showing up suddenly in front of Malodore. Wordlessly, she gave the plague doctor a soft, regretful smile, and then offered it one of her cupcakes. Whether he took it or not, she would bend in and kiss it right on the beak, an action that, in it's spontaneity, would unsurprisingly be unwanted. But her sentiment was clear, and after she'd done it, she bounded, practically skipping, back to Herryk's side. Her free hand slid easily within his, and she nodded up at him. "Okay. We can goes."

-And then suddenly, ghoul.
Ghoul giving it cupcake.
Ghoul kissing it on the beak?!
And then she was gone, leaving Malodore blinking and bemused and thoroughly unsure how it should feel about all that - it felt vaguely wounded, in that the last person to have kissed it was no longer Riley, but the faint brush of lips on beak was... so completely not Riley, in fact impossible for her, that it was in no way the same thing. No, it didn't mean anything.
It settled for just sort of staring out at the lake some more, then closing its eyes and listening to the soft sound of the water. It could hear the chimes, too... water and chimes, it could almost be at the pavilions again. The pavilions, which no longer existed, with Riley, who no longer existed.
Except in its heart, and its memories.
It was a fair enough farewell, and the plague doctor would linger there until everyone else left - and leave before the lights went out, to spare itself that sight. To it, the lake would always be exactly as it was at this moment, and it would hold that memory next to the other. Bookends - perhaps they could keep its pain within their grasp, encompassed within the chime of metal and water.
Si. It was fair enough.
((While Malodore is not ICly exiting, it isn't going to respond to anything else~ it's just going to be quiet until the end. So this is kind of an exit post even though it's not ICly leaving yet... yep!))

Angenora felt it was her time to pay her respects to the fallen fellow student. She took one of the lanterns and lighting it before she placed it onto the lake's edge. She watched as it began to drift away towards the other lanterns. "May you come back to us one day... To life...To love....To Amityville..." She whispered as a tear rolled down her cheek She wiped it away quickly before anyone could see. Giving off a light sigh, she would give her good bye to Malodore before heading off back to the undead dorm rooms. she would need to spend time alone for a little while. "I believe everything happens for a reason... I give you this as a token of respect, Plague Doctor..." She said lightly before leaving behind a pin with a black background, a white toothy grin, and purple locks around it. "If you ever wish to talk, I'll be in the undead dorms..." She told it before departing this time. [[ Exit]] Sosiqui I will give you Angenora's pin when it's completed to have Malodore keep

Christof had gazed off into the lake for a few moments, slowly digesting the actions and inherent symbolism. Little lights for Mistress, twinkling in the gloomy light. He glanced to Amrita, unwinding his soaking wet scarf to show a soft smile under his slightly damp eyes and nodded softly.

Herryk waited and watched as Freya went to kiss the plague doctor, his face flickering with a hundred different emotions.
Regret. So much regret. Loss. Sympathy for the plague doctor, and for the others that Riley had left behind. Disappointment colliding with frustration. Emotions warred with each other on the craggy features of the draugr before they coalesced and settled, merging into one solid emotion.
A determined sort of hope.
He waited for Freya to return, squeezing her hand carefully before he leaned down to press a kiss to her temple. At least he had Freya. There was that small solace, that despite everything - he had Freya.

All of the kisses to Freya's temple finally made her look up at the draugr, curious as to what was going on in his mind. The world weighed too heavily on his shoulders, and her fervent determination was simply to ease that burden any way she could. So she leaned against his arm, and smiled up at him brightly, exuding the happiness only Herryk could elicit from her. Wordlessly, she led him back to the dorms, her arm swinging his back and forth between them childishly as they walked.

While she waited for her answer she was carefully moving over to pick up the lantern itself, holding it gingerly by the bottom. Somehow she figured he'd share this with her, and once he confirmed it she returned the smile, shuffling over to sit on the edge. Once she was settled she beckoned for him to come closer, holding out the lantern one-handed as if encouraging him to hold it with her.
"Togeth--Oh! Um, Hold on---" A sudden thought occured and she shifted her weight, using her free hand to dig into her pocket. A small white bone was pulled out, and almost immediately put into the lotus, hearing it clink against the piece that was holding the candle in place; luckily, nothing tilted or fell or set them on fire. Whew.
"Okay, there~" Seemingly very happy with herself now, her free hand slid around Christof's back as best as she could. "Do you have anything small you wanna put in it?" She had put the little bone after all, perhaps he had something small on him too?

Christof shifted, staring long and hard at the little boat, his brows knitting. He scooted along the bank until his damp, hunched shoulder leaned against Amrita's more petite frame before he seemed to come to some sort of resolution. His hand reached up and touched his chest, just at his heart where Riley's- where his Mistress' mark had once been. He exhaled slowly, fishing his pocket knife out of his sopping coat, flicking it up and raised it up to his neck. After a few moments of reflection, he sawed through a small lock of hair, fastening it all together with his pin before setting it beside the bone. "Parts-to-parts. Grave-to-Grave. Dust-to-Dust." he signed.

Amrita saw what he was signing, and after the initial parts-to-parts she bowed her head, idly watching out of the corner of her eye for when he was finished. The little prayer was finished and Amrita took another moment of silence before she gestured again, waiting for him to hold onto the bottom of the lotus with her. She was hellbent on making sure they did this completely together, especially since he had set himself on fire to help her and all she had done to thank him was push him in the lake. Besides, Riley had been an important figure in both their lives; what Amrita didn't know however, was that if it weren't for Riley, this little...whateverthiswas she had with Christof probably wouldn't have existed. Yet another thing she had to thank Riley for, and would now never get the chance.
Once they were both holding onto it, Amrita slid her free arm around Christof's back as best as she could, leaning forward with him to place the lantern on the water. With a gentle push the glowing lotus left their hands, floating on the dark water to go and join the others.
Rest in Peace, Riley.

He let his mismatched hands join her awkward twisted hands as they eased the lantern-boat down, equally wary of the fire, but at least his wet clothes protected him a bit. He watched it drift away, his hand sliding down to take her's, leaning against her offered arm around his hunched shoulders. He didn't look away, the only thing he could think to say further being a distant sigh.

As it got later, Lizzy softly ushered for people to leave; the cupcakes, wind chimes, and lanterns were left where they were. Just a little longer. For the lost, for the people who were lagging behind... She had expected some more - maybe they would like to do this alone. However, all the tables and decoration were gone by the time the pumpkin sun rose the next morning - the paper lanterns that had been released on the lake had sunk by morning due to absorbing too much water... And they would stay, together with each and every prayer and token offered, at the bottom of the lake.
Maybe someday, they'll be able to keep their memories alive by telling them as stories.
