Regarding Alk hybrids-
A previous question described how Alkidikes eyes worked, with their eyes registering dimmer lights and having generally poorer eyesight than earthlings. How would this affect alk hybrids? Would their eyes end up having the full spectrum (and the drawbacks) if they had more earthlings like eyes (generally poorer eyesight as well?)? Would those with the alk eyes have better vision with their earthling heritage? Or is this all up to the owner?
[Ex. My Wyome has Alkidike eyes- would she be able to withstand sunlight better over her lifespan? Would her low light spectrum be compromised if she did venture into Jauhar?]
Answer
This is based on the physical choices the owner has made when creating the character.
If the character has Alkidike eye anatomy (like Wyome) then they will have the poorer eyesight that the anatomy of the eye comes with.
If the character has earthling eye anatomy, then they will have and earthling's eyesight.
Since this is a physiological trait difference passed on genetically there is no in between. The eyes of the earthlings and the Alkidike are quite different in makeup so it's either one or the other regardless of what color the eyes are.

Common misconception that gets overlooked in the World Info:
Can earthlings travel to Chibale/see Aisha?
Answer
NO. Earthlings cannot travel to Chibale or see Aisha, even if they're just waiting at the shore. It is considered insulting/rude/blasphemous and/or an attack, etc for earthlings to even touch Chibale soil.
The only way an earthling can go to Aisha is to breed, and only when they are breeding. (They cannot go visit just because they've been there before.)

In regards to the Yaeli: They have a lot going for superstitions, but do some good luck/bad luck concepts exist for things such as left-handedness, Polydactyly or other "oddities"? Are there general ones we should know about or are these more based on the groups/individuals?
Answer
This is more based on the individual. Common superstitions are those listed in their race description such as blessing houses and babies.
In regards to the Alkidike: Blood color? I want to assume red and that they have a more closed circulatory system with their humanoid structure, but just wanted to verify considering arthropods have hemolymph (which makes blood blue) and some of them have both the open and closed circulatory systems.
Answer
Alkidike have red blood. All humanoid species on Tendaji (which is all playable races/species) have red blood and closed circulatory systems.

Can other races eyes glow like the Yaeli?
Answer
No. The Yaeli's eyes glow due to a combination of their biology and their diet on the island. There is no way for a different race to obtain the glow, and if a Yaeli were to move off of the island for an extended period of time their glow would fade and disappear since they were no longer eating the same diet as if they were on Yael.

I'm sorry, but I seem to be blind ... where is the information on spell slots per stage/class located? Edit: to be clear, I see "5 spells into battle with them", but then there's also information in the special attack section that states "Uses 2 (of the same) spell slots", does this mean you can bring a spell (like lightning lvl 2 with 7 uses) into battle as it has multiple "uses" and those are the slots, so the special attack (like a Dream Walker's Elemental Fury) would expend 2 of that spell's uses for the battle?
Answer
Yes. Magic users can bring up to 5 spells into battle, but all spells have a certain amount of uses or "slots" per battle. Lvl2 spells have 7 uses, so to use a special attack like Elemental Fury it would use up 2 of their uses or "slots", like you said.
Different spells cannot be combined to do this though, so if it uses multiple slots it has to come from the same spell.

The Yael's bio states: "The chemicals and pollution permanently rooted in the soil and ground underfoot has turned their crystals and sclera a dark, deep black" So does an earthling(or alkidike) moving to Yael and living there (as in decades not just a year or two) cause any changes/issues? Or do they just stay the same since the changes that occurred to the Yael people takes generations to take affect? (Fairly certain the answer is no...but it never hurts to ask!)
Answer
No. The Yaeli are the only species that is effected by the terrain and it took generations to accomplish. The others would not be effected.
Since the Island is (sorta) toxic, are there harmful effects for non natives eating the food or living there? Some sort of sickness, or just it takes awhile to get used to the food? Funny tasting water sorta thing XD
Answer
It's more like a funny tasting water sort of thing. The Yaeli have found ways to prep the food and drink to reduce any harm, it would just be a weird aftertaste to the other races. If they were to go out and forage for food themselves, there could be upset stomachs if the food is not prepped first.

Do people only live in the official map settlements (in an organized sense, rather than just wandering around and camping of course)? Or are there other, smaller 'villages' that don't exist on the official map?
If it's the latter, are there any rules/etiquette for making up small villages and the like?
Answer
The vast majority of the people of Tendaji live in one of the official settlements. We don't limit owners to just living in those specified locations though so there is the possibility of random families living somewhere off on the outskirts somewhere, and we don't mind if there are other super small settlements created to fit with the character's story.
There aren't really any rules to creating a settlement, but typically if it's something you think would need approval for being out of the norm, you could send a PM to us and ask if it would be ok.

1. Can we have characters with custom weapons? Example: crossbow with unique designs on it of a dragon or something. Is there a stage requirement?
Answer Character must be stage 4+ to have fully custom weapons. Until then there are only a limited number of edits you can make to the weapon depending on the stage of the character. Our Armory has more information regarding how to alter a weapon.
2. Was looking over the attributes for legendary characters, what would not be acceptable for Animal/Bird inspired features? Like a beak? Wings? etc.
Answer When working on the Legendary stage, owners will need to get approval from staff about their trait. Some things won't work in Tendaji, others would. Inspired features wouldn't be anything so drastic as a beak or wings, but smaller things like feathers growing out of bony spots (like collar bone, cheeks, something), or talons, scaled patches, etc would be more appropriate. It's really very case by case depending on what the owner is looking for. Additional limbs or wings/tails/etc are more along the lines of far fetched in Tendaji generally speaking.
3. More of a suggestion I guess? In future meta's, could non-battle characters be allowed to RP if they do not sign up for the meta? Most meta's cater to battle characters but when non-battle characters try to get involved they "have to have information relative to ___ event" which isn't always possible. OR could options be opened up for non-battle characters to do for the meta? The explanation I got last meta of "meta's aren't really for non-battle characters" isn't a good one because then we have two months + of not being able to do anything.
Answer We always try to include something for non-battle characters and we usually have a separate thread for non-battlers to focus on them (because of RL restraints we could not for this last meta). Metas are also not always focused on fighting. Half of our metas have been fighting related, the other have are exploration.
Staff is already looking for ways to improve on the meta system since there are now so many characters in Tendaji, but we don't have a definitive answer for you yet.
4. Can we quest for multiple characters at one time? However, they wouldn't be approved until a character slot opened up, correct?
Answer Yes. For normal quests. Adoptables can only be quested for one at a time, but normal quests can be created as pleased. They will only be approved if you have character slots open for them though.
5. Part of the above, do we have to put "priority" for which one we want first?
Answer If there's a specific one you would like to get approved first, just let us know somehow. Either mark priority or quote us or something. <3

Being so long-detached from the Mainlands, do the Yaeli have a different dialect in terms of the common tongue? Kind of like how American English is different than European English?
Answer
Canonically, they most likely do. Owners can do what they see fit though, since we don't want to make anything more complicated than it needs to be IC.

Question on Diseases....
Crystal Rot: does the disease leave behind any types of scarring? Like the wound remains a blueish scar for ever? (other than loss of skin and limbs due to improper treatment/lack there of.)
Also, the 2 diseases listed both involve contaminated water... so do the Yaelians have a slightly higher ratio of people infected due to their environ? Or does it not exist there yet?
Answer
All illnesses are player made and not strictly canon to Tendaji. They are just contributions to add to the fun. So officially, they do not effect the Yaeli any different than they would anyone else. And we cannot answer the question to scarring since we did not invent the illnesses. (We would guess they probably could.

Rehoming Question
If a character's art has been rehomed but the personality remains and the old owner wishes to return. Could they request new art made of their old character and not have it be a character quest? Since technically the character already exists but their look has been given away?
Answer
When a character is rehomed, it is most usually being done so with the owner's permission. This means that the owner does not intend to come back to the character. So while we cannot give the personality away, the owner will not be entitled to new art. They would have to either win art in an event or buy a custom to get new art for the character.
Questing Question
Since the new system is basically to create a 2k journal entry in place of the old system, would one be able to work on the quest for another character while they are waiting for the cool down period to pass?
Answer
(The new word min is 1.5k so we've lessened that.) Yes. The quest solo has to be completed prior to posting for growth, so owners can complete quest solos for characters even if waiting for the cooldown to expire. They cannot complete the quest solo until after all other requirements have been met though. This should be the very last thing they do.

Activity Checks:
Can characters be rehomed?
Answer
Characters approved/won after the reopening are subject to the new rules in their entirety. Customs will not be rehomed, but event characters can if the owner is not active.
Characters approved/won before the reopening are still subject to activity, but will not be rehomed, only retired if the owner is not active for an extended amount of time.
Can retired characters come back?
Answer
Yes! Retired characters are characters that are confirmed not active at the time. All an owner has to do is ask us anywhere they like if they can be reinstated and we will move them out of retirement.
What about a hiatus?
Answer
If an owner comes to staff and announces a hiatus to us we will note that in the staff thread and you will not be sent anything regarding activity during the period that the hiatus encompasses. If the end time was not specified, we will just check in with an occasional PM seeing how you're doing but nothing serious.

Class quest Question
If you are waiting on an rp to finish but have everything else you need to grow, can you work on the quest?
Answer
Technically no. The quest should be the last thing a character does in their current stage so they can incorporate any of the things that happened to them in their quest and their mindset.

Because I always forget XD ::
If I dodge and roll a 20, does my retaliate get to apply crit damage? In counterattack it states that crits and fails take effect, but it does not state this for Retaliate.
Answer
The crit roll would apply to the dodge roll, but would not factor into the dmg for retaliate. Because countering requires new rolls, the crit roll does apply in the case of a counter.

Just wondering about the crit bonus. If you get a 20 on your dmg d20 and not the hit d20 does the crit bonus still apply?
Answer
No. It is for the hit roll only. 20 for the dmg roll is just a normal calculation.
