Gran blinked curiously up at the funny blonde girl who had randomly walked in and disturbed his morning walk about the dorm by blocking the door. He had been about to leave and catch some fish, since Landon had forgotten to feed him all day yesterday and forced the cub to go find a river from which to fish, but with this girl in the way, he could not leave. Lifting his shoulders in a close impression of a shrug, the baby grizzly lumbered over to California’s luggage and skillfully unzipped the front pocket, finding the sardines he sought inside. Not bothering with the zipper lock, Gran simply tore open the package with his claws and padded back to his original position to eat. He sat down on his haunches with his improvised breakfast, staring at the Other World Kingdom as he ate.
Meanwhile, Landon had no idea where he had left the Cabernet Sauvignon. He scratched his head in confusion as he scoured the little pantry, not noticing that the bottles were at his feet. It was simply too dark in here and something in his occipital lobe wasn’t helping at all.
Occipital lobe? Had Patricia’s blow done something to his vision…?
Suddenly nervous, Landon retreated into the bathroom to see if the glass impact had left any other visible signs of damage. The path to the bathroom did not directly connect to the main room, so when he left, Patricia did not see him leave. He walked quickly into the bathroom and shut the door, staring perplexedly and worriedly into the mirror, looking for any more dangerous signs of damage.

When the Other World Kingdom retreated to the kitchen, Gran watched her leave. Growling softly to himself, he rose on his haunches and wandered off to hunt and do more bear things.
Suddenly Landon's phone buzzed. Momentarily distracted from his potential blindness, the West Coast state unlocked his phone with a quick swipe and read the text from... Georgia?... inviting them all to Massachusetts' beach party at Alabama's behest. An evil grin spread across his face as he read the first Post-Scriptum note. Landon first texted Christian back his response before dialing his number on the call function of the same incognito phone he had used to text Rutilio an apology. When Landon heard that first "Hello?" he let out a long Chewbacca wail that probably even Patricia and anyone near Christian heard. Before the other state could say anything, he promptly hung up.
"Hi, Christian! Do you even need to ask? Just say beach and you know I'm in! When's the party? I might be bringing a guest and a surfboard too! Just don't glue yourself to anything too badly, hear? Conjoined cannonballs suck, trust me. And thanks to that stupid micro-nation, I’m a little blind and I won't be able to dodge if you try." ~ Landon
Then, grinning, he sauntered out of the bathroom into the kitchen, where he found the Other World Kingdom cowering, probably from Gran. Remembering why she had come here in the first place, Landon groaned and doubled over dramatically, clutching his eye. "Jesus, Pat," he complained. "I think you're making me go blind in one eye..." Admittedly that wasn't too far off the mark since she had hit him in the back if the head. "How the heck am I supposed to cook if I can't see...? And not to mention I've got a party to go to too..." Moving as slowly as if it pained him, Landon straightened up and shuffled over to the stove to finish the rice porridge.

The Other World Kingdom ♀ Patricia Novak
Patricia was relieved when the bear wandered off to get food somewhere else. She chuckled softly to herself. I guess American bears are as stupid as their owners, she thought. But before she could make her move to escape, a terrifying growl type wail came from the other room. It sounded like it was coming from the area where Landon had headed. She started to head that way, but she soon heard him coming, and she headed back towards the entryway. When he accused her of causing his blindness, although she was quick to defend herself, her defense soon faltered.
"Inconceivable! I-I couldn't have! I mean... Impossible! It's just..." She paused, realizing that it was quite possible that she actually had caused his blindness. Her tone changed, sounding more annoyed, though slightly worried. She walked over to the stove and bumped him away, perhaps a little too forcefully, with her hip. "You can't be cooking when you're in this condition," She scolded him, taking over the cooking of the porridge. "And parties are definitely out of the question." She told him, shooting a glare his way to show him she was serious.

Landon smiled as Patricia bumped him away from the stove with her pert hips to take over the cooking, although he was careful not to let her see that. “Yes, I can,” he complained, picking himself up from his melodramatic fall to the ground. “You have no idea how to cook cháo, and I do! Just lemme finish this and we can get out to that party—“
Right about then, the micronation shot him a deadly glare that clearly said she wasn’t going to let him go anyway. Landon flinched, but held his ground. “Honestly, I have no idea why I haven’t shoved you out of the question yet,” he answered stubbornly. “You bash me over the head and possibly make me blind, and you’re the one who wants to keep me chained to my room and away from the beach? Screw you! It’s only a little dark in here anyways, but the party isn’t happening for many more hours. I’m going to whip up a little poultice and go anyway! It’ll be fine!” Stepping closer, the West Coast state shoved her out of the way with his hip and stirred the porridge a few more times, adding salt and pepper to taste. When it was done, he took it off the heat and divided it into first one bowl, and then two when he realized that he had made too much for himself as well. “For you, Pat,” he said bluntly, sliding the bowl of steaming Asian rice porridge over to her.

The Other World Kingdom ♀ Patricia Novak
Patricia rolled her eyes at the obviously overly dramatic fall. "I'm sure I can figure it out." She said in regards to the strange food she had decided to take over cooking. But when Landon shoved her out of the way in the same manner she had moved him, she didn't fight it. After all, she really didn't know how to make whatever it was.
She crossed her arms we he began to protest her ban on parties until he was healed. "I don't care who caused it, if you're possibly injured you are not going out. I may not have brought my chains this time, but if I need to, I will find another way to keep you away from this party." She pulled out her whip in one quick motion, cracking it about their heads. And she sounded completely serious about that.
She took the offered bowl and took a bite of it. She thought it tasted good, but she lied and said "It's gross. What is this crap?"

Landon almost puked when Patricia said that his dish tasted gross. What sort of a comment was that?! All it had was rice, broth, beef, and herbs! But before he could say anything, he noticed that she had cleaned her bowl. Swallowing his angry retort, the Californian smirked and pointed at it. “If it tastes so bad, then why did you finish it so fast?” he asked teasingly. “I think you like it at Cali!” he added, answering his question for her.
Hearing that evil whip again, though, caused an anime sweatdrop to roll its way down his forehead. But Landon was in a good mood after having called the micro-nation out on her bluff, and he continued on with his joke, ignoring the scare she had caused and twisting the obvious fact that she had caused his injury to advantage. “Aww, really? How sweet of you! You must really like me to hurt me and keep me here away with my fellow states, hmm?” Leaning forward and planting both his elbows on the table, Landon sat his chin in his hands and regarded Patricia with a winning smile.

"Because I'm starved." Patricia snapped. "And I think you're an idiot." She mumbled in response to his accusation.
She rolled her eyes once again as he exaggerated the fact that she had injured him. "Well would you rather me try to make sure you don't get better?! The only way your injuries are going to get better is if you let them! And going out to a party is not going to help you get better. So why don't you just accept my freakin' help while I'm offering it before I get to the point where I start using my whip." She stopped her little rant for a moment and let out a huge breath. "You know what. Just forget about it. Sorry for trying to be nice for a change. I won't do it again." She said, then started to storm out of the dorm room.

Landon was undeterred by Patricia's return accusation. "I think you're ly-ing~!" he said in a sing-song, poking her cheek playfully, forgetting for a moment that he was supposed to hate her. "And you wouldn't to hurt me anyway, would you? Even if you did hate me--which I highly doubt--you won't do anything to me until my usefulness for you goes away! Why weaken your work force?" the Westerner asked. "You haven't even hurt 'Bama yet!"
When the Other World Kingdom made to leave, though, Landon was speechless. Jeez, she was sensitive... Who would have expected it of the slaver~? "Hey, wait up," he called to her back. "Let's not be hasty. If I gotta wait in here for your injury on me to heal, I might as well wait it out with someone else... Even a sadistic slaver," he muttered lowly under his breath, not entirely sure if he even meant the last comment anymore. He did want to go to the beach and have some surfing fun, but Rutilio—his best surfing buddy--wherever he was, was likely hanging out with Georgia, doing gay things he would rather not watch, and he didn't know what his siblings were doing or where. Patricia was the only person he had to talk to at the moment, whether he liked it or not, and he rather preferred this side of her over the angry, glass-smashing version he'd seen yesterday. The Californian stood up and, after stuffing the dishes into the machine, sat down on the bed and swung his legs idly, watching Patricia dither at his door, wondering if she would stay or leave.
As he waited for he seemingly petrified (no doubt by his insatiably sunny cheer!), a sudden thought occurred to Landon. If Patricia refused to let him go to the beach party, why not use another beach lover to convince her--one who was much hotter and much easier to escape with? Smirking quickly so that the Other World Kingdom could not see, Landon sent a quick text to his other nation friend:
"Hi, Julie! Listen--GA and bros sent me a beach party invite + I rly want 2 go, but this evil micro wants to chain me 2 my dorm! Help me get rid her plz! Thnx" ~Landon

Landon snickered as he read Juliana's response. Flicking furtive eyes up to where Patricia stood at his door, he texted back an answer:
"Two words: Phonebook. K fine, that's rly 1. Whatcha caught n? Tourism? biggrin Either way, hurry up! She's got a whip! D: " ~ Landon
The Westerner had omitted the fact that she probably wouldn't use it soon for dramatic effect. Slipping his phone back in his pocket, Landon leaned back and propped his head on his hands, settling in to wait for either girl to respond.

The Other World Kingdom ♀ Patricia Novak
Patricia stopped just outside his door. The loser really didn't deserve another chance, but then again, after what she had done the last night it was the least she could do to come back when he asked. So she took a deep breath, forcing herself to calm down, before turning around and walking back into the dorm. "What? Do you want me here or not. Because if you're going to fight every little thing I try to do then there's no point in me even staying here, so make the decision now." She said in an icy cold voice.

Landon turned his head atop his interlaced fingers to Patricia, looking very much like the picture of relaxation. He definitely did not want to rest, but he wasn’t sure if using his aquatic healing spells with her around was a good idea. Even if she didn’t seem to want to collar him right now, her interest in him might increase in completely the wrong way if the Golden State revealed his magical prowess.
“Ya know, Pat,” he said airily, “there’s a really easy way to solve this: Why don’t we both go to the beach? That way, I can have my fun and you can make sure I don’t overexert myself. Half the time I’m on the beach, anyway, it’s for tanning and wave-floating.”
California did not mention that the other half of his beach visits were dominated by surfing as quickly and as vigorously as he and his competition could take.

Patricia paused, thinking about it for a moment. The way he worded it, it sounded reasonable. While she suspected he may have some sort of ulterior motive, she had no reason to deny him this one thing that he wanted. "Fine, but I'll be watching you, 'kay? You try anything and I'm dragging you right back to this dorm, you hear me?"

California barely heard the Other World Kingdom’s hollered threat, and if he did, he had little intention of hanging around in his room when there was beach fun to be had! No doubt Brazil felt the same way, and it was possible she would already be there by the time Patricia came back. The state quickly zipped his phone into the pockets of his shorts and maneuvered the surfboard out of his room. He looked around and found that Patricia had not returned yet.
Landon decided to leave his dorm, but loiter around in the hallway for a few moments for his grumpy companion to return. Technically, he wasn’t breaking her ultimatum, was he? When Gran lumbered back down the hallway with a mixture of river water and fish blood dripping from his jaws, the Westerner let him back into his dorm to sleep before resuming his impatient waiting.
