'Thoughts' "Telepathy" "Vocalized Speech" Post # 40 LEVEL UP
Level: 52 Moves: Atk: TM30 Shadow Ball/Atk: Psycho Cut/Atk: Barrier/Atk: Disable Ability: Pressure Trainer: None ***** "You continue to believe that. I prefer to err on the side of caution." It was a lame response to anyone who heard it and it bespoke of a paranoia and fear Mewtwo didn't enjoy admitting he was capable of feeling. ***** OOC: OH GOD THIS IS s**t. Not everyone can "hear" when Mewtwo's speaking telepathically as not everyone's sensitive to psychic phenomena. When he talks to someone personally a weak psionic link is formed between that person and himself. They'll "hear" him talking even if they don't know what he's saying. Over time it may turn into an actual telepathic connection that neither party involved will have complete control over at first. However this does NOT mean that EVERYONE he's spoken to will have this link and no, Joe Blow that just walked onto the scene WILL NOT know he's speaking right off the bat 9/10.

Dante shook his head frustratedly. Mewtwo was just too paranoid or too stubborn to realize that he was wrong. "You keep doing this, you're going to get both of us in trouble," the Gym Leader cautioned. "Can't you just trust me on this one?" Logic was clearly not going to work any longer here and he had no other methods for convincing the Legend. That simple fact alone was making Dante more annoyed than he probably needed to be, but the long day, coupled with the added burden of Belle, had greatly reduced the length of his fuse.
Before Mewtwo could respond, Dante heard Belle's voice from back off towards the campsite, calling for the two of them. She only managed a single shout before she shrieked again - likely Dahlia wrapping her tail around one of the girl's legs to trip her up - but it was enough to break up the argument. Dante had better things to do than lecture an obstinate cat. "We'll talk more about this later," he said to Mewtwo cooly. "And try to keep yourself out of other people's heads until then, alright?"

It's how telepathy works." Instead he joined Dante in the search for his wayward ward as Belle didn't have a lick of sense about how she shouldn't be moving around with a head injury at night. "How would you get in trouble for what I do?" That did honestly puzzle him and the answer might get his mind off of the cold anger he was still carrying. ***** Not everyone can "hear" when Mewtwo's speaking telepathically as not everyone's sensitive to psychic phenomena. When he talks to someone personally a weak psionic link is formed between that person and himself. They'll "hear" him talking even if they don't know what he's saying. Dante thought about ignoring the cat for half a moment before deciding to be mature about this. "It's all public perception," he said as they headed back towards the campsite. "If people find out that you're altering memories at will, and that I stood by and did nothing, I could very well lose my job. You're not my Pokemon, but people are going to act like you are." Not for the first time Dante half-wished that he'd just caught Mewtwo when he had the chance. It certainly would have made disciplining the Legendary easier - though on second thought, he'd likely be too mad at Dante to actually obey him when he was released. No, things are better this way - as problem filled as they are.

Dante gave Mewtwo a sideways glance, but said nothing else. He was sick of the argument and sick of the Legend's bullheaded stubbornness. The weariness that he'd been fighting off for the last hour had finally caught up with him and the Gym Leader merely wanted to find Belle and get some shuteye. They had another long day ahead of them tomorrow.
With Mewtwo's psychic abilities leading the way, it only took a second to locate the lost trainer. Within a few minutes, the group had returned to the brightly lit campsite, which was empty save for the snoring Max and an anxious-looking Dahlia. After checking with his Dragonair and warning her to keep watch, Dante sprawled himself out on the ground to rest. He would sleep hard tonight, of that he had no doubt.

"Early to bed, early to rise, makes a man healthy, wealthy and wise." Max said as he stretched his sore muscles. He bent back and cracked his back in multiple places. He looked around at the camp. Everyone was still asleep. Max had the sudden urge to go pee, and quickly found a bush a few yards away from camp to take a leak. Max had not brought any real food, so, on his way back from camp, Max pulled out an energy bar from his collection of snacks. "Breakfast time."

Belle awoke in the morning feeling somewhat groggy. She'd had to begrudgingly accept that she now didn't have anyone to do things for her, like help her get dressed if she was feeling tired, she couldn't do her full evening and morning routine and that no one would carry her around if she was feeling lazy - how the hell did people live like this? It was ridiculous, really, you'd think they'd be barbarians by now. She turned over to find a large brown eye staring at her, and squeaked involuntarily, doing a half-assed jump back, but couldn't do it normally because she was cocooned in a sleeping bag. Lily, assuming that this was a game, promptly pounced on her, making her roll over onto her stomach. "No - bad - Arceus, get off me!" She pulled her arms free of the sleeping bag, picking up the creature and setting her down. She sighed, getting herself out of the contraption while trying not to hit her head on the tent roof. The result was her stepping on Lily's tail and the Eevee shooting out of the tent like a rocket on steroids. Shaking her head and muttering an apology, she quickly changed in the tent, before emerging and looking warily around the campsite for the rest of her team. Lily was now cuddling with a disgruntled-looking Gabrielle and a content Lucius. Belladonna must have just popped up, because she was blinking rapidly and slightly unsteady on her feet. Angelina was, embarrassingly enough, confused by what her tail was doing, and was racing around in circles, trying to catch it. Belle averted her gaze, hoping no one else would notice that, either. Fangs sank lightly into her calf, and she cringed, shaking off the offender. It was Celisse, looking pleased with herself. "No. We don't do that." She smacked her gently on the nose, but the Charmander remained unfazed, and left to go and annoy Belladonna. Thanks to the rough ground Dante had been forced to sleep on, the gym leader had only been lightly asleep and the sound of the Eevee racing out of the tent was enough to rouse him from his slumber. He sat up, wincing from the soreness in his back. It's been too long since I've been out on a route, he thought as he rubbed the sore spots. He'd certainly need to acquire his camping gear sometime during the day, either by flying back to Genesia himself and leaving Belle in the company of Mewtwo, or by asking Rae to bring it out for him. The former option was more likely to succeed, in all honesty - Rae was nobody's servant, as she'd told him on more than one occasion. Or maybe Mewtwo would like to teleport back home and pick it up... he mused for a second. It would be worth a shot, at least.
Dante stood up slowly, rubbing Dahlia absently on her side to rouse the Dragon-type as well. "Morning sweetheart," he said as the serpent's shiny black eyes opened. "Sorry, but I don't have anything for you to eat right now. Can you wait for a little while?" Dahlia nodded, crooning softly and with a small sigh Dante recalled his Pokemon. He felt a little bad about making her wait when she'd been up all night, but he'd have to get back into Blyse first.
Meanwhile, it was time to find some food for himself. "Belle, you making breakfast?" he asked the girl trainer as she exited the tent. "You could use the practice."

Level: 52 Moves: Atk: TM30 Shadow Ball/Atk: Psycho Cut/Atk: Barrier/Atk: Disable Ability: Pressure Trainer: None ***** The noise of Belle and her Eevee rolling around the tent and over him woke him up and he pulled his illusion on full force before she clambered all over looking for clothes and stepping on his tail in the process. He settled for glaring at the tent wall as she quickly dressed and shot off after her wayward Pokemon. Belle had been happy to share her tent-space with him after she understood that Miato (she seemed completely unwilling to call him Mewtwo) would be discovered by Dante's friend in the morning because he was incapable of keeping his disguise up while sleeping. Technically he could but that would leave him fatigued and more likely to let the illusion flicker. Before finally falling asleep Mewtwo had made sure that Belle knew to call his illusion (a teenager with black hair and blue eyes) Marcus Holston and nothing else. It turned out he hated the idea of a nickname like Mark for a name that was already so short. He followed the goofy girl out and raised a hand to shield his eyes from the sunlight, the illusion appearing to already be dressed and ready for the day. Everyone else that made up the party was also awake. It might have been because he was a cat and felines were naturally nocturnal but he couldn't understand why anyone who didn't have to be up so early would be. "I don't trust her to cook anything unsupervised," Mewtwo, known for now as Marcus, "said" under his breath. ***** Not everyone can "hear" when Mewtwo's speaking telepathically as not everyone's sensitive to psychic phenomena. Belle blinked at tilted her head at the now-aroused Dante, who asked if she was going to cook breakfast, and she actually flinched at his words. What, no chefs? Oh, the horrors of the poor! She turned when she heard Marcus (such a weird name~) also emerge from the tent, but didn't catch what he said. She waved a little greeting to him, before turning back to the man. "Um, no. As 'fun' as it would have been to have had cooking lessons in Iclea, I do not know the craft." She was pretty sure that it involved stuff like keeping an eye on food, and her mind just tended to wander around a bit, so she didn't think that she was quite cut out for that sort of work. "Why don't we just go to a restaurant in Blyse?" she asked hopefully. She didn't want to eat out here, where bugs could easily land in or on the food, that was just gross. A slight whine drew her attention to Lily, whose fur was standing on end, and she looked rather surprised. "I - ********, Lucius! Don't ******** do that!" Belle screeched, swooping down and capturing the Eevee in her arms. The Shinx was unaffected, watching her curiously. She rolled her eyes, peering at Lily. "Y'alright, sweetie?" she asked. She didn't really get a reply other than the Pokemon shoving her nose into her neck. "Yep. Cute. Okay." She patted her back awkwardly. "You have a cold nose, you know that? No? Cool, cool. I'll just . . . I'll just stand here, then." Max enjoyed his suculent energy bar watching as the others sprouted from their slumber like flowers. He didn't pay much attention to the idle chit-chat until Belle asked a question about a restaurant. Max's stomach growled, since he was much hungrier than the energy bar could satisfy. "There's a great seafood place on the wharf near the battle cruise dock called Joe's Krabby Shack. " Max said recalling the succulent yet overpriced food that was served there. Luckily Max was rather rich. An elite four was a prestigious high paying job after all.

Belle jumped when she heard Max's voice. She hadn't even known he was up! Oh, Arceus, that was slightly creepy to think about. He could have been watching them, just sitting there . . . she shuddered to think about that particular thought. Instead, she steered her mind back to the conversation at hand, nose already wrinkling. "I don't eat seafood. It's disgusting, and who the hell eats it for breakfast?" Besides, 'Joe's Krabby Shack'? It sounded like some poor man had stuck a half-assed building on a dock and came up with the first thing he could think of as a name. No self-respecting restaurant included the owner's name (unless it was the last name) along with a Pokemon name and an unpleasant, distrustful word for a 'house' like shack. She'd rather be skinned alive than go there! Ugh. These people didn't understand anything about class. "We are NOT going to a restaurant," Dante said, giving Belle a hard look. "There are a lot of places along your journey where you'll be too far away from cities to get food there and you're going to need to know how to make it yourself. It's a survival skill, and we'd better practice it now." He flicked a glare Max's way as well - the Elite Four trainer should have known better than to give Belle the easy way out.
"I'll be helping you, so this shouldn't be too hard," Dante continued. "First, let's get some water boiling. You've got a Charmander, so that shouldn't be a problem at all." I hope.

A tuft of smoke and a spark of fire grew after several short seconds of concentration. He didn't trust Belle's Charmander not to set fire to something accidentally but he didn't feel the need to inform anyone of that fact. He turned, still well hidden beneath his illusion, towards the woods. Directing his telepathic voice into Dante's mind he informed the man that he wouldn't be eating anything of theirs today. It was better than waiting on the inevitable smell of burning food. He could easily find whatever he wanted without depleting whatever food stores the humans were carrying with them. He headed for the treeline and began searching for berries.
