Like that, it was over, and with the shrieks and giggles floating in from behind him, Jack made his way to the exit of the Carnival tent, his mood in a greater way than it was when they had started. Peering over his shoulder to see if he was being stared at, he left one ear swivelled, listening to all that the teacher had to say. It wasn’t long for him to notice the tiny figure of Tomoko, trying to hide herself behind another student - he attempted to soothe her by trying to murmur softly that there would not be anything wrong, but felt a little overwhelmed by all the people there.

Turning back, Jack came face to face with the human, who looked so . . . serene about everything. It was all right with her and she seemed not too phased about everything. Clearing his voice, he tilted his head a little. “Have you always been this way, always able to see us? Is it like a sensation thing that came?” He called out, his questions barely louder than the others who could hear him.

Zar followed the group into the other room curiously, expecting that was all and they were on their way home. He raised a brow at the woman suspiciously, surprised to see anyone who could see them at all and for some reason, despite his full suit and tie, feeling somehow underdressed as a result. He wrapped his tail about his hooves and frowned.

"Erm. Hello..Ma'am?"

He shuffled uncertainly. His thoughts hadn't gone to hunters as many people's seemed to have, still in complete denial that these hunters existed at all.

"There's nothing to be afraid of," a female voice rang out behind the fortune teller. With everyone's attention on the human, the shadows at the back of the tent had coalesced into tattered cloth, hiding the slight form of a Grim Reaper. Only her pale face and fingers were visible underneath the heavy robes and hood. Rather than a stern look, she seemed at ease, even smiling. "This human is not dangerous. You can relax, really."

As if to make a point, the Reaper swept forward and shook hands with the fortune teller as if she was an old friend. "It's good to see you again! I haven't had a chance to stop by in some time."

The accusation of 'Hunter' still hung in the air, and it seemed to make the Reaper uncomfortable. But for whom? "I apologize for the scarelings, dear, you're the first.... real human they've met."

Though he didn't say a word, the presence of the Tlahuelpuchi was fairly obvious. He hung slightly behind the Reaper, heavy scarf pulled up to his ears, frowning judgmentally at all of the students within his immediate vicinity. It wasn't the feeling of his pained stare that gave him away, however; despite clearly wanting to just dissolve in the shadow of the Reaper, he was faintly glowing from every visible inch of skin.

There was a glimmer of a pleasant expression when he glanced at the fortune teller, his eyes softening, souring again as he fixated on a student with particularly a ignorant question. How unfathomably easy it would be to fix that incorrect assumption...but the sad little scareling probably wouldn't get it anyway.

Consider the uneasy looks and tension she was getting, the single Human occupant in the room seemed at ease, less a glass figure, and more of a supporting presence. She turned slightly at the two new visitors to the tent, a wide smile spread across her features. "It is always nice to hear back from you, old friend, I hope things are going fine for you two in Halloween." Her motions were slow, deliberate, as to not set any of the more jumpy students into a further state of alarm as she nodded at the Professor. "If I remember correctly, these two here are actually graduates from the same school as these new students?"

< That is correct. > Professor QB replied almost immediately afterward, voice projecting clearly to all students. < Halloweeners like Vanth and Argyle are the reason there is still balance between Halloween and the Human World. One of you asked me why it is that there are humans who can see us, when it has been claimed for so long they had no such ability. It is because the more a Human is exposed to Fear, our Fear, the Fear around them, the more they begin to recognize and see it for what it is. This is why we do not linger in the Human World for too long, or risk over-exposure to Humans. Humans are like us in many ways, as we are to them. They do not always make the right decisions, as power often falls in the wrong hands. >

The professor paused, letting the information sink in to the students. < Vanth. Argyle. Now that you are here, I think this is a good time to explain to the students what exactly you do! >

SUMMARY SO FAR

Professor QB's classroom seminar involves bringing students to a closed, safe Human environment to learn how to scare Humans, and how scaring Humans work. He explains that Humans cannot actually see Halloweeners and must instead, use the environment to their advantage. At the end of the exercise, he introduces two new Halloween citizens, Vanth and Argyle, who seem to sympathize as well with Humans, though the true surprise is that there is a Human in the tent with them that can see Halloweeners and is not a Hunter but instead, seems to respect Halloween as a whole.

Vaith thought the fortune color and the graduate students was pretty cool. If Professor QB said she was safe, obviously, they were safe.

He folded his hands behind his head. "This is amazing."

Vaith stared at the fortune teller's calm demeanor, admiring how she reacted in a room full of vast halloween students. Maybe she had experienced far worse?

Shehk listened to Professor QB's explanation as to what was happening, looking to the two new strangers with a slight look of distrust. Adults were...hard to trust sometimes as of late, sadly. However, outside of that slight furrow of her brow, the only other sign of nerves in the ghoul was the tightening of her fingers against Jericho's sleeve.

"That makes sense, but it seems like either that rule is broken or we tend to appear in the same areas to allow an overexposure to happen as often as it seems to....."

----

Tomoko continued to cower behind Junko, clutching her ball of stars and cradling it gently before looking to the two new strangers with wide eyes, 'meep'ing quietly. Sure this was supposed to calm her nerves, but...

it all seemed to be really complicated too. That was really puzzling to her, sadly. Overexposures? These graduates?

Whattttt??

----

As it stood, Sura really didn't give a s**t about humans and overexposure. Humans had a tendency to not run into Colossus, after all. The graduated students also didn't garner much care, but she looked to them anyways, if simply to see what their purpose in being there was about.

Maybe she'd learn something....

Mitsu ears perked again as another presence appeared. Actually two for that matter. Her gaze traveled from the fortune teller who had her fascinated to these two new reapers who seemed to greet the woman as if they had known each other a long long time.

There were multiple questions circling in Mitsu's head at the moment but instead of voicing them she stood silent waiting patiently and respectfully for the reaper's to explain their job. Was it odd she was as at ease as she was? The human didn't particularly bother her, at least not now. She didn't give off an air of ill intent. The reapers had a far more unpleasant air about them, especially the second who kept staring daggers at some of her fellow students.

Remaining still in his shadowy corner, Bul did the opposite of what he was thinking and remained dead silent and hidden. Mentally he was confused, outraged, and curious creating a fury of emotions that would be detrimental to his hiding should he let them vocalize. No, instead he kept back, tail wrapped close to himself and bent down on his fours.

Eventually it settled enough to where Bul kinda crawled forwards and relaxed in a seated position looking up at the three strangers in awe.

"Graduates?" Bul piped up curiously to the two Halloween alumni the human spoke of. Now here's where things were more interesting! The only sort of alumni he'd met were the heirs.. not regular denizens of Halloween! "That's awesome, what class?" he asked charmingly.

Jericho stared between the professor to the two reapers that showed themselves now. It didn't make sense to him. Every alarm in his brain was still shouting to not trust this human. He knew that not all humans were out to kill them. He knew the hunters weren't like how they all were. But for some reason, he couldn't believe someone to have the ability of the hunters and not have an issue with them.

It was likely because of his.. affliction.

----

Shun relaxed a little more now. Though he was still cautious, he was rather curious of this situation at this point. The reaper always had an interest in the human world in general, after all. He quietly placed his hands into his pockets, examining the three strangers in the room. It was at the very least, admirable that the human could see them on a more.. level manner.

As far as over exposure went, he thought it over.

"It does seem.. almost paradoxical," he commented, going along with what Shehk said.

"Thank you, Professor." She finally had to tear herself away from the small talk. Vanth cleared her throat in a tiny 'a-hem' and smiled brightly at QB's class. "Hello, students. Argyle and I are representatives of D.E.T.H., the Denizens for the Ethical Treatment of Humans. It's our job to promote safe scaring in both Halloween and the Human World. That way, nobody gets hurt! Humans like our friend here are usually happy to provide or even create scaring grounds for us, but this wouldn't be possible if we didn't maintain good relations with the humans aware of us. And as for you students, we try to stress the importance of scaring humanely."

"When a Halloweener scares, they produce safe, renewable FEAR. This is what your Professor has taught you to do, and what a wonderful job you all did! None of the humans you scared tonight will come back, searching for signs that the scary things they saw were real. That is how scaring should be."

Now she had to explain what other scaring there was, and some nervous gestures crept into the way she explained. "When a Halloweener hurts a human, it produces a lot of FEAR but also gives humans a reason to fight back. When they see us too much, when they realize we are real, and when we cause them real harm, it's only natural that they will want to protect themselves. We are alike in that way, as well. Remember some of your initial reactions to our human hostess?"

"And should any Halloweener forsake scaring entirely and kill humans... well, Amityville must know better than anyone what the Hunters are, and why they hunt." She seemed solemn for a moment, fixing her gaze on her feet, wherever they were in the mass of shadowy fabric. "Our kind doesn't always make the right decisions either."

"Anyway," she seemed to perk up at her next point of interest, "We'll be at Amityville for a few weeks, and we'll be happy to help you in any way we can! Right, Argyle?"

!!!!!!!!!!

Shehk recoiled at mention of the Hunters. The last adults that Hunters had been mentioned to had.... hazed them in the paper and acted like such things didn't exist. It had been awful and they'd all been stigmatized for it. She wasn't willing to trust adults who mentioned them so easily not when they hadn't stood up when the s**t hit the fan months ago.

However, outside of her uneasy feelings, she didn't say anything, just burying her face into Jericho's shoulder.

Everything told her she should trust them and what they were doing - what with setting up the 'safe' scaring habitats and the like. That seemed..logical to her, even. It wasn't that she didn't stand for what they believed in, it was that... well, she didn't really didn't like the idea that the adults had made their school a scapegoat. A needless scapegoat.

And Slandered Red's name in the name of politics.

---

Tomoko practically lit up at the explanation that was being given about DETH, though she did make a point to keep her Ball of Stars away from the human woman as she seemed to inch closer to the two new strangers and listen to their every word.

It was beautiful.

Fabulous.

They might have just given Tomoko a goal for the future right then. No really, it sounded like everything she wanted out of life right there. She wasn't good at being malicious, but doing stuff like she had in the room back then underneath safe circumstances?

She could do that.

The two DETH reps might have just gained a stalker. A stalker of awe and wonder.

----

That..sounded to make sense to Sura. Why did they have to have..an organization...to determine that, however? She didn't understand that, but she did feel like she'd learned something for coming out into this little..venture of sorts.

She was actually kind of glad she'd come to it. Yes, she was, actually. Perhaps she could seek..more information from these two individuals about her own particular search for information. If they had any. Because she needed to know everything.

Ashford had not really gotten a chance to scare anyone, paralyzed by unease in the closet Thackery had pulled them into. The mood wasn't really improved by the presence of a human-- his hand was clasped so tight in Thackery's, wary of the human and these new people.

They are lying to you, you know, they want us to cavort with the humans, it is us against the rest, all of themallofthem-

He looked straight at the fortune teller, his helm heavy on his shoulders. Ash was oblivious to what a hunter was, but still. He was not 100% buying perfect world argument, here.

There had to be a flaw.

Here they were, trying to enrich all of their lives with something important and good, and someone was asking about how old they were or graduating or something nobody cared about because human fetuses were probably being eaten without their consent somewhere hundreds of miles away. There was a totally depressing lack of proper prioritization here.

He pinched the bridge of his nose and tried to be civil, speaking through clenched teeth. As his frustration grew, the dull glow of his skin seemed to get a little brighter.

"I guess if 'years' are important to you, somewhere around sixty Octobers ago, back when Amityville was-" No, none of that; he'd assured Van that he would actually give it a good shot this time.

"Right, Van. Right." After a hissing exhale through his teeth, he continued. "That reaction some of you had to such a transcendently beautiful human was just..." He looked extremely disgusted again - enough for the closer students to rightfully worry that he might just throw up on them from all of the sheer awful in his presence. "Making such unfounded senationalistic assumptions about humans will just get you into vicious cycles. You'll lose yourself in the ever-blackening abyss of hurting humans that scare you because they're scared of you and we have to break that cycle somewhere."

That seemed like a properly impressive thing to say. He tried to hide a hopeful glance toward the woman, but hiding anything was a little bit difficult when you were glowing like a Madow.

"Um... Question!" Lizzy liked the idea of not having to fight; she liked it a lot because it meant that nobody - her friends, herself - will ever need to get hurt again, since all they'll need to do is scare humans rather than hurt them. All in all, what they said made complete sense; if the hunters hadn't tried to hurt them first, she wouldn't be trying to fight back.

Maybe the hunters were hurt by them first, that's why they're fighting?

"Do the humans have an organization to protect us?" She asked, looking uncertain; the fact that SEEDs was dealing with something big made her worry even more than usual, since they were going against the whole 'DETH' thing, "We have DETH, but do they have someone, other than this lady over here-" She cast a (wary) glance at the human with the professor, "-to tell the... Uh, more aggressive humans to stop hurting us?"

She had tried that before, back at the Haunted House. Told the hunters that 'we fight back because you were trying to capture us', but that didn't work...
