xxxxxVentes felt...... weird. Like he was moving, but, he knew for a fact he wasn't. He was in bed. Just to check he slowly opened his eyes, only to be introduced to a unnaturally bright light. He felt his hair moving from a powerful wind, and instantly knew something wasn't right. There couldn't be wind in his room. It was in an apartment building, he didn't own a fan, and he never left the windows open at night. He forced his eyes open, despite the pain from the sun that blared in front of him. His clothes were moving up, or, well, waving, to the front of him. His eyes widened and he started twisting his body around. He mad a single jerking movement and was now facing towards the ground. He squinted his eyes and he could distinguish the roofs of buildings. But, there were people out. No one was out in the Canadian lands anymore, for fear of being caught up by a demon spawn, or by penetrating Catholics. "What the hell is going-Peh! Bug!" It was difficult, but Ventes managed to put his hands together and a wind shield began forming. 'It's not gonna come up soon enough. This wind is too strong' He thought to himself, as he came close to impact. Upon impact, the concrete ground was cracked and sent high up into the air. The impact caused a large windy shock wave as well as a slight tremor.

xxxxxVentes winced as he forced himself to stand up. He heard a ringing sound and quickly dashed to his left; just in time too. His Katana was now sticking out of the ground, exactly where he had been standing. Ventes tried to lift both arms to grip the handle and pull his sword from the cracked impact crater, but he could barely move his left arm, and it hurt immensely when he tried to move it. He growled in frustration and gripped the hilt of the Katana with his right hand. Using his wind powers to make removing the sword easier, he puled the sword from the ground with easy. Ventes carefully examined it before putting it in the sheath on his back. He looked around and noticed that there were human like creatures walking aimlessly through the streets. Though, now that he had crashed, they were focused on him, and quickly started walking, stumbling, and crawling towards him. Ventes gritted his teeth and un-sheathed his sword. He held it firmly in his right hand, and switched it to the back handed position. Forgetting, his left arm was useless, he tried to move it into a guarding position, but winced at the pain. "This is definitely, not, Canada." He said to himself.

Bartholomew poked his head out of the kitchen and looked back at her. "Hi there then, Tora! Nope, no mechanics, although I am pretty handy with some tools myself." He said, finishing up his stirring and returning to the group. "I have some auto parts down in the garage, but I'm afraid that that area is not secure. We also have stuff around here, but I need it to run this place. Did you try the scrapyard?" He asked, noticing that she visibly did not like the other two. "I tell you what. Have dinner, and then I will go out and see if I can help. Horatio can watch the place." As if on cue, the black cat wandered behind Bartholomew, and upon hearing it's name, peeked out from between his legs. Picking the cat up, he placed it on his shoulder, and smiled.

"We haven't been nice in asking, you haven't been nice in not-answering. It's a cycle." Verra curled his lip towards Sydelle in some mockery of a smile. "Like your menstrual cycle. With jussst as much bitchiness." He might have been pushing it there, but ******** if he didn't want to see this chilly chica lose her cool.

He was relieved, on the other hand, when the man finally took notice of Tora's apparent urgency. He didn't like the tensing of her shoulders, the clenching of her hands; it spelled out either an outburst or a fight, or both, and Verra didn't want to end up down a few potential companions just because they bickered among themselves.

The alien turned to face Tora and winked, tongue flicking out. "There now, a ssscrapyard, I'm sssure you'll find sssomething sssalvageable." He raised his nose into the air, sniffing at it. "But I do believe that it would be rude to turn down this graciousss offer to dinner, don't you?"

As the group moved wearily towards the kitchen, Verra sidled up to Tora, mumbled a quick, "Verra," and offered a petulant little bow.

Now, if Tora wasn't so annoyed, the menstrual comment would have sent her laughing... ah, but that was for another time.

Hearing that there was nothing there for her, she nearly walked out once more. If there was nothing there then she didn't need to stay. Ziggy was waiting and she needed to get back to him. he was probably hurt... their crew, she knew, had to be hurt. Not many were as tough skinned as the two were, but then again... maybe food wuoldn't be such a bad idea. How long had it been since they had had anything to eat? Tora almost touched her stomach, feeling how concave it had become in the last few days. So maybe food was a good idea. Still, she merely nodded. "Fine. I merely need assistance in getting the items. I can fix the ship, I just don't have the means."

Insulted? Almost. Tora was the ship's mechanic. She was damn good at her job and few on her ship could do what she could do. But that's what happened when a person preferred the ship to people.. Or cats. She did like cats. Hell, the cat within reach almost had her smiling. Such pretty things... but there were people around. No need to show that. Especially to the blonde b***h. (God, I feel awful to keep referring to your character like that D= )

Sighing softly, Tora slowly began to calm down before she looked at the alien, raising a brow. Verra... well, that was a better name than Gray or Scales... She did nod, however. But her nerves were still tense, too high from the wasted time. Cig in hand, it took rested between her lips, a flick of her hand lighting it. Ah... much better.

Sydelle West

You're not a hero, you're a liar...

Had Sydelle, like many of her gender, taken insults to heart... or even care about them, she most likely would have been terribly offended. As it was, she was fully aware that she was a b***h. She reveled in it. "Bitchiness." She said with a smile. "So you can use words with 3 syllables. I was beginning to doubt." His overall intelligence was still in question. His emotions seemed to hold the steering wheel in that strange little head of his.

...you're not a savior, you're a vampire.

"Ah!, why did you have to go and yell and draw attention to yourself!" Tina complained setting down Kary. "Hey girly, want to you use my axe? I noticed you eying it a little bit ago." she commented slamming it down tip first. "You can pull it out, you can use it for this fight!" Tina challenged rushing off into the mob of the undead grabbing one by the back of the neck and throwing it aside like a stone. "HA! Get it! 'DEAD WEIGHT!'" Tina joked rushing into the center of them; "Hey! You want a piece of this! Good luck! You;d break your teeth!" she taunted pulling aggression toward her and away from the crazy girl.

"Eagle eye function restored! Thank you Aunt Elle, for the nano machines." Desirae thought as she ran off toward the speedy figure. Leaping from roof to roof, she was getting closer. This thing was just about as big as the brute. "Just what is it I'm about to see?" she asked nearing a circle of buildings with what looked like giant spider webs covering it all.

Skidding to a halt, she ducked down behind giant air conditioning units and peered around to see the giant creature wrapping up live humans. "Just like a spider?" she thought as she looked from the human to the undead creature. It stood a little shorter than a brute. It had eight giant insect-like legs and a body of a spider. The head was the top half of one of the undead but its arms...they were giant metal blades. "Are these things..." Desirae's thought was cut short when the spider jumped in her direction. "Aw come on! Stealth is supposed to be something I'm good at!" she complained rushing back to meet with Tina, the spider hot on her heels.

Kary, taking note of the surrounding mob, whipped out her axes, ready to lay some hurt on the zombies.
One came close, practically jumping on her, but she dodged its teeth and let it taste the blade of an axe instead, as she chopped the head clean in half. She shuddered at the sight for a moment before killing another one. A third moved close, and she smacked it with the flat end of an axe, making it back away as she leaped onto it, digging her weapons into its chest and ripping through it like cats on a curtain. She spotted a fourth trying to close in on her, and deftly flung both axes at it, the weapons sinking into the flesh as one hit the head and the other stuck in its shoulder, before whipping out her pistol and firing off a bullet, exploding the stomach. She put the gun away and retrieved her axes.
She then put her own two away before pulling Tina's axe out of the ground. It was kinda heavy, but seemed easy to swing. Continuing the onslaught, Kary leaped at another, positioning the axe in front of her and somersaulting at the zombie, becoming a human saw of sorts. The axe split the zombie in half, and she was surprised at how clean it could cut. "Oh, I'm likin' this Tina!" she exclaimed, giving a malicious grin before whipping around and severing three other zombies in half, their bodies falling to the ground while the legs just walked around a bit before falling as well.
She rolled up to the girl with the meat cleaver. "So what's your name? And what's with the zombie pulling?" she asked rather bluntly. "I only ask since it's strange to drag something that could kill you," she shot another zombie in the head with a bullet. "so to say."

"Come on! Its like a punching bag! Where is the fun of the fight?!" Tina complained grabbing one by the arm and swinging it into another one knocking a group of them down. Grabbing two of them by the head she slammed them together and popped open their skulls, splattering their brains against the other. "Oh gross, their more...delicate than I thought." Tina kept joking and fighting. "Is there no end?! Not like I want one, I mean this is turning out to be fun!"

Hurdling down to the streets hoping the narrow paths and alleys would slow it down, Desirae continued to try to get to Tina. "Oh wait until you see this gross thing, Tina!" Desirae yelled excited jumping over a pile up of cars and sliding to a stop to look back. "It jumped at me earlier. I doubt it can't..." she was stopped in her sentence when the beast slashed the pile of cars in half and pushing it all aside like it was paper. Wide eyed Desirae took off running again.

The creature quickly crept up on her and swung it huge blade down ward. Desirae, caught on and flipped backward toward the main body of the beast. "Damn it! Wrong way!" she exclaimed as a giant leg smacked her into a car, smashing the doors and shattering the glass. "That hurt..."

"I didn't think you'd get the hang of that axe so quickly!" Tina admired with a zombie in her hand. Taking a baseball pitchers pose on the mount. "Hey, see if you can hit this outta the park!" she challenged as she pitched the zombie by its head.

From his position at the bottom of the tree house, Noah was shocked to hear barking from above. Holy hell, how did they get the dog up there? He thought with a startled chuckle. He was losing his cool from the uncertainty of the dark forest, jumping from a dog bark. Noah looked up after quickly composing himself. A door opened, bleeding light onto the ground where he stood. Used to the darkness, Noah found it difficult to make out details of the person that walked out from the opened doorway. He lifted his left hand to cover his eyes and squinted up. Noel flew away at the movement and circled above him.

The tree house’s inhabitant appeared feminine, that much he knew for sure. She gave a small wave after a pause where they both affirmed there was no danger from one another, at least which was his hope. Noah needed the sanction of her shelter, but wouldn’t mind a bit of company to share with Noel. A warm place to sleep and eat would be much obliged as well. Noah gave a quick smile in hopes of seeming friendlier. "Good evening, miss. I'm sorry to spook your dog and disturb you. My name is Noah, and I am in need of a place for the night," he said with the air of an apology, but little other expression. Noel chirped a few notes, and Noah added, "And so does my friend, Noel. I hope you don't mind birds. No creature deserves to be left out to the infected." Noel sang in agreement and flew up to introduce herself further to the girl living in the tree house.
He could not see the message that flamed in the sky from below the trees, which blocked the sound as well. He focus was on the girl.

A small smile came upon Courtney's face. She wouldn't mind the company of another human being. She nodded. "Oh it's okay. My dogs a wimp, he's easily frightened. But of coarse. I have an extra room you and your friend can stay in. I wont mind a bird. I love all animals." She began to step down the stairs to the ground. She walked over to him. "I'm Courtney by the way. Why you come and I'll show you around." She said with a warm smile. She was longing for someone to talk to so she was eager to know about this Noah.

"Surprised me too!" Kary exclaimed. She replied in kind to Tina's last comment, turning the axe so that she'd hit the zombie with the flat end, as she took up a batter's stance. Once the zombie was in range, she gave it a good whack, sending it skyward a good distance. It landed on the various rooves of the builings surrounding them. "Not quite, but it's out of our hair."
She was caught by surprise when she noticed a zombie holding a rather crude club. She cocked her head, unsure why it had a weapon, but swiftly chopped its hands off and then severed its knees. It was still coming for her, so she split its skull in half, bringing the axe down rather hard. Oh...great, Kary unfortunately dug the weapon into the ground, and had to pull it out a second time, eventually freeing it and slamming it into a zombie from the momentum. When she ent to free it, the zombie seemed stuck to the blade. It weirded her out, but she shrugged and continued whacking it into other zombies.

xxxxxUsing his wind to speed up the movement speed of his arm and sword, Ventes jumped forward and slashed downward, cutting the nearest zombie in half. Slowly, even as he moved, the zombies followed him; always knowing exactly where he was. As he ran deeper into the city he slashed at the zombies, usually cutting them in half, whether it was vertically or horizontally, he didn't care; it meant they couldn't follow him anymore. As he ran along, hacking and slashing away, Ventes realized that most if not all of the buildings, were in perfect condition. There was nowhere on Earth that he was aware of, where all the buildings were in such amazing condition. Where was he? He pushed the thought that he was no longer on earth to the back of his mind and focused on killing things.

xxxxxAs Ventes' right arm got tired he jumped high up into the air, using the wind to glide onto the top of a building. He sheathed his sword and started feeling his left arm, trying to find exactly where it was broken. As he felt at the bones, he realized his arm wasn't broken; just dislocated. He put his hand on his shoulder and pushed in, but it didn't pop back into place. Ventes looked to the ground and winced at the thought of what he was about to do. Ventes jumped in the air and slammed his shoulder into the ground. There was a nasty, popping sound, and an aching pain in his shoulder. When he stood up, the ache was starting to go away, but was replaced with a fuzzy numb feeling. Soon the numbness in his arm went away, and he was able to move it again; it hurt to do so, but at least he was able to. Ventes popped his neck and started off in a run again, jumping form one roof to another.

xxxxxAs Ventes was jumping roofs, he started to hear the sound of metal grating metal. At first, it was very quiet, but as he moved a long, it got louder. Sensing that something wasn't at all right, Ventes grabbed his sword in his right hand, and unsheathed it; quickly flipping to the back handed position. Ventes looked down to the street below on the left, and saw nothing but the undead. But when he looked down to the right, he saw a gigantic spider thing, attacking a girl. Ventes jumped onto the hand rail that kept people from falling off the edge of the building and jumped off with amazing speed. When Ventes hit the ground, he barely managed to stay on his feet, and slid about twenty feet. When he stopped sliding, he was between the girl and the spider. Ventes raised the Katana in his right hand and grabbed into his right wrist with his left hand, to give it more support in case the spider attacked. "Try me." He said to the spider, challenging it, not knowing it wasn't a Demon Spawn, or sentient.

[[OoC: Hope it's alright to just jump in right here ^_^']]

It had been an ordinary day in soul society when Solstice woke this morning. She left the barracks and went straight to the main floor for a chance at breakfast in the cafe. She was often too late to compete with the traffic for warm toast or perfectly baked sausage links. Unfortunately whats left for those that aren't in the early rush is either too meager to fill or too unpleasant to eye ball let alone put on your plate. The catering service was a perk elected in to the barracks a few captains back, before Solstice was even interested in the academy, hell it might have even been before she died. She really didn't spend much time fretting about those days. Sure back in the day when she was just a roaming soul it crossed her mind all the time. But as days trekked on she began to realize the reality of her situation. She's no longer alive. So what. Life was just a word defined by the living. She managed to get in the crowd of people to line for catering. However upon entrance to the mob she realized what properties it shared with a mosh pit. Crazed squad members, she even spotted a few strays, she rolled her eyes to be fisted in the back of her ribs, her bright eyes narrowly flickered to the side and she picked up her sword fully sheathed she swung mightily into the offenders core. He fell back and in the moment of chaos from it's strike, she managed to grab some food right as it was placed on the table and fled away to eat before any more confrontation could be endured.

She sat outside munching, then returned the plate and went on her way to get her assignment of the day. As she pushed open the heavy mahogany doors into the vice captains office she seamed to have simultaneously answered someone near by's dilemma. Inside her vice captain, and the representative of the thirteenth division were gathered. Solstice was briefed about a few things that according to the twelfth division were all streaming into each other. They were looking for people to monitor the world of the living, when the readings began weeks ago they sent various officers from the sentinels but communication was lost. After she was given the details of her mission she left the office and went to the senkaimon with her mission slip out. As she walked through into the dark clouds of the human's realm her hazel eyes looked out into the land surrounding her. Miles onward was dark traces of the world she had remembered seeing the last time she was here; it was on a mission a few months ago, chasing some rogue that has run off from her division. It wasn't a very happy mission, regardless that memory held more beauty than the barren waste she gazed into now. She lightly stepped out of the sky and touched the ground lightly with the toe of her suade boots. Now to find someone that's been here.

Xavier felt Coraline's posture stiffen next to him. The axe was raised. As confused as he was by all the man was saying, he was still a bit taken aback at being insulted, not only about his gun, but about everything else.

"The year is 2012." Xavier said to the man. "So that's what that explosion was? I thought it was the army as well." He said, more to Coraline than the man. "Look, I don't know who you are, or more the matter, what the hell you are, but we're having a difficult enough time trying to survive." Xavier said. "Now, if how we are doing so isn't good enough for you, you can leave. But, if you feel you can help us as much as we can help you, then feel free to stay. Otherwise, I can guarantee some of us won't make it till the morning."

Xavier then picks up his binoculars and heads to the side of the apartment, peering through them at the treehouse. There were now two people, one appeared to be a boy. The girl was leaving the tree and going down to greet him. They must not have seen the signal. "Damn." Xavier mumbled to himself.
