Algie was attentive to the Medusa, despite his sour attitude, but he was much happier to be clasped onto by Merci. He sipped the alien beer again and felt the alcohol warmth rise in his belly. "Mmm this is lovely.." He tightened his arm on hers when she questioned him on Hela.
"Oh she's fine. You know her. In fact she had the pleasure of meeting Nephrite and Amon. She's smitten with both of them though you can imagine in different ways. And she's glued to that bloody cell phone of hers..." He shook his head. "With the texting and the twattering nonsense." He had no idea what the real word was but 'twattering' was pretty amusing. "I think she may be done growing which officially makes her a woman but she won't be leaving any time soon."
Bloo seemed to be lazily surveying the room. Most of the commotion had calmed down so he was looking for anyone he knew and had not yet greeted. The wisp soon found his way to Rukurai. Though the other had grown, Bloo knew exactly who he was. He spun towards the firey fiend with delight.

“I wholeheartedly agree with you on that,” Amon remarked darkly, albeit he quirked a curious brow at the mention of ‘orgies’. “A kid is about the last thing I’d need around in my line of work.” He had taken certain precautions as to not accidentally father any offspring, so Nephrite entering his life had been … turning things upside down. Even with her spending a great deal of with Athan at the shop he hadn’t been able to work his previous schedules, or to make the kind of money he’d made before.
“I’m an escort,” he added eventually, offering somewhat of a vague explanation as to why having a kid around would be so bothersome, and shrugged. “She’s a sweet girl though,” he added, and looked for Nephrite again who did not appear to have heard him. Or she was simply ignoring him, which was also possible. ‘Neph?’ he tried again. Catching the irritated glance Mystic shot him, Amon couldn’t help but shiver involuntarily. He really wished Reyna’s soul-bond hadn’t shown up, no matter how delighted she seemed to be about it.
“Car’s fairly big,” he said to the medusa reassuringly. “If there’s no one else staying, you’ll have the back seat all for yourself.”

"Will do." Anais gave the Captain a small salute and took her first sip of the intriguing drink. It was sweet, very sweet. Like one of those toxic, colourful concoctions you drank in dance clubs because they were the cheapest drinks. "Oh wow, that's pungent." She held it up and squinted at the indecipherable writing.
Miranda's excitement amused her, and it was clear that the drink was going straight to her head. It would be cool though, she imagined, to ride in a space ship. "Honey I'd take it easy with this stuff. I think it's stronger than it seems." She advises, then turned her attention back to Rhys. "What alcohol percentage does this stuff have?"

The teenager didn't give up his spot, he was actually quite thrilled to be around Athan. Merci was terrified of the man, which amused the fiend to no end. It was part of the reason she hadn't come over and said anything to him. Delight practically rolled off him in waves. 'It's going okay actually! Though, I think I've been a bit to literal in my approach. Science can't explain what I do, so I figured I'd do more studying on the less sciency stuff. Is sciency a word? I don't think it is...' He paused a moment to consider before he continued. 'I'm going to have to get more books. Maybe one day I'll have enough that I rival you Mister Athan man.. Ooo or Algie! He has a lot too.'
Dio's tail was twitching back and forth with enough enthusiasm that the dangly piercing that hung from it twinkled a bit when it caught the light. He turned his head and nuzzled closer into Athan's neck. 'You should let me come look at your books sometime. I have something else I need to do some studying about. Merci says I can't buy more then a couple books a month now, so I couldn't possibly get information fast enough. If you let me look at your books it would be better, and she would be less grumpy.' His burgundy eye rolled toward his guardian. She'd had a hard night, but Dio couldn't let this opportunity pass him up. After all Athan needed distracting, and Merci needed to be tortured. It was just the way of the world. 'You should talk to her and arrange a time we can both come over. That way I can stay longer without needing to leave!'
He was a teenager, and could be away from her, this much was true. Dio still needed her though, and would have to return to her eventually. It sounded like a decent excuse to him, he could lose himself in books for hours after all.
Vance furrowed his brows and glanced at Amon. "An Escort huh? Well I guess you're good looking enough for a human. You are human right? I can never tell anymore. We don't have a single human on the entire estate I live in. Not sure I'd recognize one by sight anymore." The Medusa started pulling patties off the grill and stacking them nicely. "I should probably thank you for letting me stay here. So, thank you." Vance uncoiled his hair and let it drape back down his body, the damned tendril was almost as long as he was. "I'm not very social, and in a pretty bad mood. No offense but I would have skipped the party if I could've gotten away with it."
Merci could tell that Dio was talking about her, and her tail couldn't help but puff up a little bit at the thought of Athan trying to talk to her. Dear gods but that man gave her the willies. Her arm tightened unconsciously around Algie's. "I'm glad she isn't leaving..." Her voice was surprisingly steady, considering the hairs on the back of her neck were standing up. "She's a ray of sunshine that one. I leave all the technology stuff to Cinder. She's much better at it, I use the computer to pretty much check on our bank and that's about it." Merci's smile didn't seem forced, but it was kinda hard to miss the bottle brush tail and her ears at half mast.

Nephrite lazily looked up at the elder fiend through half-lidded eyes, her expression almost dreamy. ‘So they are like us?’ she queried. It did sound a lot like what fiends were like. And what Mystic did with his voice fascinated her. If pressed she’d have been unable to tell if she’d heard what he said with her ears or with her mind rather, or both. Only, you couldn’t really speak without a mouth. Neither could you smell without a nose, supposedly, so she simply accepted the mystery for what it was instead of trying to wreck her mind about it.
She’d noticed her guardian’s queries, such was evident from the quick glance that darted in his direction, but apparently chose to ignore him for now. Ruku, she’d get to spend the entirety of two weeks with pretty soon. Mystic, however, was a rare beast, and she was comfortable being near him for now.

“I am human, yes. To my knowledge at least. Definitely from my mother’s side, from my father's it's ambiguous at best.” Amon shrugged. It was Amy who kept claiming they were actual twins. There were enough physical likenesses to support they were siblings, or – at the very least – related to each other. Though it was the most obvious when she didn’t wear her contacts for a change. The eye color they shared with the woman they both called ‘Mother’ was rather peculiar and pretty rare. However, with his skin being anything but the aristocratic pale of the rest of his family, including the man he’d used to refer to as ‘father’, it was fairly obvious his biological father had hailed from elsewhere. He underwent medical checks on a monthly base though, and figured that, if he happened to be obviously anything else but human, the docs would probably have told him.
“I figured on the ‘not social’ bit, it does get obvious fairly quickly.” Amon smirked. “So, my genuine thanks to you for coming over, even if it hasn’t been your decision to make. It’s a bit of a relief to find out not all guardians are the terribly naïve happy-go-lucky sort like peach-hair over there who actually volunteered.” He pointed at Miranda with his thumb. “I don’t think she’s entirely sane.”
He paused, looking at Merci. He was pretty familiar with the body language of most races present on Gaia, and Merci’s unease, right now, was particularly obvious. “Something the matter?” he inquired softly, noticing how she kept glancing at the small group that had gathered around Athan. Was it Mystic? He certainly crept him out.

Rhys blinked slightly looking over to Miranda, "uhm, well I can't just take the Warhammer out...last time I did." He cleared his throat slightly, he'd been angry and just taken the ship last time. "Right now the ship is mostly grounded, Cinder is trying to find a place here." Shrugging a little he ate some more of his dip concoction before speaking again, "however, there should be flights in the future. I know that Cinder was going to take her up for Dio sometime," Rhys smiled faintly he was starting to lose some of his shyness, "as long as lots of people don't start trying to treat it like a tourist attraction I could probably see about you getting to go along."
Quirking a brow Rhys looked over toward Anais, "er...I'm not sure actually." Setting his plate down on the edge of the table he held his hand out, "can I see the can, I can probably read the can. I'm not allowed to drink yet," Rhys managed a strained smile, "Cinder's making me follow the local laws...on Beeshi where I was gr - born, there aren't any laws over that sort of thing."
Picking up the bit about the cupcakes Cinder put one of those on her plate, she grabbed up a few veggies and some chips without sauce before heading back over to the grill. Picking up the last bit of Vance's statement Cinder frowned, moving up as if to come around to get a burger on the other side of the grill she stepped down hard on the end of his tail with her heavy boot.
Instead of actually acknowledging Vance Cinder turned her attention to Amon, really if the Medusa continued to be a problem she had Kip's number saved on speed dial and she wasn't above returning him. "An escort, hm?" A slight smile came to her lips as she gave him a more obvious looking over, "as for Miranda, we might have rescue her from herself here in a bit." Turning a little Cinder looked over toward where Miranda and Anais were speaking with Rhys.
She'd turned her attention back to Merci as well but kept quiet waiting to hear what was going on.
Tek sat quietly while the others spoke observing how each interacted, noting Neph ignoring her guardian he slunk back over toward Mystic. Laying back in the shadows he snaked a tentacle out and lightly tickled Neph's arm furthest from Mystic withdrawing it quickly. Staying low he attempted to not be too obvious about it at first.

“It is?” Miranda stared at the illegible writing once more over the rim of her glasses, as if that was going to help any with an alien script. However, she was distracted from her attempts to decipher it in a second, as soon as Rhys mentioned the spaceship’s name. “‘Warhammer’?! Oh my God, what kind of spaceship is that?” She blinked, seeming mightily impressed. And took another sip from the can. It was sweet. Sweet made thirsty. “I would love to tag along if there’s a chance. I’ve never been to outer space.”
Rutie happily pinged his consent at going someplace interesting, but otherwise kept close to his guardian for now. She was starting to feel … kinda fuzzy to him, real strange.
“An escort, yes.” Amon seemed not taken aback at all by Cinder’s scrutinizing once-over, after all he was very much used to such. He smirked at her obvious interest, but his expression sobered up some once she pointed out Miranda. “What the Hell is that stuff you brought, actually? I mean, I don’t mind her getting drunk – knowing her that’s going to be hilarious – but I’m not so fond of her throwing up anywhere. Or to get really sick. I am the host here, after all.”
Neph, still snuggled up against Mystic’s form, felt something tingle against her lower left arm. As if something, something creepy had made it into her sleeve. She twitched and looked down at her arm, equally distracted and annoyed. What the …

Rhys arched a brow looking at Miranda a moment, "how much of that have you drank?" he was looking a touch concerned as he asked. "As for the ship, the Warhammer is just what it's named...it's actually a cargo ship, or well it was. Some of the cargo area was refitted so the ship is more customized now. It's a pretty big ship." Turning a little Rhys shifted his wings shifting his weight so he'd be able to catch Miranda if she started to fall. Rhys smiled a little, "I can tell you truthfully, there is nothing like space...uhm, if you start seeing anything odd...let me know." Rhys knew Cinder had brought home really strange things before and really hoped this wasn't like the one that made you hallucinate.
Considering Cinder decided that Amon was not only pretty nice looking but seemed pretty laid back. She'd been wanting to expand her local contacts especially into his neck of the market, with the Raven's Plume doing so well they'd been attracting various types of attention. Her attention was drawn back toward Miranda before she had a chance to ask about business, "it's from a planet called Szaldar, the inhabitants are particularly resistant to poisons and toxins which means they also tend to be rather resistant to alcohol." Frowning a little she watched Miranda, "hrm, I'll go disarm her if you like."
Once Neph's attention was on the arm xe had originally touched Tek snaked a tentacle out to brush lightly over the side of her dress on the other side of her body. Hoping xe'd have enough time to go unnoticed xe dodges to the side and attempts to use Mystic as a short of shield to keep him out of view.

"You can read Alien?" Anais asked as she held the can out to Rhys to take a look at. She didn't mind getting a bit tipsy but she didn't like getting wasted, spending the next day over the toilet was never good fun. "It would be cool to go into space I imagine. Though I quite like having my feet firmly on the ground. Went on an airship when I was a kid during high winds. Got sick as a dog."

Merci turned her head and her ears flattened again. Damn Dio, she shot her fiend a look before she glanced back to Amon. "I'm fine, just uh..." She sighed a bit and shrugged a shoulder, "Dio is just poking some fun at me, that's all." Sometimes she really wished that he were just outright mean, cause she could yell at him for that sort of thing. No, Instead he waited for the perfect time to make her squirm, and she couldn't do a damned thing about it without putting her foot in her mouth.
Vance made a pained sound when Cinder stepped on his tail, and he shot the woman a look. Though what kind of look was up for debate, since his eyes were well hidden behind the blindfold. He gritted his teeth before glancing back to Amon, "Want anything else cooked? Honestly it's too bad Seraph didn't get the stupid stone. He's far better with these sorts of things then I am." As he spoke, his body shifted, and the coils seemed to tighten. When he finally settled his tail was safely underneath the more substantial part of his long body.

Ruku laughed when Nell settled on his shoulder. He stroked her for a moment. *You'll grow soon, Nell. I'm sure of it.* He really was not sure if that was what seemed to be bothering her or if there really was anything troubling her at all. But he was sure it was overwhelming to have so many around. It was too bad he could not play a few tricks on people. Amon and Jasa would have his hide if he did.
Then he noticed Bloo. *Bloo!* A grin would have split his face if he had a mouth. But as it was his eyes were very amused and happy to see Bloo. He liked Bloo and had upon first meeting him, or so he thought now. Either way, he liked him. Reaching out he held his hand out to Bloo. *You need to grow! Then we could have all sorts of fun together.*
Jasa kept an eye on the food, filling the bowls from time to time. She and Hugo had spoken for awhile and she had to admit that she was intrigued by the man's talk of his planet. Perhaps she'd invite he and Oblivion over one day so that they could talk more. She was curious about the plants that he knew of. And she was certain Neph would be also if she had not already hit him up for something. And she was definitely going to the shop to speak to Athan about Ruku. Maybe she would have more of an idea on what he could and could not do once Athan had a bit to say about it.
Hugo watched more than he spoke. He was interested in watching these people as much as the fiends. A few times he turned to watch Oblivion who had forgotten all about him and seemed to be amused by the wisp with him. If he was amused, then he was not causing trouble. Hugo had noted he was staying in the shadows alot. The wisp was glowing faintly violet. He would have to find that paper and translate it for Athan as well as write down everything he remembered about Doran and Xavier. It might help give them a clue what they were dealing with in Obli.
The wisp drifted around Sulfur in amusement as if teasing her. If he had wanted a reaction, Obli was definitely getting one. Finally he drifted back from her, turning towards Hugo who was walking away. A flash of annoyance slipped through him as if trying to tell the oblivious man to stay in one place.

“‘Anything odd’ …?” Miranda couldn’t help it, she had to giggle. “You mean, any odder than usual given this is Gaia?” This party even had it’s very own tentacle monster after all. “And I haven’t had much yet, only this little?” She held up her free hand, indicating with the space between index finger and thumb how much was missing from the can in her opinion. “Like, four or five sips. Not much.”
“Nah, lets not,” Amon said with a faint smirk, taking note of how Miranda was acting even more lively than usual. “Actually, I do think it’s a valuable lesson to learn one should not accept random drinks from random strangers.” His smirk widened into a grin. He only vaguely recalled a pretty awful experience like that of his own, mostly the feeling seriously sick afterward.
“I think the grill can pause for a bit, everyone seems to be good so far. There’s enough coal to start things up again later, if there’s demand. Thanks,” he added as an afterthought, as Vance had done a pretty good job actually.
Nephrite twitched again, glaring to her other side, her tail lashing slightly with irritation. It wasn’t Mystic’s doing, she was pretty sure, so who was trying to poke fun at her?!

Rhys shrugged slightly, "well it really depends on what language, I know a few languages and usually depending the dialects are discernible." Tilting his head Rhys looked over the can that Miranda held up, furrowing his brows a moment he started translating some of what was written on the can, "it's one of the variations of the base language that Treeber use. Hrm, well a lot of races don't put proofs on their drinks like you do here, and it seems this is one of them. Came from Szaldar it seems," Rhys frowned a bit glancing up, "not a planet I know too much about, just that for a while it bounced back and forth between who had control of it."
A grin came to his lips as he looked to Miranda, "well it sounds like your alright."
Cinder chuckled a little her gaze going toward Miranda, taking a step over and ran her hand along Merci's arm in a comforting manner. Turning back toward Amon, "perhaps not now considering the party but at some point I'd like to talk business with you." Taking a carrot from her plate Cinder took a bite.
Tek's little tentacles curled as he attempted to contain a giggle. Considering a moment Tek stayed hidden next to Mystic, she was noticing he just didn't want to get caught too quickly.

Smirking a bit Trivii tilted her head, "I know, well intellectually I know... I guess the embarrassment is a knee jerk reaction... Is it bad that I wanted to claw out Amon's eyes when he grabbed her? That embarrasses me more."
Taking a bite of her own burger she chewed it thoughtfully. "I had a very repressed youth. I guess it haunts me a little.... You must have had a similar reaction right?" There was a slightly hope-full lilt to her voice before she took another bite.
~~~
Nell shimmered and enjoyed the attention as she scouted out the garden, when Ruku's attention shifted she floated off navigating the garden. Her shock abated and her curiosity led her, nose first, so to say around the garden, approaching the Green Fiend she circled her and rose up to eye level, sparkling and shifting shadows and light.... almost laughing before dropping and moving to investigate another big one....
This one had jewelry and multicolored hair but was otherwise black like the night itself, circling him she again briefly drew up to eye level before twirling and heading over to her foster mother.
