"Hold on!" Unlike Charlie, Lizzy didn't have anything to propel herself forward (or backward) with - that would be something to regret in a little while for sure, but for now, she was just trying to get Charlie upright again. Luckily, the boil was close enough for her to grab onto his sleeve - ew, she did not want to know what she had just touched - to pull him closer and attempt to flip him around.
It was difficult with all the flailing though.
"Stop moving!" She didn't know if she should laugh or frown at his antics, and went for the former instinctively; covered in the smell of the basement or not, Charlie was still adorable and hug-worthy!
"Hey... You're the upside down one! Uh, I think." It was getting hard to tell, since these stairs were rather odd.

Alright, time to try flying. Body pointed upward (or at least in the direction he assumed was up), Sheridan flapped his wings, one beat, two beats. It seemed he was getting somewhere, it -felt- like he was moving, but--
He was suddenly directly under a twisted section of staircase. Where the hell had that come from? Looking around, it was clear he was still no closer to the top of the staircase, wherever it happened to lead, if it led anywhere.
Feet pushing off a structure, using his wings to 'glide', Sheridan took a lap around the room.
"No luck, though it does help with stability."

Mac had nodded to Petro when the Tikbalang commented on the theories, and then promptly turned his attention towards Jericho. Hrm, well, that was a good question! Mac looked down at his hand, but before he could try he felt a tug on his arm; it was Lizzy, urging him to not risk it...because she wouldn't let him? To his surprise, the notion was touching; he was clearly thrown off by her concern considering, well...who he was.
"Careful now, that almost sounded like you cared about me." He teased with a grin, recovering from his surprise with a nice thin mask of himself. Still, he stretched out his hand and tried. Usually the staff started to materialize within a moment or two, however, nothing happened. Not a thing. The bat he had holstered in his belt kind of changed to a birch white, but that was about it.
"Ah, sorry man, I can't." Though, as he looked down at the bat he had gotten at the start...a thought occured. The thought didn't get very far, as Lizzy had dragged him on the stairs...and then she and Charlie decided to go jumping.
"No, you're both upside down." He informed them, looking up at them both. Then, with a bit of a ponder, jumped as well to float suspended in the air.
"...."
Okay, this was kind of cool.
"Yanno, minus the being stared at by that creeper over there..." The Reaper wagged his fingers at the cloaked figure that insisted on staying out of reach - something Mac was completely okay with - before continuing. "This is fun!" The most fun they had so far, actually.
Wait, didn't he have a point to make? He did.
"...Hey, Guys?" He called out to get the attention of anyone that would listen. "Is it just me, or did we only get to put our FEAR into the weapons only after we were attacked by that cloaked thing with the skulls?"

Just as another spin had Riley moving away from Sharra, she found herself looking at Mac jumping towards her. He floated just a few inches in front of her, and her eyes crescented slowly up in a mischievous look.
Then she reached over and took one of his arms, tugging on it lightly to turn him upside down, and twirled away.

"I never said I didn't," She raised an eye brow at Mac somewhat belatedly, although in her defense, there were a lot of unanswered questions on her mind regarding their current situation, which was quite a distraction. However, floating and being upside down (at least, according to Mac, she was upside down) was kind of taking her mind off those questions for a while.
For a while.
"Uh... Hey, that's true," She frowned, flailing her arms to try to get herself to not be upside down - well, relative to Mac - and ended up bumping into Charlie instead. She frowned, holding onto the demon with one hand and reaching for Mac with the other, "Most of us probably didn't think of doing it before though... I mean, most of us didn't expect to get attacked so suddenly... You do make a point though. I wonder why..."
When Mac was twirled around by Riley, her eyes widened at the mindflayer, mainly due to surprise, before she burst out giggling, "Now can you tell which way is the right side up?" She then decided flailing out of his reach was the better idea, dragging Charlie along with her.

Malodore glanced at Mac, its eyes narrowed in thought. "Perhaps it was its way of... encouraging us to use our FEAR so it could be harvested."
It didn't like that thought one bit.

Sepheran was still a little groggy from the fall and it took him a while to get himself back on his feet, and a little longer for Liannan to get herself situated luckily having not been crushed during the fall thanks to some quick thinking on her part.
Sepheran nodded softly hearing Arachne talk about going first, while normally he would go first this time he still had to wait a bit so by the time he was ready most everyone else had seemed to file through. Stepping through the door he started up the stairs, pausing when Liannan mentioned the man on top and instantly starting to go as fast as he could until he realized something. The stairs seemed endless, and according to Liannan they were on top of some people and below others...just what was going on.
There were also some students floating along mid air...how they did it he didn't know but since Arachne wasn't among them he decided to keep going on the stairs in hopes to find her...and perhaps the end of the staircase where ever that may be.

Listing to the others formulate plans on what was actually happening, got Astra to start thinking herself. Mainly about the reason as to why everyone was floating around. It just didn't make any sense. She had heard about the notes, about the reapers who were able to reap their FEAR, and apparently how they may be trying to steal theirs.
So, if they were targets..what was up with this place? the comment about this being part of the hooded figured power made sense to her, so much in fact, that she began to wonder about their 'zero gravity' situation.
"Hey..." Astra said to anyone that may be around here. "if this could be that reaper's power...could this mean the reason everyone is floating because of his FEAR? as in, his FEAR is keeping everyone up?" Cause if that was the case, then if he stopped using his power...

Mac didn't see Riley or realize what she was going to do until it was too late. Much too late.
"Whatareyoudoingstoptouch---AH" The Reaper found himself flipped, and yet...not. Nothing of his went upside down, but he was pretty sure he was upside down now. He didn't feel that way, for sure. Still, whether he was up or down didn't matter, he still folded his arms across his chest and pouted like a three year old.
"I don't like you." Came his oh-so-clever retort; but as serious as it was, he still just sounded mopey. Again, doing his best impression of a young child and doing so well he probably made his little sister jealous.
You know, if she stopped being an illusion and could feel jealousy.
"Hmph." He grumbled, staring at the hand Lizzy had extended to him as if wondering what the jack she wanted him to do with it. "Both of you." He corrected to add Lizzy into the equation, now muttering about demon cooties and brushing off the sleeve that Riley had touched.
"Maybe~" Finally, an answer to the Doctor's musings! Though the little Fairy's suggestion made him pause. He was going to regret floating more than he already was, wasn't he?
He decided it would be Lizzy's fault if they died for floating.

Riley had come to a very unimportant, but very interesting, conclusion. This boy, this reaper, was making irrational judgments based on what seemed to be his own personal bias. That meant he could be easily cajoled into hilarious reactions.
How delicious.
Aww.. She took hold of his pant leg, and used it to turn herself over to face him. You're so cute when you're irrationally angry at someone you hardly know. She leaned in and touched his nose with the tip of her claw. You're.. Mac, wasn't that what Lizzy called you? It's such a pleasure to meet you, Mac. My name is Riley. I can tell we're going to be such great friends.
Her voice was smooth, practically dripping with something hidden and devious. It changed instantly when Astra offered her suggestion for their current state, and Riley used Mac once more to turn herself upright.
I don't doubt the possibility that FEAR is involved in this projection, if that's what it is. However, our current state of.. floating, as it where - I don't think FEAR is holding us up. We'd feel it.. wouldn't we?

"Aww, poor puppy. You don't really mean that~" She couldn't help herself from giggling at Mac's expression before reaching out and patting him on the head (well, hat) now that he had been rotated to be on the same "plane" as herself and Charlie, jsut before Riley got a hold of him. As they were floating, she didn't even have to try extra hard to reach the top of his head!
Her attention soon turned to Astra, and she gave her a sheepish smile, "How do you know up from down? For all you know, you might be upside down where you're seated and you'll fall, once this is all over... Just a thought."
Was she a little upset at the fae flailing at Jericho? Maybe. Just maybe.

"Should I be happy that a complete stranger decided to mess with my perception just to amuse herself?" He wasn't being irrational; a lot of people didn't like to be touched by strangers, didn't she realize that? "You're assuming I like being touched by strangers." He argued, leaning away from her hand as she insisted on touching him with her disgusting claws. Ugh. Who knew where that Demon's hands had been?
"Oh, so great." Mac replied, his voice absolutely dripping with sarcasm. "Go away now." He made shooing motions with his hands; a move that ended up turning into more of a light shove to use her for once. Mostly to get away from her.
Of course, that had him nearly collide with Lizzy instead.

So angry. Riley murmured, as Mac's push had her slowly bumping into Sharra. And I thought I had a temper. Her eyes flickered to Lizzy, suddenly filled with compassion. Lizzy, I thought you had better taste in friends than this. I'm not entirely sure I find this Mac person to be a good influence. She spotted Charlie floating nearby, and then smelled him. Her tentacles cringed. Though she had mostly been saying it for the insult, now she actually started second-guessing Lizzy's ability to choose a decent set of friends..
Nevertheless, she murmured, turning her eyes back to Mac. Whatever problem you have with me, you should drop it. We're all in this together, we don't need to be fighting amongst one another. Wait until we're safe and sound back in Amityville, and then you can misdirect your issues with your parents or whatever has your panties in a bunch, at me some more. But for now, we need to work together to survive. Okay?

Malodore frowned - inwardly - at the way the conversation with the reaper boil was going. While it had no doubt Riley was more than capable of handling herself... the plague doctor still leaned towards Mac in its very best impression of a menacing ghoulfriend. Boilfriend.
...Whichever.
The overall effect was somewhat akin to a vulture... vulturing... over its dinner.

He should have seen it coming, but she had been trying to reach him for a while to cling onto him again - it was just pure luck that he came to her instead! The moment Mac was near, she held onto his arm to stop him from colliding with her and Charlie, who she had hooked onto with her other arm, although they continued to move a short distance before they stopped.
"And you were just beginning to stop being grumpy too," She raised an eye brow at Mac, hooking her arm around his and leaning on it, "Riley's not a bad person, you know... She's reliable." She was now glad Mac had been lost in the fog for longer than she had; she wasn't sure how he would react to that if he had been there when she turned on them on their way to the lighthouse.
She then proceeded to hug the boil - protest or not - before peeking out from his side to look at Riley.
"He's not a bad person either, really!" She couldn't help but giggle, sending her a private thought as she grinned, 'He actually saved me once from drowning. He just won't admit it!' From her tone, it was clear that she was amused, but she wasn't lying.
... She also giggled at Malodore's reaction.
