Viveca chuckled. "I spent the last field trip in the infirmary. I hear it was pretty crazy, though." Her eyes opened up wide, as though she had just remembered something important. It was fairly important, she supposed, but her facial expression seemed more expressive than necessary.
"Oh! I'm Viveca," she said. In all the recent events of the ship, she didn't think she'd introduced herself. He had tried to save her, after all, so that deserved some sort of social formalities.
She put out her hand. "I only just got to school before we started the trip."

"Aksaja," he replied at that, taking her hand and shaking it with a quick sort of grin. Then he winced slightly. "Ouch, that sucks about the infirmary. Thought I was gonna end up in there myself a time or three. There was this deer . . . " Quickly, he trailed off, not really wanting to talk about that Jackdamned monster.
"Mostly the last one was cold all the time, and no one's abilities worked very well," he grumbled softly.

You know, after the fish had gone, his belly was full Israfel was slowly, (very slowly) getting used to this whole...ship thing. The squid however. Yeah, he stayed inside for that. Inside, trembling in fear. Watching and expecting it to tear the other student in half and eat them all, then snap the boat in half like a twig. He was expecting it. Betting on it. Really, he would have bet against someone. It was a good thing he didn't because apparently the squid was a p***y and got killed damn quick. Killed or maybe.
NO.
It was dead. He had to think it was dead for good or else it was doing to come back as zombie squid. But in FEAR infested waters like these, you never knew. You didn't.
And that made Israfel a tad timid when he came out back on deck.
He silently scooted behind Aksaja.
"Knowing the school we're going to be sacrificed." He shuddered. "Or eaten by sharks. Or be forced to fight robots. I don't think a beach vacation is in our future that would be..." Earwings fell flat. "Most unlike past school events.

For some reason Alcyone had managed to be on the completely opposite side of the ship when Vivi was taken by the squid and when the students were busy trying to get the squid off. She was obviously busy daydreaming or something or the other...
When she FINALLY heard the commotion, it was already over. Rushing over to Vivi after realizing that something had happened, Alcie put her hand on the other ghoul's shoulder. "Are you alright? What just happened?" Wide eyed, Alcie obviously missed something. If it was a battle, she would be very upset with herself for not paying more attention. Darn this ship for being so huge.

Sin sat off to one side and wrapped up her ankle, it was swollen but no longer throbbing. Hopefully she'd be fine and healed up in a day or two, she was just glad Vivi was alright and the damn squid was gone. She smiled as she spotted Alcie, oh good both her friends were alright. Slowly the tension eased out of her shoulders. She pushed back a strand of hair and sighed, so much for being on the luxury boat. She idly wondered how the other ships were faring...and how a certain incubus was doing.
She finally stood and forced herself not to limp, but her walk was a little less graceful then usual. She headed over to stand near Alcie and Vivi and even lightly hugged them both. Mother wouldn't disapprove of a little affection for her ghoul-friends after all. They HAD just faced a potentially life threatening situation. "I'm glad you're both okay."

Aksaja glanced back behind him upon suddenly hearing the Siren's voice. With a little grimace, he nodded at the other boil's words. "Yea, sadly you're probably right. But no reason to worry about it for right now, huh?" he pointed out, offering the other a quick grin. After all, they'd done okay so far. Even killed a giant squid. And a bunch of fish.
The lightning dragon wasn't quite sure why Israfel seemed so afraid of the water and wouldn't even get close to the edge of the ship but some odd instinct prompted him to say, "If you fall off or something, I'll try and save you. I can fly, after all."

Dusting herself, she surveyed the damage done to the ship and to the students. It could have been worse.. They could have actually sank, and Viveca could have been dragged down if it wasn't for Sin retrieving her in time. They were lucky.. But somehow, she felt as though there luck would run out eventually. "Just what is it Amityville is planning? I mean.. What is so important that they would risk all of this? I doubt its another raid.." Running her fingers through her hair irritably, she felt as though they needed answers, and fast! They had a right to know what was going on!
"Is everyone alright?" She asked, glancing from student to student. Viveca seemed to be a little weaker than before, and Sin also had been wounded--thankfully not critically.. She was amazed that Viveca, Aksaja, and Sin were able to deal so much damage with little or no help at all! And in such circumstances.. Yes, she would need to continue her studies more. These toys were.. So unpredictable..

CLOAK'S CHALLENGE! At some point during the battle, Cloak had disappeared below deck with a curious look on her face. If anyone had been distracted long enough from the battle to listen, they would have heard her cursing from her cabin and making more noise than seemed necessary on a ship. Not too long after the beast was killed she reappeared again - carrying some interesting equipment. She set it all down carefully on the deck, spreading it out into sections for each student, and didn't look up at any of them until she was done. Then she stood and looked at each student very seriously, waiting until she had gotten their attention. Once she was sure they were all paying attention to her, she began her very serious speech. "I'm glad that you all survived that attack," she even sounded like she meant it, "but this is an opportunity that I can't pass up and I need your help." She reached down then and picked up one of the things she had set on the deck - it looked like a giant glue gun, except the tip was a needle and a vial was fit neatly into the back. "I need giant squid ink for my, uh, studies and I need your help to get it." She set the extraction gun down then and picked up an extra vial she had set beside it. "I need at least ten of these filled, so get to work!" Then she set the vial down as well and stepped back, waiting for them to get to work. (( Alright kids, this is how this is going to work!
You will roll a 6-sided die to try and match the one I rolled in this post. If you match it, you found a place with ink and successfully fill one vial. If you roll any other number, you fail and must try again. You can fill as many as you'd like until the game is over!
Each post needs an rp reaction, no matter how small. Prizes will be awarded for:

Israfel nodded. Then frowned. "Wait, shouldn't we worry? What if they're sending us to some kind of spring time slave camp? Of one of those testing facilities were they make us study all day and night to bolster our scores so they can make more money." This was just another typical reaction for him, fretting like nobody's business. Looking at Mei he went on. "I mean, they..they could do it. We signed those papers. Do you think our parents know? I mean, they can't hold us..us fledgelings accountable can they? We're not legal adults yets. Oh jack I don't want to spend my break doing more homework. Or fighting. What would be worst is if they told us we had to do both at the same time." Shivering, Israfel tried to take comfort in Askaja's words he really did.
The quip about him falling in drew the biggest reaction, more then the idea of week long studying. "REALLY?" He started giving the dragon the biggest, most pathetic look he could muster. "Sirens aren't meant to be on boats. We sink them, not ride in them. Boats are death traps."

The woman, Cloak wasn't it, got his attention a little while later. She was curious. Unknown, and it did prompt Israfel's interest. Perhaps it was the classic bird mentality in him. Picking up the gun his eye focused on the needle part. It was a needle from who knew where. Or what it was for. But it was a needle. A BIG needle. Suddenly Israfel was more questioning of the school and just what they were going to be doing and who this lady was and why did she need ink. So many questions. So many...most likely to never be answered.
Leery as all jack, Israfel picked up the gun and timidly poked a cut arm of squid.
"So um..." He wasn't sure if he was doing this right. "Just...who are you exactly?"

Ugh, seriously? Sin was just starting to relax again when Cloak asked for their unique services. Squid ink huh, well if Cloak wanted to write letters or whatever Sin could help. Besides stabbing that thing with a needle sounded pretty therapeutic. She grabbed one of the strange tools and knelt down near a tentacle plunging it in...and nothing. Apparently she hadn't hit whatever spot was needed to draw ink from, she stabbed a few more times and then decided that furious stabbing motions weren't going to help.

Cloak had gone back to standing there silently, watching the students go about her dirty work, when one of them.. talked to her. She blinked a few times, staring at him (him?), and finally realized that the student expected an answer.
"A trick or treater," she said blandly, staring at him while he.. tried to work. It was the only answer she could, or was willing to, give.

This time Sin was a bit more careful, she examined the tentacle and then slowly worked the tip in. It took her a bit and some wriggling to find it, then black inky liquid started to seep up and she carefully extracted enough to fill one vial. She stood and then gasped as she realized her fingertips were STAINED in ink! This stuff could stain!? She quickly held out the vial towards Cloak as if it were poison. Oh sweet Jack she did not want to stain this gorgeous dress!
"Here!" She handed over the vial and then set down the needle gun and backed away. She had to go wash her hands quickly and not touch anything!

Oh geez, c'mon, not the big-eyed pitiful look. Damn. "Yea, really," the lightning dragon murmured. WHY had he said that? I mean, he barely even knew Israfel. Ugh . . . but then again, if HE fell in, he'd want someone to try and save him. Right? Right. Yea.
And then (thankfully) Cloak showed up babbling about squid ink and broke the AWKWARD MOMENT before things got any worse.
Grabbing a needle-gun with something akin to relief, Aksaja moved to find a tentacle and try to get some ink out of it.

Rain had missed the fight entirely. She really needed to come out of her room more often. It wasn't her fault, not completely.. right? She couldn't find her sea legs. Zombies really weren't meant for the open sea or ocean or any large body of water. Or any body of water. She even hated bathtubs!
What would happen if she went overboard? She couldn't swim. She couldn't even float. She'd sink to the bottom until someone was able to retrieve her. At least she wouldn't die and hopefully the sea creatures wouldn't be interested in dead flesh but what would she do? Watch the fish swim by? Learn some kind of fishy sign language? No. She had to avoid the deck. She needed to get back to land.
The noise above had finally won over and she peeked out curiously to see Cloak once again requesting their aid, this time with ink. It seemed simple enough. Grab the sharp pointy thing, stab the dead squid -- which was really huge -- and hope for ink. She could do that. She could do stabby things. Grabbing one of the inkinators (she had to call it something), she walked over to the giant squid. She poked it for good measure to make sure the thing was really dead before jamming the thing into it's body.
