can't throw it up if you don't have it in you.
Plus digestion takes a lot of energy, so your body may just divert it's attention away from food while it tries to hunt down the germs,
OR to weaken the germs?
OR I could actually go look this up.

I tried googling - but no dice. First it brought me to the eating disorder (Anorexia is the GENERAL medical term for a lack of appetite, including the when you;re sick kind). The rest just mentioned it as a symptom of illness
I did read some stuff that said to eat protein - chicken etc when you start getting your appetite back, so your body can work with the protein, and fresh veg/fruit too. Milk not so much just because your body has to work hard to digest the sugars in milk.
I'll keep my eyes open though.
