Kyu looked at the writhing creature below, and sighed. "Alright then. Maybe there's something I can do to calm the poor mutt down." Kyu bent his knees and squatted down, eyes analyzing the rocking feral boy, "Something's got him spooked all right... He looks like death... But, I got a Genjutsu that should calm him down, at least long enough for him to tell us what the hell is up with him."
Kyu made a few quick handseals, and grabbed the scratchy stray's jaw, then said firmly, "Alright, bro. Listen carefully. We're all here to help you with whatever it is that you're going through, alright?"

At this point, someone like a Hyuuga that could see chakra would see a transfer of yellow energy stretching from Kyu's mouth to Kaji's ears. The mesmerizing, hypnotic effects of Kyuzaku's age-old jutsu, Hidden Mist Leadership. With this special jutsu that the boy got from an antique scroll, he could entrance his teammates feel positive and trusting of a team. It was an ability that he tried to use scarcely, but the abundance of crazy, self-serving academy students made it a necessary evil back in his school days. Kyu felt the enchanting jutsu take hold. Soon, The wide-awake, terror filled eyes that the Inuzaka had on his face would soften back to normal, and he might even feel like sharing whatever tragedy befell him with the rest of the crew.

Wait, something's wrong... Resistance? No way, the mental effect is too subtle for resistance... But it feels... Like a backlash! Suddenly, Kyu felt his chakra shoved back into him, followed by a strange, horrific vision. Whatever Kaji was thinking... Whatever he was seeing... Kyuzaku had inadvertently seen a glimpse of it in the rebound. Kyu concentrated, and saw the image in his head. There was a green hill, and a small village below. It was spring... and the sky was sunny... but something was blotting it. What is that cloud coming from? Smoke? Is the town on fire?

Kyu formed the handseal set again, and stretched his genjustu to the dog boy once more. This time, he got more pieces of the puzzle. They were more fragmented this time. When he closed his eyes, like a waking nightmare, he saw a few select images. The town was on fire, the smoke covered up the smell of the brisk spring air. Then there was another smell, faint at first, but it grew and it grew until it practically took over Kyuzaku's real senses!

Things changed again, this time he saw dead bodies scattered around a shattered city. Anyone alive was burned to a crisp by the unchecked flames. Although he recognised no one, he had a feeling they were important somehow.

The memory fragments changed into a new scene, a man on the hill, speaking to him. Without a hint of friendliness or goodwill, he spoke harshly to Kyuzasku. This segment merged with another, it seemed, as his lecture began to come from his bloody disembodied head that rolled across the floor.

Kyu grabbed his head, "Ow... That hurts..." He didn't plan on trying again, each forced memory was painful on the brain. Now, he needed to piece together what he saw: the field, the burning town, the people on fire, and the beheaded lecturer. The fishy ninja got up, and stared at the white-haired beast, "Well, every time that I attempt my jutsu on him, it cancels, and I get a brief glimpse at what I believe to be the thoughts that are making him like this. If I had to guess, based on what he's said, I'd say that he might have witnessed something bad. Something that has scarred him deeply. Might be that he saw his clan wiped out... And his father dying. I'd try again, but I don't want to get too much farther... Last thing I need his his nightmares."

Really?Kyuzaku stood back, and began to think of another way to help the feral boy. He momentarily considered delving deeper, however, the pain in his brain, and the flashing, dreamlike images were fresh in his mind. Even after he took his mind off them, they popped back into view every time he blinked. Curse you involuntary motion! Kyu heard a dripping sound from the dock, and looked off the side of the boat. He heard steps, then saw a young, female shinobi appear. Kyuzaku listened as the approching ninja announced herself, her objective, and the fact that she was taking over this mission. Kyuzaku's brows fell into an angry expression, and he cut away from his work with the shivering dog. This woman was an ANBU, it appeared, and she had only been on the port seconds before she started barking out orders. Odd... Why is there an ANBU with us... when the last one said we'd be fine on our own... Kyu crossed his arms, and looked the experienced ninja up and down. She looked ANBU enough, given her uniform and mask. However, even if she was one of the elite assassination ninja that he knew about, he didn't want her around. Kyu had plans, plans to bring these ninja together, even if he did detest the lot. What we don't need is an ANBU getting in the way. Experienced as she may be, her order-giving won't inspire the teamwork and togetherness that I'm working for. I have a feeling that if we followed her lead, we might end up dead. Not from any error in her plans, but from the attitudes of some of our team. Kaji, if he were to come to, might attack Hibiki in the midst of battle. If things were to get bad between then, I wouldn't doubt that his friend, the dark kid, would get caught in their fray too. Any plan that she'd come up with would fall to pieces at that point. Then, if either Kurosaki twin unleashes their demon, we'd by wiped out. I must get rid of her. Kyu waved coolly from the deck, "Kyuzaku Hoshigaki, Combat Nin." Kyu walked to the walkway, and continued, "Odd that you should show up, Ms.... Shiba... was it? Our director for this mission is a woman named Hyuuga Ruii. She said that we'd be fine on our own from here on out. I assure you, Ms. Shiba: Ms. Ruii, these genin, and I have this fully under control." "I know how busy you ANBU types are: fixing up the city's defenses, making sure that no further attacks take place under your vigilant watch... Your talents would be so much more needed here in Kiri, lest we see another attack like last nights. With this mission, they'll already be down one experienced ninja, and we simply can't have another one go. Am I right?" Kyu leaned on the railing, overlooking the dock and the ANBU.

By just looking, it only seemed that he was only whispering into the feral boy's ear, but after a short time the blue-skinned boy pulled back. Weaving the seals he had used previously again the boy went at it again, this time closing his eyes. The blue boy grabbed his head, muttering that whatever he did hurt. He announced that every time he tried his technique it cancelled out, and he only got bits and pieces of thoughts that made him feel the way he did. Kaji had mentioned that his parents were taken from him at a young age, but had not mentioned anything about the probable massacre that the fish-like boy was describing. "Thanks for the help. " said Novvus, this time deciding against extending his arm in a symbol of friendship. With a sigh, he picked up Kaji in his arms and was going to take him down into the hold when a suspicious ANBU kunoichi arrived and claimed she was put in charge of the mission. Judging by the fact that she was dripping wet, she was either swimming or had fallen into the harbor. That's very odd for an ANBU... thought Novvus, Why would one so dignified tarnish the name of their rank? It's sad but that's just pathetic... Novvus now had an annoyed expression on his face that he couldn't get rid off. The kunoichi in front of them had stepped on his pride as a member of DEW and she wasn't gonna get off easily. He ignored her orders to state who they were and carried Kaji down to the hold, getting Kaji under some warm blankets was more important at the moment anyway. Novvus searched the different compartments until he found Kurosai snoozing in one all the way at the back of the ship. He laid the Inuzuka down gently and covered him with a wool sheet. Next, he fashioned two disk-shaped ice mirrors and set one up in a dark corner facing Kaji. Novvus then looked through the remaining mirror and saw Kaji and Kurosai through it. Happy with his work, Novvus slipped the ice mirror into his bag and went back up to the deck. Walking up to the railing he addressed the ersatz ANBU. "The name's Novvussor du Sokkulor, Tracker. "

Rinku sat up top on the deck waiting as the ship began to depart. “Looks like things are starting to move along now.” He brushed himself off and looked around. Below he saw Kyu and another shinobi hudled around a sick looking shinobi. The shinobi looked terrible, he looked worse then death itself and he looked completely out of it. Rinku tilted his head. It seemed Kyu was attempting to help him. But as he pulled off a technique it seemed to have no effect other then backfire. Rinku made his way down to the area. He saw Hibiki talking to another anbu who exclaimed that she was a medical shinobi. An Anbu…? That’s odd… Rinku got down to the area where he saw Kyu and the others. One of the shinobi was lifting the sick looking one as the same Anbu lady appeared giving an introduction. Kyu immediately detested the Anbu, but stayed polite. He decided, however, that he made himself noticeable and try to make friends with the other shinobi. He turned to the man carrying the sick one. “Do you need any help?” He said trying to sound as cheery as he could. “My name’s Rinku Kaguya, I guess im coming along to help you guys out.” He said. He would have extended a hand, but the other shinobi had his hands full so he just kind of put his hand behind his head and smiled. All the while he could here Kyu being awfully suspicious of the anbu. Rinku had his suspicions as well, but figured if anyone could figure it, it would be Kyu.

Once within the village, Koji began to make his way towards what was left of the shopping district. With the groups ANBU leader informing them all to pack warm clothing, Koji knew he would need to return to his usual shopin order to get something that would fit his bulky frame no matter what form he took, and would also provide enough warmth for him to operate at his full power. However to his dismay almost all of the stores and recognizable features that were once all about the district were gone, and even in the center there was a covered pile where the dead were still being brought out, or at least what was still intact of the dead for that matter.

With a bit more effort to locate his usual boutique, Koji walked closer to the stalls that were set up and began to ask around for his particular seamstress as she alone seemed to be able to produce clothing for those with Akimichi abilities. But after asking numerous vendors it was apparent that none of them knew of her in great detail or her whereabouts. "Aw ******** it, I'll just have to find some other way of keeping myself warmed up while in the land of frost... maybe I'll skin a bear or some s**t." Koji said to himself as he finally gave up his search, in hopes that she would still be around when he returned from his first mission. With his new set of priorities Koji made sure to stock up on "super foods"; with him needing to eat more just to sustain his own abilities he would most likely need to double that in order to compensate for operating in the cold weather.

After stopping in at an army surplus store Koji began on his way back to the docks, with each of his new items stored away in various pockets and pouches located on his body, and within a simple one strap pack that he purchased, Koji stored an emergency jacket in case his current clothing and his own skill would not be enough to keep his body insulated well enough. Checking the time, Koji was already running way behind schedule and as such made his way to the docks by tearing through the streets, hopping over the occasional child that got in his way. <******** my first mission and I'm already falling behind... with my luck they will probably have already began to leave and I'll have to find some crazy way to catch up to them." Koji thought to himself as mid run he reached into his back pocket and produced a small ration of bear jerky and bit into it, leaving it hanging in his teeth as he ran.

With the edge of the island now coming into his sights, Koji began to slow his pace, still chewing on the bit of jerky he produced earlier, although he was mostly finished the piece of meat by now. Forming a short set of seals, Koji's eyes became lighter in color, almost white, and along with this came the on set of veins within his face. While Koji could have simply walked up and assessed each of the ninja that were gathered he decided he would scope everyone out before hand and try to determine everyones power level to some extent, and also if anyone amongst the group was currently using any type of masking jutsu or other technique that could be detrimental to himself.

(Gonna finish after the roll -. 3 -.

Then again, everyone here seemed to have a slight suspicion, judging by the look on their faces; their general appearance seemed to be more annoyed by the ANBU than curious. Even Hibiki drew in a deep breath and sighed heavily at the turn of events. Wait a second, He took another deep breath and his grin widened even more, if that was even possible to begin with. How odd, her scent is off. He leaned towards Kuro, still disguised as Hibiki and whispered, "Follow my lead." The duo stepped forward and began to circle around the ANBU as if she was prey. "What was your cover up name? Shiba Aburame? Obviously you're probably not as experienced with smells as a pup from the Inuzuka clan, however." The two Hibiki's paused, and began to circle in the opposite direction, "You should know that everyone has a unique scent, despite how strikingly similar they may be to others. Sometimes you can cover a majority of it by diving into a body of water or covering it up with a stronger smell. Now, there are a few exceptions to this. Clones, both solid and illusion clones, are different. They do not carry a scent since they are technically not real and are made up of chakra." Now, the real Hibiki stood in front of the ANBU, who was considerably taller, and chuckled again, while Kuro stood behind her. "If you really want to win over our loyalty, you'll allow me to do this with no consequence." And with that, Hibiki pulled back his right fist that was crackling with lightning chakra, before performing a straight jab towards the girl's stomach. Upon contact, the Clone had erupted into a watery explosion before settling into a puddle of water. "Vhat?! Even I deedn't zhink of zhat!" Kuro commented rather loudly, a slight furrow in his brow. Hibiki then turned around to the rest of the crew. "Who's bright idea was it that created the clone? We are the only Shinobi on this boat, so it had to be one of us. Obviously I wouldn't have tried to swindle anyone, since I was the one that found out it was fake." He sighed, scanning the crowd. Other than Kyo and myself, no one even questioned her identity. Than again, they were smart in choosing to pose as an ANBU. Quote: sorry for the agonizingly long time for me to post that

Quote: Water Clone = Burst into water Not smoke xdAizen looked up between the flooring of the docks as his clone had been discovered and destroyed. and thus he swam from beneath the docks only to climb onto it. Water dripped onto the wooden slabs as he chuckled slightly. clapping his hands together as he finally spoke, his Aquatic features still in activation. "And here I thought the first person to catch onto my doings would be a Sensor... but who would have thought a Inuzuka would have out witted a Sensory ninja... Ahaha... what a bunch of goof ball shinobi you all are, you won't last very long with the twins if you can't even get past my basic disguise...Hmm but thanks for the introductions, Now I've got the upper hand on all of you." He wasn't much for a physical type person so he knew he couldn't pick a fight with people on the boat, it would be to near impossible to get a good distance from his opponents. rather yet, Koji was still late, but Aizen knew he would appear within time. I should try to hide myself better next time... perhaps put a piece of cloth into the Clone.... making it more realistic. He sighed once more before looking up at the other genin. "I despise showing myself like this... but if it's in the goodness of the village very well...The less people who know me the better I'm am as a shinobi...Any ways onto business... From what I've been told these twins have caused allot of damage around the village, but that still doesn't explain the key factor... why! why would they damage the village and then so suddenly flee as if wanted for mass murder...the actions don't fit with the explanation. and if you are too naive to know better than you've got no business going on this Mission; Although, I myself am going for a different reason... to find out why they are Missin-Nin. If and only then is when I will decide if I'm going to capture them or let them go... a Injustice is wrong, and if it's being done by Kirigakure I'd want to know...This is my village but I still have my morals in humanity. Aizen made a 'tisk' sound before he took in a deep breath and calmly sighed. giving his purpose would no doubt strike arrogance in some of the others, better now than later. At least now he could deal with them before they left for some random a** request from a bad government order.

For a few short moments Kaji felt some small relief from the genjutsu but that was quickly shattered by the scars caused by the nightmare. When Novvus picked him up the feral boy whimpered slightly. As he was placed next to Kurosai the black wolf immediately woke up and went to his side. The wolf nuzzled him and used their empathic link to try and calm Kaji down. Even Fenrir joined in helping Kaji to calm down by taking the memory of the dream and locking away the worst of it deep inside of Kaji's mind. The feral boy slowly returned to normal over the course of the next fifteen minutes or so. After which he made his way up to the upper deck. He wasn't really in a mood to talk to anyone so he shape changed into a flea and hid on Kurosai's back before they reached the upper deck. When he got there people were talking about the mission or some such thing and Kaji just shook his tiny little head and buried himself deeper into Kurosai's coat letting the wolf's scent cover his own. He would simply watch through Kurosai's eyes for now.

Hibiki was quite proud of himself that he was skilled enough to detect a fake, however, the good feeling had sunk like a bad ship when another genin, who looked literally too fishy, and began to mock everyone in sight. He spoke about how badly skilled everyone was and how none of them would survive in the fight with their targets. Above all, he said he had the upper hand on all of his own comrades. The Inuzuka took a couple steps forwards until he was at least a yard away from the trickster, Kuro followed and grabbed onto the hood of his friend, for safe measure. With a strained smile, he spoke aggressively, "First of all, I am a Sensory Nin, I said so myself when introducing myself. Second of all, you should be more supportive of your teammates, you're not supposed to have an upper hand. And Third of all, don't even bother coming with us if you plan on defying Kiri." His tone was obviously filled with rage as he clutched his flute with anger in his right hand. Kuro did not slacken his grip on the hoodie, however, his features seemed to droop a bit. "If you betray Kiri, I'll hunt you down myself, since I am a Sensory Nin!""Hibiki." Kuro said with a snap. The disguised Vulpine tried to control the other half of the duo, but he could never settle him down. "No Kuro! Don't you see? If you let this scoundrel onto the battlefield with us, he will betray us if his own morals stand against the villages. As of right now, we're a ragtag team of nothingness, we need to be able to trust each other and our abilities! He'll ruin the mission, or worse, he'll kill us." Now, Hibiki's left hand began to crackle with electricity as his right began to suffocate his favorite instrument. His gaze never left that of the so-called Hidden Mist Shinobi.

The ANBU was a lie, so it seemed, set up by some genin with obvious morality issues. He bragged about his power, the face that he had 'the upper hand' by knowing our positions (which he obviously didn't memorize, and didn't count that everyone heard everyone's positions), and how apparently, they were all slackers for believing his jutsu. To add salt to the wound, that dumbass even said that he'd betray the village if it mean't doing the morally right thing. Kyu remained calm, but was growing impatient. He was trying pretty hard to lengthen his fuse, for them. But one after another, his team was proving to be the most challenging group yet.
There was a scream from below! Kyu looked over the edge, and rolled his eyes. Hibiki's cool exterior broke to show what was on the inside, a rabid dog with a foaming mouth. In a way, he and Kaji weren't that different. The pup then screamed about the state of a team, as if it wasn't obvious. Things weren't turning sour, they were sour. There wasn't an ounce of trust on this ship, nor togetherness, nor teamwork. Just six youthful shinobi with their own goals, morals, and plans. Granted, Kyu figured that he and Rinku were doing well together, but the rest of the team... not so much. Have they so soon forgotten why we're here? I see it. I'm going to have to take the lead once more.

Kyu stood up straight, and cleared his throat, "Drop your fists and your tongues, men, and listen up! It's become clear to anyone with eyes and ears that our team is going nowhere fast. Look at yourselves, and those around you! What do you see? I see dogs who've gone mad without a leash. I see egos that have been blown out of proportion. I see shinobi who will let their morals decide the fate of an official mission given by the Mizukage. I see ninja quaking in their boots, and ninja who take the backseat in times where they could be of use. I see eyes with sparks of treason hidden behind their pupils. And for what purpose? Morals? Pride? Fame?"

Kyu turned away from the pier, and looked into the ocean, "We are the ninja of the Hidden Mist. We may be young, but we will someday be Chuunin, Jonin, and maybe even ANBU. Perhaps, one of us standing here will even be the Mizukage. Ask yourself. Would anyone in those positions have gotten there if they killed a teammate for personal gain? Would they have been promoted if they failed a mission, just because they didn't like it."

"We are the ninja of the Hidden Mist. Mist is known throughout the entire ninja world as the producer of the most ruthless, cruelest, most violent, and deadliest shinobi that the world has ever seen. We aren't soft hearted, like the Leaf. We don't sway to weakness like the Sand. We do what needs to be done. If we are sent to kill, we kill. If the target is innocent in any sense of the word, we disregard it, then we kill them. That is our duty; that is what makes the Mist strong. We don't back down from a mission, no matter how cruel. We don't back down from a fight, no matter how impossible the odds. That is the way of the Mist."

"We may be a ragtag team of nothingness. We may seem weak, maybe even naive to some, and we can't even trust the allies from our own village enough to make a proper greeting. Heh, I wouldn't even call that a team. Right now, it's like Hibiki said. We're nothing. However, we can change that!" Kyu turned around to face the pier once more, "We were put on this team for a reason. We have tracker nin, we have combat nin. Oh hell, we might even have a medic on board somewhere. Everyone on this ship has a strength, be in taijutsu, or ninjutsu, or medic jutsu! If we work together, we can combine our efforts and walk back to Kiri with our heads held high!"

Kyu held out his hand over the edge of the ship in a friendly, team-gathering gesture, "Come on bros, what do you say. Let's give it our all, and do this mission right. No more hiccups, no more treachery, no more harsh feelings, eh?"

After Novvus had introduced himself, the ANBU kunoichi went on to dictate that about half of the people on the ship had stated their roles, and that the sooner everyone else had done so, the faster the mission would be under way. The dark-skinned boy glared at the kunoichi with steely blue eyes. There is something definitely off here, he thought, clenching his fists within his pockets, She should know exactly who each of us is! I'm pretty sure Lord Mizukage would give ANBU statistics on whoever they are overseeing. That woman is just too ignorant...

Nearby, the vulpine duo began laughing outrageously in reaction to the way Kyu had interrogated the woman. The two fox-like duo began to pace around the ANBU, telling her about scents and how everyone had one unique to them, and that clones did not. That sent warning bells ringing in Novvus' head.
No, he thought, don't tell me... One of the Hibiki's now stood in front of the woman while the other stood behind her. Judging by the vulpine boy's words, it was probably a clone of some sort. With a crackle of electricity, the Hibiki in front punched through the woman's stomach, which caused her to liquefy and burst. I was...We were fooled by a water clone?! Novvus reached into his pouch and took out a handful of peanuts, which he emptied into his mouth five at a time until he had chewed and swallowed the previous set. It was not like Novvus to get angry, but whoever had pulled the prank had crossed the line. "It wasn't me," he said in response to Hibiki, "Not even i would go to that extent to trick people into following orders."

The sound of clapping reached the dark-skinned boy's ears. It was coming from the dock, which caused him to look over the side of the ship. There stood a young man, most likely in his late teens to early twenties, sending insult after insult their way.
Goof ball shinobi, he says! I'll teach him what a goof ball shinobi is capable of! The man continued to talk about his reasons for coming on the mission and finding out why the Orasakai twins left. Novvus' eyes widened in outrage. Now he plans to communicate with our targets! This treasonous- the dark-skinned boy ground his teeth. He couldn't take any more of what the b*****d was spouting.

To make matters worse, Kyu jumped into the middle of the argument and spouted something that made Novvus' blood boil. He basically called them all senseless murderers that killed everything they considered an enemy. Then the blue-skinned boy went ahead and tried to start a friendly 'let's put our hands together and be friends' moment.
"You cannot be serious, Kyu." said Novvus, his anger clearly discernible in the tone he fought hard to keep calm, "First off, i do not make it my business to resolve my problems violently. I abide by the rules and would never kill anyone, unless i was told to. Just because our village was known to produce cruel and deadly shinobi in the past, it does not mean that we have to be exactly like our predecessors. If that is the case, i'd rather try my hardest to clean off the tarnish left on the name of our village!" and pointing a finger threateningly at the clone creator, he declared, "We don't even know your name! If you don't identify yourself, i will automatically deem you an enemy. And if you lead me down that path, i will have to let Hibiki accompany me since he has also sworn to take you down." Novvus turned back to Hibiki and said with a smile, "You earned my respect, Hibiki."
