Personality: As far as he is concerned ALL Poupe are just like him - acting, playing a sham, pretending to become possessed for the perks and special attention it lands him. He takes pride in never telling anyone this secret as well as being able to keep it one. Msanifu was truely blessed with a silver-tongue at birth...able to talk his way into or out of anything. He's a deceptive, lieing b*****d that will make you believe he's a good guy till the very end...and even then you might not even realize that it's HIM who's betrayed you. If any other Poupe were to reveal the secret that they're just pretending he would act completely SHOCKED. He's a gatherer of secrets and a spreader of lies, digging up dirt on others in a quiet, indirect fashion to keep just in case... if you know what I mean.

What's their story?: Msanifu comes from a long line of Voodoo lions, the males in his family from as far back as the oldest Mama can remember have all been Poupe. He was the only cub born to his father (his mother having died along with his two other potential siblings due to complications during birth). His father kept him away from any blood relatives for his own peculiar reasons. Msanifu knows of no other relatives he may have, believeing himself to be the last in the line of his family after his father's death.

She's an experienced digger who is used to being caked with mud and doesn't mind a little hard work.

Why is this SoA joining the pride/how long have they been in the pride?: Coryth would be coming in to be the mate of Pya, a fellow Pesepte, who will teach her his trade of collecting items for the priests. She follows him home, curious about his work with real bones and how he compares it to her work with fossils or what she calls "bone-stones".And an RP with a pride member for good measure. I'm also very curious as to what the pride would think of fossilized bones.

That's excellent, I was worried they'd disapprove of her collecting them. She'd be happy to hand over her findings to the priests for their purposes, just like any other bones.

Wall of text, yay! xD But as for it being taboo...it's not even really an issue for the Old Caplata, considering she's broken every taboo to ever exist in any pride anywhere, so. I'd have to play with that idea should I win. But, one more question on the subject of ouangas - if you captured a feline's ka, you wouldn't be able to contact their spirit at their hounfor anymore, would you? Or is the part that speaks and materializes at the hounfor the 'ba' part?
@ #2, though. What if the offspring doesn't like the calling that is chosen for them, or what if a parent is hateful and specifically assigns them a rank they know they would fail in?

So for fossils, if one of the priestly lions or something felt that a particular Loa
wanted a fossil, they'd have to find one somehow. So they'd use a fossil for that type of case.
So yeah, exactly what you said. Just like any other bones, only...older.
I have no idea where they'd find fossils, though. XD I don't know anything about that.

I'm still doing research on that subject, but I'm pretty sure that the part that is "summoned"
is the superior part of the soul, since it had been dwelling with the other Loa,
meaning...it wasn't stuck with the corpse in the ground. So that Ghede Loa could still
be called on and supposedly possess a Poupe, still.
As for the next question, I don't think a parent would be able to succeed in that,
since some of the elders and Mama have some hand in the matter, since they'd give advice.
If a juve was taken to, say, some experienced Medsen Fey who were going to be the juve's teachers every day,
and the teachers saw that the juve was completely not right for the rank, they'd presumably talk to the parent about it, and if the parent was a jerk,
they'd go talk to the Mama. Just because of how the ranking system works
with all of the taught-through-life stuff, it's just about impossible for a juve to get
screwed over by a mean parent. (Even though that would be fun for a plot. XD)
And if the juve doesn't LIKE the rank they are "supposed" to have, they can always change later.
But ultimately, they're going to have to like it and deal with it. HOWEVER, if they REALLY have a problem with it,
they would approach the Mama and talk to her. Then she'd decide if the juve was right or wrong
in their dislike of the rank they have begun training in, since that's what happens in some Vodun culture.

Well I know that really old fossils are generally trapped in the rock. They're hard to get out without tools like picks, unless they're washed out completely by the rain, which probably only occurs with small things like teeth and toe bones. You normally don't find t-rex leg bones lying completely exposed on the surface. Most likely the only fossils they would find would be teeth, skull fragments, that kind of thing. I really doubt they would find a dinosaur bone and be able to get it out of the ground without damaging it. I don't think they'd be able to tell the difference between a fossil and a regular bone, if they found one.

I suppose they might be able to tell by the condition of a bone whether it's fairly old or not...
I don't know enough about fossils to make any judgment calls, really, like I'm super-ignorant about where
a lion could possibly find one in Africa. But if a lion happened to find a very old, hidden bone, or something like a rock with a fossilized leaf imprint in it,
and brought it to one of the priestly lions, it would be viewed in the same way as other sacred objects.

I don't understand how this works~. On the certing form, do we say that we're from the Pepo'porojo pride, or do we leave it blank since this is just a concept right now? I'm sorry for the noob question. ;w;
Well, in Africa, a good place to look for bones would be the elephant graveyards. Assuming they exist in reality and not just in my head / in movies. xD There would be a lot of recent bones, but elephants have been around for a long time, so maybe you could find some older bones as well?
