::There is a collision, as Fierce intended, but not in the manner he intended. Like trying to maintain a foothold upon a slippery surface, the beam quickly loses control of its trajectory and swerves wildly upward in a spiralling fashion. In a heartbeat, it's out of sight, blasting off into the reaches of space. Ceasing the attack upon noticing this, the devil's expression is that of wonder and confusion. Though suddenly free and floating on his own again, he just stares up at the point that he beam left his vision.::
...the hell?
::Seconds pass, and the demon just stays there, trying to understand what happened. Given who he is, that likely remains in the realm of waiting for the answer to jump up and present itself. He isn't exactly a deep thinker. Oh well. Stupid beam. Time to get back t--....the toy's gone, too. Blinking to himself in unrelenting perplexity, his jaw drops and hangs open as he stares at the emptiness that was once occupied by his prey. This is a bad habit, and they need to cut it out.
Clenching his teeth angrily, he looks around, sniffing the air. The thing is gone, and nobody within sight is alive. How annoying. Growling heavily in his throat, one might think that the sound he's making would be more apt coming from a four-legged beast standing two stories at the shoulder. It takes a few short moments, steamy snarls escaping his nostrils, but the devil calms himself, face fading into a vacant expression of boredom. The nearest collection of life seems to be to the southwest, so that's where he's headed.
As though picking up on the excitement that will no doubt accompany fresh prey, the Mist seems to dance and swirl with new energy. Turning away from his intended destination, Fierce's stance loosens, arms falling to his hips as he slouches forward with a quiet grunt. A sudden grin parting his lips, he jerks his torso backwards as a flash of ki illuminates the ground below for an instant. His aura trail appearing as a black streak emanating a vermillion glow, he blasts upside-down across the sky with such force and speed that anything on the ground is ripped into the air in his wake. Dirt, rocks, water, even small cabins and trees are torn from the earth as though hit with a bomb.
Very much appropriate considering the demon will likely cause similar havoc once he reaches his next hunting ground.::
